I'm the biggest Strangeland Records fan! Why?
1) They carry an impressive selection of hard-to-find goth, industrial, techno, punk, and metal - at reasonable prices, to boot.
2) Ryan, the owner, is super knowledgeable about all things music. He will also bend over backwards to order albums for you. Plus he's just a darn nice guy.
3) Free DJ and band performances. With BBQing on the patio.
4) You can listen to everything before you buy it.
5) They vend at various local events.
6) Great website that keeps getting better.

Review from Gayle G.

Who says indie music stores are dead? Now that Tower is going out of business and I have one less place to pick up CDs, Strange Land will be my place for my metal, punk, industrial and electronic music needs (not that Tower was very strong in those categories). Oh, and they have vinyl too. Sweet!
Strangeland just opened in September and already have FREE in store performances lined up for almost every week through January. They are working out the kinks on their website as far as online ordering. The guys who work here are super nice, helpful and know their stuff.
They are also developing a gallery for local artists (anything from photos to sculptors) as far as providing a place to hang it and therefore sell it an admirer for a small fee.Listed in: High Fidelity, DC Style
