Once upon a time, I stood in this same building.  It was a Service Merchandise.  Last night I was here again.  Only now it's a country western bar.  That alone was like a trip into the twilight zone.  My friend's husband does audio for the bands that play here and he lured us here on Halloween night with the promise of an amazing costume and the fact that we wouldn't have to pay the cover.  This place is one of the weirdest places I've ever been in my life, and I lived in Missouri for four years.  Here are a few examples of why:

    1. The dance floor, populated by robotronic line dancers looks like a roller rink from my middle school days.

    2.  No beer on tap, only whiskey.

    3.  They sell westernwear here.

    4.  A hefty cover?  In the burbs?

    5.  My friend's husband was almost beaten to a pulp by a drunk cowboy.

I was wavering b/w 2 and 3 stars, but I'll be nice for now.  2.75.  That said, the service was friendly and the drink prices were tolerable.  I would never come here on my own, or pay the cover, but I always welcome an excuse to make fun of others.  I just don't want to have to pay to do it.

Apparently they also have hip hop nights and Latin music nights which probably have a different feel.

I don't know what's going on with this place, but they used to be SO awesome! My friends and I came here about a month ago, all excited to go country line dancing. We got there and it was "latino night" on a friday... there was no one there except for the bar tenders and the... five? djs? Why there were five, I have no idea... But that was the loudest music I may have ever heard in my life.

We were all really disappointed that we couldn't country line dance that night : (

I miss the old Sundance Saloon...

    Wow.
Went out drinking with friends. This place was dead silent [people-wise] between 9-12 on a Saturday night. And of course since we were the only people there, a group of less than ten, they decided to make last call around 11. And yes, as others mentioned, there is NO beer on tap. So NO pitchers. What's worse is when I go to check my bank account the following Monday and see not two, not three, but FOUR charges from the bar! What part of open tab means charge me four times? And boy when you call their number before they're open to complain about said charges, the gal on the voice mail just sounds THRILLED to be there. I got pissed off just listening to half of it and hung up.

I guess $3 is a decent price for PBR during prime bar time, and the free pool was kind of nice, but not nice enough to make up for everything else.

    The Moral of the Story:
Save your drinking time and go somewhere with an actual atmosphere and crowd.

Not sure what is going on with The Sundance. Last time I was there (early Feb 2009), the place was dark on a Saturday night and people were milling about outside.

Later I heard that they had closed and then even more later I was told that they were still open but had lost power (say what??).

The sign outside says it is going to be remade into a banquet and catering company. Really now? In this economy?

How I wish this place were much closer to home.  Like right next door maybe.  I am a country music fanatic, and this is the place to be for both dancing and catching live bands (US 99.55 has big name artists here quite often-tune in to find out.)  Never tried line dancing, just come here on a Friday night, and there are people here doing instruction courses for free.  I really just come here mostly for the music (sometimes it's hard to find a bar around whose patrons won't kick my butt for playing country on the juke.) but they also have a good price on PBR both bottles and on tap.  This location is much bigger than their old location in Mundelien.  They also have private rooms for parties.  The best perk of this place though- bunches upon bunches of men in tight jeans, with tight butts, and cowboy hats on.  (That's just my personal opinion though.)
