Love this place...

Do not go as often as I would like, cuz Im about an hour from it... but every single time I go, it's just fantastic.

I wish there were more non meat places like this one!

Let me preface this by saying that Im not really a vegetarian/vegan. Ive been doing a vegan diet to lose weight, and my boyfriend recommended this place.

The ambiance is nice for a date. The bar area was pretty, especially with the TV screen with changing impressionist artwork. Drank a glass of organic white wine recommended by our waitress, and she chose a good one for what I was looking for. As an appetizer we had the Eggplant Rollatini, which was OK, and the sweet potato fries, delicious!!! My favorite part of the meal.

As a main course I was torn between the Enchilada and the Loaf. Our waitress recommended the loaf as a healthier option, so I went for it. Normally I do like lentils, brown rice, couscous... but this was disappointed. I added some salt and it was still just OK. My boyfriend had the quiche, which is his favorite dish here. He said it was slightly overcooked but still yummy.

To make up for the disappointing main course, I had to have dessert. I ordered the chocolate cake and my bf ordered the apple crisp. Both very yummy and a nice ending.

All in all I wouldnt choose to go here again. My bf felt the same and said he would just take the quiche to go next time he gets a hankering for it.

First off, I am not a die hard vegan, however to keep my "highways" moving easy, I like to take in vegetarian dishes from time to time. It is a nice space, but for the size of the menu it is very big and more a kin to a cafe rather than a full fledged restaurant atmosphere. It is tough to bridge vegetarian and fine cuisine and this is a shaky bridge. Our amuse bouche was a dry triangle each of pesto tofu. Might have been nice for a grilled piece of tofu that had been marinated in some italian spice and added the pesto sauce on top. Crispy Eggplant Rollatini and the Fire Roasted Artichoke. Not bad starters. We then split the Mediterranean pizza and the Sublime Loaf. While we love med food, the pizza was very dry and could have used an eggplant ragu or even the tzatski sauce as a warm yogurt dressing to add some depth to it. Only there this past Friday and can't remember anything outstanding about the Loaf.

I have had better vegetarian cuisine at less grand palaces.

I ate here when they first opened.  The food was fresh, presented beautifully, and expensive.
Wine list was strong.
Portions were small.

My consensus of this place is that vegetables should not be so expensive.

Seeing as how I could never give up meat ever, I admit I was skeptical when this place was recommended to me. Walking in, you actually feel, hmmm.. .sublime! Its a very calming atmosphere with comfy seats and great decor.

What amused me the most was reading the menu seeing all of the thinks in quotes - ex "butter", "mozzarella", "steak".

You must get a drink - everything we tried was awesome. Then we figured, while we're there, we might as well eat. We started with the artichoke (meh) and sushi (better than meh). Our entrees faired better - the ravoli was great, the pizza was good (needed a bit more spice though), but the loaf was delish.

A fellow Yelp-er recommended the coconut cake and the three of us split it. Do yourself a favor and get your own. And do not share. This thing was A-MAZING!

Overall, based on price and value, I'd give this place 3 stars. The extra star is for the do-goer owner! Owner Nanci founded the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida (ARFF). 100% of Sublime's profits will go to organizations that promote animal welfare and a vegan lifestyle.

Second time I've been here, the first time was years ago and I don't remember enjoying it as much as I did this past Friday evening.

We started off with the Florasian sushi roll - and this was definitely the star of our dinner. My friend and I could've easily devoured 3 of these in one sitting. It is by far one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had - and it should be noted, I am not a vegetarian by any means. The mango, tempura avocado, vegenaise, and toasted coconut shimmy to create a wonderful mix of flavors in your mouth. You'll definitely wish the appetizer came with more pieces because it's addicting!

The Sublime Picatta was also delicious, though lacking a little bit of heat (temperature wise). The asparagus they top the entree with is huge and melts in your mouth. (note the finger in the photo - that's just to give a visualization of how big their asparagus was)

I ordered a margarita to accompany my meal, and it was by far one of the best restaurant margaritas I've had. Kudos to the bartender that evening because it was perfectly executed. My friend ordered the Berry Bluetini, which unfortunately tasted more like vodka than anything else.

As for the service, our waitress was a doll and made great recommendations throughout the evening.

The only fault I have with this restaurant is that I wish they offered more choices on their menu, but aside from that it's a-ok in my book. I'd definitely give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Don't know what the big deal is here.... it's all hype it seems to me!  It's organic and vegan and pretty.... yeah, yeah, yeah.

This is probably one of the worst restaurants I've been to, if you primarily care about tasty food.  If you are a vegan, than this might be heaven for you..... beautiful environment, good service, high quality food and preparation, nice presentation.... all good so far.... but then you taste the food.  Not impressive at all.  I went with a big party and tried several of my friend's dishes... all mediocre.  The pastas I tried were tolerable, the "meat" loaf alright, the pot pies could have used lots more flavor, maybe even a little salt.

HOWEVER, my taste buds did dance for the desserts.  We ordered them all and they were all incredibly delicious.  ALL of them!  Oh, and the mojitos were also very good.  If there is a next time for me, it'll be for drinks and dessert.

You know a place is awesome when you eat there as your first stop on vacation and the rest of the week your (omnivore) family is like "this is NOTHING compared to Sublime... I miss Sublime... do you remember the ___ from Sublime... do you think Sublime delivers to the ocean??"

My first cavier EVAH. (yes, vegan-how did they DO that?!)
+ the best pizza my (omnivore) dad has ever had. EVAH.
(okay is that EVAH getting annoying? Sorry.)

PLUS owner Nanci donates all the net profits, and has run her own group for 20 years. TWENTY YEARS! I was learning cursive 20 years ago. FAB!

I don't remember the last time I had so much food at one meal.  This vegan delight in Ft. Lauderdale is a treasure.  I had the pleasure of going here with my father, his wife, and my boyfriend.  My father is not even close to vegetarian and I don't think he's even been in a vegetarian restaurant.  I was worried about what he'd think of the food.

My father's wife is always anxious to try foods, so she ordered not 1 - not 2 - but 3 appetizers.  We also received one, compliments of the chef!  We ordered the Frito Misto, Rice Paper Spring Rolls, Crispy Eggplant Rollatini.  My father actually loved the Frito Misto!

As if the 3+ appetizers weren't enough, I had the Mac 'n "Cheese".  I actually wasn't expecting it to be very good, but it actually was.  I got to try my boyfriend's "Steak" sandwich, my father's Margherita Classico pizza, and my stepmother's Linguini Puttanesca.  There wasn't a bad meal in the bunch.

Again, as if appetizers and full meals weren't enough, I was talked into having dessert.  We had the Chocolate Nirvana.  OH BOY.  I think everyone loved this gem and we waddled out of the restaurant thoroughly stuffed.

If you have a chance to go to Sublime, go!!  The restaurant is beautiful.  The staff is nice.  The food is yummy.  Best of all - 100% of Sublime's profits go to organizations that promote animal welfare and a vegan lifestyle.  You can't go wrong!

For South Florida vegans it is the only choice that I know of.  The food is pretty good, a little pricey in my opinion.  I loved the sliders.  I don't eat meat or dairy, so this was a great treat for me.  I could claim they taste just like little cheeseburgers, but I don't really remember, so I don't want to mislead.

I was in Asheville, NC early in the year and there vegan places blow this one right out of the water on every level.  Maybe they should get some menu ideas from them.  The Laughing Seed was vegan food that anyone could eat and would not be able to tell the difference.  The apps, drinks, dinner and deserts all ROCKED!

Until we have another choice, I will continue to eat here and hope their selection improves.

I do believe this was a palatable choice. The decor was OK, It was upscale Ft. Lauderdale I kept thinking to myself and therefor forgave the paintings on the wall that looked like they should've been accompanied by a steel drum band. The hostess was a total pretentious moron with a bitter face, and unfortunately when you are at the front of the house the person who greets your guests is a representation of the establishment itself...lets just say that if she was reflective of the place it was surely going to lack luster. I still however did go and sit at my table with my guest with an open mind.

As I perused the menu I couldn't help but notice that there was really a limited number of options and the pricing was a bit on the high side, considering everything was made with wheat and beans and rice, I thought that is relatively inexpensive and therefor the food was priced a bit unfairly, but I thought if it's good then it will be worth every dime.

I ordered the Florasian Roll, which was a sushi roll with cucumber avocado and mango in it with coconut flakes on the outside and my guest ordered the macaroni and "cheese". I was really excited to see how they would pull this off.

Our sever then brings us 2 triangles of pesto polenta, and honestly it was a great idea, but the flavor just wasn't there for me. It tasted like arroz con pollo to me.

We were then brought our entrees. Sublime definitely get an A+ for presentation. If I had eaten with my eyes this would've gotten at least 4 stars from me... but I eat with my mouth.

My sushi was dry and made me realize why I would never be a vegetarian and when I sampled my guests mac and "cheese" I realized I would never ever be vegan. Th The food was just not on point. The macaroni was over cooked and the "cheese" sauce was awful, very bland with a stale after taste.

What saved this meal was when the server came to our table and said when you buy an entree on Tuesday you get to choose any dessert and it's complimentary. We ordered their chocolate nirvana cake that was covered in a rich vegan chocolate ganache and layered with a soy cream Kahlua mixture in between layers of fluffy vegan chocolate cake. We also ordered the Sublime sundae and asked that they put it on the cake. Although it sounded like we were over ordering but it was perfect. The vegan fudge on the soy vanilla ice cream rivals any fudge I had ever had an and my guest agreed.

What made this place OK, was the food presentation, the fact that our server was so nice he made up for the gross hostess and the amazing 2 dessert's in one.

What a beautiful restaurant. Soaring ceilings, gorgeous artwork, a wall of water (as if there isn't enough rain there!) and wonderful food.
Large portions - the eggplant rolatini appetizer was the best, though all the dishes were delicious. Put this place in L.A. and the entrees would be another $5-10 each.
Fabulous desserts too.

At the unwavering advice of other friends that have experienced it, we went Sat. night. Every once in a while, I run across a restaurant that puts forth the quintessential package. They do everything they do, almost flawlessly. The only difference is, they are all vegan. Sublime is an innovative concept in vegetarian dining that's completely cholesterol-free with an award-winning menu featuring natural and organic foods and spirits from around the globe.
Aside from thrilling the taste buds of this carnivore, Sublime's interior decors and designs are treats for the eye. Cascading window waterfalls, skylights, Italian  tiles, an open-hearth oven, and exotic trees reminiscent of a tropical rain forest are just part in part of the ambiance. Amongst receiving numerous accolades, it has been awarded USA Today's top 10 in the nation for serving cuisine with a clear conscience. And after the owner/manager Nanci Alexander came by our table to chat, it was a real feel good place to be. She told me they have been visited by numerous celebrities and they too had awarded laudatory notice, including Paul McCartney. What a night that must have been? Others include Pamela Anderson, Alec Baldwin, Alicia Silverstone, Florence Henderson and Bob Barker.

We started with drinks and appetizers;
4 Stars - A Pomegranate Wheat Beer that they were out of but substituted by a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, $6.00
5 Stars - A Watermelon Margarita Tierras organic tequila, agave nectar, fresh lime juice, fresh muddled watermelon $9.00.
5 Stars - The Frito Misto crispy cauliflower, sweet chili sauce, $12.00 - Large portion big enough for 3 or 4 to share. Florets drenched in semi sweet sauce and sprinkled with herbs and crispy seeds. Delicious.
2 Stars - Fire-Roasted Artichoke panko breadcrumbs, garlic "butter" sauce $10.00 - Only major disappointment of the night. It was served under cooked and it was extremely small. Our server knew we were splitting this and should have alerted us. The leaves were still raw and just unacceptable. After my concern was aired, they cooked it a little further in the microwave which did the trick at least tenderness wise. An ample amount of minced garlic adorned the leaves but it was too late, just no fun. My standard would be 3-4 times this size to feed one person.

Dinner Entrees;
5 Stars - Sublime Loaf lentils, brown rice, water chestnut, couscous, grilled asparagus, $19.00. - Incredible rich taste with subtleties of pot roast or meat loaf. Beautifully presented.
4 Stars - Mac 'n' "Cheese" elbow pasta, "cheddar" bechamel, Dijon crumbles, seasonal vegetable, $13.00. - Presented bubbling hot in it's own baking dish, you'd never know it wasn't real cheddar cheese sauce. Naturally, I was wishing for a sharper taste but that's my problem. The veggies were yellow and green squash,  seasoned in OVOO and essence of garlic.
4 Stars - Tuscan Quiche tofu, "mozzarella", wood-fired artichokes, braised spinach, house salad, $16.00. - I'm not sure what the individual that ordered this thought of it but she ended up trading it for box number one, the "Sublime Loaf lentils". It's recipient seemed to love it.

After the meal;
5 Stars - Coconut Cake yellow cake, coconut "butter-cream," almond tuile, $11.00. - A very unique taste of light cake with the butter-cream rising to the top in richness and sweetness. Homemade through and through.
5 Stars - Chocolate Nirvana "milk chocolate", Kahlua "butter creme", dark chocolate ganache, $11.00. - It was sooooo good, she wouldn't let anyone come close with a fork. She tasted my Coconut Cake. Oh the injustice.
5 Stars - Gourmet Vegan Chocolate handmade in Belgium, 9 pieces, $15.00. - These appeared a little old in appearance as they were gray in color as the sealed box was opened. But in their defense, that may have been condensate from being refrigerated. I didn't taste them but they disappeared from sight lickity split.

I'm under the impression Sublime exists not as much as a restaurant but as in a means in supporting Animal Rights.  "In 1989, Nanci founded the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida (ARFF) and has been volunteering as president since. The creation of Sublime is an extension of her efforts to reduce animal cruelty.

The goal of Sublime is to show that plant-based food can indeed be sublime.  Additionally, 100% of Sublime's profits go to organizations that promote animal welfare and a vegan lifestyle."

If this appeals to you, come out and aide support to a great cause. If not, come out and see how absolutely wonderful great architecture meld with exquisite culinary imagination can get without killing anything except those poor screaming vegetables.

~~ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ~~

Sublime was great years ago but seems to have gone done hill over the last 2 years.
Last time I was there I had the Sublime Picatta and while it tasted great the portion was a bit small and was luke warm when I got it.  My husband got the pizza and while he always likes it, everytime its different.
We love the Cesar salad and deserts are hit or miss since they lost their pastry chef a few years ago.  The coconut cake they do not make in house but get it from a kosher baker in Miami, still its great.

The decor is nice.  I do wish they had specials.  They took the sliders off of the menu and i have no idea why, they were great.  Though its a bit pricey it really isnt compared to most upscale resturants which is obvious it is trying to be.  Same prices as fancy ny vegan resturants but obviously not as cheap as their casual places like Kates or Red Bamboo.

Since its the only Vegan place I know in Ft. Lauderdale I will keep going back in hopes that it will be a hit that night and not a miss.  Lately it depends.

Consistently Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Florida.

I make a point to make reservations at sublime every time my boyfriend and me are in FL. We have eaten at Sublime atleast  6 times in last 3 years.

FAVORITE MENU ITEM:
The Caviar appetizer is unbelievably delicious. It's made of seaweed and has the exact same texture as fish caviar but tastes lighter. The appetizer is better then the caviar pizza, because the crust in the pizza is heavy and overwhelms the caviar, and there's way too much sour cream on it. In comparison, the appetizer includes buttery bellini's (mini pancakes) which are a perfect complement to the taste and texture of the caviar.
You can buy jars of the caviar, but they do not travel well. Mines melted at some point on the flight back to Chicago.

FAVORITE DESSERT:
The Coconut cake is the best vegan cake I have had so far. Better then every cake I have had at Chicago Diner here, which is pretty hard to top. It's an extremely dense and moist cake exploding with real coconut. A crunchy almond tuile tops off the decadent goodness, and adds a tasty texture contrast to the cake.

Only downside, is lack of seasonal items. The menu doesn't seem to change much. On the upside you know exactly what to expect, but it could get boring after too many visits.

It's an all vegan menu, beautiful interior, and they donate all profits to an animal rights group. They probably walk on water too.

I was in South Florida for a brief visit and gathered a few old and new friends; the restaurant was able to accommodate with a large table for 12. Dinner was delicious and I was the only vegan of the group.

I had a faux meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy, and asparagus. I would have preferred a different vegetable...like something my mother would have made with meatloaf before my epiphany...like peas and carrots?

Unfortunately we were all too full for dessert. I wish I could go back as I do love to partake in vegan desserts.

The evening would have been perfect but one friend's car was broken into during our meal -- she was parked in their back lot. As the manager walked out with me to see my friend and her car one of their staff ran up to tell her that her car had also been broken into.

The whole thing was quite unfortunate. We were in the  lot for over an hour, waiting for the cops, cleaning up all of the glass, and theorizing on why two cars would have windows smashed but nothing stolen.

And several of us wondered why with all the help staff around tending to the manager and her car, no one offered much solace for us. Like a cookie or beverage? So...I think several of us left with a bitter taste.

We're not entirely vegetarian but we definitely appreciate a GLUTEN FREE menu when we can get get it.  And as manic-organics there aren't enough places, especially in FL  that cater to a GF and/or organic bunch like ourselves.

The food tasted wonderful and the menu was very clear, stating which plates were vegan, gf etc.  You can imagine what a relief it is to have such a clear menu and knowledgeable staff while on a restricted diet.

The cocktails are fabulous.  The decor was nice and the staff was friendly.

I do wish they add a GF desert to their menu which are always few and far between.

Happy Eating!

Wow - this has got to be one of the best vegetarian restaurants I've ever been to. Essentially they use similar faux meats as asian restaurants do, but preparing them with contemporary american methods. A simple but brilliant idea. Food is prepared with a refined touch, fully justifying the price.

As others have stated before, the profits are donated to a good cause. This is a must-try for vegans/vegetarians.

I've had the pleasure of eating at Sublime twice now. Once on a stop over in Ft Lauderdale on my way to the Carribean and again on a business trip. I actually  chose to fly into Ft. Lauderdale instead of Miami just so I could eat here and at least enjoy part of my Sunday that got wasted on work.

Not only is the food here outrageously good vegan comfort food, but 100% OF THE PROFITS ARE DONATED TO ANIMAL RIGHTS GROUPS. 100% people! That alone is reason enough to dine here. But extra surprising given that it is a large, upscale establishment. And I hear they will soon be adding a selection of raw dishes to the menu.

On my most recent visit I had the picatta with sauteed greens and mashed potatoes. Really really tasty and I liked the lemon sauce on it - I didn't find it too salty at all. Their fake meat here actually has the exact texture of chicken. I also got a coconut cake slice to go and it was huge and yummy.

There were so many things on the menu that looked good -especially the pizzas. I wish I could eat here more often and that I'd have someone with me so I could order more things to sample. I'll definitely be back here if I ever have another excuse to visit South Florida.

let me first say that i am *not* vegetarian.  i like eating meat.  i also like cheese and eggs and dairy - so i'm nowhere remotely close to ever becoming vegan.  just a few short years ago, the word 'vegetable' was still evil and foreign to me.

and yet, for all that, i have, for the past several years, wanted to eat at a vegetarian restaurant - just to see what it was like.  so, my ears perked up when i heard 'vegan restaurant'.  i was excited!

Sublime did not disappoint.

walking in, this place is beautiful.  we were seated next to a wall of three separate waterfall windows.  the lighting, the decor, the waitstaff's uniforms - all mesh together to create a classy yet comfortable setting.

for appetizers, we took our waiter's suggestions and ordered the Frito Misto (fried cauliflower in a sweet chili sauce) and Crispy Eggplant Rollatini (tofu, eggplant, and 'ricotta' and 'mozzerella' cheese substitutes).  i am not usually a fan of cauliflower.  in fact, i pretty much refuse to eat it.  this cauliflower was incredible.  it was lightly dusted and fried to perfection.  the chili sauce was spicy and sweet and the perfect combination with the cauliflower.  hands down, we decided we'd come back to this restaurant based on this dish alone.  the rollatini were also very good.  the outsides were crisp and we had to ask about the fake cheese, simply because it really was that good.

for entrees, we ordered the Sublime Picatta (Gardein cutlets with a lemon caper sauce, grilled asparagus, and olive oil whipped mashed potatoes) and the BBQ Tofu Brick Oven Pizza on whole wheat crust (grilled tofu, red onions, 'mozzerella' and bbq sauce). the Picatta is one of the restaurant's signature dishes, and of all the reviews i read, people liked this entree the best.  i was pleased with the texture of the cutlets, the potatoes were really yummy, and the asparagus was good... however, i felt like the sauce was missing something.  the pizza was light and tasty, but again, we felt like the sauce was missing something.  we both agreed we'd probably skip entrees next time and just order few appetizers and then dessert.

since my birthday is next thursday, we decided this would be my birthday dinner together (i'll be out of town for my actual birthday).  we ordered the Chocolate Nirvana (chocolate cake, kahlua creme, dark chocolate ganache). the plate came out with Happy Birthday written in chocolate and a birthday candle burning brightly.  i made a wish and took a bite of one of the most delicious chocolate desserts i have ever eaten. how on earth they made ganache without cream ... i'm not sure i want to know because it will destroy the mystery of the fabulousness!

this is an experience i not only enjoyed immensely, but want to repeat! we will definitely return to Sublime.

I thought the food was pretty good, for vegan fare. My fake meat almost tasted like real flesh (a bonus)! The drinks were sort of whatever, considering the waiter told me it would be the best mojito I'd ever tasted. The deserts were not so good. I mean, you can make a mean vegan chocalate cake, but don't try and make it spongy--make it dense.  It is pretty expensive, and kind of a long drive from Miami. If I were vegetarian I would probably be up here a lot. Thankfully, I'm not.

Quite enjoyable if you're into the vegan and/or uncooked thing.  It's definitely worth a try.

Update post reopening:

I'm actually a bit disappointed with the way it's developed since they reopened.  The dishes just don't seem as enjoyable as they were previously.  From what the waiter told me, it looks like they're trying to standardize and simplify the menu in preparation for expanding beyond their one location.

Having said that, the food and atmosphere are still far better than many restaurants out there, but I'm just not sure it's worth the effort unless you're a vegan/vegetarian.

Also, dessert was QUITE a let down.

We went to this restaurant in 2004 and both the atmosphere and the food were wonderful. There's not many vegan restaurants in South Florida and everything including the desserts were wonderful. The restaurant has been closed and has some new owners. It will reopen on Friday, April 21, 2006.

We attended a re-opening party Wednesday, April 19, 2006. They served drinks and appetizers. We sampled their Spicy Tempura Frito Misto (tempura coated cauliflower dried with sweet chilli sauce), Baked Creamy Mac-and-Cheese and a chocolate ice cream dessert. They were serving pomitini martinis (pomogranite juice and vodka) , orange juice screw drivers (organic vodka) and green tea martinis.

There is valet parking.

Fantastic. And I'm not even vegetarian!

Yes, the food is pretty damn sublime here. We had a vegie club that tasted almost like the real thing. Their soups and salads were also very good, as well as their banana cream pie dessert.

Prices are reasonable for vegan fare, and you can seriously taste the quality here. I was more than surprised, and quite pleased. And after you eat, go out back to the canal and if you're lucky, you may see a bunch of turtles swimming around (if that kind of thing interests you).

Sublime is the only all vegan option I know of in Fort Lauderdaale / Miami area.  It used to be SO delicious. Now it is still really good tasting food but the prices have gone up while the food hasn't.. some dishes have been updated or changed and I liked the old way better. That combined with the raise in prices has made it fall a couple of notches on my list.

If you have never been it is worth checking out. I don't go as often as I used to.

Dessert is a must. I recommend the Coconut cake

It's a vegetarian place.  Human beings are omnivores for a reason.  This restaurant is Exhibit A.

Nearly three months later I once again find myself in Fort Lauderdale eating at the Sublime bar and thanking god that this place is still here and still amazing. Still great food, still great service, and very reasonably priced.

This place is a must for vegans and vegetarians and I'd even recommend Sublime to anyone who wants to try something different. I used to go here a lot more when I was vegan and I still go sometimes. I've had a couple dishes here that I really didn't care for but for the most part the food is quite delicious--even for being vegan food.

A vegan landmark in an otherwise depressing and non-descript area of Broward County.  The service can be a bit spotty, but the food is as the name of the place implies -- it doesn't miss for either lunch or dinner, and every course from apps to dessert is unfailingly good.   It's great for vegans and for those who want to experiment with eating a plant-based diet for just an evening.  One walks away full and happy, reminded that sensory pleasure and good ethics don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Was on vacation in March, recommended by tour book. It was okay. Food was alright. I feel we paid for the trying-to-be-fancy surroundings more than the food itself. The pot pie was tasty, but nothing to shout about. Non alcoholic Lychee drink for $7 was absurd. Wish we had driven to Whole foods a few blocks down and gotten a prepared meal there instead. We weren't blown away, would have given 2 stars but compared to most of the meals we had that week, I guess 3 stars is fair. One star for food, one for having a good cause behind it, and another for being less crappy than the deep friendness of everything else from there to key west!

Oooh! I don't like where these newer reviews are going... a couple years ago, we spent Christmas in Miami and (after searching hi and low for a decent veg option in town) we meandered up to Fort Lauderdale to see about the only meat-free eatery Google steered us to in a 100 mile radius. We were a bit frightened driving off the highway into mall-ville (there goes an Olive Garden... oh, there's another Starbucks, and a Chuckie Cheese!) and almost drove by the oddly contemporary Mc-Palace that Sublime is housed in. Thankfully, we pulled in and parked our very hungry selves in their lovely, vast dining area. 90 minutes later we were stuffed with some dang good vegetarian grub + dessert! I have to admit, we even went back a couple nights later to sample the dishes we were too full to try on first visit! Anyway, I truly hope these more recent reviews aren't accurate - if so, what a heartbreak!

This is a gourmet vegan restaurant that was hot and hip at first and has slowed down a bit. They have a menu which includes some raw foods, which is REALLY advanced for Ft. Laud. Try the cauliflower appetizer. It's like a better version of flash-fried scallops. This is just a fun place and brings a much-needed concept to South Florida.

We almost walked out on a Wednesday night due to ultra slow and crappy service.  They no longer advertise themselves as "vegan", but they are and there is a limit (with their skills) in how tasty you can make that.  Expensive, a bit pretentious (don't ask for butter, oh no), and bad service.  All for a plate of soy pasta?! No thanks.

What could be more sublime than a fine dining veggie restaurant in my old hood? The food's always spot on, with good flavors and options for everyone. Drinks are tasty, too, and the service friendly and helpful. Sublime is one of the best things about going home (sorry , mom!).
