I had lunch here with a friend today. The service was prompt, water was kept filled.
We both had the steamed basa (a white fish) served Chinese style (shoyu, hot oil, cilantro, ginger) and for my taste it was perfect! At $14 it was a little pricey but totally worth it as it was a lot of food.Listed in: Fish!!

It is no longer called Sushi Ten..
Under new management. They no longer have desserts, BOOTZ!
After coming here for the past 3 years for every family birthday dinner, they decided to change it up a little. The food is the same but it's not the same to us. We will no longer come here because we DO NOT LIKE CHANGES!
pro - location for the leeward side. -

Been here many times. I would say pretty good Japanese food and a great place for after work pau hana time.
The Japanese food first, I would say moderate to good. Nothing to write mom home about but overall delicious. Tried some of their other "local" offerings but was never really satisfied. The prices are reasonable and the food is "ok". The little one loves the miso soup and rice and the prize thing to order is the chicken karaage.
The after work crowd is pretty small on a weekday but gets busy on the weekend. They close a little early but overall a great place to get a bunch of people together since it is pretty empty from what I remember. Perfect for a few drinks and pupus. Lots of choices of pupu and nice places to sit outside with beautiful landscapes of the golf course.
The wait staff is great even if they are understaffed many times. I feel sorry for the one gal that is working alone with about 10 tables to wait. I have seen sometimes other workers standing around and not really helping out this gal and I feel really sorry for her. I am not sure if this is an organization thing or what but I feel bad for the wait staff.
OH WAIT, breakfast! Reasonably priced and not bad. You cannot really go wrong with regular breakfast and this place does not disappoint.
I would like to give this place a possible 3.5 stars but I will stick with my 3 stars until the service gets a little better and the "local" food steps it up. -

I went with my LARGE extended family ( I believe we took up two full tables). They said they don't do reservations so we came in at about 6:30 sat down but didn't get our food till 8:30.
There was about 4 waitresses in the WHOLE restaurant. I asked one if they had a kids menu for my cousins and he replied "I don't know go look by the register". Then the manager who was serving us tried to argue about what we ordered because she got the order wrong.
The food was over priced for the quality. The fish, I believe they add colorants to it to make it appear fresh. (The spicy ahi sushi smelt like rotten fish but looked fresh.)
The Waikele Country Club on the other hand are very friendly, good golf course. -

Whenever I go home, this is my favorite Japanese place to go to. The okami is so sweet and my family knows many of the waitresses and waiters which are all very kind and helpful. I love eating everything there but my favorites are the sushi and sharing the tori mizutaki with my mom.
They used to be located in Pearl City on Kaahumanu Street but have moved to the Golf club. What does that mean? It means that their food is still the same but they've lost that coziness that came with the small location. BUT that being said, it is much bigger, the service is still great, parking is always free, and you can have big parties there! Their hours are longer as well and they are open all day, pretty late, to cater to the golf club. They have a few TVs to watch sports on too. It is mainly a Japanese restaurant but they do serve some American dishes to cater, again, to a more general audience.
The best part: they serve Dave's green tea ice cream. If you've never tried it, PLEASE DO. I consider it one of the best green tea ice creams out there.
I miss Sushi Ten. -

I've been here numerous times for big parties, casual dinner and drinks and pupus. It's nothing fancy or outstanding but a good casual place to go with family or friends. Prices are reasonable and food is decent. I've never had "really" bad service but I've seen times when there was only 1 server on duty during the dinner crowd so that could explain the bad service reviews.
There is a pupu, Japanese, American and Okinawan section to the menu so you have a decent amount of choices. Nothing on the menu that I've tried is a standout but nothing really bad either.
The 1 big plus is the golf course view. Come on now, how many Japanese restaurants do you know of that has a golf course view and if you go right before sunset a pretty decent sunset view as well.
There is a big screen projection TV in the main dining area and a bar area towards the back of the dining area. The restrooms are nice and clean since it's in the club house. Parking is no problem or at least all the times I've been there.
If you're shopping at Waikele and want a decent Japanese restaurant with a golf course view why not give it a try..... -

The food itself isn't that bad. It's your typical local Japanese food restaurant that happens to be located at the Waikele Golf Course. I give the food a 3 stars. Why it gets the 2 star rating is primarily for the service. The service is REALLY slow and pretty awful. Service wasn't the greatest when they used to be located on Kaahumanu in Pearl City either.
We had a dinner for 20 in the private room and even preordered the food. Everyone had their choice of a 2 types of main entrees. There was a range of items such at tempura, grilled fish, teriyaki chicken and tonkatsu. You would think by pre-ordering, the food would come out in a timely manner. It took 2 hours! for the last person to get their dish. Yes 2 hours. The cooks in the kitchen were only preparing one dish at a time. So if you ordered tempura and fish. You got your tempura first and then the fish 30 minutes laters. If you ordered tempura and chicken, it took an hour between getting the tempura and the chicken because after the tempura, the cook was making the fish. They even managed to run out of miso soup. What kind of Japanese restaurant runs out of miso soup?!? Even when the kitchen managed to get the food out, our ONLY waitress was busy manning the other tables so our food was also cold. -

The food was decent, but the service was pretty poor. The waitress would either ignore our question or not really answer it, and just seemed to be having a bad day in general even though there weren't a whole lot of people there, save the large Japanese golf contingent in the banquet room. Had the curry, which was a huge serving. Simple food, decent prices, bad service.

This was the first time I've eaten here off the menu. All of the other times I've been here it was for parties so it was always a buffet. I ordered the chirashi bowl. Sushi was fresh with a lot variety, sake, ahi, tako, ika, ikura, hamachi and some others that I just can't remember right now. Great view of the golf course and the service was excellent too. We had ordered a pitcher of beer and because they needed to switch out the keg in the middle of filling it, the bartender had given us another half a pitcher on the house. (AWESOME!!).

Some of the best food BUT, whoever is in charge of this restaurant's policy needs to be fired. There used to be a problem with the restaurant closing business for parties and turning away customers whenever they want. Now they will just stick you in a side room to eat. My biggest qualm is that they refuse to substitute anything, even if it is the same price. Not even Obama can substitute their chicken katsu for tonkatsu. I eat there so often that they know what i'm going to order but they still won't let me substitute anything. I'll still go there because the food is that good. PLEASE let me substitute my chicken katsu for tonkatsu. Ahi belly aioli, tonkatsu, kalbi, short rib soup.

love the food here!!!! i always get the tempura donburi and it never disappoints. sushi is also very good and beer is cheap. =)
not five stars, because the service has been patchy ever since the restaurant moved from its 8-table, tiny location to the waikele golf club. it seems that the owners have not adjusted to the larger space...the servers don't appear to have sections and as a result tables often get ignored.
as a side note, my mom went here and experienced the "please wait to be seated" problem noted by another yelper.
and yes, you can't beat the green tea ice cream from dave's...the best i've EVER had. EVER!!!!!!
