Just off of Solano, this small barber shop/ beauty salon caught my eye. It's a simple down-to-earth hair place unlike the fancy expensive places on Solano. I woke up wanting to hack my hair - I have been debating about it for awhile and so finally did it. Sometimes change is good (particularly after a really bad week).
Both hair stylists were nice and professional. My hair stylist didn't speak English very well but I prefer not having awkward conversation with hair dressers anyway. All of the other patrons were regulars and were remembered - "you want it like last time?". I was very impressed at the one stylist who cut two kids hair without any problem.
I haven't got my hair cut for a really long time. So when I asked for a short do (see pictures), my stylist made sure she knew what I wanted as it was quite a big change. She checked with me throughout and was really thorough. And the cut and blow-dry was a good deal at only $15. They also offered reasonably-priced perms and coloring as well but I was too chicken to take that leap here.
Overall I am pleased with the change.
This review is really for my BF. He gets his hair done here. When it comes to hair, I'm all about aesthetics but hes just looking to save some time.
I think the younger women does a better job. She actually uses scissors instead of just buzzing it all off. She really only cuts as much as you like and takes feed back seriously. A good place for a quick clean cut but I wouldn't go there for a precision cut.
Been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. The wait can be long on weekends, but it is a relaxed place to sit. Seems to be very popular place for parents to take their kids as they are always super patient and careful. Get the really tall woman to do you hair for best results.
