This place is awesome. I can't believe how delicious all the food is! Raw and/or Vegan, it was all amazing!

We started with the nachos. The chorizo is spot on. The cool creamy texture of the sour cream and cheese really made me feel like I was diving into a big plate of meaty nachos- without the fat or guilt!

Mac and Cheese- really good. dish looked small but it was tough for me to finish it!

BF got the corn cakes- great savory taste. The spices and flavors are really spot on.

    Dessert! WOW!
Raw Cookie Dough Cheesecake- how do they do it!! 5 stars!
Raw Key Lime Pie- tastes like the real thing! very satisfying!!

We used a http://restaurant.com certificate but would go back no matter what. The service was excellent and we were talking about the food for a week after dining here.

    Can't wait to go back!

I am completely in love with SunCafe. I come here just about everyday.
The food and shakes here are my favorite of any place, and most of the stuff is raw! The atmosphere is super cute if you decide to eat in, the shakes are amazing, and the raw green juice is a must have for me everyday.
Another thing I love about this place is the service. I've tried every vegan/raw/blahblahblah type place I could find in the valley and in Hollywood/weho area, and also when I travel, and you always feel like the people are just a little overboard hippie and just...well...not very nice. I come into Suncafe telling them I'm hungover and they just laugh it off and recommend amazing juices/coconut water / salads to make me feel better. Great awesome service and people running this place. The best food EVER . I usually get a salad and a shake or juice and it comes out to around $20...not the cheapest but I have yet to find anything that can compare to this place and don't mind paying a few extra bucks!

Also....a lot of so called "healthy" or vegan places still have not so good for you stuff on the menu. I feel like at Sun Cafe, you can't really go wrong with anything you order here! It's all amazing enzymes and nutrients for you and it tastes incredible! yum yum yum.

Wow, I'm very impressed with SunCafel. Tried it on Saturday night on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised.

Sometimes the owner of this place comes to my gym and hands out samples of kale shakes. They are super yummy. I thought that the restaurant was a "walk up and order" type of place, but it turns out it is a really lovely sit-down place. In fact, we were dressed very informally, expecting a (veggie) burger and fries kind of place, but it is very civilized.

The food is vegan and has many raw options, as well as gluten free. If you're a meat eater, don't let that deter you. The chef knows what's up.

Tried the avacado hand roll, pad thai, and seitan dish. The star of the night, though, was the raw lemon raspberry cheesecake. It was light, flavorful, and just the right amount of tartness.

Our server was super friendly and knowledgable. She provided us with a lot of recommendations and was attentive.

    We will definitely be back.

WOW.  So impressed with this place!!!

I follow the Paleolithic (or Caveman) diet which excludes all grains & legumes.  Most meat substitutes are usually made from grains or legumes so I was sceptical they would have much for me to choose from.  My bf had tried their "grain free" pizza & loved it.  I figured I could always go with a salad, if nothing else, & begrudgingly agreed to go for dinner.

Once I started looking over their menu, I actually noticed many "grain free" options.  A lot of their stuff is made from nuts & seeds rather than grains & legumes  =)

I got the pad thai with kelp noodles & OMG it was amazing!  I am now searching for a good source of these noodles so I can add them into my repertoire (they are very similar to asian style rice noodles).  The fresh cracked coconut juice was super yummy!  My bf went with the grain free mexican style pizza & LOVED it!  The texture of the fau-rizo was not like regular chorizo but the flavor was an exact match ~ weird! (in a good way).  To drink, he had the green juice & seemed to enjoy it.

The waitress & hostess were very friendly & attentive.

All in all, for a fully non-vegan meat eater, I was very much pleasantly surprised!  I would definitely go back here for another delicious, healthy meal!

This place is amazing. I reviewed another raw vegan restaurant the other day so I just had to try this one to compare. Wow, first of all, the people are so nice and welcoming. They seem genuinely happy that you stopped by and patiently inform you about the menu and make recommendations, which is very helpful to us newbies to the raw food thing. I had the lasagne bolognese which was delicious. My daughter had the portobello mushroom sandwich and opted to have it on real bread. A nice touch for those of us still transitioning to this new way of eating. Like I said before, the place is so welcoming and not snooty (unlike that other raw place in Santa Monica). If you do go here, try one of the desserts. They are amazing. We had chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake and I can't believe how incredible it was. As someone with a huge sweet tooth, I walked away wondering how I could possibly eat something that good and have it be good for me too. No guilt whatsoever and yummy too!

My go to place for fresh organic vegan food. Small and cozy this friendly people spot has hands down the best raw food around! Unless your in my kitchen you'll look long and hard to find better!
I recommend The Kale Colossus as a starter. The soups are always fresh and change daily. The nicest wait staff I ever have met! See you there!

This place has amazing food!  I've been twice and I had a difficult time trying something new because my first meal was so awesome.  Here is what I've tried:
Avocado Handroll - Tried to recreate at home but no luck.
Mexican Pizza - To die for!
Kale salad - It's gotta be the dressing that makes it so good.
Kale Shake - Yeah, you must try this.
Super Cacao Shake - fantastic dessert.
Key Lime Pie Cheesecake - Very delicious. It's much heavier than what you're used too so I couldn't only eat a few bites at a time but my BF had no problem wolfing it down.
    My friends had and enjoyed:
Lasagna - I also liked it.
Mac and Cheese - It was warmed and yummy.
Sun Burger - I didn't try this but my friend polished it off even when she was full.

I want to try everything on their menu but honestly I can't get enough of what I've already tried!
Everything is very filling so don't think you'll be hungry just because it's raw and vegan.  Also, bring your friends that don't normally eat raw or vegan because mine were very satisfied and quite surprised at how delicious and filling a raw food restaurant could be.

The staff seems very knowledgeable and passionate.

The restaurant itself is nothing fancy to look at and it doesn't have it's own bathroom! You have to use the weird gaming store bathroom next door.  Strange.

If I could afford too, I'd eat here every week, get a shake every day, do their juice cleanse and take all of their cooking classes.

Creative, out of this world vegan art food! Truly amazing! The chocolate dough cheesecake is a must-try! But everything on their menu is just as good. I am amazed with the creativity and the heavenly cosmic orgasmic flavors. I've tried their pizzas, the avocado-cucumber soup, sushi rolls, some of their sandwiches and definitely a big fan of their kale and cocoa shakes. I would recommend this place to everyone, residents and out-of-towners with adventurous taste buds.

This place is incredible.  I read the only bad review by "Mrs and Mr. Me" and his review sounded a bit snobbish if you ask me.  But, I digress.  Did I say this place is incredible?  Well, I too came with my "Mrs." and we also had a $25 coupon.  However, our experience was entirely different.

We saw an early play in Valley Village on a Sunday evening and my wife suggested that we head over to Sun Cafe since it was pretty close.  First, I was surprised (and delighted) that the place was open on a Sunday evening and was even more surprised that they are open until 10pm.

Anyway, we enter the lovely place at about 8:30pm and was greeted by an extremely friendly hostess who told us to sit any where we would like.  We took a quiet table in the corner and was then greeted by an amazing waitress.  Both of them introduced themselves and said to just ask if we had any questions.

I was very hungry and it was difficult to choose because after reading the description of an item I said, "I think I'll have that."  Then I would read the next description and I would say again, "I think I'll have that."  My point is that there are many deliciously sounding items on the menu.  The waitress saw I was having a bit of trouble deciding what Starter to order and she made a couple suggestions.  We ended up getting the Lettuce Leaf Tacos.  WOW!!!  They were beautifully displayed and tasted even better than they looked.

We then placed our Entree order.  My wife got the Mac and Cheese.  She originally wanted to get the Lasagna, but wanted something that she wouldn't make at home.  Now, don't get me wrong, my wife would make Mac and Cheese, but the way the waitress described it with the Tempeh Bacon on top sounded out of this world.  Plus, since my wife doesn't particularly care for mushrooms, the Mac and Cheese was a good alternative.  I ended up ordering the Kale Tacos with Quinoa.  Another WOW!!!  They were incredible.  The sauce on them was divine and the hot sauce had a nice kick.  The flavors explode in your mouth.  I only ate 3 out of the 4 because, 1) I wanted to enjoy leftovers the next day and 2) I needed to save room for dessert.

For dessert, my wife got the amazing cookie dough cheesecake and I had the cacao shake.  We dined for about an hour.  We didn't feel rushed and the food came out very timely.

The waitress was very attentive and we enjoyed discussing the various items on the menu.  She checked back often and politely asked if we were ready for the check or if we wanted to just relax a bit before we left.

We will definitely make this place a regular stop and I would recommend that the couple people that give a bad review to give it another shot.  I try not to let first impressions sway me too much, but for us this first impression knocked it out of the park.

    Thanks!

SunCafe is me and my best friend's go to spot during a healthy gym or hike day! We both aren't vegan but really enjoy the food for a change. The staff is very knowledgeable and always answers our ques ions. The Lettuce Leaf tacos are my favorite! Also, last time I was there, I had the portobello mushroom fajitas! SO GOOD! Make sure you bring quarters for the parking meters and order coconut water... it comes in a fresh coconut! Super cute :-)

Sun Cafe is a small yellow painted eatery on Cahuenga Blvd with a plant-based and dairy-free menu. Voted by http://bestofraw.net as the Best Raw Food Restaurant in Los Angeles, I wanted to give their organic cuisine a try!

Can't miss the beverages, they take up a third of the menu with fresh juices like: apple, beet, carrot, celery, cucumber, ginger, kale, lemon, orange & spinach and smoothies and shakes like: sweet kale, cacao, superfood, strawberry superfood, mint shamrock & pineapple superfood.

The Fresh Young coconut is re-fresh-ing! cold & served cracked to order.  Make sure you ask for a long spoon to help scoop the coconut goodness from its shell.

I passed up my usual salad and sandwich options and went for the Specialty Supreme Pizza.  Talk about different, this was my first experience trying a raw pizza.  The raw sun crust texture was crunchy, the ingredients of rustic marinara, sun chorizo, tomato, cashew
cheese, marinated bell pepper & onion was surprisingly good, a nice sweet n spicy blend to healthy pizza

If i wasn't in a hurry I would have tried dessert, the Raw Cheesecake and dark chocolate brownie looked most divine.

The reason for the 2-star is service is lacking! The workers are naturally beautiful and although physically present and pleasantly sweet, they are beyond unfocused. Utensils  were forgotten, side orders wrong, no quality check-ups, had to walk to register and ask for check.  To no fault to the workers the bathroom was out of commission, the bathroom they recommend at the game shop next door is dirty and disgusting!

I've now taken 3 meat-eating friends here and all three were pleasantly surprised by how delicious raw vegan food can taste.  Many of their entrees are available cooked as well, not just raw.

Their raw SunChorizo is DELICIOUS, and they have several menu items (ex. Supreme Pizza, Nachos, etc.) that use it.

    Some of our favorites include:
    -Lettuce Wrap appetizers
-Nachos (I love getting this raw style with jicama "chips" rather than tortilla chips, but you can do half and half too if you prefer for $1 more)
-Their pizzas (the SunCrust is SUPER filling and this entree is very satisfying)
-Kale salad: it's usually massaged very well so it's soft and the dressing is SO good

The lasagna (comprised mainly of cashew cheese, zucchini, SunChorizo) was decent, but it's an extremely small entree size (it looked about 2"x2"x2" in size).  The pita chips that came as a size seemed to dwarf the lasagna.

They have a dinner special every night and breakfast options are available earlier in the day as well.

The prices are reasonable given the high quality of the food.

Started with a fresh chopped coconut to drink... Yum! My wife and I then split the tacos and Shepard's pie - both were sublime, we are ever scrap, seriously. For dessert a cup of banana dulce tea and pumkin pie. Oh. My. God. So damn good.

If everything on the menu is this good my head will explode. I plan to find out...

Their servers are wonderful, and the nachos are great, but I've had some other dishes that could use a little refinement. The sun burger needs a little something to make it more moist. And the dressing on the kale salad is too thick and heavy.  I like a less opaque, light and lemony dressing. I'd like to see something a little more unusual on the menu...seems like tempeh "BLT" is kinda overdone?

Overall, though, a decent joint and I'm grateful they are close by my house. I think I need to try a 3rd time to know for sure. The lasagna looks really intriguing!

    Update:
Today I had the Green Juice--so refreshing and just the right balance of apple sweetness to vegetal greenness.  Is that even a word?  And also the Tostada Salad.  I was worried it would have that gooey thick dressing the kale salad did, but it was WONDERFUL!  A raw, dehydrated corn tortilla bursting with corn flavor topped with all kinds of fresh greens, avocado, pico de gallo, raw sour cream and a few different kinds of spicy nut pastes filling in as "cheese".

I'm a believer again!  I order that tostada salad and sometimes a lucious vegan chocolate cupcake every week.

This was my first vegan experience, and I'm so happy it was SunCafe!  We ordered the nachos raw and cooked, and while the jicama was tasty with the nacho toppings, I preferred the blue corn chips. I have no idea what the "chorizo" and "nacho cheese" were, but the flavors were spot on.

The spicy avocado rolls were good, and I loved the pad thai.  Cilantro is one of the main ingredients in both these dishes, which is why I was such a fan.  And the food is definitely filling.  I need to come back and try the kale smoothie and the desserts when I haven't consumed so much other stuff!

I ordered takeout from here after an interview at the Hilton Universal. The staff was really friendly and my food was ready super fast. From what I saw of the inside it looked cozy and warm with a nice dim ambiance.

I ordered the mint shamrock smoothie which definitely held up to all its hype. It was creamy and smooth and had a nice mint flavor that was just sweet enough to be reminiscent of mint ice cream but not quite.

I also ordered the supreme pizza on the pita crust. The crust was really nice and crunchy and a perfect base for the pizza. The sunrizo was surprisingly delicious as well. The sauce was really good too. I would definitely order it again. I had the veggie sticks and dip as my side which were nice. The dip was kind of like a tangy hummus.

What I love about this place is that their dishes are different from the average vegetarian or vegan restaurant.

I had an awesome experience eating here with my friend.  I like the unique concept of raw food.  I have only ever been to a raw food restaurant once before, in Santa Monica.

For drinks, we got the shamrock and kale shakes, both were delicious and refreshing!  We ordered the lettuce leaf tacos, pesto pizza, and kale salad.

Service was good, our waitress checked on us often.  We sat outside.

My boyfriend and I tried this place the other day on our way out of town and we enjoyed it!

We got the mexican pizza and BLT sandwich. Neither of us are vegan or even vegetarian, but we are huge fans of healthy, nutritious organic/raw food. That particular day we had both pulled an almost all nighter helping our friends with last minute wedding preparations and we were pretty wasted from the lack of sleep. We pulled up yelp and this place popped up as close by and had great ratings. We knew we needed some energy food that was going to boost our immune systems and help us recover from the all nighter so we headed straight over.

The BLT was good, the "bacon" wasnt my favorite, but thats only because Im not a big fan of sweet "meat" things. My boyfriend really enjoyed it and he LOVES bacon.

The Mexican Pizza was my personal favorite. Suuuuper YUM! The raw crust is incredible! And the "cheese" sauce was amazing too. Ive been thinking about this Pizza since we stopped in and I think Im going to have to go back soon to get it again! It's more like a flat tostada with the crunchy raw crust, but not matter what its called its still YUM!

The service was fine, I think they could have been a little more attentive to our water bottle - we drink tons of water and emptied it pretty quick. But we didnt have to go without for too long.

After our meal was over we ordered two superfood shakes to go for some extra fuel for the drive we had to make. I dont remember what my boyfriend got, but I got the Cacao Superfood and it was AMAAAAZZING. I wish I could have that every time I crave a "chocolate" shake. Cacao is SO much better than prepared chocolate and you just cant beat something that tasty being that good for you!

All in all we had a great experience and are looking forward to coming back!

The Kale Collossus salad is amazing.  I also love the Raw Pesto Pizza.  The nachos with jicama/blue chips are great too!
I thought the Cookie Dough Cheesecake was incredible BUT I wish it was half as sweet.
My favorite dish was the Tofu Curry Salad, but they took it off the menu. It used to just be on the lunch menu, but if I came for dinner time, I would ask and they made it for me!  I wish they would bring it back.

Who would've thought vegan food could taste so good!?

Skeptical about coming in, I thought everything would taste bland and washed out. Wrong!

I wasn't going to beat around the bush with a fuckin' BLT so I decided to try out the Sun Burger made out of sunflower seeds, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes & spices served with fresh kale. De-li-cious. Refreshing, invigorating and clean. I also got the sweet kale shake which is supposedly ranked #1 smoothie in LA. This one is a must. I couldn't get enough of it, I ordered a second one :3

This place was quite busy and the staff was super nice and enthusiastic about the food. Loved answering questions and giving information on everything they serve. I am definitely coming back here.

amazing food, amazing quality. amazing staff. Ashley was our server and she made us all feel high on life when we left there.  The only reason it is not 5 stars for me, is because the food tastes habit forming, and the prices are a bit steep for me to frequent as much as my taste buds would like. With that said, you are paying for quality, and taste. mucho bueno.

Ate here twice in one week because it was so good.  I'm new at vegetarian/vegan and am a real foodie so I've been searching for really tasty vegan food to get ideas of what I can make at home or have out.  At my first visit, my boyfriend and I shared a few things.  Who knew that a kale shake could be so amazing?  Seriously, we've both been having cravings for it since.  We also shared the nachos 1/2 raw, 1/2 not, and it was amazing.  The "raw" side was jicama instead of chips.  We also split the pad thai which was good but I can't say I'm a big fan of kelp noodles.  On my second visit I took my two kids who are trying to eat healthier.  We shared the corn cakes which were delicious along with a bowl of vegan mushroom soups (amazing) and mac & cheese made with quinoa pasta...so far this has been my favorite dish.  Will definitely go back again and again!

Vegan restaurants encourage you to indulge on desserts first. The people there are really nice too. I went in after my workout and two women could not help themselves and started talking to me about the food I ordered. Envious that I had a milkshake to go along with my avocado salad.

On another day I had the Super shake and a Mexican torta for a perfectly rounded twenty bucks. I was really full after I had this meal. I felt good and wasn't hungry for the rest of the day. Depending on what kind of person you are this meal just isn't for you. Sure you can take the same amount of money you just spent on a shake and torta to an XL large Dominoes Pizza and two liter coke or a steak dinner at Black Angus.. or not. It depends what road you are taking in your diet. I swear people are more hung up on the amount of money they pay than their diet itself.

I wanted one of their cupcakes once but they informed me the chef who makes them no longer supplies them. Cookies.. they have cookies.

Do not park in the parking lot where Good Neighbors is. I was warned by this so try finding parking elsewhere.

Yes it can be somewhat expensive but I went to the back in the kitchen there were a lot of people back there working hard to make the food we eat. I appreciate that. They are working to make the foods really appetizing and good for you.

OMG...omg. This place is soooo damn good. My boyfriend and I came here by searching for a place to eat on yelp. I'm so glad we did because the food and service were fantastic. He had the macaroni and cheese and I had the italian sandwich. For dessert he had the  Cookie dough "cheesecake" and I had the raspberry lemon "cheesecake".  The food was so healthy and filling we were nice and satisfied for the whole day. I can't wait to come back !

I KNOW??! ME??!! Reviewing a VEGAN restaurant????! And giving 5 stars at that?! Yes, I'm a meat-eater, so my bias is naturally against this place. With that said, I've discovered vegan as a wonderful cuisine and this is probably the best of the best in vegan that I've had to date.

My history with vegan food is one that should go right in the genocide/war section of the history books. It hasn't been a good one. But I'll admit it, I've experimented a bit. So confused. I may be bi-cuisinal. Some of the vegan food and meat/cheese substitutes I've had  in the past were....how do you say....NAAASTY! But this place literally started my love affair with vegan. Oh SunCafe, GIRRRL *3 snaps, V-formation*,  I owe you one!

From the look of everything, the place, the food, the menu, and the staff, you could spot the vegan from a mile away. But from the taste of the food, you may think twice!! Everything tastes really fresh and you can tell it's vegan food, but at the same time, everything tastes as delectable as any meat dish. Their substitutes for sausage, chorizo, and different cheeses are amazing. And they taste like what they're substituting (to an extent). It's crazy! Given, it's all a bit messier because they can't use the products that hold things together, but just grab a napkin and go on witcha bad self!

My coworker is a staunch meat eater and resisted me for so long in eating vegan food with me for lunch. But I finally broke him down at his weakest moment and he accompanied me to dine-in. He was highly skeptical, but in the end, absolutely LOVED the food he had. Meat eaters, use him as an example, you will not regret trying this place.

Here are things I've had and would recommend trying:
--SunPower Pizza (which may be called the Supreme Pizza now, not sure)
--Raw Kelp Noodles - choose pesto sauce over marinara, yum! (and yes, you can tell it's kelp, but it's not super-fishy if that's what you're imagining)
    --Italian Sandwich
    --Sun Nachos
    --Portobello Sandwich
--Lasagna Bolognese - a bit smaller than expected, but delicious.
--Any of their shakes! I've tried their cacao, sweet kale, pineapple superfood, and mint shamrock. DELICIOUS!! And for dine-in, it looks like you get a HUGE shake in comparison to take-out, but it's one of those deceiving malt glasses. It's the same amount--yes, I tested. NERD.

--Against my initial judgments, their desserts are actually really good too! The Fruit Flavored and Cookie Dough Cheesecakes are yummy, despite lacking the essential dairy ingredients needed for cheesecake.

These people are either vegan magicians in the kitchen or they made a deal with satan because this stuff is beyond any expectations you will have. Oh, and the staff couldn't be any more friendly and accommodating. That's always a HUGE plus. Just try it once! You'll be hooked....and healthy!  BTW, parking WILL give you trouble, be prepared.

    Also, they massage their kale...teehee.

KALE SHAKE! This should be enough to make you go here. It sounds questionable, but it is delicious! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The beet salad is one of my favorite things to order, I also had a friend who got the kelp noodle dish and loved it!  minus one star for location and lack of parking. The Cahuenga corridor is a nightmare sometimes. Otherwise I would say the effort is worth it.  I'm debating trying their juice program....

I can only guess at this point that I enjoy wasting money because that is becoming the most consistent thing about going to SunCafe anymore. Unless we're going for a smoothie, I think this place is no longer one of my go to spots.

Things that have become annoying about Sun Cafe:
-price increases every time we go
-inconsistent quality of food including items that are incredibly dry, almost burnt, overly soggy and quantity of food
-items removed from menu every time we return

I've been going to this place for years. It was awesome when it first opened. Now, I avoid it (despite living incredibly close by) unless all other meal options are less convenient.

The items my boyfriend previously ordered are all no longer on the menu, including:
    -Mexican torta
-Blue Corn Kale tacos w/ quinoa
    -BBQ burger

To say the least, this is irritating to him when there is no explicit statement that this is a seasonal menu and every time we go back and he is craving something, what he is craving isn't available.

Recently he got the Beet salad. Menu does not state it is tainted/flavored with nothing by cilantro. If you are a cilantro super taster like me, it's horrid.

I also recently got the Sun burger, one of my old standbys. It was SOOOOOO dry. I had to keep on dipping the burger in the excess water from my kale salad it was so difficult to choke down. (Now that I look at the menu again, I think they didn't include the special sauce, which would have made it maybe a little less dry.) Although the kale salad was the least disappointing aspect of the Sun Burger, the kale is now in a super chopped form that reminds me of eating something that someone else already chewed and spit out on the plate. I miss the leaves of kale.

For a meal that is $15 a person, I really don't want to be choking down my food because it's so bad.

Me and Mrs. Me ate here for the third time this week.  It was a week night and we wanted something light and healthy after work. We printed a $25 coupon to redeem some "dining dough".   It was a cold night and we were chilly from the walk from our car to the restaurant.  When we arrived there was one table occupied.  It was around 6:45 PM.  We were greeted by a woman and given the option to sit wherever we chose.  We noticed that it was cold inside and that there was cold air blowing from the ceiling vents near several tables.  We chose the least cold table.  We gave the waitress/server/unemployed actress the coupon.  MISTAKE !

We then asked the waitress for the tea menu and explained that we were cold and wanted hot tea to warm us.  My wife then asked where the bathroom was and was told that it was out of order but that she could go next door and use the bathroom at Poquito Mas. .....Just then the husband of Mrs. Me thinks...hmmmm I wonder where the staff washes their hands.....  Okay, next we have the server's attitude, but let me preface it that veganism is not rocket science and just because we're over 50 doesn't mean that we don't get it.  So, it's now 7:05.  We've ordered our tea about ten minutes ago and WOW, no tea yet.  Mrs. Me ordered the Shepherd's pie and Me ordered the Veggie curry.  And thank you dear waitress for telling us that sweet potatoes are a good source of protein....BTW sweet potatoes have about 1/5 the protein that tofu does....So there we sat, still waiting for our tea and with a mildly combative server.....Okay, at 7:15 the tea comes.  Mine is fairly hot and Mrs. Me's tea is tepid.  When smartypants came out of the kitchen she seemed to know that the tea was not hot.  Very annoying.... She explained that the machine that heated the water was not working properly...I commented in an asshole tone that maybe the cook doesn't know how to boil water.....We decide to leave, but we can't because we've essentially already spent $25.  She returned with another tea for Mrs. Me and before she could run and hide I put my finger in the tea to demonstrate that it was not HOT.....  So now it's 7:25 and a guy comes out of the kitchen to tell us that the paper that the order was printed on got messed up and that it couldn't be read and that our food would be out in a couple of minutes. THEN he asked us what we ordered.  Definitely put the cart before the horse here.   So, about ten minutes later, the tea comes out HOT followed by the food.  The guy was correct about it coming in a couple of minutes.  He just didn't specify which two minutes.  Okay.  Food time...... Shepherd's pie my ass. A deep dish with a blob of whipped potatoes filling 80% of it with a few other veggies at the bottom isn't exactly what you'd expect, especially after the attitude princess explained that the dish was potatoes and veggies....it was served with a kale salad and the taste was decent.... My veggie curry was a sweet and good tasting blend of root veggies and coconut milkish sauce with some quinoa on the side.  Actually tasty.

Bottom line is that we will not eat in here again.  Bad experience.  Well over an hour to grab a "quick" meal.

The place has potential, but the relatively high prices, outrageous, unacceptable service and holier than though attitude must go.

First time to a vegan restaurant.  The food was amazing!  I ordered the BLT ( at the servers suggestion I added avocado) my friend had the pad Thai and added tofu. We also split a Kale shake.  The BLT was the best and I am going to stop by to get the shake!
The waitstaff were so friendly and helpful.  I cannot wait to return

I got the kale salad and soup combo, they had the raw cream of mushroom soup that day.  I loved the soup more than the salad!  The kale salad was a bit too dry for me, but the soup was just perfect. The thing I like the most about my meal was that I didn't feel gross after eating it.  The pot of white tea I got was really good, and I love that they refilled my hot water.

Service was excellent, the lady who helped us was very friendly, helpful, and patient in answering our questions.

LOVE doesn't even begin to describe my feelings toward this place.. The only thing BAD about it is the fact that I can't eat here EVERY DAY!

My friend turned me on to Raw Restaurants and this one offers a LARGE range of variety.  Some of the items may be a tad on the bitter side... but even those are still great.  I adore the fact that they change up the specials to provide you with a little sumptin' sumptin' extra now and then.

Yes it's a little pricey.. but you get what you pay for... PLEASE STAY IN THE VALLEY SunCafe.. we've already lost two raw food places in the past 1 1/2.. so SUPPORT people.. it's a great places to dine in or take out...

Before catching a movie my friend suggested we come here for lunch.  We were kind of in a time crunch but we were seated right away and the food didn't take long to be served.  I'm not a vegan, she is, but the food was fantastic.  I had the portobello sandwich with a kale salad and it was amazing.   Reasonably priced and great service.  We arrived at around 1pm so parking was not a problem.

    Great place!

I went here with my friend a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised. I have been to many vegan restaurants so I was excited to see what this one had to offer. We got a pizza and lettuce tacos. I was shocked to see how raw everything was. Everything was so healthy and fresh! The tacos were delicious and the pizza was good but I didn't like the crust.

It took us a while to find the place because the sign isn't that big. Parking was rather easy because there are lots nearby. The staff was friendly and our food came out soon after we had ordered.
