This is the absolute best place to get drunk and have sushi, not a doubt about it! They have $1-$2 sakes on Thursdays, which is fabulous! Additionally, they have super awesome deals on pitchers of beer which could very well be the death of me.
With drinks aside- their special rolls are a fantastic mixture of deliciousness. My favorites are the James Bond, the Las Vegas and Sweet 16. OMIGAWD, I honestly don't think there's a restriction on the amount of rolls I can have here-- it's scary.
So, essentially you can get your roll on and your drink on. However, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights can get busy really quickly! I suggest either calling ahead to reserve a table if you're bringing a date or if you're planning on having a group of people. (And if it's a date destination, it's more of an exciting dinner date destination because there's so much going on when it's the weekend and it's dinner time or later; for example there's loud music/DJ and the bar is hopping.) When you walk in you see mostly tables and chairs but if you look towards the back of the restaurant and down the hall alongside the bar, there is a sushi bar and little tables to sit cross-legged at.
Definitely one of my favorite sushi destinations in the city because of the atmosphere and how funky the environment is.
P.S. Extra tip! If you don't reserve or plan ahead, make sure to loiter around tables that look like they're done... just have a drink in the meantime;-)
During the entire dinner, I kept saying, "Two stars. Two stars. Two stars."
We ordered delivery from Sudachi through GrubHub. Tonkatsu, Chirashi, and spicy tuna roll.
Never have I seen such unskilled preparation of sashimi. Cut paper thin with jagged edges, one piece was split in half towards one end while another fell apart when I picked it up with my chopsticks. I was given the end of the sake (salmon), a part most sushi chefs throw out. The spicy tuna roll, on the other hand, was as big and thick as a spring roll. What's going on here?
Please see photos below:
Paper thin Saba - http://www.yelp.com/bi...
Poorly cut sashimi with jagged edges - http://www.yelp.com/bi...
This piece even splits towards one end - http://www.yelp.com/bi...
Spring roll sized spicy tuna roll - http://www.yelp.com/bi...
The tonkatsu, half covered in curry, was average at best.
The next delivery through GrubHub will certainly not come from Sudachi.
Sudachi is unexpectedly amazing! After bar hopping along Polk my 5 friends and I wanted somewhere we could still drink, but sit down and hand out as well. Tushar K. suggested Sudachi and, with visions of sake bombs in our heads, we immediately headed over. We walked in a our super busy, but incredibly friendly, waitress started clearing away a table for us. We sat down, took forever to order, and got drunk - but the waitress was still very nice, efficient, and attentive. I was also feelin the music they were playing.
As far as the food goes, the sushi was standard, the fries were delicious, and I loved that my lychee martini had lychee jelly in it. I wish I lived closer so I could come back more often!
THis ia great sushi and for a great price! Everything I've had has always been fresh! I've not yet eatin there but I have ordered it online and they always come early and it taste great! So if your in the mood for sushi but don't feel like leaving your house because a game is on....ding ding...this is your spot!
like it a lot
good young vibe-- great sushi (T and T roll i think its called and 1217 roll are great)
when i go with a group of friends it is super fun and beer is only $2 and pitcher is $8- goes a long way!!
o and a spicy tuna roll is only like $4
Keep in mind I've only ordered from http://grubhub.com....
The food is fine. =P There's obviously places that are better to order from in terms of sushi, but unfortunately, my bf doesn't eat raw sushi and prefers his sushi baked with lots of sauce, so Sudachi does the trick for him. Don't get me wrong, the food is fine. I've never had a BAD experience from sudachi, although I can't say it's the greatest either.
my complaint, however, is with the delivery boy. The guy gets into the lobby of my apartment and then CALLS me to tell me to come down to get my food. Everyone else I've ever ordered from knocks on my apartment door... oh well.
There are probably as many rolls here as there are bars on Polk. Nah, probably more. The cuisine ranges from sushi to American (fries, etc) to even a few other Asian-inspired dishes that are not exclusively Japanese. Nice intimate vibe with cozy booths set out in a pretty large interior space. Great place to stock up on food after an early Happy Hour at Hemlock (my go-to spot); keep the drinks coming with beer, sake, and wine.
yum. this was great.
we were on the search for late nite food and about to give up but then my date said, what about sushi.
yeeess. perfect. and it was.
delicious food late is a big plus in my book cuz i'm not down to eat greasy/bar-and-grill type food jus cuz its a lit late.
we sat at the bar, bartender was mui helpful, got us great soju drinks and chit chatted.
baked lobster roll was delic and made my raw-squimish companion happy. and the atmosphere was nice, got some mood liteing, music, lalala. i'll b returning
$2 draft every day and really f'ing good sushi. How can you go wrong?
The service leaves something to be desired, and on a hot day it's even hotter inside this place.
He and I came here for our friend's birthday this weekend. She was rollin deep with a reservation of 20. We were lucky & found parking a block up...while one friend wasn't so lucky, and was circling around for parking for an hour! Upon arrival: No waitress/hostess to greet us...if it weren't for one of our friends finding us and calling out our names we wouldn't have known which table was the b-day girl's (she was fashionably late).
Drinks: cheap! Sake bombs for under $2, cheap beer, & $5 cocktails. And hmm..some of the cocktails were recreated from Rohan that was on Geary (R.I.P. I miss you!)...so it's all good, right? NO! First off the drinks are served in plastic cups..not crappy looking ones, but plastic ones that you'd find at some restaurants when you order like a coke. The birthday girl was bought a Lemon Drop Sojutini...and it was not served in a martini glass but in this plastic cup..no no no!! I had ordered a Happy Family (since I miss Rohan so much) & when the drink finally came the guy kept saying Happy Panda and I had told him that I had ordered a Happy Family, and he said "My bad..it's a Happy Family," & "I'm like are you sure," and he said yeah. It was green, a Happy Family is supposed to be red with soju, pineapple juice, oj, & grenadine..how the hell do you get green? Yeah buddy, you probably gave me the wrong drink when I told the waitress Happy Family twice! And the drink tasted like shit...just soju & watered down by all the ice.
Food: it was okay. I ordered a tempura roll and expected more out of it for $8. The BBQ Beef Udon ($9.95) was okay..broth was better than some restaurants I've been to..but did not leave me feeling full which I usually am after drinking a bowl of noodle soup!
Atmosphere: Very green? Projection TV playing the Yankees game. VERY STUFFY! Everyone was so hot, not just me drinking my soup!
Service: Definitely could be a lot better! My bf would always come here, and told me he only recognized one of the waitresses, so the rest are fairly new. Yes, we had a large group, and they were pretty busy, but we had multiple waitstaff waiting on us, and there just seemed to be lack of communication, inattentiveness at times, and long waits for food. For instance, my friend & her bf were the last to order because they were the last to arrive & she got her salmon sandwich at least 20 minutes before her bf got his 2 rolls. It was a nice gesture though that the owner's wife gave the b-day girl a complimentary crepe dessert.
The area is horrible for parking and there are other Korean/Japanese restaurant alternatives, but, if you're in the area, I'd say just stop by for beer or a sake bomb.
Oh Sudachi, you will never know how happy you have made me~ Finally, a good sushi place that delivers! (And really fast, I might add)
So far, I've tried their Spider Roll, Shimp Tempura Roll, Crunchy Roll, Bellagio Roll and Rose Roll. All of them were absolutely delicious especially their Crunchy Roll and their Bellagio Roll. Yummers!
Some decent apps, very average rolls
Not much to say on this one. Pretty unexciting for all the great sushi options in San Francisco
I have been sick for four days now, laid up in bed. Maybe it's swine flu - and I will be immune if/when this epidemic ever hits the US with a vengeance. That is, if I live through this bout. Or maybe it's just the flu, I don't know.
But the unthinkable has happened: Grace has lost her appetite.
I have an immensely high pain tolerance but once in a blue moon when I do fall victim to a virus, it's the perfect chance to just lie down and do nothing but read books while overdosing on medicine. This time, though, I haven't read one book.
I've been obsessed with a sushi-making game on Facebook called "Sushi No Suki".
It's ridiculous.
You have to make sushi (both nigiri and rolls) as fast as possible, put it on the right plates and serve it to cantankerous customers at an alarmingly fast rate before they start trembling from diabetic shock or something, and turning a shade of red and leaving your restaurant in a hissy fit. All you need is a mouse, so being as sick as I am, I figured I can still use my finger to click without overexerting myself, but I was wrong. I find that I am so stressed and tensed up that if not for this sushi game, I would have probably gotten better two days ago.
What this game does do for me is make me crave for sushi in spite of not being hungry for anything else in the world. Given how much I love sushi, it's not that surprising, but really - I feel like eating nothing else at this moment except sushi and rolls, as I rapidly make them in this game.
When it comes to rolls - Sudachi is a good place!
I went here a few weeks ago for a farewell dinner w/ 14 other friends, and expected nothing much from them. Entering the restaurant, it reminded me of a Korean cafe, and with loud music playing, it was strange to think this place served sushi.
They have an expansive menu of all sorts of Japanese and Korean entrees, but I stuck to rolls. When in doubt, order rolls and just make do for one meal, right?
What Sudachi served was REALLY GOOD SUSHI ROLLS!
I tried at least 6 varieties this evening, and all of it was excellent. The right amount of rice, fish, nori, etc. and even their deep-fried rolls were good.
On this evening, they had a sake company going around serving free mini-shots of sake, and sake bombs were only $1.50 for the entire evening. The cold sake, which I ordered, was their house sake, and it was really good.
It was busy in here with lots of young people - and it was the service that almost took this place down to a 2-star joint. The waitresses forgot some orders and brought things we did not order, forgetting the things we ordered twice. The waiter brought hot sake when I had ordered cold and instead of just replacing, he said i didn't make it clear. One thing about me in restaurants is that when I start becoming aggravated by the service, it shows. I can be annoyed about the food and it won't show, but when PEOPLE ruin my dining experience (be it server or fellow patrons), I find that to be unacceptably rude.
And it showed.
What saved the day was our waiter. Soon after the little sake mix-up, he proceeded to earn every single point back and then some, and really adding to the aura of the evening. He was friendly, fun, and just kept on bringing us bottles of drinks. Then, due to the earlier confusion, he threw in several desserts, on the house. This is rare, but I found my earlier altercation with him fading from my mind completely. He was very cool.
Add to this the fact that our huge dinner here amounted to a mere $33 per person for all the rolls, entrees and drinks - and it's a bargain.
The atmosphere becomes progressively loud through the night, and on this evening, it was 80's night. By 10 pm, people were dancing in the middle of the restaurant to Cyndi Lauper, including someone who was dressed as Cyndi herself. Not my thing but fun nonetheless.
I would DEFINITELY recommend trying Sudachi for a fun night out w/ friends. This is NOT a date place, and the bigger the crowd, the more fun it will be. You can have rolls that are actually tasty, good drinks, and stick around for even dancing - all in one place. I have not tried their nigiri - and don't plan to do so.
But when I want rolls, like I do every time I play this ridiculous sushi game, I will head to Sudachi for a good time.
In fact - the minute I am able to leave my house without feeling aches and chills all over, and my body stops trying to hack up lungs, I think this will be the first place I race to for dinner.
Thank you - waiter man - for making this a fun night for all of my friends. It turned out to be one fun farewell dinner for a valued friend.
Given that he went back to Kentucky, it might have been the last good meal he's had, too.
Now - back to Sushi No Suki.
After bar hopping we ended up at Sudachi's. They have exceptional customer service and the worlds friendliest staff. They're super tolerant of large belligerent groups, like my friends and I. The sushi is fabulous and so is the sake. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Man, I got to do it. Go up to four stars. Anyone else ever think to themselves in Yelp terms when out somewhere? Like , "Well the food was four but the ass waiter was one star.."
Well I was thinking like that here. I've been here three times since writing the last 3 star review. I don't just go to the same restaurant three times in 2 weeks if it's lame 3 star place, there are too many other options in this area to go to if this was just A-OK or whatever. Sudachi really is better I guess. One, they play hip hop, any time I've ever been there later at night, and I'm talking all kinds of hip hop. Old school like 90's East Coast satellite station to current Hip Hop. Uncensored too, just like god intended it. Nothing like eating dinner and hearing multiple F bombs going off all around you. Loud too, it's awesome. Plus just the fact they ARE open so late is superb.
Also the sushi chefs and food are pretty good. There was a dish the that had a mayo sauce and I didn't want mayo, so I asked for something else. He thought about it and made a pretty good soy wasabi vegetable sauce on the fly. Impressive work, it was good stuff.
So I take back my mean comments earlier, I'm here too much now.

I'd been avoiding Sudachi after my last review because they pissed me off. I don't go places that… Read more »
Who would've thought that SAKE + BEER + SUSHI ROLLS = GREAT DINNER COMBO??!?! I had the Spiced up Tuna Tempura roll for $9 and let me tell u that the sushi was pretty big! I couldn't put the whole thing in my mouth so either my mouth is too small or the damn sushi was big! hahhaha...they were generous too! I think there was about 10 pieces and I could've eaten that all by myself but I was sharing with a friend =( sad but true...gotta be honest at the fact that sometimes I wish I was just by myself. The servers were super friendly and fast...the DJ was spinning top 40's and yes people there is a bar available for those who does not consider themselves as "alcoholics". hahhahha...kidding =) I like the beer that they served and I don't even drink beer! Overall, food is good and cheap, there's a bar, there's a live DJ on the weekends n its open till 1:30 am!
I HEART SUDACHI!!!
PS: I heard that the Linda Roll is pretty good too =)
Definitely had a lot of fun here. We sat at the bar and sampled a bunch of rolls and enjoyed sake bombs with the bartender.
It's really loud, so be prepared. Sushi is fine - tasty but not something to brag about. It's kind of interesting that they have korean food on the menu as well (jap chae is ok).
Advice: come here for loud, fun dinners that involve more drinking than eating.
Whether you will enjoy Sudahi or not depends entirely on how sober/drunk you are. If you are in the mood to party, you will appreciate the loud techno music the minute you walk in. You will probably love the drink specials, such as the $1.5 sake bombs on Saturday nights. And when you have become pals with the friendly staff and downed a few, you will probably like the enormous menu that features not just sushi, but other Asian dishes as well. Strange combos that may turn you off when your brain is still logical will suddenly become appealing. Sushi taco? Bring it on! What the heck roll? That's exactly how I feel and what I need!
Now, if you go to Sudachi and stayed sober like I did, you will probably have a totally different experience. Everyone will seem clumsy and loud, including the wait staff. The menu makes no sense---What the heck roll? what the heck? You will get grossed out just watching your drunk friends eating the sushi taco. And the sushi is really mediocre.
So go if you are celebrating with a large party, because the restaurant will be very accommodating and let you stay as long as you want. But if you want to eat some authentic sushi and whisper sweet nothings to your date, then you better go somewhere else.
I have gone hungry TWICE now because of a delivery order that never came from Sudachi!!!
They are obviously not very good at taking phone orders.
When I call I give them my phone number and address
then REPEAT IT, but still they don't listen!
The last TWO times I ordered I called them when there was no sign of my food after an hour and both times they said, "the driver tried to call you but couldn't reach you"
Well yeah, because you gave him the wrong f'ing number!!
I do NOT like to go hungry, especially when I am sick (which I was).
It was too late at that point to order from any place else and everything in my hood was closed. Not cool.
It might be a different story when you dine-in but as far as delivery goes..DON'T DO IT!
I won't ever again..
So we finally found a place that delivers Korean food! Score! Wrong! We ordered Kalbi (short ribs) and the spicy pork. We also ordered some Tempura despite the negative reviews on the Tempura.
So Tempura needs to be served right away when its warm and chrispy. Well when you order delivery it sits in a container steaming away losing its crispiness. If they were smart they would just cut vents into the container but they don't so its just ok.
But the main dishes Kalbi and the spicy pork. We ordered medium spicy on the pork and it was very very mild. The dish comes with rice and a salad with an awful dressing that drenched the rice and made all the rice taste funny.
Didn't come here for dinner, but I was meeting up with friends that were in the middle of dinner and they said the rolls were good.
I was under the assumption I was meeting them at a bar, but to my suprise it was a sushi joint/bar/lounge hybrid mix. The dj was good, no cover charge, the beer was cheap, the people didn't look douchey, so it's a good establishment in my books.
2 sake bombs and a beer came out to $9.
$2 Drafts? Yes please.
$2 Sake? Yes please.
Tasty sushi and great service? Yes please!
Went here with a friend to try a new place for sushi. It's a good atmosphere despite the somewhat outdated decor. But as my friend stated, if it keeps drinks at $2 a pint, there's no need for change.
The sushi is tasty and service is prompt, and sitting on the floor gives you that "I'm American but trying to be authentic and worldly" feeling. 3.5 stars is the perfect rating for this place... it's just missing that certain, well, je ne sais quoi, that keeps it from being 4 stars.
this place was great! the sushi was delicious, the servers incredibly friendly and the place was hoppin!
In a city of amazing sushi, Sudachi doesn't really rise to the top. The food is alright, they have some novel speciality items, and their prices don't break the bank.
You don't care because it's 11pm on a Tuesday and you don't want to leave the house because you're embarassed about your eczema. Bingo. They deliver, they're open late, and you can order online. If that's not worth three stars, you need to find yourself three new stars.
Came here on a Thursday night and was so happy to find a place that serves good, inexpensive sushi and cheap drinks. Service was good, we were immediately greeted, escorted to a great table, and brought fresh ice waters. We ordered a small hot sake ($3) and a pint of Sapporo ($2). Started off with miso soup, which was hot, delicious, and generous on the tofu chunks.
I had a california roll and a kappa role, and my partner got a yellowtail and a salmon role. All were large but well formed, and each roll was at least $1 - $2 less than equivalents at other places. Luckily the inexpensive prices did not translate to crappy fish!
Overall a good experience, and I think with the large tables, cheap drinks and snacks, and projector screen tv, this would be a great place for a group dinner or birthday celebration!
I was eating at Slider's Diner across the street before and saw lots of cute girls walking into this place but I thought it was just a restaurant. Little did I know it was a late night bar too.
This place is great for a Thursday night! The sushi was delicious (I got a heart roll), the beer was reasonably priced I think? ($8 for a pitcher of Kirin). The bartenders and waitresses were very attractive. Plus they hooked me and my friend up with free beer! They had a couple DJ's, one wasn't good at mixing but he had great music selection so I could dance the night away. Lots of cute girls. The ones I met were very cool to talk to so the crowd was good. The bathroom was clean and it didn't get too crowded. Thanks for a great night Sudachi! I'm writing this review drunk but I know I'll definitely be back soon.
$2 draft beers are really what this place is all about. Sushi is fairly priced, but nothing special, fish was medium to poor quality. Good ambiance. Very packed on weekend nights and it's a good scene to scope out, especially because you can hit up a club-like crowd with a dj and get 5 beers for $10, which is an incredible deal.
I would say that this is a good place to go with a few friends for a night out on the weekend, it's also a great place to pregame.
The sushi is really nothing special. If you want good sushi, there are plenty of places, come here if you want beer, ambiance, and some different bar fare.
Sudachi, oh the nights I spent in your midst soaking up the spirits you anxiously gave to me at a quaint 2 dollars a beer. I rejoiced in this. Until yes, you fired my DJ friend. Then the place became alot like Santana Row on a saturday night. 3 stars. Oh yeah sushi sucks too.
went here for my birthday. it was nice. only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 was their service. it wasn't bad or anything, but it could have been a little better.
nice place for casual or for a dress up meal for an affordable price :)
food was nice and were good. food comes pretty fast too. we were there on a saturday night.
inside the restaurant is a nice dim lighting. the front area when you walk in is the sit down restaurant area. pretty big. and when you go a little further, you'll see the bar.
it's a really nice place. clean too. i recommend birthday dinners here :) it was fun. or even just going out to dinner with friends and enjoying some sake bombs (as a nearby table was doing)!
oh another minus is parking :T but then.. it is san francisco. there's a good amount of street parking in that area, but still could be hard to find :T
but yeah. i would go back. now that im talking about it and thinking about it... it makes me want to go back right now haha. next time i want to try their korean food. and other stuff they have there. appreciate the nice prices :)
To quote the great May West, "I'll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times to make sure."
For sushi I skipped the 2nd round.. My first experience with Sushi was uneventful.. I thought, not bad, but I don't see myself thinking, wow I could really go for some sushi right now.
So why did I go to sushi last night? Not only did I need to get out of the house, but I love May West.. and of course, I just had to make sure.
Thanks to Sudachi I am now a sushi LOVER... Just like that.. no middle ground, just pure love. Miss Christina T and our friend Greg and I ordered enough to feed a small army. Favorites of the night: The Hummer, The Caterpillar, Las Vegas, and Crunchy roll. We also brought along a non sushi eater who still had plenty of options to chose from and also enjoyed her meal.
There is a ton of seating room, and we were lucky enough to get our own lil private room where we took off our shoes and sat cross legged.. It has been decided that this arrangement would also be great for Sake bombs.
SAKE BOMBS you say?! Yes, though we didn't experience it, the back of the menu boasts Saturday special of 1.50 Sake Bombs and live DJ... UMM YES PLEASE! With Polk st right there, it would be a great place to get the night started!!!
Our server and the whole staff was great... for how much sushi you get and how amazing it is.. this place is a great deal. If you are thinking of trying it and need a date.. CALL ME! :)
One word Summary (ok 4): LOVE AT FIRST BITE
I run the big risk of major excoriation by Oakland's Coach lovers when I say this....
Sudachi is almost as good of an alcohol value for a sushi bar. Almost. Nothing is bottomless. BUT Sake bombs are $1.50 and, on some nights, the sakes are $1.
Again. ALMOST.
Oh....who am I kidding? I somehow got beer in my eye (and I wear glasses) and quoted both Steve Holt and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog all night.
The glasses that they pour the beer in for the sake bombs are too thin in diameter and too short in order to do sake bombs the cool way with chopsticks and table pounding. (Well, how did YOU think I got beer in my eye?)
Oh yeah, they have UFC as a kinda big thing if you're into that.
Sushi is meh. That's expected.
Cheap tasty soju drinks, with a friendly bartender to make them.
They make many of their specialty rolls around California rolls, and although I heard they made great baked rolls, none of the combination that were on the menu struck my fancy.
Food was good, presentation was adorable, and we sat in these little floor chairs, which were very cute... although not as comfortable as it looked.
The ambiance is worth visiting though. Very young, upbeat, music playing in the background, but not too loud to hear your conversations.
My one negative comment though? When you're hooking your staff members up to the extreme, make it a little less obvious. People can tell and it reflects poorly.
This thing: "Deep fried Jalapenos, stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese topped with eel and mustard sauce." can be filed in the "sounds fucking disgusting but is actually quite delicious" category. Wash it down with a few sake bombs and you're all sorts of happy... for less than fifteen bucks.
I love the sushi at this restaurant. It's always fresh, and the best part is that it's not too expensive. VERY cheap alcohol and the Spicy Ahi Burger is delish. Unfortunately, it doesn't come out the back end as great as it is coming into your mouth. OUCH!
Definitely recommend this place on Thursday nights. They have their happy hours, and beers are super cheap. Birthday party idea.....
Do not...i repeat, do not order delivery from them. They screw up your order, their English is poor, and you'll get your food an hour and 45 minutes later after you've paid. It's great food, but only if you come to the restaurant.
I haven't been there since they changed management but I remember when it first opened. I had the great pleasure of trying their homemade organic tofu fries. HOLY HELL! Those things are REALLY good!
They have a variety of rolls that are different. I would highly recommend their tapas. During the weeknights it was relatively quiet and the colorscheme as well as the lighting made you feel at ease. It's a very relaxing modern place. On the weekends it can get pretty packed. I remember walking in on a Saturday and listening to a live jazz band play.
It was really nice. I would recommend this place for both dinner parties and just plain ol dates.
Worst sushi delivery ever! The soda wasn't cold at all without gas and in a plastic cup. The sushi was a 27 $ order of salmon killer roll and a dragon roll. Very small portions and regular flavor. The delivery boy was lost calling me and he could speak basic english.
I
LOVE
SUDACHIS!
We actually discovered this little gem on a friday night attempt to drunkenly stumble down POLK street. I had a few outta towners visiting and felt the pressure to impress!
We got to POLK st, and EVERY bar we went into was packkkked. Stinky, sweaty, musty.... like just about every SF dive bar on a friday night. 9:00PM hits and I realize that all my guests were uncomfortably sober. I had to step my game up... fast!!!
We were wandering around, and I barely noticed the sign that said $1 tiger beers (on friday nights!). Figuring we had nothing to lose, we wandered in to a Japanese restaurant/bar (Sudachis!!) with a live DJ. And immediately, the night was starting to look better;)
It wasn't nasty, and there was actually SPACE (in SF!!! who wouldv'e thunk!) The atmosphere was chill, the bartenders were chiller, and the drink specials were just freakin awesome. $1 sake bottles (small) on thursdays, $1 tiger beers on fridays, and $1.50 sake bombs on saturdays!
I'm just saying that every smart lady has got to be a "RECESSIONISTA" these days!! there is no reason (if your only trying to get f***8 smashed) that anyone should be spending $5-$7 on sake when you could come here and get it for $1-$2! + really good sushi.
They also show UFC PPV fights here! I'd rather go here to watch the fight than those sweaty sport pubs ANYDAY:)
C'mon, Sudachi. Lets be realistic here. Be wary about ordering delivery from this place. They are really running a complete scam by giving you ridiculously skimpy portions at exorbitant prices. I just spent $30 dollars to have 10 quarter sized pieces of sushi delivered to me. 2 rolls! 10 little pieces! And they gave me basically everything but the fish. I dont know how the in-house restaurant service is, but their delivery is a scam. Also, the food was mediocre at best. Never ordering here again.
Went here with friends and probably had one of the most interesting experiences at a restaurant ever. We were seating at a fold out table because the party before us "broke" the other table. Then they decided to move us after our sake bombs to a room, which was nice but made service really interesting.
We were there probably for about 2 hrs and they kept forgetting things like my inari (which is soooo easy to make and was probably premade) and then they brought out two of the same thing for my friend that they kept ordering. They tried to blame the duplicate order on us, when really it was the two servers that were servicing us and not getting the orders in.
I think if we went on a better night it might have been not so crazy. The food was yummy and I enjoyed the room that we had once we got there. But the service really seemed to make it weird and annoying.
Packed for every table on a thursday night. luckily, we made reservations for our birthday dinner party.
I sat down.. and the next thing i noticed... half of our table was a nice marble table.. the other half was the janky white plastic table tops that we all use for picnics or family gatherings.. I thought that was hilarious! To accompany the plastic picnic looking table.. they served red cups! the ones where you always drink out of at frat parties and such. Good way to prevent disasters I may say for sake bombing and possible drunken customers to come throughout the night.
Service was excellent. I loved the waitresses there.. Very friendly! I fed one of them our birthday cheesecake since she asked so politely with a japanese accent " may i have some?" pointing at it with a big asian smile.. :D , another one took a picture with the birthday boy.. they were just too friendly.. and the people at the bar were downing sake bombs with the sushi chefs.. I love the atmosphere that this place brings.. Excellent way to bring them customers back for more.
Had many kinds of soju.. I didn't know what though.. sorry guys. no details available there.. The red cups made the interior fluids look different so I couldn't tell.
Perfect location in the heart of downtown SF.. Parking can be a pain.. it is mainly street parking around the area.
I need to go back here for their sushi though!
