It wasn't my idea to go here, and I wasn't expecting it to be great, but all in all I liked it. Our Greek buddy - it was HIS idea - he liked it, too.

Due in part to the area of town, we figured this place to be a bit scary. Our first impression was reinforced when a super-sized version of Axel Rose walked in ahead of us. Further scares: the waiter's cologne preceeded him to our table, and the multiple mondo vid screens leave one to only imagine what happens later in the evening. We were there on a weeknight for dinner.

All around, we thought the food was quite good. We had the Greek combo appetizer, Chicken Souvalki, gyros, and Mom's Moussaka. On top of good Greek food, throw in the fact that they make really good and reasonably priced drinks, and they have half priced meals on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Someone else will have to rate the shows and club scene, but I'll give the price/quality of the food a solid 3 stars.

I won't go back, simply put.

The tilapia was very good, and the price was just about right.

Mondays and Tuesdays, the offer 1/2 off meals, with the purchase of a drink.

However, asking $11 for gyro? You gotta be kidding me... it was average, nothing special... at all...

The "house" margarita for $4 was not great, tasted like the $1 ones at Pappasitos....

They charged $6 for a VIRGIN daqurey....  and.. it tasted like watered down juice and syrup with lots of whipped cream...

The salad was BAD.... no joke. It was "suppose" to be a greek salad (and believe you me... i've had many a greek salads). It was regular chopped salad, some feta cheese... and cheap salad dressing... for $7?? Should have been FREE...

Look at my past reviews, I LOVE great restaurants.... but I hate spending $40 on a meal...  and be dissappointed. Especially with greek food....  next time.. I'll go to the MALL to have some gyros...

By the way.... offering 1/2 off... and charging $$$$... does not make it always a great "deal". ....

I have an entertainment card for buy one get one free and I WONT be using it.

Service: C+ ( i mentioned the bad salad and i got a shrug)
Food:     C-  ( tilapia was good, gyro was.. okay)
Drinks:  C- ( next time, I'll take water.... )

I don't know what Carlos C. is talking about...

As far as good Greek food in Dallas, Stratos holds the torch. It's just too bad they're not closer! In fact, they're kinda out-of-the-way for most people, I've found, but well worth the drive. They're located on Northwest Highway, near Bachman Lake. I've been dining there for years, I was first introduced to the place when I worked in Irving. It's my favorite place for Greek food & happy hour.  They also have free wi-fi so it's common to see laptops & business meetings there. The owner Nick is very hands-on, he's usually there when I visit, otherwise at least one of his family members is. They obviously have a lot of pride in the restaurant, they're always welcoming & recognize their regulars. Most of the servers have been with them a while, too. They've been around since 2001 & being able to make it in that neighborhood, which is off the beaten path, they're obviously doing good business for a reason! My favorite feature at Stratos is the video shots of Greece that play throughout the restaurant on large projector screens. It's so beautiful to see & makes most who watch it yearn to travel to Greece. I always enjoy dining at Stratos, it's a great place to go casually or for a formal meal. I can't say that about most places, at Stratos the atmosphere is condusive to both: granite-top lounge tables for large parties, booths for smaller ones, & an incredible covered patio w/ TVs. The food is incredible, you can tell it's made there and not pre-packaged and frozen, which is what I've found at most Greek places. Howard Stern says they have the "Best Gyro in Dallas" & everyone I've taken there for one agrees. The tzatziki sauce is to die for! Nick says they make everything from scratch each morning. They offer generous portions, and specials regularly to keep the patrons coming back. I just wanted to put in a good word for the place, it's one of my favorite spots in Dallas.

Good food - atmosphere... changeable.  Good basic greek food with usually good service.  Great service at lunch, but on Friday or Saturday nights the staff includes some not so great servers too.  Entertainment in evening is often bellydancers, which can be good.  But if you are wanting a quiet dinner and to be let in peace, that may be difficult.  On those visits, ask for the back booths away from the dance floor.

I came here for lunch on a weekday and was skeptical at first.  After checking out their website, they seemed to be a trendy, yuppie, overpriced place.  Their lunch specials were in fact pretty decently priced and the food was tasty.  I'm not sure how "authentic" they are since my gyro plate came with fries...but they were tasty and seasoned, fried to a golden crisp.  Service was good.  I'll definitely keep this on my list of restaurants to go back to.
