The omakase was worth every penny (and then some!).

You'll have to dish out  $85 but it will get you plenty of unbelievably fresh, creative and delicious fish preparations.  Every bite was amazing and yet completely different.  The toro here is probably the best I've ever had.  As mentioned in other reviews, the sushi chef prepares the omakase with sauce/dressings already included so no need for anything additional which is a refreshing change from other more traditional omakase preparations.

I found the service attentive and polite.  They did lose my reservation that I called to make 2hrs before arrival but no harm done since there was a free table for us to snag.  The ambiance here is nothing special but darn, those bathrooms are cool!  They have the "cleaning" toilets that can usually only be found in Japan.  The novelty definitely entertained me!

Sushi of Gari will definitely be my go-to place when I'm in the mood to splurge for some local deliciousness.  I'd avoid delivery or take-out though.

Proprietor/Chef: Masatoshi "Gari" Sugio

Omakase is the way to go here. Be forewarned, the chef likes to give you lots of different cuts of fatty tuna AND some cooked fish!!

For each sushi piece, it's either marinated with a variation of a soy sauce or atop with garnish of grilled garlic, jalapenos, onions, deliciousness to change the variation of the taste.  Gari believes his customers should not be dunking their sushi into too much soy sauce and therefore, prepares just about the perfect amount for his customers to enjoy.  He's in total control from the get-go.  Traditional sushi aficionados may not enjoy this experience too much, but it's a great modern take on high quality sushi...and everything still tasted amazing. The portions were mighty generous as well. My favorites are the uni here as well as all the toro pieces... I was disappointed in the scallop, I would have liked it raw vs. seared.

It's incredibly expensive, but that is a cost for shipping in some of the highest quality fish from all over the world.  Totally worth if you can splurge for special occasions.

This place is sitting in my top 5 choices so far... it's going to be difficult to choose my #1, until I've tried them all!!  I'd like to sit at the bar for the next time, so I can get a feel for the chef's style.

Of the 3 Gari Sushi spots, this is the ugliest.  The food is still quite delicious but it looks just like any other random midtown sushi spot.  If you're looking for ambiance to match the good food, look elsewhere.

My recommended pieces list for all Gari restaurants:

Miso marinated codfish
Seabass with fried seaweed
Tuna with tofu
Sea eel seared with eel sauce
Yellowtail with jalapeno sauce
Fried oyster
Red snapper with baby greens, pine nuts and fried lotus
Seared kingfish
Salmon with roasted tomato
Kingfish with mushroom

Enjoy!

We were lucky enough to get in for an eight o'clock reservation last night (a Sunday).  This place was packed!  The service was fantastic, efficient and we had a great time.

The Superb:  The sushi.  It was delicious and incredibly fresh.  The toro was fantastic and the overall presentation was perfect.  The incredibly cool bathrooms.

We had:

toro nigiri
octopu nigiri (not chewy!!)
fresh mackerel nigiri
eel & cucumber cut roll
spicy tuna cut roll
spicy tuna hand roll
gyoza
... the list goes on, but those are the things that I had.

All in all, we had a great time and were completely satisfied and impressed with the experience.

OH!  The high number of Japanese patrons should be a hint at how fine their sushi is!

The freshest sushi I ever had my life.  We had the chef's choices of sushi which is whatever the chef decides to make and its about $12 a piece.  It was so good and not the usual roll's/sushi/sashimi you would get.  We sat at the sushi bar and the chef would place each piece down at a time.  you truly had to savor each bite before you move on to the next one.  it was amazing.

the wait staff was also very nice and friendly.  we had originally wanted to be seated at the bar and said so when we had made reservations but were seated elsewhere.  after we talked to the waitress she had us moved to the sushi bar in an instance.

would love to go back.

I was told that Sushi of Gari and Yasuda were the two contenders for best mid-town sushi.  That claim is laughable.  Pre-Yasuda, I might have been very impressed by Gari, but the two restaurants are not in  the same class.

That said, the sushi is quite good in its own right.  I tried the tai, unagi, uni, chuu-toro, sake, mirugai, and tamago, and they were all quality, very fresh and tasty.  They just weren't redefining.

The service is friendly, but not well-organized.  When our party sat down, we were presented with drink menus only, and when we requested the food menus, our waitress failed to give us the a la carte sushi menus altogether.  We asked for them eventually, but it took us a while to figure out they even existed.

Overall, I liked the place.  Still, for sushi at this price point, I'll choose Yasuda every time.

If I could only give 0 or negative stars...

After 9 grueling months of sushi-free pregnancy, I anxiously awaited my first sushi dinner (delivery) on my first day out from the hospital. I placed my order at 7:50pm, and at 8:40pm no food had arrived. I called and they assured me they were on their way, but as of 9:10pm, still no food. So at this point I'm thinking hmm....sushi that has been out on delivery for 45 minutes already....probably not so good. So I call back and they told me the delivery guy had already tried to deliver and they called me and knocked but no answer, which is strange since I was home ALL night (hello, I have a 2-day old baby, where would I go???). So I try to get a new order and she's trying to get me to take the old order, and all this back-and-forth ensues.

Long story short, it turns out the lady took down the wrong apartment number and I winded up cancelling my order at 9:45pm after about 6-8 calls.

NEVER again.

It's a shame. It held such a special place in my sushi-loving heart as I wanted to commemorate my baby's birth with a nice dinner. They've forever lost me as a customer. I will NEVER go there again.

Eat at Yasuda where the sushi is as comparable or better, and where the service is miles beyond Gari...

SO GOOD IT MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH....

I went down restaurant row and saw this place and had to try it!  It's pretty small but a cool spot!  We had the Omakase and it was worth it!!  Also, tried the black cod and DAMN it was good!

The sushi was so fresh, buttery and very smooth that it literally felt like it melted in your mouth!  I have had my fair share of sushi and this place tops that list!  Granted it's a bit on the pricey side, but I was stoked to find a great sushi place in New York on the first try!

My friend made a reservation days and days before. She asked for a table near the window.
The waiter showed us a table really far from the window.  -1 for that!

-1 for the price of so-called creative sushi.

-1 for the price of sake.

It is  modern and creative sushi restaurant.
But I am not going back anytime soon.

I have to mention through, if you want to go to Morimoto, go to Gari 46 instead. You should go to Morimoto for drinks after Gari. This place is better than Morimoto for food. (I'd give Morimoto 2 star for food.)

Not your typical sushi place, but still very good.  While some places focus on the fish itself, without adding a lot of things on top, Gari has an innovative take and presents the sushi in different ways.  But beware- it can get expensive very quickly:  we had the omakase and each got 18 or 19 pieces of nigiri, which ended up costing $121 a person.

While some places try to get too creative and add weird things to sushi that ends up overpowering the fish itself, this place adds ingredients that complements or enhances the flavor and/or texture of the fish.  We had things like toro and pickle tartar nigiri, seared cod nigiri, baby squid tempura nigiri, and also a play on typical ingredient pairings for sushi, such as  yellowtail nigiri topped with minced jalapeno or avocado nigiri topped with minced unagi.

Definitely worth going to, but not a place you (or at least I) can go to on a regular basis.

Sorry, I never tried the omakase 'cause I cant afford it.

But I do come in to have a plate of chirashi or sashimi. I never thought they'd have a great sushi joint in Midtown West, surrounded by mediocre restaurants around the block. But hands down, I was happy when I found this place. A couple blocks of walk from my place and I'm in for hick slices of fish that tastes as fresh as it could be. Everything is smooth, silky, buttery and delicious! Couldn't have asked for more (except for wishing it to be a tad cheaper, maybe)

I had another great visit. Yes, it was worth spending air fare and hotel cost all the way from West Coast.

Executive Chef Aoki-san was there for me again and he did a great job to entertain and surprise me through Omakase. Every single piece of sushi he served was so tasty and fantastic. I also have to admit that I really like the rice flavor and how they cooked the rice. My friend is so picky about rice (LOL), but the "A+" grade was given to Gari's rice. :)

I know, it's not cheap here, but sushi is not like something you eat every single day. So, when you do, you should eat the good stuff. I love traditional sushi, but also the Gari-style as well. They still stick to sushi unlike Nobu and some other (con)fusion places where weird rolls are served. ;p

I was not sure if it was due to the whole recession effect, but I was surprised to see that we were the only customers at sushi bar during the peak dinner hours on Saturday which was the first time I've ever experienced. All the tables were filled eventually, but I remember seeing their sushi bar was so popular and filled up first...hmmm.

I wish Gari-san opened a place in LA...

Look, Sushi of Gari is good, but anyone that gives this place 5 stars hasn't been to Yasuda or Ushi Wakamaru. Perhaps I'm more of a sushi purist, but all the toppings and sauces they use here just really didn't do it for me.  yes, the sushi was very good (the toro was bonkers and the uni was definitely a top 5 uni experience), but for the money, id much rather go to a place that prides itself on fresh, rare fish and a more traditional sushi experience.

i had the omakase for what it's worth

I suppose I'm a bit of a sashimi purist.  I mean, if you have in your hands a beautiful piece of salmon,  hand selected by your agent and air freighted from Tokyo, why drench it in teriyaki, lay on a cherry tomato, hit it with a blow torch and sprinkle on some sesame seeds? Wouldn't it have been better just a plain piece of salmon! A primo piece of fish can only  be degraded by such adornment.
I  wandered in one night and said "show me what you got".  After slurping down $173 worth of fish, beer and miso (yes, $173  before tip--sorry starving Ethiopian village!) I munched a bag of  . 69 bag of kettle chips on the walk home, to which I give 4 stars.

My meal here was a blur of sake and sushi. And even though I didn't order for myself (my heart and palate simply lie somewhere between bread, cheese, and garlic vs. raw fish) really, everything I tasted was delicious. Reservations are a must. Even after making ours, we waited at least 15 minutes. This isn't a dark and romantic place at all. It's actually fairly bright for a dinner restaurant. This is a man-sushi place with lots of suits. I hardly saw any women at all.

But I think my favorite part was the bathroom. Use the toilet. They spray water into your private parts and then blow it dry. Not for anything, but I enjoyed it.

Omakase Omakase Omakase....

We make sure we visit Gari every time we're in Manhattan and it never fails to amaze me.  Again, if you're into traditional sushi, this may or may not be a place you'll like.  But if you have a palette thats ready to be tickled, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

The chef has taken time to research different ingredients to come up with some seriously flavor blends that accentuate each piece of nigiri. Its very subtle.

I recommend this place if you have a bit of a larger budget for a meal that will not make you full (as sushi shouldnt) but will leave your palette very satisfied.

First off, to some reviewers: How dumb can you be to order sushi to-go or sushi delivery? These reviews should be invalidated.

I'm giving this place a solid 4 stars, but no more than 4 stars. Everything about this sushi spot in the theatre district is just fine. The interior is really fusion and cute. The service was fine. The miso soup was really good, as was the complimentary green tea. My only complaint is that it's expensive and the portion size is really small. We ordered the sushi deluxe and sashimi plate. They cut the fish in really small pieces, it kind of makes you still hungry when you are done. It was just 2 of us and we didn't order too much, our bill came to $100. The quality and freshness of the fish was very good, but not excellent. Like I said, the pieces they give you are small. So if you are really hungry, don't come here. I'm from California, so it's hard to please me, but this spot was enjoyable, although I've had better. Would recommend.

But one thing is for sure, there's no way in f*cking hell I'd give this place 5 stars. A lot of people gave it 5 stars, but this place did not blow my mind. It's 4 stars, no more.

it's omakase or the highway.

a five star experience all the way -- from the quality and creativity of the food, to the extremely attentive service, and very zen atmosphere. even if you have a small tummy, you can last through omakase and just say STOP when you're full!

notables were the mid-belly toro (not o-toro, mind you), hamachi with jalapeno, and baked oyster. m M m.

you must try it to believe it! my go-to sushi place from now on in NYC!

Ridiculously good (and ridiculously expensive).

I was fortunate enough to be taken here by a vendor with an expense account.  I had the Chirashi, which was unconventionally served with the sashimi on one plate and the seasoned rice on another.  The rice was a star feature, perfectly cooked and seasoned with slivered nori and salmon roe.

For $30, there was a very sparse amount of sashimi but OMG, the freshness and quality was second to none.  I have never tasted better fish.  I just wish it hadn't left me wanting so much more.

Next time I'm with a vendor, I'm going for the Omakase because sometimes you just have to say 'what the fuck'.

My favorite sushi bar in NYC ... but I've only been to 4 or 5.

I love this place. It's small and therefore has a comfortable feel to it, but has really great sushi.

What makes great sushi in my opinion, in the rice. And having grown up on the West Coast (California and Hawaii) I know good sushi. And this was good sushi. And I'm telling you: it was the rice. It was fresh, it wasn't overcooked, and it was delicious.

The atmosphere is another reason I love this place. It is rather small and sometimes there isn't enough room to sit comfrtably (like the time a pretty heavyset dude was next to me, but that doesn't happen often), but the overall atmosphere is great. It's very light inside, not like other suhi bars and lounges, and the bathrooms are more decorated than the place itself (we're talking rocks and cherry blossoms in the sink)!

The staff is cute and makes funny faces when I ask for tekamaki instead of a tuna roll or shoyu instead of soy sauce (aka using the actual Japanese words) lol. They're friendly, but nothing too special, but they get the job done.

The End.

One of the things I was looking forward to most about visiting New York was getting some really high quality sushi.  I've found some very good places in Boston that are very traditional, but I was looking for something a little more exotic and creative, and I found that in spades at Sushi of Gari 46.

I'd searched a few review sites and settled on Sushi Yasuda as the place to go, but it turned out to be impossible to get a table on short notice.  I should have known better

Sushi of Gari 46 that was quite close to Times Square and seemed to have a generally good Yelp reputation so my friends and I decided to give it a try.  We were glad we did.

The three of us sat at the sushi bar and had the omakase and placed ourselves in the hands of Executive Sushi Chef Aoki.  I might be the best $100 I've ever spent on food in my life.

I will upload all the pictures I took of our courses.  I missed two or three but still photographed about 15 different items ranging from smoked tofu (excellent,) enoki mushrooms with a slice of radish, steamed chicken, red snapper with some roe on top, hamachi, Seared uni on top of crab leg, Seared cod, hotate, maguro (tuna) with a very light mayonnaise sauce on top, sake (salmon) topped with some roasted tomatoes, Red Snapper with green onions, lobster with the slightest dash of pepper., Toro, and uni.

Uni is far from my favorite, but this was a revelation.  It was not at all pasty or fishy but more reminiscent of an oyster, with a clean taste and a briny aftertaste. I could have eaten it all night long.

The list goes on, but I'd say the uni, toro and the lobster were my favorites although ranking favorites on this list is ranking your favorite swimsuit models.  The difference in position is so small it's almost not worth mentioning.

Yes, it's expensive but you get what you pay for.  This is the best sushi I've ever had.  It's not traditional Japanese sushi.  that would be devoid of most condiments except soy sauce, wasabi and the sauce for unagi.   I love sushi prepared that way, but Chef Aoki's subtle seasonings and toppings were fantastic and creative and keep you in eager anticipation of the next piece.

PS:  David B., you might want to research the differences between sushi rice and Chinese take out rice.  They are many (short grain/long grain, style of preparation, etc) and it kind of turned my off to your review that you were unaware of these differences.  Technically "sushi" refers to the preparation of the rice, not the fish.

Went here in mid-July '08. Had the Omakase, courtesy of my ballin' brother who works in private equity. It was good, but like all hyped up things, does not quite deliver up  to the ethereal expectations that one's culinary id can build up after hours and hours of frustrating foreplay (ahem, that is, the workday).

Inventive sushi, yes, and lots of it. The chefs do a masterful job of keeping your palate attentive after about 10 plates of assorted rolls and nigiri that evolve nicely over time. No easy feat--but think of delicately fried lotus roots, an infinite medley of secret sauces whose ingredients you'll never divine but swoon for, Japanese mushrooms that make shiitake seem pedestrian, and you get the idea. If you don't catch what your food and fish is the first time around, don't be afraid and ask the waitress to repeat herself. Thankfully, their English is above-average sushi waitress! It's just a lot of information to take in at once, 10X a meal.

The food is simple, well-executed, if not orgasmic. But then, that's all I ask for these days. The Holy Grail of food should be sought in your own kitchen, is how I'm feelin'. (My brother also heard the UES location blows the midtown West one out of the water; supposedly, the original chef is over there.) Go before the trend-setting miso flavors at this particular local nexus of fashion and dead presidents wane. Then go to Tomoe's or spend an early morning in Tsujiki to remember and reconnect w/ the glorious fundamentals of fish on grain.

This place was amazing, but before I get into the food, I have to let my true gadgette colors show.  I love the Japanese toilets! Okay, yes, a little nasty to talk about the toilets before the fish, but still --- it was awesome. I was in there for way too long fiddling with the buttons (not actually using them, but seeing what they'd be like).

Anyhow, on to the food. I did not order the omakase, but I would have had I not gone with my sibling who is a little less adventuresome in his tastes.

Chutoro sashimi - Yum. The cuts were not too big and it was fresh, great fish.
Spicy tuna - Great spicy sauce.
Spicy shrimp tempura - Amazing. Yummy.

We got a bunch of the small plates as well --- all very good.

Overall, great dining experience, a bit pricey, but worth it to me.

Sushi of Gari 46 is Chief Gari's third sushi restaurant in New York City, his other two are located uptown on 78th St. bet 1st and York Ave (headquarters) and Columbus Ave bet 77th and 78th St. Sushi of Gari is not a traditional Japanese sushi house, they pair fresh fish in a very creative way. I recommend the omakase ($100 - depending on how many rounds), where Executive Sushi Chef Aoki delivers the freshest fish with a truly unique combination of condiments and ingredients (stewed tomatoes, sauces, chopped truffles). They also have cheaper options such as sushi and sashimi patters that range from $25-48 depending on quantity. The fish here is incredibly fresh and just melted in your mouth. I would also suggest sitting at the bar, if possible. I've been here twice and you don't get the same felling from siting at a table.

RIPOFF!

I ordered the omakase. It was so damn expensive. And such little food.

Some of the sushi was excellent, some even the best I ever had.

But, I can't get over the price.

And, I hate how they overpower the wonderful sushi with the toppings such as tomatoes or greens or something. It totally takes away from the flavor of the fish and ruins it.

I am still seething with madness on the price of this place.

Never again. I am so over these types of places.

Not your typical sushi place but still VERY good.  The sushi here is not just fish on top of rice, their sushi has toppings and they all blend so well with the fish.  This place is delicious

The sushi here is incredibly authentic and the wasabi is fresh-- meaning not pasty, but grit-like.  They offer a wide variety of appetizers, tempura and noodle entrees, sashimi, desserts and an omakase where the chef prepares customized pieces for a tasting menu (price varies).

We ordered the agetashi tofu, garlic mushroom medley, select sashimi pieces and took a chance on a very-delicious foreign sounding dessert, and we were incredibly blown away!

On my second visit to Gari, I discovered the Premium Sushi Platter, which includes 9 pieces of high quality sushi such as fatty tuna (!), king salmon,.. and urchin, which they were willing to substitute out for something else + you get a fatty tuna roll.  Regular sushi platter comes with 7 pieces and a plain tuna roll, and no substitutions allowed.  This is an incredible deal for only $30, especially given the rarity of affordable fatty tuna + substitutions in general... how can one go wrong?!  They also have omakases here, but the price depends on how many pieces you chose and what kinds of fish you like (you can let them know if there are specifics you prefer).. the omakase sushi here are the best I've ever had.  No soy sauce necessary, the flavor is already prepped and mm- delish!

The service was also impeccable, polite and attentive.  The decor is neat and simple, and tea was served in cups with tiny cartoon faces of famous sumo wrestles.. along with the face of the owner of restaurant (the cups are for sale for $15, just fyi)!

The only thing I'd caution diners is the fact that since the place serves "authentic" (small) portioned sushi, getting full could cost a little more than most other restaurants.  So if you're not a serious sushi consumer, I'd recommend heading over to Yama 49 on the east-side for more food at comparable prices.

Gari 46 is surprisingly quiet during the day.  I think it's because it's not smack in the middle of Times Square (which only adds to its charm)  It's not a big space, but it's very clean inside.  The bathrooms house these ridiculously hi-tech toilets.  Yes, like the classy people we are, every person at my table went to the lavatory just to gawk at them.

I ordered the regular sushi (8 pieces of sushi and a tuna roll).  It was all very good.  But I'm jealous of what my companions ordered: the chirashi.  It came out in beautifully sculpted presentation.  Everything was very fresh.  Do beware that the prices on menupages are old and Gari 46 has since hiked up their prices.

I ordered the omakase sashimi and several off the menu sushi pieces for lunch. It's no Yasuda or Taro.  Gari's hits are Yasuda's and Taro's misses.  Gari over compensates for above mediocre fish with mediocre sauces.  Ise on 56 Pine does the same thing and it doesn't work.  No sushi or sashimi worth its sea salt needs elaborate sauces or decorations to make it taste good.  My chef (the executive Chef of Gari so saying his whites) also laid way too much wasabi.  I'm talking fumes inside your mouth that make you tear.  He does make a great ume-shiso roll, the shiso is really strong, however it's overwhelmed with wasabi.  The pickled ginger is standard.  Their rice, anybody can purchase a pint for seventy five cents at a Chinese take-out and it will tast the same.

My appetizers, a dish of ankimo, and gyoza tasted good only because of the subtle ponzu sauce and sesame hot sauce respectively.

The service was a bit off at first.  There wasn't anyone sitting down at the sushi bar for lunch, I saw the reservation book and it was empty and yet I was asked if I made a reservation (not a problem) and when I said no they deliberated (a problem) about it amongst themselves.  I was the only one at the bar and they moved me one seat over.  My waitress was very cute though.

Go to Yasuda or Taro for real Japanese style sushi and sashimi

PS To Jeff D.  I compare THEIR rice to Chinese take out because to me they prepare it the same way.  However, your disappointment is noted and being filed appropriately *Flush*!

Went here for the first time last weekend.  Made reservations and was seated right away.  It wasn't too packed for a Sat night.  Just right.  It was a pretty cool place to bring a date.  However, I was just with friends :-)  The place was simple and cool.  Everything was so clean including the bathroom.  The bathroom was so HI-Tech!!!  Bring your camera and take a picture..lol.  The salmon terriyaki was great!  I love how they cook the ends a little crunchy and toasted..haha.  Shrmip tempura was great as well!!!  Sushi was great!  Everything was great!  Our guest of the evening even stated that it was the best Japanese food he's ever tasted!  Made us feel good :-)  Oh yeah, it's pricey.  What do you expect?  Great food, service and very clean!  Plus, it's Japanese.  So, that should be expected.

I went here again last weekend.  May I add that Iove the place even more!  I went here with more friends and we practially ordered everything in the menu.  I'm serious.  We tried half of the appetizers and all of the desserts.  Everything was great and fresh.  The service was quick as well.  They were on top of cleaning our table when we were done with our plates.  I tried the plum wine and it was so damn good!  My first time trying plum wine.  I could have gulped that down but I was being good..lol.  Our bill was pretty high but...oh well...everything was worth it!

Only downside, it was a little hot inside.  They said AC was broken and it was hot outside too :-(  Its OK.  They made it up with the service and food.

The sushi was decent. I am from Chicago, and South Coast is by far the best sushi I have had so I have a hard time finding other places I like. The service was slow. I felt that the people around us received their order before us, even though we were there first. The waitress kept giving us looks even when we finished our meal.

Overall it was average. The decor was cozy. Seating was limited.

Whoa. Its been several weeks since I ate there and I can still remember the meal vividly.  Sushi of Gari is a beautifully decorated shrine to uncooked fish.  It really is a celebration of fish and good taste.

My gf and I had the omakase.  It is priced at 80 a person I believe.  However we kept eating and before you knew it the check was insanely above my head.

The first three starters in the omakase was cooked food - I belive it was a tempura battered fiddlehead fern, some tofu, and a piece of fried bonito.  This was nice but not amazing.  And that counts as three pieces of the omakase which upset me.  The uni was heavenly, the toro was plump and delicious.  The selection and quality of fish is just astounding.  One thing that we had was a piece of foi gras topped on a bed of rice.  This was delicious and I wish I could eat like that on a daily basis.

Please visit Sushi of Gari - it is a truely an experience.

After hearing years' worth of Gari rants and raves, I was shocked to see them open a location so close to Times Square.  The restaurant just seems too good for such a touristy neighborhood.  This location is housed in the ground level of a town home on the busy Restaurant Row that is 46th Street.  The decor is traditionally simple Japanese with clean lines, wood, and various screens.  The service is friendly and the atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed for the steep prices.  An important note on the ambiance must be contributed to the unique bathrooms, which house a remote control toilet. Yes, you heard me correctly....a remote-control toilet.  While you sit on the porcelain bowl dreaming of your next decadent sushi course, you can play with the electronic cleaning system inside the bowl, which offers an array of front/rear water spritzes, gusts of cool air, and much more!  While sanitarily (yes, I know it is not really a word) questionable, it is definitely an experience worth trying.

In terms of food, this place is tops.  The chicken terriyaki was amazing!  The sauce was light, rather than syrupy, and packed a wallop of flavor. The chicken had been pounded thin and was quite tender.  The entree was plated with some decent mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables...sort of an American take on this classic.  I also tried some salmon sashimi, which was extremely fresh.

I am looking forward to my next Gari trip to try more sushi...and maybe the bathroom again :)

Good, but overhyped.  This place is Kurma's prices but the quality isn't as good.
