I use to live just down the beach from this hotel and I miss the area so I stay here when I get a chance. The Restaurant downstairs is the Figtree, which is my favorite for organic fare and handcrafted espresso.

If you're looking for a full suite with everything from a living room with an ocean view to a modern kitchen, this is it.  Also, the beds are so comfortable, I asked about them and was told they were a special ordered high quality anti-allergen something or other. Better than what I have at home, I remember.

I read that some people were confused on how to get to it, but since I lived here I can tell you it's easy.  Drive to the OCEAN off of Rose Avenue and turn left at the last street (Speedway) before you hit SAND. You're at the end of the continent- there's only so many ways you can go without an amphibious vehicle.

Also- I saw some people had concerns about parking- Su Casa uses the same parking lot I used when I lived in Venice. Neither I nor my neighbors had a problem there, and it's got an ocean view too.

If you're planning on staying here, enjoy~ I recommend it to my friends & family when they visit as well. You just can't believe the amazing view you will wake up to.

This place is a little hard to find when you're driving here because you go through this back street and there's no sign from the back of the hotel.  Also, you have to park in another parking lot down the street as this hotel is right on the beach so there's no parking there.  The walk isn't bad though and you get to enjoy Venice Beach.  Also, this hotel is on top of a cafe, which makes it even harder to find.  I will say, Venice beach was a little on ghetto side for me, but inside this hotel, was very nice.  The people working there for great, always willing to help, there's complimentary breakfast, free wifi, and the room was a suite, with a living room, kitchen, bedroom.  Can't beat the view of the beach right out your window!

There's a drug recovery center around the corner from here, but we had no problems, and like I said, Venice Beach is a little ghetto.  Stilled enjoyed my time here!

P.S.  I don't think their walls are very soundproof.

    Under no circumstances stay here.

To begin with we were helpfully quoted a good price on a beach facing room, for which we made a reservation with the general manager. Unfortunately this was, apparently, all lies.

On arriving in the area after a long drive down the coast, we were immediately disappointed by the seedy, sketchy surroundings. The place is inaccessible by car and we were told we would have to call to be told exactly how to get there. On calling I was told that there was no record of the reservation and that there was no way to reach the general manager to clear up the mistake. I then asked for a recommendation for another place to stay, but the receptionist couldn't give me an idea of the rates or vacancies for the place he suggested and refused to find out for me.

Overall an extremely frustrating experience. With customer service like that, they do not deserve customers.

For the price, they do a pretty decent job of making your accommodations look nice. Aside from the alcohol treatment house next door, this place is pretty swank.

From the moment we made the reservation, Roffe was courteous and efficient, welcoming, assisting. We phoned him minutes before arriving, and he was there to greet us, sign in, and show us to the 24-hour parking lot a half block away, complimentary at least for the first visit, during winter months. He briefed us on the area, and is knowledgeable in an engaging manner. The evening staff was also generous and accommodating.

We were given a map, with recommended restaurants nearby. The best was just downstairs at Figtree's Cafe, also owned by Su Casa since four years ago. They kept the same staff and food, perhaps even making it better. The Cafe provides fresh, organic ingredients, with complimentary room service of light breakfast. That offering includes coffee, juice, scones, toast, granola with yogurt and freshly sliced bananas sprinkled with raisins. We added an omelette in the delivery, 50% off from 8-10am for Su Casa guests, otherwise 8-9am. Room service is available up to closing time, usually 6pm. Perfect!

Stepping into our suite, we marveled at the beautiful floors, light, clean furnishings, with goose down duvet on comfortable bed, efficient kitchenette, lovely well supplied spacious bathroom, and two large windows facing a stunning mid-afternoon view of the gorgeous Venice beach. The wide swath of direct beach view, early morning sunrise, late afternoon sunsets, mid-afternoon lighting, all so thrilling and unobstructed.

The living room area has a table and chairs, sofa, easy chair, large coffee table, and a large digital TV with ALL the channels - Ovation, HBO, Showtime, OWN, sports, the works!

What a thoroughly delightful overall experience. We will happily gravitate back here whenever we are in the Los Angeles area. So very uplifting!

my husband and i have been staying here 2-3 weeks every month for the last month and will continue to do so for at least the next 2 months. this is the life!! wake up every day with a beautiful view of the ocean, fall asleep to the lul of the ocean waves. this B&B is directly over my favorite cafe in venice, the figtree and continental breakfast is included. my favorite thing to do is wake up, go downstairs to the cafe for breakfast (they will also bring it to your room for you), bring the paper from the front desk and sit in the sun with my coffee, orange juice, steel coat oatmeal and apricot scone and get the day off right.

we always stay in a studio with ocean view. there are a few different lay outs depending on what you like.  everything in the rooms is totally classy. really nice sheets, great stoves, dishwasher. nice layout. good tv.  the location is totally perfect.  you can sit an look out the window and people watch, watch the ocean. you can walk south on the venice boardwalk or walk borth up to the santa monica pier. they have several cruiser bikes downstairs that you can borrow, plus boogie boards, beach towels.  if i could buy a condo in the same place for what i pay to stay at su casa, i would do it in a heart beat, but sine i can't, i will keep staying at su casa, and loving every day!!

I love this place.. the rooms are well appointed and friendly staff. The only couple of issues is that phone reception SUCKS in the hotel and the parking situation is a nightmare.  However, for the price it's good and it's RIGHT ON THE BEACH!

Unfortunately my girlfriends and I had a very poor experience at Venice Su Casa.  There is an older man named Greg that worked at the desk  and he constantly made inappropriate advances to all of us.  He appears to be older than our dads.  Then there is a prison, in-mate half way house directly next door to the hotel, making us girls feel leered at and unsafe.  This place is so unorganized and really misrepresents online.  The older man was assigned to drive us to the airport and we could not wait to get out of his beat up car while he made sexual advances to us the whole way.

Traveling with kids leads to a whole different set of challenges that most of my non-breeding friends could ever comprehend. The first of which is finding an acceptable and comfortable kid friendly place to stay that won't rob you of all of your hard earned money. Toting along a couple of toddlers, my husband, and our wonderful Au pair also causes us to need an entire wing to ourselves. (I can only imagine how the Brady's did it. No wonder they only went to Hawaii and the Grand Canyon in all those years!!) Forgetting that it was Spring Break week, I stupidly waited until the last min to book a hotel for the fam for a weekend trip to Venice for my friends baby shower. All that was left was Britney Spears expensive, tiny hotel rooms and then I came across this little gem of a place. On the beach, and I mean on the beach, it sits above the Figtree Cafe. We got a 1 bedroom suite and then the studio room next door. The hotel was recently remodeled and when I say this, these folks drove over to Ikea and robbed the place blind. I mean, EVErYTHING is from Ikea, my Swedish Au Pair thought she somehow transported herself home. But hey, as far as I am concerned the stuff is functional and looks great. The rooms were a decent size, a full, well stocked kitchen, free internet, tasty breakfast brought to your room, and plasma tv's with The Dish network. We were set. The price was pretty reasonable too considering what we got. The area, while on the up and up, still is a bit sketchy at night so I wouldn't send the single ladies out a night walking or anything, but it's right smack in the middle of the action  for daytime stuff. They also have free parking in a lot 50 yards away.
