I was in Indianapolis for a wedding and needed a haircut badly. I called Salon 2000 on Friday morning and was able to set up an appointment for that afternoon. Awesome!
Everyone was extremely friendly and I was in and out in an hour after one of the best haircuts I've ever had. $40 for an amazing haircut? I wish I could fly back and afford it every 6-8 weeks.
I went to Studio 2000 when we lived downtown and I worked in the building. I always had turnover in my stylist and I'd have to trim up long pieces after cuts. It was decent enough, but for the prices they charge it wasn't worth it.
They are awesome though for updos and bridal parties, I just wasn't jazzed for my regular cuts.

I've only been to Studio 2000 once, because someone gave me a gift certificate. I had some type of body wrap done to help my skin glow right before I was in a wedding. I was very pleased with the experience overall -- the atmosphere is great and the aesthetician was friendly and made me feel comfortable and relaxed... which is good since there I was, stark naked and having a complete stranger coat my body with goo for a good 45 minutes or so!
I would definitely return to Studio 2000 for their spa services; the only reason I haven't is because I haven't had the extra cash for those luxuries lately!

The building and interior are top notch. Very put together and professional looking...with an art deco theme its also pretty unique. Plus the view of the circle was pretty much the best. I got to people watch while I was getting my hair snipped. Always fun.
The guy who did my hair was really fun and easy going. The scalp massage was fab and the cut was quick and timely.
But the reason I only rate it okay is because of the haircut itself. I came in after getting a cut I didn't really like. All I needed done was some texturizing and correction of my bangs. However, the consultation was too quick and he only looked at the pictures I brought in maybe once...or twice. The texturizing come out lovely. My hair is now piecy and messy like I wanted it...and the bangs are much much much better.
But really guys? My cut is longer on one side than it is the other. This I would say is a pretty basic no no. I knew that was going to happen after I saw he wasn't checking the evenness of length. And its pretty noticeable even to the naked eye. Maybe he did this on purpose? Either way, I didn't ask or want a asymmetrical cut. Also, he cut off too much length in the ears without even asking if that was what I wanted to do. I wanted a slight a-line and after straightening it...it kind of just looks uneven near the ears now.
More: The blow dry and style was hurried. My hair was still damp when I was leaving the salon. Maybe it wasn't included in a hair cut and he was just getting it sort of dry for me? I am not sure. But it also should have been straightened with pomade for sure. I feel like I shouldn't have to go home and style my hair after leaving a salon. Right?
Summary: My hair looks a lot better but is missing key elements. Blow dry and style were wack. I really hate to complain so much about my hair because the guy was really a sweetheart and was superb at texturizing with that razor.....but I have pretty high standards for a $55 haircut.
Look elsewhere ladies....my 30 dollar haircut it my hometown was much better.
I found out about Studio 2000 in late summer 2007 in the midst of some trial run hair trauma I was experiencing for my October 2007 wedding. My wedding planner knew I wasn't happy with my hair the way it had been done (3 times!) by the folks I had on board to do everyone's hair for the wedding, so she went searching to find a new place.
My wedding planner (the best woman EVER, by the way - Lisa Gorman, Memory Makers Indy) came to me and said that Mel Brandenburg from Studio 2000 was the "updo master". I went in for a trial run and I was SOLD. I have long, thick, unwieldy hair and he made it do things I've never seen it do, EVER.
I came in for a brow waxing the week before my wedding and was very happy with Brita Swanson, who did my brow wax. I also brought my girls here for manicures and pedicures the day before the wedding - we were able to bring our own snacks and champagne in while we were having services done, so that was a plus! Tiffany did my nails and pedicure and I was really happy with how they turned out (plus they lasted almost a week without chipping!)
I am planning to come back to Studio 2000 for my future haircuts and pampering. They are conveniently located on the Circle above Starbucks. That's a quick walk from my office so I am sure I can get appointments conveniently scheduled in late afternoon. They also have evening appointments.
I have worked downtown for several years and didn't know this salon/spa was here. They have a great location and their staff are professional and fantastic.
Street parking is tough but you can also valet at the Columbia Club and they'll add the cost to your bill.
OK, I have to be honest on this Salon. The Decor and the establishment have got it going for them. You get your hair done and your looking out the art decor windows to the Monument Circle. But, can you afford the high price of living at this Salon. I do kindly remember we're in a recession!!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT NOW!!! Well, needless to say I've been here before and had my hair done. It was done to my satisfaction. But although the bill was already over a $100.00 they wanted to sell me every product in the book from they're counter!! Yeah, sure I'll take one of each. $200.00 later I am signing the Visa Bill and they ask would you like to donate to a cause. Well my first cause was why are you trying to rip me off??? So, months go bye and I think thats okay I'll just start saying no to any extra products. I made an appt. to get my hair highlighted with foil highlights. Of course were going to pick out the most expensive technician that charges $95.00 and then of course add the shampoo and style for another $30.00. So I got $115.00 just in that alone. I had to cancel because I was called into work that day and gave them a 2 hour notice. As I recall they say they told me on the phone they have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy.!!! CRAP!!!! Yeah go suck a big one. They charge my credit card for the full amount of $115.00 and the woman never told me on the phone about the 24 hour cancellation policy. Well, either way if its my mistake or not!!!!!!!!! THATS AN OUTRAGE! You don't even get charged that for going to the doctor to find out if you have CANCER!!! Come on I mean lets rip and pilgrimvage the clients so we can stay in business. I hope you guys burn out really fast. Because everyone I know will be not going to your shop any longer. You need to visit JACK'S BARBERSHOP!!!! Better bang for your realistic hair price. Studio 2000 overrated NY wannabe's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
