Welcome to a Day in the Life of Krissy M. In this addition, Krissy and her friend Kim are 16 years old, and decide to run away from home... To a hotel down the street from Krissy's house. Let's call it 'The Summerfield Suites,' shall we?
By the time K & K decided to stay here, they'd already experienced a power outage at the Simi Valley Holiday Inn, and had been rejected by the Marriott for being minors. At this point, Krissy should've probably advised Kim that running away from her parents for the night wasn't going to make everything all better, and suggest that they go back to Krissy's (since Krissy's parents knew what was going... As did Kim's, actually). Alas, the girls decided to stay here instead.
Upon arriving at 10 o'clock at night, the runaways were told that all of the double-bed rooms were booked, and all that remained were expensive suites or king bed rooms. K & K bucked it up and opted for a king bed to share. After being handed the key card, they walked the long way around the outside of the building to a lower-level room. After fumbling with the magnetic stripe in the dark, they inserted they key in the slot and.... BAM! Opened the door to reveal four or five Hispanic-looking children asleep in the bed, with no adults present. Krissy quickly backed her caboose up and shut the door, only to erupt in a fit of crying-so-hard-you-can't-breathe laughter. "WHY ARE THERE MEXICAN CHILDREN IN OUR BED?!" was all Kim could get out between gulps of laughing/crying. So they trudged back to the office, and regaled the night manager with their story.
He. Was. FLABBERGASTED. He just kept saying "but there's no record of anyone in that room! There's no one there!" Ummm, yes Billy Joe Bob, there is. That has been physically verified. So BJB apologized profusely and offered the girls a chance to stay in the suite for 2 nights for the price of one. Getting to run away for a whole extra day?? Ka-ching!
Krissy and Kim were very happy with their upgraded suite, which resembled a small two bedroom apartment, complete with kitchen. In fact, they became so comfortable that they too considered staying there under the radar. Alas, it was decided that despite being 16 and blonde, the girls were still not quite as cute as the sleeping babes they'd found, and they came to the conclusion that anyone who found them wouldn't be nearly as ok with it.
It's been almost 8 years since that incident, and to this day, the girls-turned-women still wonder if they were to go to that room on the farthest corner of the first floor, if they'd spy possibly-illegal children sleeping in their bed. Though now they'd be older. Ohh, the possibilities...
