This place is amazing and the best Thai massage I've ever had.  When walking in, I felt like I just stepped into Thailand and overall it was very relaxing although there were a couple of times when I could hear footsteps or people talking outside of my room.

I don't know how he did it but the massage therapist knew exactly where all my sore spots were and he worked hard at getting all of my knots out.  I seriously feel like Gumby right now.  Additionally, I love it how he stretched me out during my massage instead of just doing it in the beginning or end like I'm use to.

The traditional Thai massage is $65 and to me that's a steal.  I love this place and I really hope one day Austin opens up an establishment like this.

Ya I'd say they where A-Okay

After reading the reviews on here I thought I was going to be treated like one of those little squishy stress balls and to say the least I was a little hesitant. I had a gift certificate and needed some relax time so I gave it a shot.

I guess the massage therapist  found a knot in my back, I had to tell him to please stop! I thought he was going to fracture my scapula.
Overall they are okay don't think I'd go back though.

As a person who gets massages regularly it takes a lot to impress me.  I've had many different styles in places all over the world and I'm very partial to an amazing massage therapist that I've been seeing for years.

My wife suggested that we try getting a massage after a long flight into San Francisco and I agreed this would be a good idea.  I did some research and found Suchada on Yelp.  Now to be honest I have never had a Thai massage nor had I any clue what was entailed in such a service.

Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.  From the moment we walked in I could feel the calming ambiance beginning to wash over me.  They have some amazing tea that helped push me over the edge and instantly I felt ready for my massage.

We opted for the 2 hour massage, which at first sounded long but I was glad after.  First you walk into your room, which is separated from all the others by sheets and while I thought this would bother me it was actually not a distraction at all.  I was then given a pirate outfit (I say this jokingly as its the only thing I can compare it to) and waiting for my masseuse to enter.

My massage therapist quietly led me through the procedure based on my selections of where I needed attention the most and began.  It was hands down one of the best massages I've ever had.  Every movement and motion and even the walking on my back was heavenly.  Having done yoga, Pilates, and other types of stretching exercises most of the moves felt very familiar to me and led to an ecstatic state of being.

By the time the massage was done I felt like a new man and ready for a night on the town.  I assumed I would be tired and sleepy but it was just the opposite.  I can't say enough good things about the experience and hope we get to try it again soon on our next trip.

Officially my favorite massage experience out of many.

Never can quite explain to people what Thai massage is like, other than it's massage with walking on your back, (not painfully, but expertly), along with yoga, that's done 'to' you(?)  Really, it was great.  The ladies were great and really friendly and sweet.  I was worried about the walking on my back part, but once she started with that, I actually didn't realize what she was doing until I recognized her foot near my shoulder.

It was so relaxing and felt so great after.  My husband and I both did 1.5 hours, and were ready for another 2 days later.  We didn't but will most definitely next time in town.

Now I wish we had one of these in Austin!

Few side notes as I glance at peoples 1-2 star reviews:  The touch isn't light, and I'm a deep tissue kinda girl.  But it I didn't think it was too strong either.  I wasn't feeling well when we arrived, nausea from travel, and was worried the massage would do one of two things: make me sick, running to the bathroom, or better.  I feel SO much better after.  Her touch was firm, but seemed well executed.  I just don't know if guests with really tight joints and muscles would enjoy this as much, or those who don't get massages at least semi-regularly.

I do think having done some yoga would be highly beneficial as far as comfort for some of the technique they implement at the end.  I found it the best part, as I practice daily, and having someone do the moves on me, without my aid, felt so wonderful, but those who do not have that experience (Or aren't as open to it) might find it frightening and tense up, which makes it all so much more uncomfortable that it would be otherwise.

The location is 'open'.  It's basically a row of beds, on a raised platform, with mattresses on them, with curtains separating you and the guest next to you.  Not the kind of privacy most expect in the West.  But I personally didn't feel uncomfortable changing (you change from your clothes into loose, 'scrub's' type garments, that allow for full range of motion.)  And Yes, you can hear anything going on next door and across the way, but I only heard loud breathing in parts as others were closer to the end of their experience and the masseuse was doing the yoga positions.  Again, not a bad thing, but certain stretches in yoga will instill the 'heat' common in many yoga practices.

Overall, wonderful, love it, will be back for more. :)

    Namaste.

On the road to trying something new, came here with one of my dearest friends for a day of relaxation. As you walk in, you can just feel the peacefulness of the place. I loved the atmosphere. While this was my first time getting a thai aromatherapy massage, I really didn't know what to expect. (Thank you yelp reviews!)

Check in was easy. The staff was friendly. Clean and fresh.

Jasmine was the one who gave me the massage. While I did circle 'medium' (pressure) it felt a little hard. I won't say it was the most relaxing massage I've had but she definitely took care of all the tension spots. There were some points were it really hurt but by the end, I felt really loose. And that is a good thing.

I definitely would go back again but I think I may go with 'soft' this time.

WOW!!!!!! This place is so awesome! I am so happy my co-workers recommended it. The ambiance is very cute. The rooms are close together, but when I was there all patrons were very respectful. I had a Thai aroma massage and it was so awesome. I have had massages at all types of spas- I must say this was really a great massage. I like that they gave me a dry erase card to fill out. I circled areas I wanted worked and X'd areas I didn't. I was able to specify pressure and then when massage began- there was no talking. I like that. Suchada is a very tranquil space. I will return again for sure.

This massage was weak.  I circled "medium" pressure, but barely felt a thing.  I booked online for a friend and I, and both of us did not receive the massage therapist we requested.  The massage did basically nothing for me.  There weren't many "stretching/yoga" positions except the last 4 minutes or so.  Total let down.

    Suchada Thai Massage

So my friend had been asking me to take her for a Thai Massage.  After reading Janice C. and Joanna M's reviews....I knew this would be the place.  So I came here with my friend.

As we had enter the establishment we were greeted by the receptionist.  We had checked in with her and were handed a form to fill out, basically asking what type of a massage we had wanted.  I chose the Traditional Thai Massage, while my friend chose the Thai Foot Reflexology treatment.

We were then asked to remove our shoes and socks and then escorted to our room / space.  At that point I was asked to change into some lose clothing that they had provided.

My masseuse had me lay tummy down on the mat and faced flat on the face mat......and the massage begins.
My feet was stretched and toes pulled apart.  (I kept on wondering if my little piggy's would ever go to market again or even have Roast Beef - [nursery rhyme])....Ohhh.....my poor toes.

Next my masseuse began to squished and squashed me like a pancake from head to toe.  Every part of my body was being flattened....muscles to the side...bones to the other side.  Then they flipped me over and continue to squish and squash me till my body was lose....muscles relaxed ...totally speechless....At one point I could not tell if I had been made into a human waffle.

Once loosened up...the stretching begins.  Laying flat on my tummy...they picked up my left arm and pulled back towards my right feet...holding that position for a few seconds....then the right arm pulled back towards my left feet.  OMG!!  Gumby....(little green rubber toy)...now I know how Gumby felt when I twisted him left and right.        http://www.yelp.com/bi...

Now they lifted both hands and pulled me back towards my feet while pushing my back the opposite direction....wow...a few more stretches please.

And that concluded our session.  She explained that I was still a little tight and would like to have me come back for another session or two.

Got dressed....came out and paid our fee.  Wow...feeling a little light headed, tired and weak...couldn't wait to step outside to get a breath of fresh air....Ahhh...take that deep breath....Wow!!  I'm alive....My hands and arm work...right hand...check...left hand ....check....my legs...yes I can walk and jump and run again!!

It felt as if they had put that magic hat on me and I began to sing and dance, I can run and play again.  (Frosty the Snowman)....now there is your happy ending (lots of people seem to ask that question).

    Overall ....4.5 stars!!

CAUTION!!! this massage parlor is not for everybody. I took my wife here for a 1 hour massage. This experience was awful. My wife came out in tears. I've never seen her cry after a massage. This massage was way too painful and asking for a lighter touch did not make any difference. My wife has joints that are stiff and need extra work to get at the muscles but she found the space was way too cold and in addition, the masseuse had freezing cold fingers that did not warm up even with oil, and that made the experience even worse. I think the masseuse was also too inexperienced to adjust her methods or pressure in any way.
I got massaged by Nate. The massage hurt like hell but I figured my back can take it. As I was getting my massage all I could hear from the space next to me was my wife in a lot of pain and repeated telling her masseuse to go lighter.
After the massage the receptionist at the front asked how the massage was and my wife said in tears that it was not good at all. The receptionist made a face, asked for payment and then she had the audacity to ask twice for a tip for my wife's masseuse. I could tell this girl was mad at us for telling her it was a terrible experience. I can't believe we had to pay for it at all!
    AVOID -AVOID-AVOID

I got a Thai massage here and it was pretty good.
I liked the form they give you when you're signing up since you can signify the amount of pressure you want and what parts of your body to focus on.

I guess that some of the tools they use could be more professional. For example, the thing you put your face into while lying prone is just a thing off a massage table/chair. Not that it doesn't work, but I got that "just grab anything that works" feeling.

Anyway, great interior and the staff seemed professional.
Also, it's in a cool location at the end of Embarcadero.

Wow.  I had the best massage I have ever had from Suchada. And I get massages often. I am the type that doesn't do massages for the froo froo spa experience but bc I am over stressed and over worked. So much so that I develop muscle spams and very tense muscles in my shoulder neck and lower back. Last night I was exhausted after work and in pain and pretty desperate for a massage. I called around 8:30pm bc THEY R STILL OPEN (the king St location is) and they take me right away.

First off what massage place stays open this late? And what massage place will take you for a 9pm appt when they are already closed (and are not taking you for lack of business)?  Suchada was extremely accomodating in taking me right away. They weren't annoyed at the fact I was coming in so late. And they were so friendly as they are in typical Thai culture. That is 5 stars for the service.

Another 4 stars for affordability. $65 for an hour isn't cheap but it's competitive given other places start at $85+. The best part of this was the attention to detail and care they gave me during my massage. I needed something very strong and indicated the areas in which I needed work.

10 stars for the actual experience. My massage expert worked hard to get all my kinks out. She dug deep and found the areas causing my pain. That kind of attentiveness is exceptional. Her name was Goong. I highly recommend you ask for her if you need real work done. She is great. I've been to Suchada 2-3 times previously but Goong is the best.

And to top off my Suchada experience the ambience is truly relaxing and zen-like. I listened to water (real water not some recorded notes) fall, took deep breaths of menthol and listened to calming chanting or other traditional Thai instruments.

Oh and for anyone worried that place is very clean.

I absolutely LOVE this place! My sister told me about Suchada and I decided to treat her to a 2-hour massage here for her birthday. I figured I deserved one too at the same time! ;) The prices are totally affordable especially since they offer from an hour to 2 hours.

Easy to park and absolutely gorgeous, clean, and relaxing! The massage was phenomenal and almost better than the one I got in Thailand!! Note to newbies of Thai massage: it's not a foo-foo massage. There is deep tissue involved and deep stretching of all your extremities. Plus the therapists step on your back and bend your over backwards to pretty much manipulate your spine. They have you fill out forms to let them know how hard to go and where you want them to concentrate on and where you don't want a massage at. If you like this type of massage, Suchada is heaven on earth!

I walked out feeling 2 feet taller and a million times looser. The best part was that this feeling lasted me a week! No other massage ever lasts this long, maybe a 2 days at most.

I will definitely return here again! :) And I have recommended Suchada to many, many people already!

This place is not for whimps! If you are looking for a relaxing massage, this is not it. If you don't mind having your body manipulated and man/woman-handled, this place is for you! I really felt like the toxins in my body got released. For $65/hr for the basic traditional Thai massage, it's a good deal.

I've been to both locations. The decor in both are beautiful. I only like this one on Bryant Street better because they have a couples room where you and your companion can be in the same room and share the experience together.

I have been here several times now. The fist time, it was hurtting me since this is not the relaxing spa place that I used to go to. It's more like someone was helping you doing yoga. Time pass by, I love this place. They can really work on the knots on the body and I love the Thai Herbal Massage. They have these heated herbal small bags put on your body after the intense deep massage. They opened each knots and loosen the tightness part of my neck. I feel much better each time.
Plus, the price is really worth it!!! The atmosphere and decoration also provide authentic Asian setting with warm herb tea! Love it

Basically, it's not the type of relaxing spa massage that I was used to, but I think I much prefer it.  The ambience is relaxing and soothing, and the scents you smell are kind of Asian-y more than typical spa (e.g., lavender, etc.).  You don't take off all of your clothes - they give you these loose fitting garments to put on and you don't have your own room, per se.  It's more like a partitioned off room with a bed and curtains all around.  You can kind of hear people around you but not much (unless it's a guy moaning in pain next to you).

The massage itself was massively painful at times - but in a way that I could have controlled.  I just really wanted her to work out those knots, and you're not going to get that without pain.  I really felt like she worked a lot out of me, including the reason I went in the first place - tight hip/back muscles from running/working out.

I would definitely go again - and for only $65/hour, I don't feel so bad about going more often.  Also, they don't use typical oils and stuff so I don't feel like I need to shower after.  She used some Tiger balm, but I don't mind that smell.

Thai Massage reminds me of home - Indonesia. Same style of massage with the stretching techniques that will relieve stiff muscles by loosening and then lengthening the muscles.

The interior of a Thai massage place is very different than a spa's. There are no doors and no tables, instead there are "pavilions" with mattresses on the floor, divided by curtains. Surprisingly, this place is still very quiet and serene despite the openness. When you check-in, you have to take off your shoes in a little waiting area and you can get some lemongrass tea. Then, your masseuse will bring you into your room where you can change into a loose top and pants.

I love that no matter whomever I got as my masseuse that day, I will still get a great massage. This way, I can schedule my massage around my calendar instead of the masseuse's.

They also have a card for frequent customers - one free session after 10 sessions, or something like that. I lost my card, so I have to restart, but the price here is the best - $60 an hour - considering a decent massage anywhere else in the city is about $90. Even better they have promotions all the time - they participated in Hot on Yelp, and right now $10 off 1.5 or 2 hr massage.

    Gotta make a reservation soon!

My back has been bothering me all week. I've only been to La Biang Thai in my neighbourhood for Thai Massage, luckily they were all booked, I needed to find another Thai Massage place to add some bliss to my Sunday evening. I work close to the Suchada in SOMA, but I wanted to try this location.
The staff was very nice. The interior is very relaxing and soothing. There wasn't the usual massage music in the background upstairs where my beau and I got to have a couples room! But it's nice to just try not to think and enjoy the massage.
I love a lot of pressure and the masseuse worked my tight muscles but not painful. I can't believe I haven't been to this place more!! Price is reasonable, $60/1 hr. Definitely will be a regular. I might try their King Street location next time :)

Terrific for a good, hard & deep massage.

For a Thai massage, Suchada used really great techniques to get into the deep & hard to reach areas.  Example, side lying massage with arm stretched over head to get into the knots in my armpits & shoulder blades.  The beam overhead (where the masseuse held onto while stepping all over my body) really gave the masseuse ability to adjust the pressure.

Overall I'd say the good points are that they really got into my deep knots & pricing is great for the city.  However, it's not as relaxing as a "spa" shiatsu/swedish massage  -- it's pretty much common area with very nice cubicles.

p.s. Ask for Edie - she does a terrific HAAAARD massage :)

This place exceeded my expectations.  The facilities are very clean and very beautifully decorated in Asian/Thai decor.  There's something like a raised "creek" or fountain running through the massage areas that's very, very cool.  You can hear the water running while in your session along with typical Asian music.  People speak in hushed tones so even tho there are no "walls" between the rooms (dimly lit raised Asian type beds with hanging sheets to separate the areas) it's very quiet and serene.

I got a 90 minute Thai Massage.  My masseuse, Wee was a bit difficult to understand - but very strong and friendly and tried hard to make sure I understood her questions "is it okay to do stretching? can I use oil? please hold onto my wrists".  I figured it all out okay...

The massage was great.  It was my first time, so I filled out a form when I first got there, circled my problem areas and was immediately led into my session.  They give you (ladies) shorts and a tank top to wear during your massage.  The top looked like it was about XXXL but I realized later - it's to give the masseuse room to maneuver underneath while working on your back - without having to actually remove your clothes.  You can tell them as they go whether you do/do not like or want certain things.  Like if the massage is too light/firm - you can let them know.  If you don't want the stretching part (just the pressure points) you can let them know.  If you don't want oil - you can let them know.

Go figure...I want to feel like I got a massage after I get a massage.  You know what I mean?  Like if someone just rubbed their palms over my back for an hour - that's not good enough.  The Thai massage is a combination of pressing on pressure points in your body, stretching your muscles and deep tissue style massaging.  Immediately after my massage, I could tell the circulation in my body had changed and I felt that "good" kinda soreness in my problem areas where she had spent extra time.  This is my kinda massage.

I was about to give them 4 stars, but because of the price - I'm moving it to 5.  I can't get such an effective massage for this price anywhere else.

I will be going back.  And next time - probably a 120 minute session.  It's that good...

I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to spas and massage places - my benchmark is Burke Williams, and there is rarely a place that matches up to BW in the Bay Area. But this place gives THE BEST massages and I keep going back and am amazed every time at how great I feel when I leave.

The setting is tranquil - everything from light meditative music, to an ambiance that takes you to Thailand, to their awesome cotton pajamas they put you in, to the expert and professional massages and then the lemongrass tea which I can never get enough of. And for only $60-$70 for a massage, you can't beat that anywhere without compromising all of the above.

I have received many a Thai massage, and I found Suchada to be top notch.  It is a bit more expensive than most Thai massage businesses, especially when compared to those in LA, but  Suchada is still markedly cheaper than receiving a massage at a spa.

    -very friendly reception staff
-easy to find street parking nearby, free or ultra cheap during the week
-attractive decor, from the dark wood floors & platforms, fountains, curtains and mattress linens
    -nice, private bathroom
-self-serve yummy lemon grass tea to drink before or after massage
-WONDERFUL, STRONG massage, it's obvious my therapist is well trained and has a lot of experience under her belt

It's the day after and I feel like a million bucks.  My only complaint is that sometimes people in the waiting area talk really loud.  A sign or polite reminder from the staff when entering the quiet areas would be great.

For the past 3 weeks or so my upper right shoulder has been hurting.  It could be a case of carpal tunnel since I'm on my laptop and desktop all day long.  I walked by Suchada on Bryant St a couple of times and I remembered how I loved my Thai massage in Thailand.  I went here yesterday with two friends...WOW!

The decor is fantastic and my masseuse Alex was AWESOME!  I had a 90 min Thai massage with a $10 discount when you mention YELP! :)

We were given pajama/yoga pants and tops to wear.  I like how they give u a chart and you circle in the parts of your body to concentrate one.  Alex brought the chart into our session.  He confirmed where and started to work the knots.  I will definitely be back.

I like the traditional decor and I loved the massage!

A few days before our wedding we got massages here. I've gotten several Thai massages including a bunch all over Thailand and by far this was the worst massage I've ever had. There was nothing Thai about it - it was painful, there was no stretching, and my therapist barely understood English so she didn't understand what I was telling her nor did she communicate to me that this was the kind of massage I was getting.

When I complained to the front office they told me because I had circled parts of my body for the therapist to concentrate on, I was getting a different massage than the regular Thai one. Would have been nice to communicate that to me before we started! I was not offered anything in return for my $60 beating.

From reading all of the Yelp reviews, it seems as though I had a different experience - there was no "yoga", no stretching, and it didn't matter how strong my therapist was, she was HORRIBLE.

I will never come back here and am extremely disappointed in all of the positive Yelp reviews.

I realized that I did something moronic there hours after I left. Since it was my first visit, I didn't read the dry erase card properly. I thought you're supposed to circle the areas on the body diagram that you don't want touched. So I circled the chest/boob and neck area.

They gave me a male masseur. It wasn't till halfway through that he clarified that for the spots you don't want them to touch, you have to X them out, NOT circle! They probably thought I was looking for some weird pervy massage.

    Eeeeeeeeek.

Boom was the Bomb!  My girl was Boom and she was fantastic.  I have never had a massage quite like this.  Getting to the location was easy, parking was a breeze.  This was the BEST deep tissue, stretching massage I have ever had.  I took advantage of the 10.00 off YELP discount which they happily extended to me.  Be sure to mention it though when you are checking out or you won't get it.  My hubby treated me to a 2 hour treatment for my birthday and this was so far the best present ever!  I'll be back.  5 STARS, hands down.

Yay~ I'm a fan!  This massage made my day!
They were very thorough, and the environment was very clean and comfortable.  The front desk was pretty nice too, and I liked the hot decaf herb tea they offered.   I would love to go back every week!

I have been a loyal customer ever since they started their first location in the richmond district. I don't know how anyone could NOT like their massages! All the women are super strong, and when you leave your session you feel like you just performed yoga. lol

Recently, I visited this new location, and it is quite beautiful... great ambiance, peaceful, and makes you wanna sleep haha. Plus, the owner is so sweet and makes sure that you are happy with your massage. Although I'm located on the far other end of the city, it's worth the drive and in a great location with easy parking.

I decided to come here after the reviews were pretty solid.  I had scheduled a 90 minute massage.  Comparing it to La Biang Thai, I'd say they were probably nicer, in terms of the service and the massage itself.  During the yoga parts, they weren't as aggressive with the stretching, which is good since bending my body is like bending a brick, lol.

The place itself is nice, as there is a moat in the middle when you get situated in the room.  Prices are great, so there's no reason not to come here if you're thinking about a thai massage.

I would like to sincerely express my gratitude for my overwhelmingly positive interpersonal experiences with the front desk Staff and for Massage Therapist Edie.  In regard to the front desk staff, both Fa and Salina extend themselves beyond what most front desk staff at Spas do by actually pouring me a cup of warm thai tea and making sure that I understood that water is available as well.  They have done this after my treatment.  In our mean spirited and tightfisted world, these basic humanistic gestures affects me as water affect a parched plant..  Edie my Massage manifests this dynamic to its most humanistic degree.
I have had back pain for most of my adult life and have consulted chiropractors and acupressure therapists and do yoga and work out at gym to alleviate tension.  I find that traditional thai body work through Edie addresses my ailments by incorporating all of previous courses of treatment.  She does this by stretching, pulling and contorting me into yoga like positions and postures while encouraging me to deep deeply.   Edie does this through a reservoir of knowledge of the human body, as expressed through thai body work with care, concern, and love manifested through Theravadic Buddha Teachings.
After my 4th treatment with Edie, I feel compelled to recommend Suchada massage to you all and would like to recommend Edie in particular.  You will come away feeling like feeling relieved from your pain and hopefully feel a deep sense of connection with all of creation.  If only the World were more like Suchada massage, then perhaps we would pause and reflect on ourselves before saying and doing.  Thank you for your time and reading my words.

This is my favorite massage place to frequent. While I haven't been to Thailand for the ridiculously cheap but authentic massages, this place is extremely reasonably priced for something in this area. I believe the shortest traditional Thai massage you can get is 1 hour; the price is $1/minute no matter how long you decide to go after the minimum.

I've been here several times now, and will keep coming back. At my first visit, I requested a "hard" massage since that's how I get them at other places; that was a big mistake! I was in so much pain, yet had too much pride to tell them it hurt. That was my fault, not theirs. These days, I just get the medium massage and it's still plenty strong. I really like the fact that they all have the ability to give anything from a soft to a hard massage; I'm sure it takes a lot of skill. The masseuses are all quite good (whether male or female) because they use leverage from their body from all angles to massage and stretch you out. They'll make any area you need them to work on feel way better than before you arrived. Sure, it hurts when they get your knots out, but boy do they get your knots out. There is no other way to do it than to literally push them out, and that's what they do.

The stretching parts of the massage are fantastic! These guys stretch you in ways you can't begin to imagine, and it all feels great. Makes me think there is no need to go to a chiropractor after they're done with you.

I highly recommend giving this place a chance; I bet you'll love it and go back for more!

Amazing. I had never had a Thai massage and after a friend told me about how great they were we were on the phone booking 2 appointments within minutes. She did warn me ahead of time that it was going to be intense, the lady would stretch my body, and walk on my back. I was excited.

The massage itself was wonderful. I left feeling like no part of my body went unworked, untreated or ignored. I felt like a blissful ball of putty for a couple of hours afterwords. We made an oath to each other to schedule Thai massage dates monthly.

Sooo....my girlfriends suggested I try this place out.  $60 for an hour massage.  Bargain deal.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into.  This isn't your typical massage that's for sure! Be prepared for some bone crackin' and UFC wrestling moves! A bit caught off guard at times but overall experience was SU-PERB!  You have three choices of pressure: Soft, Medium, or Strong.  I went with medium - my masseuse was pretty strong. LOL! Guess I shoulda went with soft.

Beautifully decorated; serene ambiance, and very "thai" centric.

More bang for your buck! This is a hidden treasure in SF.  Definitely coming back for more...

Meh - I don't get all the 5 star reviews.  I desperately needed a massage after a crazy day at work and I was able to get a same day appointment - awesome.  But, I ask my therapist to focus on my shoulder/neck and she basically ignored that request.  Most of the work was done in my mid-back, which needed no special attention.  Yeah, maybe I should have reminded her, but I found it awkward to speak in that setting because there are no real walls AND she had a chart with my shoulders/neck circled!  The work that she did do didn't feel that great.  I have only had one other Thai massage at  La Biang and it was soooo awesome.

If I am desperate, I may come back and try a different therapist...

One word as I walked out of there in a jello-y state of bliss: WOW.

I am an avid Yelper but have never written a review; this place actually made me want to take the time to write one. I'd been experiencing a lot of stress lately and kept complaining about needing a massage badly, so my wonderful boyfriend went on Yelp this morning, looked up "massage", found this little gem, and treated me to 60 minutes of heaven here.

I was immediately impressed as I set foot into the place...the ambiance was so relaxing, so authentically Thai (even though I've never been to Thailand), and I felt like I had stepped into a magical place of tranquility and serenity.

This was my first ever Thai massage experience so I really did not know what to expect. I was shown my "room" which was right next to the little "stream" with floating lotus flowers. The "rooms" are divided by curtains, so you have to be really quiet. I was surprised to find that I would be laying on a padded mat on the floor, and when I looked up and saw hanging "ropes" from the beams, I thought to myself "Oh boy, this is gonna be goooooood!".

I am no stranger to deep-tissue massage but they really exemplify the definition of a deep-tissue massage. I had asked for a "Medium-Strong", but as my masseur ("Pom") began working on my legs, I had to ask him to tone it down to just a "Medium". And boy, he really did a number on all the knots that had been bothering me for weeks on end. I had to breathe through a lot of the pain, but it was so worth it.

The experience ended with a yoga-istic/chiropractic stretch of all parts of my body. It was truly amazing. I hadn't practiced yoga in months, so the stretches were definitely rejuvenating. Namaste. It was a very happy ending. (No, not THAT kind of happy ending! :-P)

I left the place and my boyfriend described me as being a "totally renewed person". That is definitely how I felt walking out of there.

I am definitely a true fan of this place and will recommend it to all my friends. Maybe even buy them gift certificates here. $60 for an hour is a very very reasonable price!!

Wow! Astonishing, flabbergasting, ?!**gnjfk, massage that will make you into a new person, or at least a loose pretzel.

I came here a few days after my father passed away in February.  Following a lot of back and forth driving up North, restless nights with my family, and the emotional toll of grief, I decided it was absolutely necessary for a deep, deep massage.

Booked easily online the day before, and walked there from my friend's place in Nob Hill on an uncharacteristically gorgeous winter day.  I was whisked right into one of the little massage spaces, and Edie promptly popped in after reviewing the self-written body chart, which you fill out when you get there.

Unlike most massage places, "medium pressure" actually means "deep pressure", which is just what I wanted.  Despite not weighing more than 100 lbs, most likely, she really gets deep, and I could just feel my muscles and lymphs dancing for joy. She definitely activated all of the pressure receptors in my body, and the 60 minutes was just a perfect sensory and emotional release.  I felt a little lightheaded and nauseous when I was walking out, which I hope was due to the release of all the bad juju that had been circulating in my body!

Walking home in a cerebral state, I remembered a line from an ode by John Dryden, "Rich the treasure/Sweet the pleasure/Sweet is pleasure after pain."

Fantastic! I've been getting massages for years. I don't know why I waited so long to get a Thai massage. I don't think I'll ever go back to swedish or deep tissue massages again. Mike was my practitioner. He is absolutely amazing. I feel like a new person.

This weekend, I wen to Suchada Thai Massage for the second time. My first time I'd gone to the King street location and had a :P blah experience. This time, however, at their nicer, Bryant street location, I was under the hands of one of their masseuses Don who really took care of me. I had suggested that i needed more attention in my back, but Don was able to find the exact spots himself. He worked and worked until my tension was gone. Now I don't whince when people happen to touch my back. Don was really attentive to the needs of my body and fixed me! He is the MAN!
