Super Duper Burgers

ONLY reason why I gave this place 5 stars is because of their chocolate banana shake - it's freaking amazing!

3.5 stars for my lettuce wrap burger which needed a little seasoning umph, otherwise very fresh and juicy. If there is a next time, I'll throw in some bacon :D

Fries were nice and crispy - also needed a tad bit more seasoning.

Maybe it's just me being on a sodium kick but, their spicy pickled cucumbers had a nice unique flavor that paired well with the burger.

Came in and ordered two cheeseburgers and a strawberry lemonade.

Service: 10/10, super fast and really nice staff

Strawberry lemonade: 1/10, completely sour to the point it was nearly unbearable to drink.

Burgers: 10/10, bread was so soft and tasty along with the delicious burger & cheese. Everything about the burgers were delicious.

Ambiance inside was great, definitely could come back again if I was in the area craving a burger! Yum!

My level of excitement and anticipation was already heightened, due to this being only my second visit to California. So if someone nonchalantly goes around labeling their burgers "Super Duper", they better be able to back it up. This means not just the burger (and bun) are of quality, but I need condiments galore. Pickles, better be so crisp you could iron on them. Sauces, flavors I've never even heard of. And if you get slack with the fries or the shake, I'm out like last week's video trend.
I immediately am drawn to the Truffle Burger; grilled onions, roasted portobello mushrooms, monterey jack cheese, and truffle sauce. Like the dessert aficionado I am, I did plan ahead and order a shake. Figuring out where to set a ice cream cone while I ate didn't seem like a good idea (and I for sure was not getting back in that line). Chocolate and fresh strawberries won that round (also, all shakes are organic).
Now listen, let's talk about their environmental impact for a second. One of their goals is to minimize their carbon footprint. One way they are doing this is with 100% compostable packaging. Also, they source from local farmers who have the highest standards of humane practices and quality products. This includes nothing ever being frozen, housemade pickles, eggs from free range chickens, and an artisanal bun. So needless to say, but I will anyway, it was all delicious!
I could have ordered the ice cream because that burger and fries were gone long before it would have melted. The team there should do trainings for anyone who wants to run more efficiently. The line was long, but it was a well oiled machine (no pun intended) for getting and completing orders. Someone was constantly checking the condiments area (gotta keep those pickles stocked) and cleaning the floor and tables. My own regret? Going only once. If I ever return, I will not repeat said regret.

The best burger place in the City. And the menu has so much more, even for kids. They have a seasonal menu that has some great choices. And the fries! Heaven!

What an amazing burger! Was very tasty and meat was tender as can be. The fries weren't out of this world, but they were still good. Their sauces were something different--all three were good and I loved the pickles. Thought the prices were pretty fair, too.

To be honest I haven't been in awhile so I'm looking forward to my next visit then I'll have the double!

Super Duper Burgers is an absolute institution in the Bay Area. It was born in this Castro location in 2010 and gained so much popularity that they've expanded to 16 locations across the Bay Area. They focus on locally sourced ingredients with zero waste. Starting at $7 for a quarter pounder and $10 for a double, it's definitely one of THE best burgers for its value. I'd give it an 8.5/10. What is a 10 though is their soft serve; they absolutely make the best one in the city.

Went for a quick bite. The service was good and the food came out quickly even during a rush. First time here, and they were patient with me. I ordered a mini burger because it is just one patty. Also, I got the garlic fries. The taste of garlic was nice. No vampires near me for a while because the garlic was strong.

I love Super Duper whenever I'm craving a burger; the original location in Castro has a lot of seating, and you order directly at your table with a QR code. I ordered:

* The Mini Burger with jack cheese (+$0.75), bacon (+$1.50), grilled onions, and jalapenos
* Garlic Fries

Their ingredients always seem fresh, and the fries are the right amount of crispy. The burger tastes great on its own, but I love that there have a lot of additional customizations that you can make. The garlic fries were stacked with freshly-grated cheese and lots of garlic. My total after the tax and tip was about $17 for both. The staff are friendly and the food came out quickly. I recommend!

One star because after over a decade, SuperDuper still be can't get its web presence figured out (in San Francisco, which is arguably still a town full of web designers.). Every online ordering platform you've ever had has been substandard. Even now Toast forces us to manually enter our entire phone number and then a code every time?! I'm using the same iPhone, so just remember me like every other app on my phone does now in 2024! Year after year all of your problems are obviously still management not working half as hard as we see everybody in your kitchen working. Here's an example: just entered ZIP Code 94110 into your website and instead of your website giving me Market Castro, you give me Napa. See pic.
