I am not a fan of the actual sushi here (seems like it was sitting out for a while, as the Dragon Roll I ordered contained shrimp tempura that had absolutely no kind of crunch to it) - but the strengths definitely lie in their lunch specials and rice plates.
I ordered an Una Don (unagi over rice, which came with a big ass sweet egg omelet on the side), which wasn't the best that I have ever had, but I did notice that my friend ordered the regular lunch special, which includes teriyaki, soup, salad, AND what looked like raw tuna and scallions over a bowl of rice. I tried the tuna and it was actually really good.
I'm probably never going to cheat on Sen Dai again, but if I do end up back here, I'll definitely order the tuna.
Extra star for the pimp table they gave us in the corner.
I don't know any other way to say it... but this place gets an F. It was so disappointing having to invite my friends to have dinner here because it's so close to home for me and yet their sushi was lacking in every way possible! I should've known better to not suggest a place to eat when I have never been there myself. I was embarrassed for this place!!!
Their sushi rolls are packed with rice, very small filling and barely any fish which makes them look super huge, but in a bad way! Their sushi handroll was chewy and not crispy like how it should be. Yuck! There's a Sushi Maru in Sunnyvale and that place is way better! I wouldn't recommend this place for sushi. If you like to have a bowl of udon, then that's fine.
This place was alright.
I've always been a bit wary when it comes to the consumption of sushi that has been sitting on a floating wooden boat for who knows how long... My sister made me do it and grab a plate off the boat. I'm still a little disgusted just thinking about it... like a virgin, it was my first time, and it sucked.
The prices are decent, the food was aiiiiiite... nothing to rave about. The place was quaint and the decor is typical of your usual sushi bar.
Standard. Go here for a quick fix and expect nothing spectacular.
sushi cuts are questionable at best!
Scales and skin on the fish. Nasty!
I've been to places where they serve REAL, AUTHENTIC Japanese food ~ i.e. in Japan, and this place can no where be as good and as delicious as the sushi is in Japan (I've been to Japan three times), but still I think Sushi Maru is one of the better sushi restaurants in the South Bay. I like how they have the sushi boat (always fun!) so if one is sitting at the counter, then they can decide what sushi they want to order. Of course, one can always make requests from the sushi chefs or order them from their waitress, but the fun of eating at a sushi boat is being impulsive and being able to pick it right off the boat.
The wait can be a bit long on Friday and Saturday evenings, so try to arrive earlier if possible. When one arrives and checks in at the front counter, they can specify if they want to wait for a table or for a counter spot. When I come here with friends and family, we always go for a counter spot (more fun!). Their rice is really fresh (but not so soft that the sushi doesn't taste right), and their sushi varieties are plentiful. I particularly (just a personal preference!) like the tamago and the eel. Anyway I would recommend this place and the prices are definitely affordable for Japanese food in the Bay Area. One last note: one can also order set meals and udon, as well.
Okay their California Roll definitely has issues. I had lunch here last Friday... everyone deserves a second chance but I've given this place about five already. The rice was a little dry and hard. Leftover rolls from yesterday perhaps?
2nd chance = Failed!
3rd chance = Failed!
4th chance = Failed!
5th chance = Failed Miserably!!
Friends, please stop inviting me to this place for lunch (or dinner).

Been here twice. Or three times. Can't remember.
The last time we went, wife was away for the evening and I was feeling kind of sick/tired, so thought I'd take the kids here to get udon.
Of course, I made the silly mistake of sitting by the sushi boats. Kids loved it - everything looked great and they wanted this and that.
The quality of the sushi was ok. Kids got full, so by the time the udon came, they didn't really want too much of it. The udon didn't taste all that spectacular, though.
I'm not a hardcore Japanese food/Sushi connoisseur or anything but this place didn't quite cut it for me in terms of taste, although, the service was pretty good.
When you walk in, you'll notice a clipboard with a piece of paper that you sign into. As they seat people, they go down the list and cross people off one by one. When we were called, we had the option of sitting at the table or the bar. We chose a table, but after seeing their impressive sushi boat, we wished we had sat at the bar!!
After glancing over the menu, we quickly placed our order for a couple of rolls and a dinner combo. The sushi menu is separate from the dinner menu so you'll have to ask for it to see their sushi selection. I think I would have been ok with the food if it weren't for the pickled ginger that ended up being try at our table. All the tables seemed to have a container for wasabi and pickled ginger so you can get more of each without having to ask for the waitress. Only problem though was that I guess leaving out the pickled ginger there ended up drying it out a little bit. Not really a big deal but just a small gripe I had.
The sushi pieces I had were good though. I had the octopus, scallop, and shrimp tempura roll. They tasted alright but they weren't anything special. Maybe I'll give this place another try.. I could have came on an off night.
Saturday was hot and we were craving something cool for dinner. We decided on sushi. My sister-in-law wanted to go to a place with a sushi boat and Sushi Maru had a boat.
We arrive after 5:30pm and it wasn't as busy. Our party of 9 was greeted, seated and our menus handed to us. My husband walked over to the boat area with tray in hand and picked up some rolls. .
The food is OK. Nothing spectacular. Prices were reasonable. The waiters were really nice but I agree with the other yelpers... service was on the slow side. The restaurant filled up quickly after our arrival. We plan on coming back minus the kids.
Sen Dai doesn't open for lunch on Sundays so decided to go here today.
I ordered chirashi sushi. The first thing I noticed was this clear plastic looking film on my mackerel. It was the first time I've ever seen that. I took it off of course.
The salmon, tuna, and squid tasted funny. I can't pinpoint the exact taste, but it had a slight smell of vegetables beginning to rot.
My sistered ordered a rainbow roll with her bento box. It was so small. Just 3 pieces! I guess we've been spoiled at Sen Dai.
The only pieces I felt comfortable eating was the salad that went with my sisters bento box and the deep fried tempura (whatever bacteria was there was definitely killed during the frying process).
The ambience has a cute small setting. There's some nice fish artwork on the walls.
If you love sushi, head over to Sen Dai on Abel Street. It's worth the wait. It's crowded for a reason.
Skip this place if you're looking for quality sushi.
I ordered salmon sashimi, salmon hand roll, unagi hand roll, and a special roll that I can't remember the name of (probably because it was by no means special). The fish was dry on all of my orders - as if it was left sitting out too long!
They also have a limited selection of specialty rolls and I don't think there's anything particularly memorable about the service, food or ambiance.
In my opinion, take your money and stomach elsewhere.
My daughter and I were shopping at Safeway and decided to get some late lunch before we went back home. We came through the door about 10 minutes before they were going to close for lunch.
We sat ourselves and proceeded to wait for our server. She wanted to leave, which we understood, since we came in so close to them closing. She gave us our menus, but another server continued service. This wasn't a problem until the other server seem to just disappear for a while.
So, All in all the food is alright, the service is a bit slow, not rude, just slow.
I most likely will not go back if I can help it, but really milpitas doesn't have a sushi bar that really knocks my socks off.
If your looking for an upscale Japenses restaurant. This isn't the place for you...
I absolutely love self serve sushi restaurants with the floating boats.
I sit, I see, I want, I grab and then I eat. It's so convenient and fast!
Sushi Maru makes HUGE sushi rolls and they are delectable! I'm a very adventurous eater and I usually stay away from the California Rolls. However, at Sushi Maru, my favorite is the California Roll dipped in Masago. Those tiny little orange fish eggs are so fresh and savory, surrounding a large portion of fresh crab and avocado wrapped in white fluffy rice. It's heaven in my mouth!
I'm deducting 1 point for variety. They do not offer a large variety of rolls. Most rolls are California Rolls topped with a variety of things ie. sashimi, unagi, masago, etc.
I would recommend going towards the end of lunch time or end of dinner time. They pile a few platters worth of sushi onto one sushi plate so that they can get rid of the leftovers from that meal so that they can make more for the next meal. Your totally getting double for your $$.
I used to love going here back when it was Sushi Lovers. Then again, it may have been because I was like 10 years old and just enjoyed the cute name and cool looking boats.
Now, I still enjoy the cool looking boats. However, the food isn't really spectacular: it's not bad, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here. The raw oysters were just ok, and usually I love oysters. The sashimi was decent.
There isn't much service, but if you sit at the bar you can just grab whatever you want and enjoy a quick meal.
This is my FAVORITE Sushi restaurant!
The sushi is always fresh and delicious. They are a traditional Sushi restaurant. They do not serve made up Sushi rolls with mysterious sauces.
If you come here on Sunday nights, before closing time, it is the cheapest! They combine two plates from the Sushi boat so that they do not have to waste it.
If you like spicy sushi, and you want it really spicy .. tell them, they'll do that for you (;
Went there a couple times for lunch and the food was only mediocre. Japanese curry tastes more like Chinese curry and their beef teriyaki is not that great either. Since there's not much choice when it comes to lunch during the work week, I guess I don't mind going there.
One more thing, their lunch special is really a good deal given the fact you will come out with a very full stomach!!!
I don't think they know how to cut sushi. I ordered a salmon sashimi and the color was very odd...salmon also had skin left over. Staff was friendly and nice though, which is what made it bearable to sit through it.
Sushi Maru is hands down, my favorite sushi restaurant in the Bay Area.
My family and I come to eat here all the time. Ken, the owner, provides the freshest seafood around. This is one of the only places that we would trust to get some sashimi. I absolutely love their salmon.
Things I like about the place:
1) The California rolls. They're priced a little above $2, probably $2.50. For the crab, they mix real and imitation crab to create a delicious and satisfying roll.
2) Major hook-ups at lunch time. The restaurant closes after lunch and opens again for dinner, so around 1pm they'll tend to add extra rolls on the sushi boats to get rid of it. That means two orders of California Rolls for the price of one!
3) All-you-can-eat ginger and wasabi. There's two containers at each table so you can load up on flavor without having to ask your waiter three times for more ginger, which I often have to do at other sushi restaurants.
4) Nice atmosphere. I like the booth seating around the sushi boats, as opposed to just having individual seats. This way families and groups can sit together while grabbing goodies from boats. The service here is very attentive as well.
My only wish is they were still in Sunnyvale!
Dont to there anymore
i used to go to this place very often.
However, lately they do have serious hygienic problems!!! i have seen cockroaches from the last 2 times i visited there.
Please stay away from this restaurant.
I don't think I'll let my friend pick the restaurant anymore. Two 1 stars in a row!
I was a bit apprehensive about coming here because of the plentifulness of one stars such as Noel. M's; yet, I try everything at least once and typically it's not so bad.
We entered Maru around 1:40 PM for a late lunch. They were closing at 2 PM so the sushi menu wasn't going to be available. We obliged and decided to stick with the lunch menu. Quickly I chose the lunch special bento box with teriyaki chicken and sashimi. The special comes with miso soup, salad, rice, and of course orange wedge.
Sushi Maru's interior is quite decent. It's not one of those stripped down sushi places but rather a semi-Japanese themed one. They have sushi boat as well. Playing in the background is some really odd Jpop. The music reminds me of 70's movie trailers or infomercials. My love for Jpop or Kpop or X, Y, Zpop has never grown past the line of slight annoyance.
The food was average, decent almost. I'm a bit glad that we didn't have sushi because of the horrible reviews. They don't serve fresh wasabi or ginger, instead they have a little tray on the side. This makes me question the sanity of the place. I took some wasabi and soy sauce nonetheless. Some gripes: my sashimi was kinda warm and they tried to compensate with salad and rice. More meat please. A bit pricey ($9.90) for what you get.
While the place closed and people left, the kitchen staff also came out from the trenches. It was like a fiesta had burst out from the back into the dining room complete with hooping and hollering. Why do Japanese restaurants hide hispanic employees in the back? To appear authentic? Blah. Just put them in the front.
On the drive home my stomach started to feel unusual. When I got home, my stomach exploded. I won't go into details :D. The rest of the day I laid in bed. The only other thing I had to eat that day was cereal for breakfast. It must have been something at Maru's. 'Nuff said.
An hour later and I still have a funky taste lingering. Not good.
Michael H. sent me a comment regarding my previous review which made me realize I haven't given this place another shot since they first opened. I like to consider myself a fair person (plus, the wait at Sen Dai was just too long tonight) so I thought I would give them another chance.
They remodeled slightly from when it was Sushi Lovers (R.I.P) installing tables butted up against the boats, not exactly the best way to utilize the small space. Since there are now fewer seats the options were to wait forever or sit at a side table.
Our waitress was super friendly but not very attentive. I had to flag someone down to get a tea refill and finally the check.
The baked clam appetizer was overpowered by the plethora of onions in it. I'm sure there were slivers of clam in the dish but I couldn't taste them. It came out way before our sushi, which we could see, sitting half compiled.
Ah, the sushi. The reason behind the funky taste. I couldn't pinpoint it but something was...off. Our order of Saba came out covered in that "glossy film" that makes food attractive, I think it was pickled though. Not the flavor I was going for. Even the California roll tasted....strange.
umm, the miso was good!
I'm going to go brush my teeth a couple of times now.

We only go here when we happen to wander over to the town center and the kids are super starved and we're too lazy to go anywhere else.
I didn't like it when it was Sushi Lovers and I still don't like it now.
The sushi isn't good...it looks and tastes stale. That's all I can say about it.
Service is fast but inattentive. We got our food in a flash!
At least my kids liked the pork cutlet. So they got a good meal out of it.
We'll inevitably end up back here again...but not my favorite place to go for sushi.
OK I love this place. Its nice, clean, and the food is SUPER FILLING.... I come here every few weeks and I dig it. Idk why sushi maru is getting low stars on yelp.... D=
I think that if you like food in general, just come to Sushi Maru, you can stuff yourself and be happy.
$33 for a stomachache?
My sister and I were really craving sushi. We stopped by Sushi Maru because it was the closest sushi place to our gym. When we saw the sushi boats floating around, we made it a point to order our spicy tuna roll directly from the menu. After we placed the order, I looked over and saw the sushi chef PICK UP a dish of spicy tuna rolls from one of the boats floating around and put it out for the waitress.
"Uh-oh," I said to my sister. "I hope that's not for us."
Uh-oh indeed. That dish, unfortunately, was for us and it literally tasted like it had been floating around for a long, long time. So much for ordering from the sushi menu.
I also ordered the special of the day: toro on rice. That was another bad decision. The toro looked like a bunch of mashed up fish goop on top of rice. Hey, I can deal with mashed up goop if it's good mashed up goop. This was NOT good mashed up goop.
My sister and I were not even done eating when we started feeling sick.
If you're looking for good, fresh sushi, this is the wrong place to go to. It's probably better for its cooked food. The two stars are for the very nice waitresses who work there and the decent miso soup.
this place is alright
nothing like having the non-japanese help yell out irasshaimase when you enter. i have to be politically correct here less someone takes offense and decides to write some nasty yelp response to me, oh no.
fish is kind of dry. the bento box is not bad, real expensive here
this place is one of those eat your lunch mind your own business and get on with your life type establishment. whatever that means.
itadakimasu, im not coming back here
So I was craving for sushi 2 weeks, to make things short we didn't plan to go here. We planned to go to Akadai sushi place in Fremont the week before since the review was really good but something came up and didn't go. I wanted to go to Yuki in San Jose this week since I was lazy to drive but my homegirl didn't want to since she wanna try the one in Fremont so I went on 880 toward Fremont but my 04' Navi didn't have it listed so we stop by here since that's the only place I knew in Milpitas.
When you walk in, you look and you think it's pretty big and two sushi bar. Look at it twice and there's a big mirror along the wall on the left to make the place seem bigger. We waited like 10 minutes before we got a seat at the Sushi Bar. I ordered hot Sake since it was a bit cold. Avocado in the middle and Tuna on top roll, Yellow tail with cream cheese in the middle, we had the oysters with some sauce, and a few other sushi dish that was running along on the boat and an Udon soup to share to finish things off.
The Oyster, Tuna and avocado, and this roll that's look like a Korean roll with those Korean seaweed? and salmon was pretty good. The Udon soup was a bit salty, wasn't the best but pretty satisfying to finish things off. They had Chicken and eggs in the Udon as well and that made it better. The other rolls were average.
The Service was bad, the guy stare and look at us like he's pissed. We said we're going to order stuff from the sushi bar and I was still deciding if I want to get the Dinner Special or not but he kept asking for the Menu like wtf? Chill, I wanna look at it to see if I want some other stuff beside Sushi since I was craving Tonkatsu Pork. Blah the whole time when we call him he always stare at us like he's pissed. My homegirl tea was almost drain but nobody came by to refill. We had to raise our hands and ask this other girl to do it and her mind was off to somewhere. Right after she refill the drink, she went to talk to the guy who's a host. This is a WORK PLACE, chit Chat after! The Host wear his polo with his collar popped up like wat the pho? This ain't no Retail Clothing store, wear it properly. Maybe I wouldn't have said anything if it looks stylish.
7 plate of sushi, an udon, and hot sake was $43. Overall some the food was good and some was ehh. I want to give this place 1 stars so bad but the meal was fulfilling and I was full all night. I probably wouldn't go back here again. I'm on a Sushi hunt to find the best Sushi in San Jose and blahh this wasn't close at all.
Granted 1) It is not Rocket Science. 2) With proper training, maybe a year or two's apprenticeship. And 3) Constant supervision, a Mexican can become an adept Sushi Chef someday. But I certainly wouldn't want to be along for the ride waiting until that "someday" comes. Now I am being overly sarcastic and frankly a dick (much love to my Mexican folks! Y'all breed lovely women) but let's be honest. this place is trash. Sen Dai Sushi down the street had a 40 minute wait, so we settled for this place nearby. I gladly trade for that 40 minutes now. I feel so strongly about it that i'd get up on horseback in a kilt and borrow heavily from Mel Gibson's speech in Braveheart about trading for that "One Chance!" so I can tell my enemies, they make take our lives, but they cannot make me eat the garbage this place serves. Outwardly, this place looks nice, it's in the new revamped shopping center, the decor is lovely. But is all about the food and after leaving this place, this was my first thought "Even the rice sure was bland!!?" Better sushi can be had at buffets.
I've been coming to Sushi Maru ever since they were still in Sunnyvale. Sometimes the place gets really crowded but the wait is very worthwhile. The service is fairly quick and the staff are super friendly.
Let's talk about the food, shall we?
- I normally judge a sushi restaurant based on their Uni and all I can say is, they have not disappoint me. Their Uni and Amaebi are always super fresh and sweet, while the Toro just melts in your mouth.
- Their Clam soup is really good, especially if you love clam. The clam broth plus generous amount of clams... Hmm... Who can complain?
- And today, I was introduced to their Fish soup: assorted fish and fish bones that were boiled all day with miso. OMG! Nom!
The price has gone up since I came here a few mths ago which is the solely meh! for me. Overall, I think their food is good, just a bit disappointed with their price change.
First time to Sushi Maru and I should have read the reviews before eating here. I was excited to finally try it, but was a bit disappointed. They have the sushi boat during lunch when I went, tables are next to it on the Right side.
I wanted a table, but P. wanted to sit at the bar. Of course he does since I was buying him lunch. We sat at the end of the bar which I don't recommend. Ken K. says to sit in front of one of the chefs & have them make you your sushi/nigiri Fresh!
I had Hot green tea to drink and asked for ice water too. I only drank the tea which was fine.
We got:
hot sake P. wanted $3.90 - he didn't share!
White tuna tataki lunch $11.90 - just a bunch of white tuna w/ onions & side of rice, soup, & salad on the side. He thought it was ok.
Unagi nigiri from the sushi boat - $3.50 - who cares if it's endangered! Eat them all up so your kids & grandkids don't get any.
Sushi lunch $12.40 - soup on the side - too much seaweed for me, tiny bit of tofu, chunk of salmon w/ bones - dry. Salad in the bento box - ok, pair of white tuna nigiri - fine; 4 other nigiri: salmon, tuna, shrimp, white one + 3 pcs of Calif roll. Better deal than white tuna takaki for sure, but more expensive too.
Subtotal $31.70 + 8.25% (Santa Clara Co Penalty) $2.62 = $34.32 before tip.
Separate bathrooms in the back.
In the Milpitas Town Center next to Comcast, Right of Safeway.
I came here with my cousin for dinner on a weekend because we were curious to try the place. We had heard that the one in downtown San Jose was pretty good and there aren't very many sushi places in Milpitas so we wanted to check it out.
The place had just opened probably a couple of weeks before we went and the Grand Opening sign was still outside. It was packed when we went in, so we took this as a good sign.
First of all, it took forever for us to get someone to take our order. Second of all, the food took even longer to get to us. People who came in after us got their orders before we did.
I ordered the don katsu with egg over rice, and honestly I could have made something that tastes much better. My cousin ordered the teriyaki chicken over rice and boy was it small.
Suffice it to say, we have not been back since.
As Ken K. has noted, its probably the best sushi boat place in Northern California...as long as you do all your ordering off-boat, directly to one of the Japanese chefs behind the counter. http://www.yelp.com/bi...
The higher end, more intriguing and seasonal offerings shown on the specials board rarely make it to the boats which tend to be filled with standard American sushi boat fare.
Japanese chefs there have been very hospitable and engaging.
Avoid just about everything else they have there and you will do fine. (The only exception I can think of is a once a week special of negi-toro don for $10 which is very fresh and a good value.)
The 300th review.
And it's for sushi.
It's the new year and I have been on some kick. Like a kick to go on a diet and maybe like the way my body looks. It's not that bad, but still you get a little sensitive now and then. I had someone call me "soft" and told me to "suck it in" the other day. Granted, he was a work of modern science for the most part ,and just really good genes on the other.
For the most part, I am neither - so I didn't take it that bad.
But I really want to start climbing up the hotness scale, because I don't want to peak and not know it and then spend the rest of my life looking for some Jewish miracle working plastic surgeon to make my best friend.
I've tried this place for about 2 times in 1 week now.
The decor is nice, I love the walls... the wood is inviting and gives a modern touch. However, the flow sadly doesn't continue through the whole restaurant. This is the best place I've been too for boats, however I try to never eat off of them and order directly. Service is a bit sketch, it was more friendly the second time around.
They close at odd times and their hours are weird. 9:15 in some cases, and 9:30 in others... I'd call ahead. But Milpitas, is lucky to have this Japanese place otherwise you'd end up at Panda Express for some Americanized Asian food.
Sushi price is reasonable, too.
Now go ahead, make like Jeremy Piven and get some mercury in your system.
The sushi wasn't bad at all but the service is horrid. Slow, forgetting orders, appetizers that never arrived, tea that never gets refilled, etc.
Went here with some friends and the staff was super nice and seated us promptly when we entered. The food was ok, just had sushi, and nothing special. Their box dinners were pretty good though from what my friends told me.
We've been here a couple times since they moved from Sunnyvale and it's better than the Sushi Lovers it replaced. Tasty lobster rolls, salmon tataki, katsu curry and my favorite local sake sashimi. If you time it right, they offer 2-for-1 sushi. But be careful, they could refresh the sushi boat plates a little better, sometimes you can tell they've been floating for awhile.

Came here on a friday night. Boy was it crowded!
I didn't get to eat much sushi there except for the sushi that was going around the sushi boat. The sushi was pretty tasty, nothing great though. The shrimp tempura was alright a bit too greasy. The chicken teriyaki was alright as well.
The ambiance and decor was lovely!
Service was pretty good except they forgot to bring us our miso soup! -_-
This place was overall OKAY. Nothing too great.
Took my Mom here last week for dinner. We started w/the endamame and choose the bento boxes for our entrees. I had the ton katsu and she had the salmon teriyaki. Prices , food and service are all average. The last time I was here, my friends and I had the rolls which were neither special nor creative. Not the freshest Sashimi either. Best described - a nicer version of Sushi Boat.
My wife loves japanese food so we go here often since it is close to where we live. I would say it is not the best Japanese restaurant but given the variety of sushi and other stuff they serve. I would recommend to give it a try if you love different varieties.
This place is small and is always crowded and it usually takes about 15-25 mins of wait time for sushi bar seatings during peak dinner hours.
I personally like the uni, amaebi sushi and abalone on shell. Service is so-so and it depends on how crowded it is on a particular day. Sometimes, you have to ask a server twice to get the things you want.
Price is OK. The highest priced item (single plate sushi like uni or amaebi or fatty tuna) is $5.50 and i would rate the food a B+ quality.
Make sure not take sushi that are sitting on the boats for a long time. They normally become stale. Ask the chef to make you a new fresh plate instead.
Friday nights are paaaacked. Guess this place is a local favorite.
My bf and I were seated at the sushi bar and we ordered a bowl of vegetable udon and then just started plucking the small plates of nigiris and rolls off of the sushi boats.
The vegetable udon was so-so but the Sake Nigri (fresh salmon on rice) was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Tuna was okay. My bf who is a huge lover of sahimi and nigiri said that the sake nigiri was the best he's ever had. The salmon was DELICIOUS. Fresh and fresh can be, beautiful cut and a taste so delicious I can only describe it as smooth and buttery.
Although the rest of the items were average, the Sake Nigiri is worth coming back for....
This place is great. The bento boxes are kinda pricey for lunch but the portions justify the cost.
The chicken teriyaki was a little dry, but then again I'm biased towards Kazoo in downtown SJ.
I'd eat here again, but the place is pretty small.
