I have lived in Houston area for most of my life (except those five years in the Michigan area).  Yes, I do love the Memorial Park in Houston.  However, Houston, we have a problem.   There's another park in Sugar Land that once it is completed, everybody will flock there to enjoy the outdoor.  It is Sugar Land Memorial Park that I'm talking about.   It is true that this park is not completed yet; however, just enjoying the first phase of this park is enough to bring you back for many more times.  Once you arrive at the park, you will see this wide open section with very large pond (the city calls it a lake but I think this is a pond) for many water activities.  My brother-in-laws brought their inflatable boat as well as the inflatable kayak and we had great time.  One of them also brought an RC-controlled speed boat and my kids just love to play it after a long day at the jungle gym.  Speaking of the jungle gym, this is the children's activity area that any kids would LOVE to play in it!  Overall, I give this park a four stars (The city has not paved the parking area)
