Yeah this place is good, but I have had better--or about the same quality.
The wait is usually pretty ridiculous, so whenever we go, we just order ahead of time and pick up take out and have a nice dinner at home.
I hate having to wait for a seat at a restaurant---to me, if its a long wait---it takes away from my experience at the restaurant.
Personally, I would pick Kai's over this place.
To me, Sushi House is Meh.
I was thinking of an original review but I think mine will echo that of most of the yelpers out there. The food is great no doubt. Sushi, tempura and teriyaki are all good. But what about the service? Do they think because they taste good, they can slack off?
Also whats the cafeteria style seating and lighting? I feel like I should line up somewhere and grab a plate. Lots a tables and no booths. So if like sitting across of your date be sure to come here.
Great place if you're not a true die hard sushi/sashimi lover. This place is all about the rolls. They're becoming less and less japanese with more fruit, tempura, avocado and sauce then fish but I have to admit they are tasty.
Get there early early or call in and pick it up (you can't pay over phone, just FYI if you send a friend there to pick it up) or you'll be waiting a long time. Service kinda lacks.. they're really busy and waitresses/servers are running around like mad.
Rock it with the rolls
- island
- bay scallop
- samurai
- lambada
Parking: lot, if full you can park on the street or next door at big 5
Cleanliness: pretty decent. restroom is fine too.
Cost: Can add up quickly but not pretty standard
Service: it all depends on how busy they are..
Quality: again, it all depends on how busy they are. I've had a few rolls fall apart on me. of all my many many friends who've been there many many times, only 1 has gotten sick.
Another non-Japanese owned sushi joint but hey, I'm not complaining. Its great getting mediocre sushi rolls for cheap.
Get the lion king and scallop roll
OH SUSHI HOUSE!
i can't imagine life without you. nor does any other sushi lover living in the east bay. if you haven't heard about this place, you must be living under a rock! i kid. i kid. but, seriously, this is the mother of all sushi places, IMO.
lines form and crazy waits ensue because the sushi here is superb. and there's girth to dem rolls. they're friggin' HUGE! me likes! because the last thing i want is to pay hella money for sushi the size of a penny. now, how the hell am i suppose to get full of that?
my faves: the caterpillar and the lambada roll. both covered in avocado and saucy sauce. YUM! YUM! YUM! party in the TUM!
and as far as the prices, they're also decent. $9 ish for a roll. works for me!
only gripe i have about this place is the service. it can be spotty at times. like, hella mean asian waitresses and stuff. can't even crack a smile. but, that don't phase me.
Sushi House is absolutely my favorite place for sushi rolls. Sure, this is not really a 5-star restaurant in comparison with all restaurants of all cuisines BUT it's definitely 5-star for a sushi rolls place, which is all I get when I come here.
My favorite rolls are:
1. Island Roll - Never had a roll like this anywhere else. I crave it all the time. The super thin lemon slices with salmon is perfect on the top of this roll, drizzled with their amazing sauce.
2. Lion King or Bay Scallop Roll - Flavor-wise they're very similar because they're both California Rolls, topped with either salmon (Lion King) or scallop (Bay Scallop) and then baked with the same sauce and topped with tobiko and sprouts. This is the best Lion King (and similar types) roll I've had because the flavor of the sauce that's baked goes best with it (compared to other Lion King rolls at other places). Best of all, it's not spicy. I don't know, I just don't really like spicy sushi. I think it masks the freshness of the fish by overpowering it with spice.
Service is okay, sometimes they're too busy and the waitresses are running around so much that I feel sorry for them. But they refill my tea when I ask for it and they don't rush you even though they're so rushed themselves. Prices have gone up a bit (like $1 every few years or so), but at least the rolls are still good to warrant cravings.
So overall, you can't go wrong with the rolls here. I've tried a dozen other rolls--they're all very good. The few (once or twice at most) times I've tried their cooked items, it was really good too. But what I really crave here are the rolls. I can't wait to come here again--I wish I live closer. I used to come here ALL the time when I was living in the East Bay.
The Bay Scallops are super good. It's baked and has a lovely sauce on it. I would go back specifically for that dish.
We've only been here once and I doubt we'd ever go back. The hostess provided terrible service; we walked in and stood right in front of her for a minute before she asked "how many?" Really? She was too damn busy looking at her phone.
We were here on a Friday night so the place was pretty busy, but I don't get what the hype is about. Sure, they have dozens of very creative rolls, but 2 out of the 3 rolls we ordered did not taste fresh.
Happy Birthday to Aaron C.
This was my 2nd time and the food quality was better. Portions are still huge although the rolls were still not properly rolled; it fell apart. The Crunchy Roll finally lived up to its name - it was "crunchy." But I don't recommend getting the Boston Roll. There was not enough soy sauce and wasabi to give the Boston Roll flavor; it was bland beyond belief. For dessert, we ordered the Tempura Roll. Since Aaron never had it, Claudia and I decided to break him in. He liked it! However, we do prefer to have vanilla ice cream instead of green tea ice cream. The dessert definitely gave back the faith I once had for tempura ice cream especially after the rice-in-tempura-ice-cream fiasco I encountered at E-Sushi. My only complaint - I wish the ice cream wasn't rock hard. It was a little difficult scooping out the ice cream to get the full ice-cream-to-tempura effect of the dessert.

I've never had a food coma after sushi until this place. We only ordered 2 rolls and we were… Read more »
Ok, here's the deal.
(Not like this rating will really affect the average of +1,000 others!)
We walked into this place & the waitress that was playing hostess that day who greeted us at the door was SO rude/b*tchy to us that we literally couldn't bare it & turned right back around and left............
So, we never got to try this place's food. The Wolflady chased us out.
Here's how I see it:
- This place can clearly afford to hire better servers/hosts due to the fact that they're ALWAYS PACKED and on the friggin' beach and everyone and their mom has eaten there before (over 1,000 Yelp reviews people!).
- Since they can hire better people, THEY SHOULD! This lady was so rude to us that we couldn't risk going on and having MORE rude service... we wouldna snapped!
I always hear mixed reviews on the food here, anyway, so I haven't had the urge to want to eat here anymore.
It's also always too packed anyway (you can see from outside) and waayyyyyy too overpriced (check out their menu online)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yucky! F this place!
BAY SCALLOP ROLL FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!! I come here solely for the bay scallop roll. DE-LISHHH!!!
I would give them 5 stars, but the service here can use a bit of help. They are kind of rude, not friendly at all. Fix that and I'll throw in that last star! =D
By recommendation by a fellow yelper I made it out here during the summer....to check out the SUSHI HOUSE in the east bay since I like the one in San Bruno...definitely not the same....
IT'S DEFINITELY ALL ABOUT THE LION KING AND SCALLOP ROLL....they are super yummy and super duper filling!!! I love baked sushi, especially since I don't care to much for sashimi. These were the hugest roles ever and boy are they filling.
Only Cons:
-The crunch roll and crispy roll....not impresssed whatsoever. I'd avoid these ones.
Other Pros:
-This place has reasonable prices and big portions.
- Fried Ice Cream...where the ice cream doesn't that fast. A little wierd as far as combined flavors but interesting.
This place is HUGE and they had like 10 sushi chefs in a row at the counter. Luckily we came here after 8:30pm on a Sunday night and avoided the rush. I can see why they had to relocate locations due to the high demmand oF costumers. This looks like an old office depot building or something because it's in a plaza.
If I lived in the East Bay, I'd definitely come here more often but since I from the South Bay, I'm probably not gonna drive 45+ minutes for this place but can't wait too try other rolls and other things here next time I'm in town.
The pics make me hungry....
3.5 stars....TORN BETWEEN A 3 & A 4
Aside from Isobune, Sushi House is the only other sushi restaurant we'll go to in the Bay. Every time I go here the food quality is excellent! The Bay Scallop Roll, Lion King and Cherry Blossom are my top three rolls that I always order. Don't forget the Seaweed Salad and a side house salad (their dressing is so yummy!) When I go with a large group we order the Sushi House Cruise ship, a combination of rolls, sushi and sashimi... more than enough food for up to eight people for only $150.
A few pre-cautions before you go:
- If you're going on a weekend, plan to be there early. Max wait time = 45min
- Service sucks. Be patient because the food is worth it!
- During their peak time it may take long to get your food so order appetizers while you wait.
I might be a bit biased since the only times I've been to Sushi House was when I was starving. If I wasn't starving on my way there...I was by the time we sat down. The dinner lines are incredibly long, so expect to wait 30 minutes to a hour at least on busy nights.
However, the food is SO GOOD. My favorites include the:
Lion King Roll
Cherry Blossom
Samurai Roll
Bay Scallop
We also had the Sushi Boat once (sashimi only) - and that was pretty darn fresh and tasty. Mmmmmm
If only this place was closer to where I lived and didn't have such long lines, I would be a regular.
I really love sushi...I mean raw fish, no rice, for which they have a very reasonable chef's special for about 16 buck/20 pieces of great fishes.
But damn, if I want a roll, I come here. The Bay Scallop Roll and a salad is a great lunch for one. I almost feel redneck when I tell friends to come here for the rolls because it's so Non-PC, but OMG, they are so inventive and delicious. Rolls usually come in 6-9+ pieces, so bring your friends.
They are usually very busy, which is a good sign. But just look across the parking lot where they used to be located in a 30 seat strip mall slot. That was a long wait! Now they have a fairly long sushi bar, and they also have outside dining with heat lamps. Just put your name on the list and enjoy the view.
I have tried to order my other favorite, tempura udon. Don't bother. I got all of my sushi before my tempura, 30-40 minutes later. They forgot, I think. It's not their forte. Go there for what they do best.
Sitting at the bar, they seem to have some really cool large boat samplers for large parties. I would definitely have a bday party here sometime.
They also have a good sake list, hot and cold.
On a Sunday afternoon, it's the best food and the best view. ..makes me happy to live in the east bay!
keep in mind, they're very busy. service is efficient, but not exhuberant.
I don't even want to give them any stars. The service is very bad here. Really don't understand why many people come and are willing to wait. The food is so so. There are lots of great sushi in Alameda. Don't waste time here.
When we went to Sushi House, there were lots of tables available, but they decided to seat us next to someone, and that someone seemed upset that we were sitting so close to her. That aside, the service was passable until the food came. Then we never saw the waitress again. Also, the spicy tuna was WAY too spicy, beyond flavorful, just kinda yuck. We find that about half of the sushi places we go to have this problem, including Nama and Coach. The worst part was the one piece of fish in my line-up. It was slimy and gross. Maybe that's just how that particular fish is, but I've had no slippery, slimy, gross fish anywhere else.
Finally, since she never came back to check on our food or anything else, we had to get up and go to the register to get the check so we could leave. Again, the place was not busy. They seemed surprised that we left the table to get the check.
Overall, eh. Won't be going back. Bummer, too, because we live near it.
Whenever I tell people that I live in Alameda, the first thing everybody says is, "ooh, I've been there before. Sushi House is delicious!"
After hearing enough of these comments, and living within 2 miles of this place, my girlfriend and I decided to try it out.
Much to our disappointment, it was most definitely overhyped. The service was mediocre, the atmosphere was very loud, and the food was slightly better than your average "quality" sushi. Typically, when I hear this much enthusiasm for sushi from such a large audience, I expect nothing less than absolute greatness.
By no means was the sushi bad. In fact, it was rather tasty. I just could not justify driving 30+ miles to have this sushi like some of the people I spoke with about this place.
One thing Sushi House definitely has over a lot of other sushi restaurants is their selection. They are very diverse with their sushi roll creation. I'm sure some of them are quite good, while some others are again overhyped.
I've since been to Sushi House twice, and both times, ordering different things than the first, I encountered the same mediocre experience.
It makes no sense to sit a 6"5 man and his companion on a tiny table next to the door with tiny chairs.
I myself am 5"2 and found the table and room to breathe to be ridiculously much like a small fishbowl. I could not only hear everything being yelled in the kitchen but I could smell my neighbors sweaty pits and could hear their entire conversation as if it was being played in my ear.
I love a restaurant that sounds like a monster truck rally. It's relaxing and a great atmosphere if you want to commit suicide.
They got our order wrong and insisted we ordered otherwise, even though he's allergic to shrimp and we said no shrimp.
Ah, the long wait. The annoying conversations. The bland overpriced food. The people stuffed in to chairs and tables like a Japanese subway cart.
David was our server today. Instead of Sushi House, I see him working at a Bar or 4-5 star restaurant. His service was above and beyond.
We ordered CA Deluxe, Rock N Roll, Lion King, Island Roll, Spider Roll and Tempura Ice Cream.
Everything was ok. The Island and Lion King Roll was really good. I haven't had the Tempura Ice Cream in a long time. Not a every time thing, but really good.

Lion king, bay scallop, rock n roll, CA deluxe
I was absolutely disappointed with everything at Sushi House. A few years back, I actually thought this was a great sushi house and really affordable so we decided to come back after a long hiatus and day of drinking at Hangar One. We asked the waitress to take 2 separate orders and for some reason, half of the table got their food first and the other half waited about 15 minutes more to get theirs. I think our waitress forgot to put in half of the orders and realized it too late. The rolls were soggy and the fish was not fresh. Everything looked like it had been sitting out for a very long time waiting for a victim to order it up! Aside from looking old, it tasted straight from the sushi boat as well. My husband even complained that it smelled fishy as we walked into the restaurant!
Service was slow, very very slow...I mean, I know we're on an island, but we got places to go and people to see here! Very disappointed and would not recommend ever again!
I used to come by here more often, but since I moved away from alameda maybe once or twice a year.
Before when they were in a smaller location there sushi seem to be more delicious, and more genuine. Now that they moved to the bigger place, its way too crowd to get a table and way to overpriced. There prices has been dramatically raised over the past year or twice. $12.95 for a roll with 5 pieces. I don't its sushi getting expensives or them. Either way there sushi is just ok to me.
First update!
Jack & I went for dinner tonight. Service has really gotten wonderful. Lots of friendly Korean staff that beam when you say "Kamsamnida!" to them. (That's phonetic Korean for thank you.)
We had oshitashi, blanched cold spinach served with tempura sauce which you pour over the spinach. You can taste the iron in it and the sauce adds extra flavor. The ika yaki was also fantastic: charbroiled unbreaded calamares served with a vinegary sauce and mayonnaise both on the side. We got some spicy sauce in addition. Yum-O!
Jack's the fried calamari fan, but he liked this as did I.
We both had donburi, I yakiniku and Jack spicy chicken, both very good.
Plus they brought out edamame with our beers.
Excellent food and service! Arigato & Kamsamnida!

I came back to the Sushi House for my sushi fix. I remember the sushi to be exceptional but I wanted to see if the service had changed.
In the past, you would order your sushi and never see your waitress again. It would always be difficult to get a refill on drinks and quite tough to get the bill. The restaurant was always busy so I figured why not give it another try.
I came on a Saturday night at 945 pm. I knew the place closed at 1030pm so I figured there would not be a long wait. I also had a menu on hand and knew what to order once I was seated.
Once I got inside, I saw it was not that busy. There was no wait and I could see people were enjoying their meals.
We were seated immediately and we ordered at the same time. Within one minute of completing our order we received our first order. Lucky my eating companion stated she didn't think it was our food. I thought the sushi roll was pre-made that's why we got it so quickly. A couple minutes later our waitress came by and took the sushi and said it was not ours. Good thing we didn't start eating already (we were starving).
After taking the roll, our waitress got us our drinks and plates. Unfortunately this was the last time we saw our waitress. Minutes later we received our rolls. We had to ask servers and other waitresses for utensils and napkins. We also had tow wait for our rolls to be served to get the attention of the servers/waitresses.
I did get a drink refill without asking though. Unfortunately it was close to the end of the meal and it was not a refill of my green tea, it was water. I also got the bill without asking but this was due to the fact the restaurant was already closed.
As usual the rolls were exceptional. The sushi rolls were big, tasty, and filling. The service again was a disappointment. I figured since it was close to closing and it was not that busy, my service would have been better. I was wrong again. Price wise, the sushi rolls are on par with other sushi places but figuring they are huge it seems reasonable.
IF you are craving some sushi, this is the place. The service here is horrible but the food is great. If I came back, I would order over the phone.

I LOVE sushi and if I could, I would eat it every day. Every time I crave sushi, I come here. The staples that I need to include every time: Lion King and green tea tempura ice cream. Their sushi is really fresh and extremely tasty. Their tempura green tea ice cream is HUGE and soooo good.
What annoys me: the long wait every time and the consistently slow service.
What I love besides the food: the ambience of the place, which is across from the water. The price is super decent for the quality of the sushi compared to other mediocre sushi places for the same or higher price.
The one star is for the taste of the food. The problem is that the service has not improved over the years. I asked for water after I had run out and...it never came. Also, tea, we asked for tea, but it took so long. When the cheque is ready, it makes it to your table right away. But water. Free water. It's not coming. Anyway, sad. Do they even read these reviews? I'm sure I'm not the first one to say this.
Most likely, not coming back here.

This was my first time here. I went with a group of eight people and we ordered the Super Cruiser ($200). It was gigantic, but they gave way too much sashimi. There's a total of three boats. One had lobster. Of the other two, one and half of the boats were sashimi so there were barely any rolls. =[ I don't know why this was the case because I've seen photos where there was exactly one boat with sashimi and one boat with rolls. I was kind of disappointment. The only roll I enjoyed was the one that had spicy salmon in it. I don't really like sashimi but I tried the sea urchin...and omg. It's probably an acquired taste.
The location is gorgeous. But I don't find smelling the sea air very appetizing when I'm eating sashimi...which tastes like the sea air, imho.
My table also ordered the fried ice cream, which was good. Not really sure how anyone can mess up fried ice cream though.
I would probably come back and just order the rolls.
Best place for sushi for your buck! The sashimi is always fresh, the portions are good, and the rolls are really good. My favorites are the Samuari, Lion King, and Cherry Blossom. This place is crowded and ther wait is long, so get there early and put your name down on the list. Trust me, it is so worth the wait!
I don't eat anything that lives in water except rice, cranberries and seaweed...so when a friend says lets drive to Alameda from San Jose to have sushi..I'm like great! (sarcastic)...the company is worth it though. There is a distinct smell to this place...bleh! (fresh fish doesn't smell) They added onto their waiting room, not the restaurant at one point which says something....I guess. We ate in the outside area. Most things came up quickly but the order got a bit confused. The most exciting vegetarian roll was good but not cravable by my standards. Edimame was standard. My fish eating friends: one loves it, the other thought there was better in SJ.
Just had the oyoko donburi again. Tasty and no gastrointestinal problems, so whatever they did wrong in the past seems to have been remedied. (You may ask why I continue eating something that has caused me GI tract problems before? I don't know why.)
The salmon sashimi appetizer was great, except they delivered my appetizer to another person at our table who ate a piece before she realized that it wasn't a part of her bento box. When we complained to the waitress, she said she wasn't the one who delivered it to our table. Like that makes it my problem? Once again proving that Sushi House has lousy service.
There was a wait for a table at 7 PM on a weeknight, but it wasn't a long wait.

I realized that Sushi House isn't one of the "cool" sushi places to go to these days, but our last experience there was pretty outstanding. I have spent lots of time in various Asian restaurants and some of them are pretty shady (but delicious). Sushi House is like any island cafe you might find in a strip mall in Hawaii, but the food is amazing. My party and I shared the Lion King roll, Bay scallop, Crunchy roll, and Orange blossom. They were all good, tasteful and we enjoyed it.
Depending on day and time, this place can get busy. The staff seemed friendly but dis-interested and I never recognized any of them. The service was less than expected and though the restaurant was fairly busy I would have hoped for better.

My wife and I have had some good meals and service at the Sushi House in Alameda a few times in the last two years. Today's 4 Nov 2009 meal was a disaster.
We were quickly seated and asked what we wanted. We ordered a california roll (which was delicious) and tea to start. After about 10 minutes of waiting for a server to come to our table, we flagged one down. We placed our order for fried tofu (agidashi), saba soyaki, and an eel and yellow tail roll.
The fried tofu spaced me out; bad oil does that to me. My wife could not eat the roll -- a roll she has had hundreds of times in many different Japanese restaurants. We called over the manager to describe what happened. As we were talking to the manager, a nearby waiter asked if the eel was greasy because it had not be cooked properly.
The manager offered to take the items we had problems with off the bill, or give us those items for free next time we come. My wife and I just wanted get out of the place, so we opted for the free items next time; even though we did not intend to return.
my best friend brought me to Sushi House last week for lunch to celebrate my birthday with me. First of all, I love the location and the look of the restaurant. Although it is in a strip mall, the unique look and location makes it seem almost existent on its own. I love that the windows are large in the restaurant and you can see the bay and also San Francisco not too far away.
we came for a late lunch around 3PM, so luckily we didn't have to wait and the service was quick. service was okay while we were here. maybe because it was a slow hour, but our server was just kind of whatevers.
for lunch, we ordered miso soup, house salad, the Raider's roll, A's roll, Hella Hot roll, and Cherry Blossom roll. The Raider's and A's roll were both very similar, yet delicious. The Cherry Blossom roll was very fresh, similar to many other sushi restaurants. The Hella Hot roll was pretty good too, I really enjoyed all the spicy components to it - added with wasabi, it was some delicious fire in my mouth!
and one huge plus: when we got our takeout boxes, I noticed right away that they use corn/greenware (not sure which it was) products. big kudos for being environmentally friendly and using fully recyclable boxes!
Anyhow, I would love to return to Sushi House again. I really enjoy the view and setting. I also want to come back to try more rolls since I don't think the rolls we chose really allowed me to taste the potential of the restaurant. I think I would have maybe enjoyed some other rolls better. Oh, last but not least, the rolls here are huge!
I remember back in the days when they were a tiny hole in the wall in the other part of the shopping center. Back then customer service was nonexistent, the Korean waitresses with poor English skills were rude as hell and couldn't understand the concept of "separating the udon and the soup into 2 containers." When you ordered takeout and they told you 20 minutes, you show up and ended up waiting another 30.
Things have improved quite a bit since their move to the new bigger location a few years back and they now hire these young high school/college kids who can at least communicate. Still crowded as hell on most days during the lunch and dinner rush so always go early. What recession? People are still stuffing their fat faces. The food is actually pretty good and the rolls are huge, but I'm pretty sure that real Japanese sushi rolls aren't supposed to look like they've been injected with steroids. This place is Korean owned but I guess many people don't know the difference. Kamakura on Santa Clara Ave is more authentic since it's Japanese owned and the sushi is made by real Japanese sushi chefs.
I think I've been spoiled by Sushi House's huge rolls because I always compare the size of it to every other Japanese restaurant I go to. The quality of the roll is still good although it has noticeably gone down ever since the relocation of this restaurant from another part of South Shore. And as much as the service and long wait sucks, I still come here from time to time to indulge in their Dynamite Roll and the best Chicken Terriyaki donburi I've ever tasted! I like their green tea too but they are very hard to get a hold of for refills.
Also, they have TV's in the restaurant dining and wait area. At the times I've been there it was showing ESPN sports games and even The Simpsons once.
Just A-OK, service is slow, not attentive, A little pricey for what you get however food is good, have not had anything negative to say about the food. Do however order the Lion King Roll and/or the Bay scallop Roll
why such lil stars??
I came here with my friend who was hungering for some sushi, now i'm from sf, so going all the way here, must mean something. the location was pretty, right by the water. The wait wasn't too long, and the place looked really nice.
we ordered the lion king, crunchy, chunky, anddd hella hot. and a appetizer thing (meat wrabbed mushroom thing)..once again only for two ppl cuz my friend ALWAYS overorders and i shoulda known to stop him...X____X
soo
the crunchy roll- it wassss good, when i bit it instead of trying to shove it in my mouth cuz that was a failure cuz it was HUGE x__X i've prolly tasted better (like in santa cruz at totoro) but it satisfied salty cravings haha
the chunky roll- hmm...where to start....had peach sauce thing, that was cool....avocado? unagi...and bunch of things....it was goood..lets go on
the hella hot roll- it was hot..yes butt it almost tasted like the chunky, looked the same style rolling...soo maybe if we only got one or the other then it woulda tasted different?
my favorite! the lion king (at least i think thats wat it was)- YUMMY! the salmon? i think that was grilled on top was really flavorful! NOMNOMNNOM i forgot wat was inside but yup, i liked it, not dry not too saucy.
oh yea the appetizer came after the sushi...weird...lol coulda done without it as we were hella full with half of the hella hot and chunky left. the wrapped mushroom was a little weird...unique tasting...but alright.
the service wasssss okayy, the girl was really nice, guy was watever rushy-ish but nothing to complain about. whoo i would come here again maybe outta a random day. whooo foood yum
This place has a ton of reviews! I have at least 7 or 8 friends who LOVE this place, and 1 or 2 who think it's okay.
I do like sushi/sashimi, but I never have a craving for it. Thanks to Sushi House, I think I may start having cravings for sashimi...
Here's what we had today:
Crazy Horse - "lots of veggies!" say my two friends. It looks cool though and was pretty goodl.
Ichiban - mmmm I really liked this one because I love unagi and avocado. My friends thought it was a little "mushy."
Lion King - I think this is what everyone HAS to get when they come here. It was pretty good, but perhaps it was little overhyped for me. Or maybe it's because I'm just not a big fan of cooked salmon, haha.
Spicy tuna - This was good, but a little too spicy for my tastes.
White tuna sashimi - YUM!
Salmon sashimi -YUM YUM! I think I like salmon now...at least salmon sashimi...I still don't like cooked salmon!
Long wait, but probably worth it. Unfortunately it was gloomy today so we didn't get a beautiful view of the bay, but I'm sure it's usually really nice!
You know what kinda people like going to this place?
1. Men who like big portions
2. Men who like a lot of food for what they pay
3. Families with lots of kids
4. Late High School and College Goers on a budget
5. Teenage Boys who want to get full
Why? Because you don't come here for the quality - you come here for the portions.
If I never had to come here again, no tears would be shed. The quality of the fish is just average but this place really works for the population listed above. You get a good bang for the buck but it's hardly memorable. When you leave, all you'll remember is that you got super full for a moderate price. You definitely won't remember anything about that service except that it's rather slow and served without a smile.
Personally, I'd rather go grab some rolls at Nijiya Market and eat in my car in a parking lot. Nuff said.
