One of Sultana Restaurant's Favorite Reviews What's This?
a recent dinner for 5 of us was just wonderful. the service and pleasant staff is one of the best you can find. the food was great, although, next time i wouldn't get the appetizer plate just because it is too much food! our dishes including the pistachio kebab and the divan kebab were so good and the spinach with garlic yogurt yummy, yummy, yummy.
two bottles of a french merlot that was perfect. high reccommended!
I have been to Sultana a few times. I like this place. It is very family oriented. And most important they have a vegetarian with vegan option plate. Their breads came out really fresh and hot. I like hot fresh bread so i will definitely add 2 points just for the bread.
The service is good, food came out fast and hot. The price is in the medium high side (for my budget).
Waidy

Came here against my better judgement, lured by the coupon posted on Yelp. If you come with a group, beware, each coupon is only good for two entrees (even though I had called in ahead of time to ask about their policy, and was told that one coupon was good for 3 people/6 entrees). We ended up paying $16 each (5 people in our group), which in my book is WAY too much for mediocre food (some of it even BAD... read on...). STRIKE ONE.
My mussaka was cold. As in, out of the refrigerator, onto the kitchen counter... not even popped into a microwave. Plus it was bland and possibly the worst moussaka I have ever tasted. STRIKE TWO.
J's bursa iskender was warm (thankfully). The meat was pretty tender, but the bread that sat under the meat was a mushy pile of ick. Add to this the fact that there was a gob of congealed oil (dripped from some other dish? Who knows?) in the yogurt sauce... disgusting. STRIKE THREE.
The two redeeming qualities of Sultana that saved this review from being 1 star was 1) very good service, and 2) warm fluffy bread (but only one basket. Subsequent baskets were cold and tasted like they had just been taken out of the fridge).
Sorry Sultana, but three strikes and you're out.

The ambiance is nice, quiet, and sort of romantic. They have lots of the pot pipes displayed around the area which I found pretty fascinating.
With the 50% couple of a 2nd entree, it was no hesitation to try the place out.
The bread was soft, warm, sweet, especially delicious dipping in vinagrette with grounded black pepper. I asked for more vinagrette and a second load of bread.
I ordered a Kofte and my boyfriend got the Chicken kabob. I thought the meat were not bad. Not too dry...but the chicken didn't have much flavor to it. My dish was better. There were five big pieces. I loved the long green pepper...perfectly grilled. The rice was also another favorite of the dish.
Overall, it is on a bit of the pricier side. I like eating Mediterranean in a very informal environment where I can use my hands and fingers to scoop the meat and rice =P

Food was OK but service was excellent. Our friend Khir brought us to this restaurant in 2008 and we fall in love with the food. We came back again in 2009 with some friends but the food was not the same. Maybe we did not ordered the right dishes. Overall it was 3.5 stars. We love patio dining.
Long overdue review of this very good, not pretentious place!
I used to work down in Menlo Park and went there for lunch quite a few times. I usually stick to the chicken or lamb kabob plate or sandwich, and those are excellent. Just recently, they got more beers to choose from too, so that's a plus!
I really like seating in the little patio on sunny days. The servers are always polite and professional and the prices very reasonable.
Last time I went there, one of my colleagues found coupons online and we didn't know how many we could use but the waiter (manager?) let us use a lot of them; he was a little surprised because he had put them online only the day before. But after we paid, he gave us even better coupons that would not expire as quickly as the others!
So this place is great... unfortunately I wouldn't drive all the way down there from SF just to eat, but if this was in the city I would go very, very often!

Good Turkish food ! (you've got to go to Turkey, though if you want to experience the "real" thing- my advisor at UCSF still raves about it- total American guy who happens to love Turkish food :) )
I'd say go for the cop sis kebap- I think it's their best value. For desert chocolate baklava with ice cream is good- and I'd recommend kunefe. Pretty much everything you have here will taste decent- the only downside is it's a bit pricey- but I think you get your money's worth-

Love love love this place. Great food, great decor/environment, and a very pleasant staff.
Anything you pick of the menu is going to satisfy even the most picky eaters, and with a calming environment and thoughtfully decorated interior, Sultana is a must for anybody living on the peninsula.
Also, the $30 dinner for two is a slam dunk for a date or couples dinnner, try it!

This place is definitely the defintion of A-OK. The dining rooms are beautiful, the decor is simple and IKEA inspired. In fact, I think I have the same mirrors they're hanging in both rooms...but I digress. After meeting my sister's new boyfriend for the first time and not liking his suggestion of trying a pizza place (pizza can only come from Chicago by the way) we agreed on mediterranean near his place.
We came in on a weeknight around 8 p.m. and found the place strangely empty but I suppose that's normal for the Menlo Park area. There was a scattering of small groups here and there just politely having drinks and appetizers. Our host greeted us and offered us the option of sitting in either dining room or dining al fresco which on a warmer night would have been lovely.
So there we were awkwardly staring at a menu while he was making small talk and filling in the silence as I studied the menu intensely. I'm used to Persian and Greek food but Turkish was suppose to be new for all of us. The server described it as being similar to Persian cuisine but much more olive oil. Oh yes, that made it sound appealing.
We ordered the hot appetizer combo platter which filafel, spanikopita?, sigara boregi and salad. It wasn't like anything I haven't tried before so honestly I'd say it's just like eating out at any other mediterranean restaurant except with more oil as the server said. It was a little odd sharing two platters with kofte and a chicken kabob between three people but apparently the new boyfriend doesn't like eating much so we could only share two.
Both platters were very similar and while there was hardly much meat on each skewer, the salad and rice combo on the side was a nice complement to the meat. It was all a little overpriced for what we got-fried food, dried meat, screaming kids running around the dining room but overall it just fell a little short of being worthy of a second try.

After reading all the great reviews, we printed out the coupon on Yelp and went to Sultana for lunch.
The complimentary bread was soft, moist and went very well with the butter. I usually try not to fill my tummy with bread, but their bread is pretty addictive. The server had to give us a second basket because we chucked down the first basket of bread very quickly.
The 2 entrees we ordered were pretty impressive as well.
Musakka:
Not the typical Musakka we've had at other restaurants. I believe the way they prepare here is kind of different. The taste is very simple, clean and crisp. I kind of appreciate that the chef seems to respect the original texture of each ingredient. Instead of soggy, wet or overpowered with any kind of sauce, each ingredient remains in it's own fresh texture and you can still taste the natural flavor of the eggplant, meat, onions and potato.
Pomegranated Kebab:
A very unique dish and it wasn't anything like we expected.
Ground lamb & beef wrapped with spinach over garlic yogurt topped with fresh pomegranate and pomegranated sauce. Again, the chef kept the original taste and texture of the meat very well. The yogurt worked very well with the kebab and spinach. The kebab was covered with fresh pomegranate seeds on top. The fresh pomegranate added some tartness to the dish and once again, it worked surprisingly well.
The pricing is very reasonable even without the coupon and the portion is adequate. The service is friendly and the setting of the place is not super formal but classy. We'll definitely come back again.

Going here reminded me that Downtown Menlo Park is perhaps a little under appreciated. It is definitely not as popular as downtown PA or Mt View. This is nice stretch on Santa Cruz that has some good restaurants and stores. Check it out if you have not been there before.
I was Very very impressed with Sultana. Thanks to yelp for the recommendation. I really liked everything about this place. The service was quiet and efficient. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which was nice. Everything we ordered was excellent. I highly recommend the following dishes.
- Cacik - Yogurt based appetizer. Very good. Wish they served it with the thin middle eastern bread.
- Spanakopita - Yummy.
- Sultana Falafel Wrap - Surprisingly good. Good portion.
Chocolate Baklava- first time I have had this and loved it!
Based on my experience, I have a feeling that all their dishes are going to very good. I highly recommend Sultana.

This place is YUM! Okay, it's taken us a while before venturing here, even though we've heard good things. I think cause through the window it always seems so un-kid-friendly and we never seem to match the craving with the mood of the kiddos...
But, one night I was seriously craving humus and kabob! I ordered late-night (for parents this means... 9PM), and went to pick it up! I ordered humus, greek salad and the combination kabob. It was A-MAZING! Wow! That humus was like ice cream, it was so smooth and didn't have that tart bite to it. It was seriously something you feel you could spread over anything and it would improve it's taste! Okay, maybe not poop, but seriously, just about anything!
So then the next night, we wanted more, SO picked up some more treats from there on his way home from work! YUM! We did the humus and greek salad thing again and this time tried the Musakka! YUM, again! Dang!
This was all last week. Now just last night we had another craving, so we went back, and this time ate at the restaurant with the kids. A Monday night at about 7PM, was a great time, since it's not too busy and we wouldn't disturb too many people. The service was great and they were warm toward us, even though we looked like a disaster waiting to erupt (luckily no eruptions or meltdowns).
We ordered humus, of course... greek salad, but of course... the chicken kabob and we added the spanakopita (which isn't on the online menu, but is on their restaurant menu). I LOVE their spanakopita!
Even their orange juice was that yummy fresh-squeezed stuff, none of that usual yucky bar-drink-mixing crap.
So ya, if you have kids, you can also opt to eat outside on their patio, which has a fountain,... but beware, if it's a busy night, people may be smoking the Hookah (which is quite delightful, but not so much when you have the kiddos with you).

Well, after coming here once, I am pretty sure I will want to come again.
Sultana has a pleasant atmosphere for me, at least, coming on an early Saturday afternoon without all the midweek business crowd was an assurance I would have pretty much most of the back patio all to myself, and the meal was actually excellent, so I had no complaints.
The starter bread is very good white bread backed in a very small loaf but I would say it competes quite well with the Left Bank's french bread. I had the red lentil soup and chicken shish kebab- nothing too exotic on this journey, just to test the waters. As I plan to check out as many of the local Mediterranean-themed places as I might in the next half year or so, Sultana as #2 (compared to the first, New Kappadokia) places pretty well.
The chicken shish kebab is served with onion & green pepper, with a side of pilaf and a salad, and all three elements combined made a great taste melange. The red lentil soup comes with a lemon, which unfortunately I squeezed and discovered that really the soup would have been just as fine and good without it. It was not necessarily salty but savory and without the lemon would have been just right.
they brought me a cup of mint tea and encouraged me to pick additional (fresh) leaves from the mint plants growing back in the patio. Their mint tea is a very high quality, so Ion the whole, I felt it was a good experience, and as it did not even require me to bust a Jackson over this meal, I left feeling I had definitely got my money's worth. I am sure the other sorts of dishes they carry- lamb and seafood- probably hold additional surprises for me up the road- but for me now, the next step is to check out a couple places in San Carlos...

The entrees are extremely good, 4 star worth, the salads leave something to be desired. My favorite dish is the Divan Kebab, lamb and meat rolled up in a lavish bread and cut into almost bite sized pieces. They offer spinach as a side to many entrees, including the Divan Kebab, and this tastes good. I bet kids will eat their vegetables if you give them this.
The complimentary bread is the best free bread I ever had. It is fresh, warm, and the perfect consistency and a good white bread taste. They also give out butter that has not been sitting in the freezer and can actually be spread.
Service is lacking. My drinking glass is empty before my entree comes and usually does not ever get refilled. The waiters are friendly and knowledgeable about their menu so don't be afraid to ask questions about dishes.

We came here for a large group dinner and had a great experience. Our group was accommodated easily (and I saw another large group -- what appeared to be a child's family birthday party -- in the other room) and well attended by the waitstaff. The big family party in the other room made it a bit difficult to hear those at our own table, since the restaurant is full of hard surfaces that bounce the sound around, but I'm sure our discussions contributed to the noise as well.
Our appetizer plates came out quickly, and the entrees also followed in very good time after our orders were taken. I had the Manti (Turkish Ravioli), described on the menu as "Homemade dumplings stuffed with seasoned ground meat topped with garlic yogurt and melted butter." It was delicious! Tender dumplings, spicy yogurt sauce and butter all mixed together to make a delightful meal. The chocolate baklava I split with a friend was a little too hard and crunchy for my preference, but tasted good.
I'd return here if I was in town again. Good food, good prices, good service. Thanks!

Consistently tasty with good (not amazing) service.
My favorite was the lamb, followed by chicken, followed by the seafood. Hummus also delicious.
I'd go back. Reasonably priced.

We dropped by for a late lunch cause everything else around down town menlo was closed. We started with the fried veggie appetizer (its actually not fried, but marinated veggies). It was a really nice flavor, but small in size. For entrees we got the falafel wrap and spicy beef/lamb wrap (very juicy, not really spicy at all). Both were very good and the price was really reasonable. We sat outside and loved the chill ambiance and the service was great as well. Too bad we didn't know about the 50% off 2nd entree promotion from yelp! Definitely will come back to t ry out more dishes. Tastes really authentic to me.

If I could, I would give Sultana's 3.5 stars. The first time I ate here, they had me at 'complimentary bread.' The bread was warm, soft--like edible pillows. The pomegranate lamb & beef entree is by far the best on the menu. The moussaka was hearty but needed more flavor. The hummus is always on the mark.
Since my first meal here, I've had bread that was room-temp and not so pillow-like. I had the Beyti Kebab--ground lamb & beef wrapped in lavosh and topped w/tomato sauce--and it was a terrible, terrible miss. It came out shaped like a snake (no joke) and really needed side veggies. The babaghonoush is hit or miss--sometimes it's really good, but most recently, they added what tasted like mayo which made it inedible.
Despite a few misses, Sultana's is still a place I'd visit but not too often. The entree menu needs retooling--they definitely need a better variety of dishes that are exciting and drool-worthy like the pomegranate entree.

The Divan Kebab was pretty tasty, spiced well. It came with a side of steamed spinach and some yogurt on top. While delicious, it was not such a big serving that a girl like myself couldn't finish. Also, the spinach left that gritty soil flavor on my tongue. For $17, I was expecting a little more maybe.
Also, the waiter didn't refill my water until I was done with dinner.
The back patio is a nice retreat from busy El Camino however.

My first ever yelp review.... I've been sitting, staring at the computer screen, trying to think of all these super witty things, picturing people on the ground in tearful laughter... hmmmm. maybe I should have a drink or two first... people always think I'm funnier.
So that had absolutely nothing to do with anything... on to business.
Been to Sultana probably about 8 times so far, and have loved every single experience. You definitely get the "family business" experience, which includes extremely friendly service, great portions, and just a great environment.
The food is excellent... just the thing when I need my kabob fix! I would have given 5 stars, but I didn't want to give my first review a 5 star.

kebab fine buy why the bitter greens? (frisee salad), could use dressing

falafel wrap -- would rather have pita bread

Excellent, family-owned, authentic Turkish food at a reasonable price. Kofte kabob wrap was good, and the salmon was very moist. The baklava is the mother's recipe and very good. I went back a second time and had the lamb shish kabob wrap which was also excellent. Their hummus is very smooth and tasty.

The service was very good; the waitstaff came by quite often, but not too often.
The food was good, especially the divan kebab. The bread to start with was quite tasty.
They were not full at 7:45 on a Friday night, which was a bit of a surprise after dining in Palo Alto on weekend evenings. I suppose this is true of downtown Menlo Park in general, I suppose (less busy than downtown PA). Anyway, the tables didn't need to be as close together as they were, for the number of people dining at that time.

Date night. Unfortunately for Sultana, my expectations for date night are high. Perhaps, unreasonably so. The hubby ordered lamb kebab, I ordered chicken kebab. Tasty, yes. Unbelievably creative, no. In fact, I believe we might be able to recreate the dish at home. Also, the menu was dirty.
The dinner was salvaged at the very beginning. Our appetizer was outstanding. The Sigara Boregi. Feta, filo dough, fried. Enough said.

Good food, friendly service. I like the atmosphere: clean, really nice but not overly elegant or stuffy. The patio in back is so pleasant! We've come here a couple times with groups, and they seem flexible and eager to accommodate us, even when we didn't have a reservation.
My husband and I have eaten here several times since moving to the area 8 months ago. We've tried several different dishes--everything's good, no disappointments.

Don't have enough vacation days left to travel to Turkey...but at least it's a short drive to Sultana where we can find some awesome, awesome kebabs.
I admit -- I'm not a big enthusiast of Middle Eastern food, but with my in-laws in town visiting from Thailand, we wanted them to try something more unique than our standard fare of American cuisine.
In short, we made the right choice of restaurant.
* For appetizers, we tried the Turkish pizza (lahmacun) that was a bit salty, but nicely thin, crusty and tasty. The red lentil soup was light and mild - definitely a healthier pick. The Greek salad was also delicious with plenty of olive oil.
* For main, we shared four plates of seafood (salmon, shrimp and swordfish) and chicken shish kebabs. They were all EXCELLENT, especially the swordfish. Moist, juicy, tender, flavorful...and they wonderfully complemented the yogurt and the buttered rice on the side.
* For drinks, we sampled some Turkish beer and fruity red wine for the first time, and I'm sure to order them again next time.
* For dessert, we shared a piece of chocolate baklava that disappeared in a matter of minutes. We'll have to order at least two plates of this next time...
ONE star goes to the ambiance and the service. We liked the traditional decor, as well as our server who was patient with incessant questioning (i.e., "what's your most popular appetizer here?") and helpful with the menu. There was a private party taking place in the adjacent room, with about 30 people, but it wasn't too loud or hectic. The staff seemed to have all things under control.
SUM: For now, 4.5 stars..but I have yet to find another Turkish restaurant in the area that parallels this one.
Awesome food + friendly service + elegant decor + affordability = heavenly meal.

I had dinner at Sultana this past summer and went today for lunch. Last time, I remember enjoying the combo appetizer and a seafood dish that we shared. But I did not Yelp then.
At lunch today, our group of 4 ordered the Sigara Boregi, the Salmon Kabob sandwich, the Chicken Kabob sandwich (from the lunch menu, not listed on the website), the Spinach Manti and the Meat Manti.
They were out of Spinach Manti so two of us ended up with Meat Manti, which was little teeny ravioli pouches covered in garlic yogurt and butter sauce.
The Sigara Boregi were phyllo stuffed with feta and parsley and fried, having a similar appearance to egg rolls. They were tasty but I could have used a dipping sauce of some kind - a sweet chutney would have been perfect with the cheese.
The sandwiches were large and served with hummus and salad. Both were enjoyed, and when I had a taste of the chicken from my husband's plate I found the chicken to be really tender and well cooked.
The Manti were good if slightly on the bland side. The yogurt and butter were plain so I would have enjoyed a little more spice to the meat - not spicy as in hot, but spicy as in more herbs and spices for flavor.
Service was attentive until the very end of the meal. The place was nearly empty after our late lunch. We looked around for a server or the hostess or the man pouring the water and couldn't find anyone to flag down to request our check. We finally were given some to-go boxes for our leftovers from the man serving water, but the waiter never ended up bringing the check so one of our party went up to the hostess desk to pay the check.
I felt the prices were quite reasonable for the area - the dinner prices online are not the same as the lunch prices we saw - but I'm not sure of the total bill since we were treated to lunch. The sandwiches were around $8 and were large enough for two meals if you eat light, or one very large satisfying meal if you eat plenty.

Fresh baklava dripping in honey with delicate filo layers, warmed and melted? Yes please.
My friend and I came here today for the first time, and were surprised at how quaint and nice it looked (large windows, cloth napkins, cute!). I think we didn't know what to expect, but thought maybe it was more like those gyro houses that are holes in the walls. Not here!
There weren't that many people in the restaurant, but considering it was 5:30 pm on a Monday night, we didn't expect a ton. My friend ordered the turkish ravioli (the manti), which came in tiny ravioli pieces (but many of them!), with lamb meat and placed in a thick yogurt sauce. Very good! We also started out with the dolmas - mmm. I ordered the beef shish kebab plate, and the meat was seared just right (a bit chewy), and the rice, peppers, and roasted tomatoes were oh so good! I wanted the Sultana falafel sandwich, but apparently they only offer that at lunch. This was a good find though! I wouldn't have tried it if the falafel sandwich were there =)
Also, we finished the meal with the regular baklava, which came out fresh! I wanted the chocolate baklava, but apparently it wouldn't be ready for another hour!
Service was attentive, no pressure, and available just when you needed them!

Beautiful warm January afternoon, dining outside on the Sultana "patio" (they make it feel like a patio even though it's technically the parking lot). What a great meal!
The combo appetizer (vegetarian) is a wonderful way to start the meal; for four, it's an appetizer, for two, it could be half the meal. The babaganoush was particularly wonderful on my most recent visit.
Vegetarian main courses include the falafel, imam bayildi, and a yogurt-spinach dish (don't remember the name). The falafel is served wrap/burrito style and the sauce is on the side so it's not at all messy. It is very delicious (except for a small pile of lettuce with tasteless dressing posing as salad) and is served elegantly (for falafel ;-). The imam bayildi (an eggplant stew) was excellent; the waiter talked me into ordering it and he was absolutely right. The spinach yogurt dish was very good but I'd want to share it rather than have it as a main course.
The inside of the restaurant is big (for downtown Menlo Park) and works well for larger groups. There's an entrance on El Camino but the "real" entrance is in the back by the parking lot.
I gave Sultana four stars instead of five because on several visits the food seemed to be "off" (less exceptional than normal). This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Menlo Park.

Already been here a few times since moving here, and the last time I was sad to see the place was near empty, because it's one of the best restaurants in the area. Excellent lentil soup, not too watery, with just the right amount of spices. Falafel appetizer has the perfect texture; crunchy outside, soft and seasoned inside. Chicken kabobs are juicy and tender, and their rice is delicious. Turkish coffee and the chocolate baklava are a perfect dessert combination.
It's not inexpensive, though definitely worth it, so best saved for a once in a while treat.

My coworkers and I decided to try a new place for lunch. Sultana was within walking distance. I ordered a wrapped chicken sandwich. The meat was tender and had great flavor. Hummus was served with the sandwich, very tasty. My co workers ordered different kebab's plates. They seemed to really enjoy the meal.
The staff was friendly and very helpful in selecting items from the menu. They checked back with us regularly during our lunch to see that our needs were met. Overall we had a nice lunch enjoyed by all.

This is a review by a vegetarian
The decor is very calming even though you can see four lanes of traffic zipping by on El Camino out the window.
The combo appetizer at $12.95 is all veggie and comes with abundant, substanial, and tasty bread. If the meal ends there we're in 4 to 5 star territory. But the salad I had at one sitting and the spinach ravioli entree at another are both mediocre and overpriced.
Have appetizers, tea, and dessert and you can engineer a 5 star experience here.

I really wanted to like this restaurant....
Came here with 5 other friends on a saturday night and was told they had a private party at 7pm. (We got there 5:30pm, with reservations.) No biggie, i thought. Throughout the whole time we were in the restaurant, they kept telling us about this party at 7pm. I mean, the waiters were polite about it, but damn!! Can we just eat and talk?! It's only 6:30pm!!
Needless to say, we totally felt rushed and couldn't really enjoy the experience as much as we have liked to....I soo wanted to taste the chocolate baklava dessert that other fellow yelpers have recommended, but damnit, we were over this restuarant by the time it hit 7pm...
What ticked me off, was that as they were rushing us outta there...They were still accepting people to eat!! I don't get it....
Might come back, might not....depends on my mood.

Top notch! Based on recommendation from my friend's Turkish co-worker, two starving girl (after hours of shopping) found themselves seated at a very spacious and elegant establishment. It was a slow night for them (Tuesday) so we were def well taken care of.
Since neither one of us ever had Turkish food, we asked our waitress (also the owner - she was very sweet) for recommendation. We loved everything we had!
Starting with the appetizer, I can't recall the name - but it was a pizza-like dish (there was no cheese and it was served with a side tomato and onions and wedge of lemon). It def hit the spot! For entree, we had the pomegranate lamb and beef. This was delicious! The pomegrante coupled with this yogurt sauce they used complimented the lamb and beef very well. Thank goodness we shared, we were both stuff at the end - so portions are of good size!
Oh yes - must try the Turkish vines (wine)!

Sultana comes through to break my streak of 3-stars-or-below experiences. Sitting on El Camino, Sultana is a nice place where you can dine indoors or out. I was surprised to see the place practically empty inside, but most people did sit out.
Had my first falafel experience, don't know what all the hype is about even though it is fried and good. The main course of lamb and beef rolled with spinach with pomegranate yogurt sauce was outta-the-park good, love the sweet and savory combo. Service is pretty slow, took like 30 minutes to get the food but I would sacrifice time for quality any day.

Had lunch here on Wed. I was very impressed with the food. The chicken kebab was very delicious and it was not too dry or too moist- just perfect!!! The dish came with salad and rice. I loved how much salad there was on that plate...I have been trying to lose some weight and was scared that there was to be too much rice. I was very pleasantly surprised. I parked in the parking plaza behind the restaurant - or in front it, depending how you come into it- and there was enough space there even at lunch.
The big pluses were also the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as how helpful the server was. The place was not crowded, but was not empty, either. I hate crowded places!!! Overall, a great experience....and everything finished with the chocolate baklava that was absolutely amazing...I will come back for sure!

Just ate there with a girlfriend who was craving Middle Eastern food after our trip to Happy Feet. I wanted to take her someplace that would be nice to hang out rather than a hole in the wall, so I Yelped it and found this place. Overall, our experience was fine if not exceptional.
The patio out back was nice, cause it was gorgeous outside. The drinks were also nice - Cosmo and Lemon drop, not exactly Middle Eastern, but what we wanted. The food was okay. The basics were strong - humus, babaganoush, etc. The vegetarian entree was a spinach stuffed dumpling floating in a sea of butter. I ate it, but I think my stomach didn't appreciate it.
White table cloths - nice. Tissue thin napkins - not so nice.
Service - nice to start with, but as the restaurant got busier, we had a hard time tracking down our check. As soon as we uttered the words "It must be free" someone magically appeared with our bill in hand.
A solid 3 stars.
