Fun in the Sun!
This is one of Daytona's newest parks, and is a great place to go on the weekends. However, since this is right in the heart of Daytona Beach, there are generally a lot of tourists and kids running around.
The Good:
Looks cool: There's all these really intesting sculpture-like poles with little fish statues on them. Okay, that sounds a little weird, but thiss place really does *looK* like fun. There are lots of bright colored shade spots as well, and the whole place looks like the perfect day at the beach.
Play at the beach: Sure, you've been to the Playground, and you've been to the beach, but at Sunsplash park, you can go to both! The playground here is quite nice, and there's even a little interactive fountain that the kids can play in.
The Bad:
So many people... : This place tends to fill up very fast, especially on the weekends. Generally the playground is all full up and people are all cloistered together. Even if you go early, there's are so many people here even then that it doesn't really matter.
Even though Sun Splash Park is a great facility, the crowds really make it a secondary place for me. I much prefer the quiet tranquity of Winter Haven. But if you don't mind the people, then Sun Splash will fit the bill quite nicely!
Overall 7.9/10= Fun in the Sun Splash!
Great fun for young kids. It's in an iffy area and there are some strange people there sometimes. Safe, but keep your eyes on your kids as a good parent should at all times. It's right on the beach and they have bathrooms and outside showers.
