A cute ramen-ya located downstairs of SF Japantown. The broth isn't anything memorable but the noodles are pretty good. It's curly and chewy, just the way I like it!

I had the pea sprout ramen since I've been craving veggies. It was good. But I broke my rule of always ordering the "house ramen". I'll need to come back again and try the other ones. We also got the karage which was pretty good. The batter was kinda flakey.

By the way - this place is usually packed and has a huge line since the store is super small. I would come early on a weekday (before 6pm) to eat instead of the weekends.

I will come back again and try their signature ramen and update my yelp review!

There's always a line here. My cousin already told me their ramen is not that great. Still, I dragged her along just so I can try it for myself. Should've listened.

Prices are around $7-9 per bowl. Small portions.

On their menu, they had "HAND-MADE RAMEN" written across. But I was quite skeptical when I saw and tasted it. The ramen was thin and hard. Served in a shape that seemed like it had came out of a package. No good.

I had the Tokyo Ramen, which comes with pork, wakame, bamboo, egg and sprouts. The broth was bland. The egg wasn't marinated. The only part I liked was the pork. And they only gave me 1 piece!

I was still hungry after.

Japanese chef with non-japanese cook.
I have to give 4 star because the broth get better.
Much better!
I always like the egg-noodle but the broth was something fishy.
I didn't like the broth for a long time but not any more.

I have been thinking that having Chicken Karaage Ramen is Bullshit.
I really did think the way.
It's easy for you to say "open mind" but it was very difficult for me to eat Chicken Karaage in the Ramen.
It reminded me of the "1st-time".
1st-time eating Kim-chee.
1st-time eating Natto.
1st-time eating Shime-Saba.
1st-time eating Kusaya-no-himono.
1st-time eating durian.
1st-time eating oil sardine.
1st-time eating pig feet.
1st-time eating Spam.
1st-time giving head.
1st-time having sex with same or other race.

FXXX!
Why there are so many 1st-time things are so stinky shit in our life?
But we got to do it.
We got to understand it.
Be Open mind is the most important thing!
You can do it.
Because I could eat Chicken Karaage with Ramen!
But I still can not eat durian. sorry.

I think that the egg-noodle is the best in the city.
My latest crave is that the Peashoot Ramen.
If you go green, get the Peashoot Ramen or Negi-Ramen.

And the waitresses are all young Asian girls.
So, fun to watch!

Although I still think Tanpopo's ramen is the best in Japantown, Suzu is a nice change of pace option for something a little more basic.  While variety and extras are always a good thing, it's nice to come here every so often to enjoy something a little more simple.

There are a half dozen or so types on the menu, but I generally go with the regular ramen.  The noodles are fresh, and everything about the bowl tastes clean and straight forward (which is the best way I can describe it...and no, I don't mean clean like soap).  Upgrade yourself to a combo, and you can enjoy your ramen, with a side dish to go with it - usually unagi or tempura don for me, but they also offer mabo tofu, maguro don, etc.  Combined with the miso soup and salad, and you have yourself quite a filling meal in front of you,

Unfortunately, I wish the portions were BIGGER!  This isn't to say you don't get your money's worth, as the food is quite delicious and you'll be quite full.  It's just that I wish I had more of it!  Also, I do agree that the service can be a little slow at times, but it's not something I would hold against them that heavily.  Yes, ideally I'd like to get my food sooner rather than later, but I'd rather they focus on each order (including mine) and do it well and correct, than to bring me something half-assed and disappointing.  At least that way, it doesn't waste my time or my money.

Note that they do get busy during peak hours for lunch and dinner since they are relatively small in size.  However, the typical wait I've had to experience is only 10-15 minutes, and it's generally worth the wait.

I'm no expert on ramen or noodle houses, but I'd love to find any noodle house that tickles my salty desires, and Suzu did just that.

The place is a bit small, and its clear by the wait, this place is known for good food. So be prepared to wait when you come, especially if you are in a group of more than 4.

Both my girlfriend and I had the tempuradon combo...which was a bowl of ramen, udon, or soba with a side bowl of white rice with tempura on top.  We both had the ramen choice with our tempura. The first thing I noticed about the food was that the tempura was really good.  I could not think of another place where I've had such fresh tempura in the city.  The ramen was equal in its "homemade" taste. I will definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

...and as long as its cold, this place will be high on my seasonal places to eat to get warm.

I'm in love!  Again!

One of my best friends introduced me to this place last Friday.  I ordered the Miso Nabe Yaki Udonand salmon/tuna sashimi to start.  The others ordered the Karaage Ramen.  My order was one of the best udon dishes I've ever had.  The udon noodles were the perfect texture, soup was super tasty, it was yum!  Portion was huge too and I could have avoided ordering the sashimi to start if I knew how large the soup would be.  The salmon sashimi was really good...it even had a buttery flavor.

I'd definitely return as there were several items on the menu that I wanted to try.  It took me like 10 minutes to decide on ordering the miso nabe yake udon.  Heh!

I was feeling slightly under the weather this past Thursday and had intended to pop into the Kabuki Springs for some recuperative spa / sauna action, but I needed to get some grub first.  Ramen or soba sounded like the perfect fix, so I pulled some quick Yelp research and decided to scope out Suzu Noodle House.

Good call.  I am now officially Krazy for Karaage Ramen!!  Large bowl, looks and smells great, lots of ramen, lots of karaage (breaded, boneless chicken chunks), and half a hard boiled egg and some other additives.  Taste?  Fantastic.

Cleared my congestion and filled my tummy so well, I ended up taking a pass on Kabuki and roamed around Japantown in a ramen bliss instead.

I am absolutely going back soon to try more on the menu!!!

The ramen here is actually pretty good, we learned upon are second inspection. The fact that the wait staff remains fixated on closing the restaurant as soon as the clock strikes 9:30 remains an annoyance, but it's their restaurant so whatever.  As long as you dine earlier in the day this won't be an issue, but if you come close to closing be prepared to eat and run, because they literally aim to close AT 9:30.

all things considered (especially the wait and so-so service) I still have to strongly recommend Tontopo Ramen across the street as my favorite ramen place in Japan town.

It was about 10 minutes to five on a Sunday afternoon.  Suzu doesn't open for another 10 minutes and people were lining up to get in.  You have to put your name on the list because they don't take reservations.  The place was full by the time they sat everyone sit at 5:05 P.M. and there were others waiting to get in.  They used to let you take food to go but they don't anymore.  (Something about them wanting you to spend time with them.)

My 3.5 year old daughter loves noodles so we split the Tempura Don Ramen which has a side of tempura on top of white rice and ramen soup with meat.  She ate the only shrimp tempura and a veggie tempura.   (I'm not sure what it was but it was orange.)  I ate the other 3 tempura - zucchini, green pepper and sweet potato.   I had to ask for a fork because my daughter still trying to figure out chopsticks.  She devoured the ramen and drank most of the soup.  (I suspect that she liked using the big soup spoons.)  My back-up plan was to offer her the rice if didn't like the ramen or tempura.  My only complaint is that the tempura came with the sauce on it. I prefer my tempura plain or at the very least with the sauce on the side.

I can't recall what I ordered the 1st time that I went to Suzu.  I recall that the portions were pretty big.  Great place for quick, yummy and inexpensive food if you are going to watch something at the Kabuki.

We arrived promptly at 11:15 a.m.; however, they don't open until 11:30- they let us in anyway! We were the first table sat and had this small noodle house to ourselves when, right at 11:30 the crowds came and the place was jam packed within five minutes! I couldn't believe it; there was even a line outside!
I had the Chicken Ramen which was excellent- the whole table (of five) ordered Ramen and it was super fresh and the broth was excellent.
The prices are good and its worth a try; just be prepared to finish your whole dish as they don't let you take it home...

Write your name on a pad of paper right outside the door and wait for a table. The udon was terrific, mine with chicken broth rice cake, hard boiled egg, pea pod, seaweed, cabbage, tofu, green onion. I added red pepper flakes a shoyu. The guy had udon with fish broth (delicious) and all the vegetables I had and the addition of shrimp tempura. My only complaint was that the soup was so freaking hot, that it took a good half hour before I could eat it. Maybe the trick is to phone order ahead of time......

Oh yes, yes yes.  Found a good noodle place with flavorful noddle soups.  Hmm they may be too oily and considered American, not sure... but I know that most Soba and Udon dishes taste like water.  The ones here are delicious and come with another side (like raw salmon, or another meat of choice...) Super great deals.

The staff though are very cold.  Like, very cold.  I think they might be robots.  But they get the job done.

This is the only restaurant I eat in Japantown as I would be so heartbroken if I went somewhere else knowing that homemade noodles and gyoza awaited me.  However, the last time I was there I got sides because it was sweltering outside and hot soup was the last thing I wanted.  The sashimi was surprisngly fresh and much better than many sushi spots that I go to.  I also ordered the gyozas and they were amazing too!  This place is the best and everything is super fresh.

ps: The spicy ramen is THE best hangover remedy ever!

Went here on a cold windy night. My boyfriend's sister introduced us to this place. I saw a small corner store and thought it felt very quaint.

I ordered the Tenpura Don Ramen Combo. The food was delicious. Tenpura was served over rice and had sauce on top of it unlike normal tempura with dipping sauce. The rice was very sticky and hot. The Ramen  I ordered was delicious. Broth was hot, noodles were fresh, and there was just enough meat for the entire meal. I enjoyed every filling bite!

I'd go back again =)

My wife and I love the spicy negi ramen.  Noodles are fresh and broth is great.  Chicken karaage and agedashi tofu appetizers are good.  Almost always long lines but at least they quickly take your order and serve you.  Combos are good deals.  Tried nabeyaki udon once which was just okay, so now I just stick with spicy negi ramen.  Service for tea refill and water can be iffy.  No options for different types of broth.

i really like this place because the texture of their ramen is perfection and the broth is equally good and not too salty (as ramen broth often can be) and has that "clean" taste.

i also like that they have a lot of combo entrees.  as a gal who can't make up her mind on menus, being able to not have to choose, well that makes any establishment enticing.

my 3 major peeves with this place:
-the wait. (magic hour is 9pm, half an hour before they close, but you risk them running out of alot of things in the kitchen)  otherwise the wait can be a +1hour for 4 people on a friday.
-the rules.   they don't let you substitute/add anything.  i wanted tonkatsu combo, with some curry on it (making my own curry katsu).  they refused.   like really, don't you have some extra curry leftover somewhere that you can spoon on my rice?  i'll pay for it!
-the at times laughable portions.  with the ramen combo, i get that the ramen is the meal, but the chicken katsu that came with it?   it was ONE singular piece of chicken no bigger than my thumb.  really??

that last one almost makes me not want to come back....almost.

Ramen are not fresh like they claimed they were, it was so stiff and hard to even chew. Maybe it was the day I went but I am not coming back for sure. I ordered the Tokyo ramen, soup base is good, but one small piece of meat and some ramen that isn't even fresh just ruins everything. I also ordered gyoza but it came toward the end of our meal, when we wanted to eat it first.

Had a late lunch with my friend last Friday after seeing it mentioned in the current CSAA magazine Via.  I ordered the combo lunch special, eel and ramen.  The ramen was good - better than expected and tasty.  Nothing really special but good decent noodles.  Cooked just right and with a simple broth.  The eel was also good but made more interesting after my friend was telling about a video she saw on eels back in college.  She ordered the curry with chicken over rice which was pretty good too.

Overall, the food was good enough to come back for.  But not craving it!!  It is a small place downstairs in the JTown mall.  Doesn't look like it can handle a large group.  Place is popular with people constantly coming in.  Service was fine and efficient.

OK, it's probably a 4-star food-wise, but considering the price ($9.50 for a dinner combo) I think they deserve a 5-star.

We need more places like this. The food isn't fancy, thus keeping the price down. However, the execution at Suzu is 100% solid, at least at this first visit. I'll definitely come back to see if they hold up.

Ramen makes me very happy especially if it's tasty! This place is pretty good but it doesn't compare to Katana-ya' s heavenly bowl of goodness - why? I prefer katanayas broth for some reason. I do still love Suzu and will still keep coming back.

Came here for  a quick bite to eat, and was quite impressed.  I used to be a regular to the normal stomping spots in J-town.   I can't believe that I always overlooked it.

Great service, good noodles and great broth.  Their ramen is a little on the thicker side.  But still melts in our mouth, like good ramen should, take notes TOP Ramen....

I could see how the wait could be a turn off.  The place is pretty tiny.  But, I lounged in around 1:30-2 and had no problem finding a seat and getting my order placed.  The wait staff was supper nice...

If I get a chance, I would definitely stop by again.

This is one of the few joints in J-town where I like to eat a decent bowl of ramen. They hand make the ramen here (or so they tell me, I don't know if it's true, but it tastes like it). I liked it enough to ask my sister to eat with me here. Which I did with much trepidation, since she is the ADOLF HITLER of food critics (and you thought I was tough). Thank god it was good enough to pass her standards. That was a rather uncomfortable dinner btw.

We both had the pork ramen and the chicken karaage. The ramen was good, but I found the karaage to be a bit greasy. No matter. As long as the overall dinner was ok with my big sister, I think I may be around to live another day...

Moral of the story: Fear the big sister.

The restaurant is in J-Town in a shopping centre. The interior design of the ceiling is very industrial; looks like they haven't touched it at all, lots of blue painted tubes floating in the air. In case if you'd like to look up for a moment to have this experience with the tubes prepare for the powerful spotlights above the table will give you a gentle warn to do not try look up again by burning out a little bit of your retina in your eyes at each attempt. The color and surface of the tables reminded me to the sad, failed period of the 80's Eastern-European failed socialist society research, and combined with the ceiling I've had an impression about the whole restaurant it was maybe just unpacked from a huge box overnight and can be carried away to an another mysterious shopping mall at any time.

The staff is super friendly, and they won't let you starve to death until you're waiting for your meal. Beware, objects in menu are smaller than they appear! Expect huge tasty dishes for a fairly good price. Try the ramen. The selection of food represents a cultural fusion as it's an interesting mixture of Italian, Japanese and Chinese kitchens, from pastes to sushis. In case if you can't read, you'll find helpful pictures as well in the menu, and don't forget they also have a bar at the front.

A nice place to hop in with friends on a rainy day.

What a great place! Fresh noodles and creative options ranging from your standard udon to a curried edition.  They also have GREAT Ramen. Get there *before* they open at 11:30 or you'll be waiting. There was a large line which drew us to try it out in the first place. We were lucky that we got in immediately. Price was reasonable too.

Thanks to Neil K. I can avoid the endless food options in Japantown and head straight to Suzu for a hearty warm bowl of ramen. There's something about those nifty curly noodles that always hits the spot! Broth is rich but not salty. Noodles are cooked to perfection. What more could you ask for? On my most recent trip, I took a shot at the udon and was not disappointed. If it weren't for the freaking hot 'special iron pot', I would have slurped down the bowl in a matter of minutes!

A quick tale: They have a couple 2-tops outside the restaurant. One time we sat at a table inside, right next to one of those tables, with only a thick clear glass pane separating us. As soon as we sat down, we knew right away that the couple next to us was having the 'break up' talk. The boy avoided eye contact. The girl fought back the tears. They both slowly sipped their tea to avoid talking. Can you say "Awkward!" at the dinner table?

I've heard so many stories about this place, so a couple friends and I went to try it.  This was not the first time I have attempted to try this place.  The first time, we were rejected because they did not accept people 20 minutes before closing =(.  The second time, we decided to try again, just to give it another shot.  We waited and waited and were starving.  Once we ordered, I assume that the Ramen would be good, especially since I was starving.

The original Ramen was quite bland.  The Miso ramen was a little bit better but still, it was not spectacular.  Sorry, I would not come back here again.

If there is one thing that we really look for in our favorite ramen houses, and any restaurant, really, it's consistency. Without it, experiences would be dictated by the luck of the draw, and that provides little confidence to diners. I bring up this issue because it seems to be particularly troublesome in recent times for Suzu, unless you count the unfailingly long wait list. So why do I keep coming back? Because on a good day, they are really on top of their game, and I've been willing to take a risk for such a reward.

In the past 4 years that I have been frequenting Suzu, I have tried nearly every ramen on the menu: the tasty Karaage Ramen, the Mapu Tofu Ramen, and the Spicy Negi Ramen, to name a few.  Today, I am reviewing two bowls of ramen from my recent visit to Suzu: one of their staples, the Tokyo Ramen, and one of their new offerings, the Beef and Vegetable Ramen.

One thing I noticed right away during this recent visit was the new menu cover. It highlights a new approach Suzu appears to be now taking (perhaps due to pressures from other bay area ramen houses): handmade noodles daily. I was excited to see how Suzu's handmade noodles faired next to Maru Ichi who also makes their noodles in-house. (check my posting on my blog)

The presentation of the Tokyo Ramen told me that today looked like a "good day" for Suzu as the noodles were neatly folded under the other ingredients as opposed to loosely strewn about in the bowl on days when the main chef appears to be taking vacation. Topping the noodles are the chasu, egg, nori, and bamboo shoots. The broth looked light, mostly clear with enough oils floating on top to keep me interested. The Beef and Vegetable Ramen, on the other hand, did not give the most impressive first impression. The light color of the soup seemed to be mostly chicken broth, making me wonder if the broth would have any depth to it at all.  The vegetables included zucchini, cabbage, carrots, and mushroom.  For $1.50 extra, I had customized this ramen with some spicy negi on top to give it a little kick just in case the ramen started getting boring.

On to the taste test! Despite its nice presentation, a sip of the Tokyo Ramen's broth was enough to realize that the main chef was still missing from the kitchen. It was lukewarm (cardinal ramen sin!), a bit too overpowered by the chicken broth component, and did not have enough depth to keep me interested the whole way through.  The chashu was tender and tasty, but there was only one piece. Compared to other bay area ramen shops, the chasu was also not a standout. The noodles, the only factor that gave real plus points to this bowl, were al dente and had a nice sheen to it.

Surprisingly, the Beef and Vegetable Ramen broth, though not much to look at, had a good flavor and was complex enough for me to enjoy during its entire consumption. Moreover, the broth came out much hotter than the Tokyo Ramen, and I could not taste the overpowering chicken flavor in this one.  The vegetables added a nice element to the ramen because it made me feel like I was eating a healthier ramen, and there were plenty strips of thinly sliced beef in the ramen to make me feel like I got my money's worth.  The handmade noodles were the same texture and appearance as the Tokyo Ramen.

We know everyone can't look their absolute best every single day. The same goes for a ramen restaurant. While I wouldn't recommend this as one of the best in the bay area, it remains a good pick for San Francisco simply because there are not that many options available on days when the Peninsula or the South Bay seems too far. One can only hope to catch Suzu on a good day because, if they do, I certainly believe they are guaranteed an above average ramen.  For others that aren't willing to roll the dice every time, perhaps it's time to leave Suzu for those ramen lovers willing to take the risk.  Plus, it will shorten the wait list next time I go.

I'm not one to complain and didn't want to make a scene out of it, so i soldier it up and ate it (pulled the hair out of course) convincing myself that, that's what i just have to expect eating out. Of course i will not go back because there are other noodle places in the shopping center that's very good. so sayonara Suzu House. Arigato but no thanks. I'm very much turned off because since it was my first time trying the place out.

If the weather outside if frightful, and you want a fire that's delightful, come to Suzu for some warm, ramen goodness.

The entire place is maybe 20 square feet with a few "bonus" tables directly outside the restaurant. Although they serve lots of ramen, I was in the mood for some protein so I got the chicken katsu and soba noodles. Both were delicious. When I first saw the chicken katsu come out, it wasn't as much as my hungry stomach anticipated... but after polishing off the soba noodles, I was glad for their (and my) restraint.

I found the meal to be perfectly adequate... which is what they called me in college. Handsome, and perfectly adequate.

This place wasn't bad. I came here with a friend after roaming around the hood looking for a place to eat, there was a line so we figured it was good.

We had the tempura which we expected to be a lot bigger. I tried the kim-chee udon and enjoyed it.  I would come here again but it's not my new favorite place or anything like that. Nothing really stood out.

There is something right about about the ramen here. I think its the texture of the noodles. They have nice density, a substantial and gratifying mouthfeel.
The broth is rich and I like to spike it with the spicy chili powder they have at the table.

Well I have never been one to have a hankerin for  ramen until I checked this place out. Now its in the rotation.

Not so impressed with the sides though, they are weak.

Is it a cold Sunday afternoon? In the City that's probably 75% of the time. And on this afternoon do you find yourself at Japantown and looking for something to warm yourself? What about a steaming bowl of noodles in a comforting broth? I thought my ramen-eating days were over when I graduated from college, but after eating at Suzu that may as well be history. I had the ramen with fried chicken cutlet. It wasn't as oily as I thought it would be and it hit the spot. It's definitely not a fancy restaurant and not very large so expect a bit of a wait. Anxious patrons on the other side of the glass walls made it feel like I was in a goldfish bowl, but it helped make service quick.

I only heard about Suzu through a friend whose friend apparently swears by it.  She offered to drive me from work all the way to Japantown so I thought why the heck not?  Anything to get away from work and the further the better!  Anyways, when we got there the only annoying thing is that you have to find metered parking on the street that has a maximum of 1 hour and then you get to the restaurant and there's a wait!  There's usually a pad of paper and a pen left on a chair outside for you to fill out as soon as you get there.

Service is slow and the line is long but trust me, the food is worth it.  Now I know that everyone says not to go to Japantown for Japanese food since it is only for tourists and not very authentic but I think this place beats the trend.  The waitresses and most of the clientele seemed to be Japanese.  When we finally got seated 30 minutes later, we each ordered a ramen and decided to share a sashimi platter.  The sashimi was 4 pieces of tuna and 4 pieces of salmon and although small, were super fresh and fantastic!  I got the spicy ramen and it was definitely spicier than most Japanese versions of spicy soup which I loved so it was perfect.  Ended up only costing like $15 per person so well worth it.  I liked it so much that I made the hubby take me back here for dinner!  Sadly, I got the exact same thing because I was already craving it again.

Update:  last week when I was at a movie at the kabuki theatre, I called the restaurant afterwards to see if they were still open.  Nobody picked up so I assumed they were closed and we spent another 15 minutes deciding where to go.  We happened to walk by on our way to the other restaurant and peered in to see people eating there so we ran in.  The waitress told us that we were too late since it was 9:27 and they close at 9:30.  Jeez I was annoyed!  Pick up the phone and we would have been there on time!  Anyways, one thing to note was even on a Thursday night when they were about to close, they were pretty full.   I would definitely not go in a large group though since it would take forever to get a table for more than 4 people.

Cool ramen restaurant in J-Town.  They advertise that they make their ramen fresh every day and from the texture, I believe it.  The noodles have a great balance between soft and chewy.  Generous portions of juicy pork and very tasty broth, lot of seaweed.  For me, the broth is the thing that can make or break the ramen and this broth was excellent, not too fatty like Santa Ramen and seems to have a good mixture of pork and seaweed.  You can tell if it is a good bowl of noodles when people finish the bowl of broth.  Every time I've come here, I've always finished the broth,

A bit of a wait to get in (30 min) but well worth it (we picked up some snacks at Niyiya and ate those while we waited).  I'd like to come back to try other noodle dishes, particularly the udon.    Beef-vegatable noodles are nice and fresh but the broth was salty. Salmon on rice and tonkatsu on rice are outstanding.   Combos with choice of noodles and rice are great value for the money.

Probably could use more seating areas outside the main restaurant if the JTown mall would let them.  Waitresses seem to be attentive to the outside tables.

Note:  Suzu just got a shout out in AAA's Via Magazine.

Okay, we've tried ramen all over SF and San Mateo, and I have to say that Suzu's might be the best.   It's a bit saltier (in a good way) and has more zing, though smaller portions at lower prices compared to Sapporo-Ya upstairs.  I like the stronger flavor especially compared to the more petite sizes and polite, tame flavors served up at Tampopo across the street.

Though I usually get the cha-shu men, I tried the kara age ramen and it was even better!  I think I have a new favorite.

Suzu has a new, wider variety of toppings available on all their ramen bowls, and I am looking to try some more.

The lunch and dinner menu combos are also good value if you are hungry.  The food here is just plain good, and relatively reasonably priced.

Be warned, however, that even with the two outside tables, this is a small place and seemingly always has a wait.  We went to Suzu as a party of two on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm and had to wait a good 15 minutes to be seated as people left from the lunch crowd.  I wouldn't want to even try going here as a large group of 6-8 people.  All the tables are small and more geared for parties of 2-4 max.  It was still busy at 2pm.

Wow! Good real Ramen Noodles.  Made fresh too.  If you are a noodle person, this place might do you good.   I had my first real bowl of ramen noodles there, and I love it.  It made me thinking about it, dreamed about it, and tried to re-create it at home.
Bad thing about this place is that, there is usually a looooooooooooooong waiting line if you go there during the weekends and Fridays.  The restaurant is very small.   Some people may not pay $9 dollars for noodles.
I would go there again.

I would definitely come back here!  I ordered the tempura udon -- the tempura batter was just right, not too thick or thin; the udon noodles were cooked just tender enough (and the menu says they're handmade - impressive & yummy!); and the udon broth was tasty.  Love it!

Luckily before our movie at the Kabuki we were able to get a table right away, were served efficiently and made our way to our show just in time!  It's a small place so you have to catch it at just the right time -- put your name down on the waitlist asap on arrival.

Dinner+tax+tip = $13

I came here on a Sunday night, completely drained from a sun-filled day at the Gay Pride Parade.  Needless to say, I was tired, thirsty and hungry.

There was a slight wait but we were seated pretty quickly (Thank GAWWW).  I ordered the Spicy Ramen and waited in anticipation.

10 minutes went by and everyone, I mean EVERYONE got their Ramen except for me.  Here I was, sunburned, exhausted, impatient and starved to the brink of being crazy, thinking WHERE THE F IS MY FOOD?!  I then proceeded to ask the waitress, where's my food?  She assured me it was coming soon so I sat and I waited.

After what felt like forever, my bowl of spicy Ramen finally came.  You ever felt so hungry that you weren't hungry anymore?  Yeahhh, that's what happened to me.

Gyoza's good though because THAT came on time =/

4.5 stars.  I've eaten a lot of ramen in Japan and in the states, and I thought the cha shu ramen at Suzu was really good, especially for the price.  The waitresses were really friendly as well.  I haven't tried other items on the menu and I went at a off-hour (so now wait) so maybe my good experience today won't be consistent but I will definitely be going back there to find out.

Slurp!  Yummy ramen found here.  There's always a bit of a wait, but it's worth it.
