Sushi Delight is one of my favorite places to get sushi. Actually I love this place so much that I debated writing this review. Sometimes I don't like to share. =P

It's VERY affordable--we're talking $7-$8 for an excellent specialty roll. Happiness to my poor graduate student tummy that craves quality sushi. =)
It's a "fast food sushi" type of place. But don't get turned off by the term "fast food," and it's crappy location (a little hole in the wall restaurant in a rundownish strip mall near USC). Their specialty rolls have never failed me, I especially like the Hot Night Roll and the Crazy Roll.
Give Sushi Delight a chance, you wont regret it.

Sushi in the ghetto, delivered to your doorstep. That alone gets three stars. The area looks rougher than it is. on that corner I used to do laundry at midnight across the street, by my self, so trust, you'll be ok.

The sushi itself is fresh, never fishy, big rolls. The King Kong roll is a bit hard to handle, tempura, imitation crab, veggies & crunch topping. The sauces can be a bit watered down, but their bentos are awesome.

Let me start by saying 3-stars because it's a 1-$ place. If it were a 3-$ it's be getting a 2-star.

That said I was impressed. $60 with tip for  3-1/2 appetites, so under $20/head. We had the 18 piece sashimi, three rolls, edamame and four soft-drinks. Sashimi was beautiful looking, smelled clean (no fish smell at all), but somehow some of it tasted watered down. Not sure how that works! Just... a little bland. But still good. Pieces were HUGE, that was a nice surprise! Rolls were good, quite large, nice presentation and tasty. Crab meat is all imitation (says so on the menu) but they don't skimp on it.

Locaction sucks though. Guys getting arrested on the corner, homeless people milling around, that sort of thing. But the parking lot had an armed security guard so at least I didn't feel like I couldn't park my car there!

I'll go again if I'm in the area and craving fast cheap sushi. Can't beat the quality for the price!

I'd give this 0 stars if I could!  Sure the sushi is decent and cheap, but their delivery service is the absolute worse.  The last three times I've tried to call for delivery, all they did was pick up the phone and left it on the counter.  THEY  NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE.   Each of these times I was on hold for 5 minutes before their phone disconnected me.  The last time I called 5 times and waited 25 minutes, and still no one answered the phone!

The worse part was that I could hear them talking in the background.

Fast, tasty sushi for cheap. If you're crunched for time, in the USC area, and craving sushi- this place is for you!  It is hidden in the back of a little strip mall. It is like a fast food joint.

1. Walk in
2. Order and pay at counter
3. Wait for food.
4. Eat there or take to go

I actually found this place on yelp. We were looking for a sushi place near the USC area so we'd have enough time to eat and go back to our hotel and get ready for New Year's Eve.

The people who worked there (the owners?) were really nice. They brought us water and hot tea and bowls of rice to whoever wanted it.  A lot of the specialty rolls are pretty huge. I ordered the King Kong which was seriously coma-tastic. The price is decent, and the sushi is made when its ordered. It isn't half bad. It tastes heck of a lot better than the stuff you find in the refrigerated section of 7-Eleven or a grocery store.

No Alcohol sold though though.

Went there last night because of all the Yelp reviews and was DISAPPOINTED BIG TIME.

Their main ingredients: imitated crab meat, blended tuna (not fresh), tempura shrimp and avocado (not fresh). They put too much weird tasting sauces on their sushi which totally ruins the original taste. Unfortunately I couldn't taste the difference beween their rolls since since they all are the same. Mixed Tempura was bad too because pumpkin and yam were still very hard, not fully cooked. Edamame had been boiled too long and lost all the original flavors, but they to sprinkle some sale on the top (yuk)....

How I see why their sushi rolls are so cheap......will never go again even if they pay me!

Diamond in the rough....

This place makes the ghetto... well, not so ghetto. For such a crappy area, who would think you could find an awesome sushi place! The quality is awesome, the freshness is on par with expensive places, prices are very reasonable and the staff/owners are really friendly. I love sushi, but sometimes I just feel like it needs to be outrageously good to be worth the price. When I go to sushi delight I get the best of both worlds. The only thing that could make this place better is to open up an identical place in San Diego and be open on Sundays! I just hope they keep the prices down and the quality as is.  :-)

I came to this place because of YELP the reviews were good it made me and my husband want to check it out. MY husband totally enjoyed the food however me on other other hand had a different perspective on the joint. I ate the beef bowl and it was nasty it had a sweet weird taste to it. I had two types of sushi rolls on the side i don't remember which ones they were but i remember they were also nasty and they also tasted weird the crab meat was too mushy. Although I do have to say that my husband did like this place and wants to go again. If I were to go again I would try something different just to join my husband.

I found this place on yelp as well!
Me and my friend were looking for a sushi place around downtown that was pretty close. We went and omg what a find!
I thought I had to settle for Soy Sushi but hell no, we went to this place twice this week because we wanted to try everything in the menu. (and we shall by end of this year I hope!)

Soy sushi costs about the same and said they made to order... made to order my ass! They brought it out in like two minutes and the portions were sad. This place has pretty big portions and its really delicious. I tried spicy tuna tempura roll and las vegas roll and going to try tempura california roll later, I know whatever I try though I won't be disappointed!

EDIT: I tried so many rolls I lost count (I also share with my friend). I had crazy roll, ninja roll, dragon roll, adams roll, philadelphia roll, california tempura roll, albacore delight roll.... and probably more. I think I was only disappointed by the albacore delight roll (I think) and abit by the dragon roll. I don't remember as much at this point! Alot of the things taste the same because it's same sauce/meat in different forms. but anyhoo they are usually good. I've been wanting to try the king kong roll but I'm sorta terrified of it at the same time hahahahaha.

I also tried the spicy tuna salad (I felt really healthy after eating this, haha. Mostly no salad dressing so if you like dressing, (I don't) pass this) and the bento box. Bento box is HUGE. There's ALOT OF food. If you like eating/food or just a plain good deal get this!

And I think it's hilarious how some people are whining about quality ingredients. This is a fast food joint. Be happy you aren't eating those overpriced USC sushi crap from Tro Gro for the same price! It's like looking for steak at McDonalds. If you want real crab meat/fresh tuna goto an authentic sushi place that costs 3 times as much as this place!

I just went here today, I thought it was just great! It was cheap, nice and the place was pleasant and clean. It is located in a very unassuming strip mall, passed it the first time, but after I entered the restaurant, I immediately felt comfortable. It is a great convenient place to pick up sushi without having to travel distances. Definitely recommended for students living nearby on a budget.
