Just like Aroma Bakery Cafe in Tarzana: this is Israel. Get used to it people! If I see anyone complain here about service or cleanliness or friendliness of staff I will just go hide in a cave. Super Sal is also my home away from home. Bamba, Bisli, chocolate from Elite, Wissostky teas...but Mr. Super Sal please lower your prices on Milky and Danny! What is an everyday food there is a special treat here. Point is if you want to know what real Israeli shopping is go here.

Sometimes I am at odds with my Israeli heritage. As only one parent is a chosen person and the other is a gentile, I don't exactly fit in with the typical person you'll find shopping here. That's the honest truth. But no matter how I feel about that, I am full blown Israeli when it comes to the food. Bamba, pitas, Sabra hummus, Moroccan spicy sausage that fills the air with spices, Eshcolina, and everything else you miss from visits to Israel are here for you to enjoy. Prices are not expensive and aisles easy to navigate. Ok, I'm really hungry right now...

Welcome to Israel! If you want to experience a taste of an Israeli market, this is the place to go. Products from Israel abound, Hebrew is heard on every aisle, and the groceries and home supply products are straight from the Holy Land. Prices are reasonable and it has a good butcher section, a deli section, a ton of frozen foods, health products, home supply products, cereals, spices, fresh veggies and fruit, etc. It's a decent size place (about 6 large aisles) and a great place to roam around (and practice your Hebrew skills).

My husband is Israeli so we have begun shopping at Super Sal. He loves the Lebni selection and we both love the meat...especially the Kabobs. I am learning Hebrew so i enjoy hanging out and listening to everyone speak. The produce is not bad but the selection of hummous and baba ganoush is great. we buy our cleaning supplies there as well...and don't forget the israeli wine...Yarden chardonnay is delicious!
