I like to think of this beach as quintessential New England: meaning rocky, wild, and full of seaweed. It's definitely not the prettiest or the most comfortable of the beaches in Falmouth, and I usually don't go here often.

On the plus side the parking is only $10/day for non-residents (as opposed to the usual $20 for the more popular beaches) and it is much less crowded (though this really is due to the fact that it's pretty sea-weedy and rocky). This beach also sells food and has outdoor showers which is quite nice.

Overall, this beach is good for a late-night stroll or to get the feel of a real "New England type of beach" but not that great if you plan on swimming.

Growing up since childhood summering on the Cape in Falmouth, it was always a treat to go to Surf Drive Beach.  You could sit and enjoy your coffee watching the waves and you could swim safely without wondering if you're going to scratch the heck out of your feet on the shells, glass and rocks underneath the water.  When we were hungry or needed to use the bathroom, we could easily go to the bathhouse.  However, now, if you're not a resident of Falmouth, you have to pay $10 for a daily pass and it is only good for specific parking lots.  So even if you did not like it there and wanted to go to another town beach you'd be restricted and need to pay potentially again.  Lots of big seaweed also but sometimes that is something that cannot be controlled as it is related to nature and the tides.
