Neighborhood: SoutheastTHE RESTAURANT AT THIS ADDRESS IS NOW YOKOHAMA.
I never would have tried this place if it weren't for friends who live across the street in The District but I was pleasantly surprised.
There's nothing I HATE more than poorly made sushi that isn't rolled tightly and falls apart when you try and pick it up. Yokohama fortunately does not have this problem -- their low key and friendly chefs do excellent work that tastes great, is presented beautifully and make TIGHT ROLLS that don't fall apart. I find sitting at some sushi bars pretentious or intimidating but enjoyed the experience at Yokohama.
I had a late dinner which meant I could take advantage of their late night happy hour which features 2-for-1 Nigiri sushi and $1 all cut rolls.
Their happy hour prices for sushi were good given the quality but glancing at the menu their dinner entres seemed a bit pricey.

The location makes this a hidden gem. Every time we go the place is lightly populated, even during dinner rush hour. The place is set up like a low-key, comfortable Japenese restaurant, no trendy, mod furniture or decorations here. Their sushi bar is in the shape of a U, with a moat with boats that float around it.
The sushi chefs and staff are always friendly and very attentive. They are great with kids.
The food is fantastic and I always love to see what special creations the chefs are offering. The fish is always fresh and the flavors wonderful.
I've been to a number of sushi restaurants in the metro area and this one is by far my favorite. I love the atmosphere, the food and the service.
As far as another review mentioning that it's like a sports bar, in all my times at this restaurant, I have never felt that way. There are a couple of TVs near the sushi bar, but the volume is so low you can't hear it even if you sit at the bar. If you sit at a table, you don't even notice them.

It looks far more like a sushi shack than a bona fide restaurant, and its unheralded, buried location behind a Marriott hotel in South Denver is a killer crowd-wise, but the sushi is some of the freshest you'll find in town.
Perch yourself at the circular sushi bar, and order one the chef's top-drawer spicy tuna rolls. The cooked stuff -- tempura, teriyaki chicken, and noodle bowls -- is fine, but it's the dazzling raw bites that deserve the highest praise.
An odd twist is that the joint also doubles as a sports bar, which means that there are TVs here, there, and everywhere showing non-stop game coverage.
