I had to write a review of this place..I was at a few parties here...For starters easy access trains buses LIRR...Venue is clean and decor is nice....2 big rooms, big bar, rooftop smoking area..
The vibes here are so good..and Why is that?
For starters the Owner is so nice and cool,Manager is great and Security are a bunch of great guys..They do their job and do it well without being over bearing like at most clubs...
Love this venue..Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zaneta O.Westbury, NY10297923200Nov 2, 2018
I can't say anything about the food because I visited after dining hours for a night club style event. The place has potential but a few things needs to be worked out. You know what they say when you try to be too many things at once.... you never do any one of them particularly well. They offer a dance studio, a bar, buffet, karaoke, private events, and club events.
They have the sound pretty well contained. You can't hear much on the street. There is also a terrace for smoking so people aren't hanging out in front of the venue. This avoids attracting unwanted attention and gives it somewhat of a hidden feel. The venue is also pretty spacious offering several rooms of entertainment which can be broken up into multiple events or showcase different styles of music. There is more than one bar which is also convenient. There's plenty of seating due to this being a restaurant by day, but they do clear many of the tables to create a dance floor space by night. The booths on the outskirts remain as well as some stools in the bar areas.
The sound bleeds from room to room if you're hanging out near the doors. They patrons typically don't close the doors behind them, but I can see why the venue would need to keep them for the other events they host. The first room and the last room seemed to have the least air conditioning. The middle room was the most comfortable of them all which I believe is the room they use for the dance studio due to all the mirrors on the walls. Unfortunately the sound in this room was much too loud for the space and it gave me tinnitus so I couldn't spend much time here. The first room as you walk in had so many people dancing in it I felt the floor shift under my feet.
The security guards are great, very helpful and nice. They weren't on a power trip or giving people a hard time like others I've encountered in my years of nightlife. The drink prices are a bit off that wall, or I may have been swindled by a bartender. In smallest room at the end, I ordered a Stella. I gave the guy a $20 bill and I got back $8 change. $12 for a Stella is pretty excessive, even for the city...which this isn't. Reality check... this is QUEENS!! I later mentioned this to someone and they told me the beers were supposed to be $8 so unless he mistakenly reversed those numbers in his head, he pocketed my extra cash. Either way not cool. The bathroom attendant was an absolute joke. She basically stood there observing people pee while chatting on her cell phone the entire time. She didn't have anything with her either, no gum, perfume, or other toiletries or anything else. She wasn't passing you a hand towel either as you washed your hands so I hope she wasn't expecting any tip for this. In fact the entire sink area was soaked and no one was concerned with wiping it down. If you leaned in to wash your hands your shirt likely absorbed some of the water.
The vibe was not terrible but it's definitely a younger crowd. It had a more rave-like kind of vibe to it. It was around the time of Halloween as well so many came dressed in costumes. At least they showed some spirit and seemed to be dancing and having a good time.
Another plus, Main Street actually has some free street parking late at night since all of the shops are closed. Just be sure to double check the street signs before you park.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Evan D.Brooklyn, NY02Dec 31, 2019
Absolutely outrageous. After placing an admittedly late-night order I waited over an hour before this establishment elected to cancel my order. I appreciate that placing an order late in the evening is subject to happenstance but to wait over an hour before canceling for their own convenience left me with no open options to order a meal. I took a chance on Studio M and it was absolutely a mistake. Terrible.

This place has changed to " Chinese seafood all you can eat". I don't recommend anyone to eat here at all. The seafood was not fresh and not too clean too. The environment of the restaurant was kind of dirty. Stone crab, blue crab, clam and shrimp were not fresh, all been dead for long time. Some of the seafood was not fully cooked, once have a bite you can tell. Yes offer bake half cheese lobster free. The worst part giving you stomachache. Oh yeah the food looks good but NOT your tummy. Good luck guys, if you want to take the risk.

If I could give them a NEGATIVE ONE, I would. They don't even deserve a one star. & here's why
I came here for the first time with my homegirls on a Friday night because I heard they have beer pong tables, board games etc. Wide open place to dance around. But this night was ruin and was a total disaster! There's a Spanish short old guy around his 40, who started recording me and friends.. she had a dress on. We caught him taking pictures and videos of us while we were playing beer pong. Asked him politely to delete them & he refused to.. so we took his phone and came to the conclusion that he's been recording ever since we arrived. HE TOOK 8 videos!! 8!! He's deviant and a PERVERT!!!! Im highly upset & disturb.. it was suppose to be happy comfortable environment no women should ever deserve to be recorded under any circumstances without being acknowledge.. weather if you're a man or women and we are in a public environment people record everyday; yes I understand that but when it comes down to harassment, it needs to be resolve! He's old enough to be a father figure, you should know your right from wrong. I approach him and demand him to leave. People saw what was going on and this one guy said "he comes here frequently by himself and he weird everybody out" WOW I'm not surprise. There goes your proof. This guy should be BANNED. The employee should do a better job and keep track of what's going on. THEY DIDNT DOOOOO ANYTHINGGGGG WHATSOEVER
We were getting ready to leave & I told the bartenders (guy with glasses & a Asain girl) what had happened and they weren't even apologetic towards the whole situation. They had no sympathy no emotion no concern, his face was meaningless. More like a "oh cool story bro" they did not give a damn and that's why I give them a -1 star. I'm so disappointed & I feel harassed. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SUPERVISED 24/7, and hire a fu***** security. AND IM ADDRESSING THIS TO ALL THE LADIES, WATCH YOUR BACK. I don't want anyone to go through what we accounter.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tony C.New York, NY103294666Feb 8, 2015First to Review
Flushing's one and only KTV/Bar/Dance Studio hybrid formerly known as Place at Main is now Studio M. I love the new interior as its much more spacious and lit up compared to the dark and cramped Place at Main. There are much more couches and a new wooden floor. However its so new that it seems renovation is not even done yet as there are still blueprints stuck on the wall and the door to our KTV room was falling apart.
We booked a large/vip room for a party of nearly 20 at $100/hr on a Saturday night. The room had a nice modern look to it with couches at every corner. Also there were 2 televisions showing the KTV videos as well.
The song database and mic system are outdated. They use the wall-attached tablet format like any other Flushing karaoke joint but I would say their songs are older than Monster's. Popular songs ranging from 1-2 years old are missing from both Chinese and English categories. Also they still use the stone-age method of wired microphones so get ready for some tripping over from your tipsy friends.
Although their ktv needs some improvement, like it predecessor, their business comes from the bar and its too early to give a set verdict as Studio M just started running. I did like the public beer/water pong tables set up in the main lounge for people to play with.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jack H.Flushing, NY5255447Oct 8, 2018

It used to be called Place at Main, most of it looks the same except walking in the bar is pushed really close to the wall. But they are very nice and accommodating. I was able to get the VIP for my friends and I with two bottles of Hennessy for about 2+ hours and bring in a beer pong table for about $30 a person. Good deal to me!

At the courtesy of the MANAGER MARY, she encourages you to pick up these instructors and feel them for FREE! It's comes with the benefits of taking these classes. Does that mean dancers have other GREAT obligations! 5 year dancer
