Straub Auto Repairs

I can't say enough great things about Straub. They are super busy but still try to squeeze you in if they can. Their work is always terrific and they are honest about what you do and don't need. 5 stars for Harry, Eddie and the whole crew!

I've been a Straub customer for years. And they have taken care of many of my cars from crazy imports to regular old daily beaters. They are always dependable, fair and friendly. Whether I make an appointment or I have an emergency, their garage door is always open. When deciding where to go to get the job done, my first choice is always Straub. Thanks to the Straub bros and team for making automotive annoyances bearable!!

Straub is a local place whose advantage is that it's close to the Metro North train, so you can theoretically leave your car there in the morning and pick it up some evening, if the timing works out. It's family owned, for those who care about that, and the owner/boss does get his hands dirty under the hood most days.

On the actual mechanics working there, I'm not too enthused. They're OK for basic work -- oil changes, etc. -- and they can sometimes be cheaper than dealers for cars out of warranty. But I've had a bad experience with an expensive repair that had to be re-done by the dealer, so trying to save money here can backfire. Not crazy about the skill level of the average mechanic here.

Once again, my go to guys. Got a flat tire. AAA came and put on the spare. Went straight to Straub. Within 1/2 hour the old tire was fixed, on the car, and the spare back in the trunk. I don't know what I would do without them. Got to meet and talk with Harry's father.

Once you've had Harry, you'll never have anyone else! Straight shooter. Even told me once : get a new car- this one is toast. And then helped me choose a better one. They're the best!

The scheduling is efficient and easy. The service is always prompt and professional and the work is without reproach. What else do you want at an auto service facility? Harry is great to deal with, as is all of the staff. Definitely a five star operation!

Expert auto repair and advice, honest, courteous, friendly and accomodating service -- all at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

My family and friends have been going to Straub for over 12 years, and have always found them to be honest, competent, and courteous. As am someone who maintains two cars from the early nineties, I am familiar with cars and often fix things on them myself. When I do bring them into a shop I often know the fix needed already. Straub has always been completely honest about what my car needed, and the prices are very fair - I have never once felt like something was milked for extra labor time or gouged for something my car did not need.

Another huge plus is it is easy to arrange drop off and pick up if you are commuting into NYC, as the garage is right near the train station.

Can not say enough about these guys, it is hard to find an honest, competent, reliable garage these days - and this is it.
