You'll be safe as long as you don't touch anything...

Super Bear Arcade is like a two legged blind dog with cancer that no one has the heart to put down.  This place was great when I was a kid... the problem is that nothing has improved or changed- it's just deteriorated.  I always stop by this place to check it out when I'm in town, but it's more for nostalgic reasons.
Yes, they do have a lot of great classic arcade games, the problem is that a large majority of them don't work!  And the games that do work, look terrible and always die or stop mid game.  The .25 cent skeeball has jagged metal edges around where the balls come out, the tickets are rarely dispensed, and even if they do come out, I don't want to earn 200 tickets to redeem a 9 year old jolly rancher.
The left side of the place looks like it's perpetually under construction.  There are old broken glass cases and some pillows and blankets... and judging from the look of the tweeker looking employees, I'm sure they do sleep there at night.  I loved this place when I was younger- classic games and fun prizes, but with everything broken or in the process of breaking, dirty floors, and shady people working there, I couldn't recommend this place to anyone... unless they want a good laugh.
I use to love this place and still love the idea of this type of joint, but Super Bear Arcade fails on all levels.  I was there as a kid, but would never ever let my kid in this place now.  However, they did have a lovely sign near the door as we were leaving (See the picture section above).

Kind of a depressing place, in a very cool way. I'd love to shoot some sort of indie film here. It's cute, and it doesn't deserve to be forgotten. Although I haven't been in years, it will always hold a special place in my heart. Hmm... I am actually thinking I should stop by this weekend!

This place has lots of classic games.  On a Monday night, off-season, we were there by ourselves.  My boyfriend found a lot to stay entertained with.  I stuck with Skeeball for a while.  With the hundred tickets I won, we got 2 little parachute-clad aliens, and tried them out outside.

Galaga, Pac Man, Dig Dug, Punch Out, Pole Position, Donkey Kong....... Do I really need to go on or is this enough to get you off your ass and  up the mountain to visit this historical classic arcade??? I had read about this place on a classic arcade directory and decided to take the risk of going to check it out. We got to this joint and on the outside it read "Super Bear Arcade, Home of The 25 cent Skee Ball since 1959". Once I saw that I knew I was home. I had my 1 year old Golden Retriever with me so I was all sketched out but, when I got to the door this really nice old lady walked outside and said " he is more then welcomed inside". On the inside what to behold and arcade thats covered in pure gold, well not really but it should be. This place has all the classics that you can ever think of or have played and yes for only 25 cents. Alot of of the games were down and out of service but, if you are a true classic coin-op enthusiast this place is like a video game hall of fame museum. Oh and as for the little old lady, shes amazing, she came out with treats for my pup to keep him busy while daddy was trying to get the high score on Galaga and Ms. Pac Man. Oh yea and another great perk is that if you want to pick up a nice buzz before trying to defeat Donkey Kong, there are all kinds of watering holes like pubs, bars, saloons, "yes I said saloon" at every corner!!! This place is a must for all classic gamers!!!

All the old games you remember, a walk down memory lane...the only problem is that these are probably those exact games you played 30 years ago.  This would be a really cool place if at least 60% of the games worked; and they mopped the floors.
