My roommate and I recently wanted to take a mini vacation in PTown. We've been there tons of times before, staying in different hotels in PTown and Truro, but never had we ever stayed at Surfside.

My roommate and I opted for the cheaper room (which we assumed to NOT be on the water), but they must not have filled up on the waterfront side, because we had a room overlooking the beach.

The rooms are nice, and spacious enough for excess luggage and the sort. One thing that might be a turn-off to people is that on each floor there is a deck that runs the whole length of the building, which is accessed by sliding glass doors in each room. I say this might be a turnoff because I know that some people get easily aggrivated by noises of other guests, or are simply concerned about safety.

But whatever... my roommate and I didn't mind this. A plus about this place is that you can bring your dog - the guys in the next room over brought along their whippet, and it was so cute.

When we went, the pool wasn't open, but oh well - no big deal.

One area that we wish were updated is the bathroom - it lacks an exhaust fan, so when you take a shower, expect to be in a steamroom. Oh, there's a window to open, but it opens onto the hallway, and people can see in quite clearly if they're passing by.

The hotel itself is a little bit of a walk from all of the "action" but my roommate and I appreciated that, simply because we didn't want to deal with noise, and we're always up for walks. Right next door is an awesome restaurant, Fanizzi's. We had dinner there on a Saturday night (make a reservation!) and it was very good. The following morning we opted to not go to the hotel's continental breakfast and went to Fanizzi's brunch buffet. Does the word "buffet" turn you off? Trust me - it's well worth it.

All in all, my roommate and I were both thoroughly impressed with the Surfside, and we intend on staying there again.

$180 for this?!  small room with nothing updated.  not clean, definitely not worth $180 a night.  The room is beachside which is nice but the room itself has a shared balcony.  the bedding is dated, dirty (cigarette holes), the bathroom's just blah, the floor's dirty, and the room's kind of small.

Oh, and the wi-fi cost $10 a day for little to no signal.

What do you do when it's peak tourist season, you need a quick hotel reservation and you are so tired of bargain hunting that you are willing to land your chunky white ass in the first somewhat reasonably priced hotel that you can find in P-Town? Stay at the Surf Side. This is a just fine place to stay. We paid a little extra and had a ocean side room with a patio. This was actually pretty great, though I could have paid less and just walked around the building and had the same experience I suppose. Whatever, they have a pool, porches, clean rooms, parking, said beach view and are about a 10 minute walk to P-Town proper. All in all, not a bad place to crash out.

My husband and I had booked a room overlooking the beach for our honeymoon, and we were very happy with it. The room was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Just being able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean was worth the price, which was pretty reasonable anyway. We had required a late check in, which they were able to accommodate. The continental breakfast was great. They had a self-serve waffle station, which was awesome, along with the makings for egg sandwiches, fresh fruit, cereal, bagels, juice, and coffee. The only reason that they lost a star is because I suspect that a room on the other side (not on the water) would not have been worth the price. The rooms could use some updating, and it's not that close to the center of town.

I stayed during Womens Weekend, hotel had a great continental breakfast  and location.  The room was reminisicent of a musty basement but otherwise fine.
