I got my ears gauged here, and they are the only people I trust when I buy jewelry and increase my gauge.

The staff is amazing and knowledgeable and care more about answering your questions than making a sale. The conditions are always clean and the greatest of safety precautions are taken to ensure a safe and clean piercing experience.

When it comes to putting holes in your body, you get what you pay for; pay the small premium and know that you're in good hands.

Super clean, super professional, super friendly. Simply put, the safest place to get pierced in Portland.

I've had my ears gauged here, and my navel pierced.

The only complaint I have is that the music is usually country or some other bull, but apparently the staff isn't too happy about that either and it's set to that station so people don't get intimidated.

Today I got a medusa labret from Nick and I love it! It is so cute and didn't really hurt! He was very professional and didn't act like the typical tattoo/piercer (the usual douche baggy ones). The studio was quite clean and he changed his gloves whenever he had to leave the room or touch an unsterilized object. My medusa was 61$ and I consider that a very good price for the service. You don't get any cleaner, but you get a pamphlet that tells you how to take care of the piercing. I would definitely come back and cannot wait to get more piercings.

If you are considering adding unnatural holes to ANY part of your body - this is the only piercing parlor you should consider.

The level of professionalism is incredible, from the cleanliness, product knowledge and care for their customers.

The wide array of various jewelry is amazing, too. Beautiful and original pieces to stick is various body appendages.

I have always contemplated getting a piercing, but the morning of the day that I punctured my earlobes, I had no idea what was in store for me.

A group of friends and I stopped in because of of my friends wanted her septum pierced. The piercing was very honest with her, and explained that she had a crooked septum, so her piercing was probably not going to look like she would expect it too. She appreciated his honesty and decided to think about it (and I am amazed that he was willing to put her happiness over making a buck).

Inspired by the artwork behind the glass, and encouraged by my friends, I decided to get my first piercing, getting my ears gauged. I went from solid lobes to a six gauge, and was super SUPER happy with the experience. I've been back twice, for more jewelry and to get my ears gauged up to a two gauge.

I was super happy with my experience with Emily. She was charming and engaging, and i had a lot of fun working with her. The entire staff is top notch. I'm a big fan of STTP and will not go any where else for any future piercings.

Hallelujah.

This is what a piercer is supposed to be like.

From the very first moment I stepped inside I knew that I had come home to my very own piercing heaven. The gorgeous decor of the building (conveniently sandwiched between Silverado's and the 18+ strip club) served only to perfectly accentuate the cases upon cases of some of the most beautiful jewelry I've ever seen. Tapers made out of turquoise with small fans on half of them, bone-inlaid large-gauge plugs, bone, wood, quartz. They even have a layaway plan (and yes, that should give you an indication of how much some of these babies will run you -- a lot more than I'm comfortable wearing in my ears.)

I filled out my paperwork and was then introduced to my glorious piercer - Nick. Considering the nature of my piercing I was a little unnerved and probably appeared to be vibrating with anxiety. Nick promised to make the experience as devoid of awkwardness as possible (which I doubted the feasibility of), and he managed to do exactly that - via conversations surrounding the corrupt mayors of the cities we come from (Washington, DC and Chicago, IL!)

The entire experience was almost painless (physically and mentally) and Nick's aftercare instructions were complete and clear. I found myself making future piercing plans with him including a potential set of dermals. Now you *know* I like this guy since I wouldn't let just anyone anchor jewelry into my skin.

Then again, I wouldn't let just anyone put a needle where he did.

Can I get a witness? (No. Not really.)

I came here to look for new earrings. They had quite a variety and quickly found a few pairs that I really liked. There was one pair that they had in a size 4g but I wanted it in a size 0g so they called the other stores, but neither had and he said he would order it. But. I would have to pay the full price up front ($100) and they wouldn't know when it would come in (weeks to months). So i just decided to go with my second choice of a 0g, which I'm wearing now and love.

I was used to wearing acrylic because I could never find anything I was willing to spend money on until my brother brought me to this shop. So these were very heavy and I was afraid they'd pull down on my ears and stretch them out even more, but my ears have adapted to them and I'm used to the heaviness.

Though, because of the high prices, I'll stick with the pair I bought. (I like variety, but I also like staying out of debt)

I have nothing but stellar reviews and opinions of STTP. I've been a returning customer since 2001, my first piercing was for my tongue. I followed all of the instructions and had absolutely no problems. Years later, I returned for an industrial ear piercing. Both tongue & industrial were performed by Alec at the time. And then I met the extrordinary Nick K. and, well, what can I say. My heart has been with this establishment since then and I don't trust anyone to poke me the way I like as I do with Nick (just the piercing, although this is a GREAT pun)

For the novice to the advanced devotee of piercings STTP is an across the board, hands down establishment. The place is SPOTLESS, legal certificates posted show that they are safe and legal, and they are popular. Every time I've gone in for either a lobe stretch or new jewlery (which if they don't have what you want on hand, they will call the other STTP, not sure where it is, to make sure what you want can be ordered and delivered). If you don't know what to expect from getting a piercing, the crew at STTP won't steer you wrong, and are uber helpful!

At age 26, I am probably the oldest teeny bopper with a belly button piercing--okay okay, a navel piercing, whatever...I don't know what devil possessed me one day sitting at my desk at work, I decided that I wanted to get my belly pierced. I guess it's cause I figured I'm not going to be young forever (even though I pretty much stopped wearing tummyshirts in 1992) and I can't get away with this type of thing forever, so I might as well do it now. So, I walked down there on my lunch break and signed a form, presented my ID (yeah, they even looked at me like, what? why didn't you do this with all your  high school girlfriends in 2001?) and then some cute boys layed me down on the piercing table and a quick pinch later, I had this rad bejeweled barbell dangling from my bellybutton. Sparkly!  Professional, clean, great experience!

I got my septum pierced here several months ago and it was a great experience. It was the first time I've ever been to a piercing shop where the employees weren't completely pretentious. Everyone was very friendly and down to earth. I really appreciated that. My piercer explained everything as he went and made sure that I was ready and comfortable. Great place.

It's always nice to know that the guy or gal who's going to be sticking a big piece of metal into your face is good at what they do. That's what I like about straight to the point. The guy who gauged my ears up was very confident and knowledgeable about the process, and was generally just a nice guy who was easy to talk to.

The place is CLEAN, especially the piercing room. The guy told me that they do things a little differently at STTP which I could see was true, as he seemed more educated about the process and very careful compared to other places I've been. One place refused to gauge my ears up, claiming that I needed more time to stretch them. Just a very short time after this, I came to STTP where he agreed to gauge up two sizes. The first taper went straight through my ear without me feeling anything. Essentially my ears were already at this size even though I had pierced them one gauge smaller. It made me pissed at the previous place, which seemed not to know what they were talking about. The stretching went perfectly and since then the piercings have been in perfect order.

The stretching came free with the jewelery. At the time of my visit, the jewelery with which to stretch my ears was a bit limited, but I loved what I decided on, and the other types of jewelery (wood, acrylic, etc.) were very plentiful and very cool. 5 STARS Ohhhhh yeahhhhh.

STTP is fantastic.

Nick is an ear-God - check out his book of custom work. Amazing stuff. Plus they are doing these really cool new surface piercings that are SICK - love them!!

He will take a peek at the unique shape of your ears and reccomend the correct piercing for you... I went in wanting an industrial - but alas, as it's "all about angles" that would not be easy for me to heal.  Instead of just selling me something that might not be perfect for me... he reccomended an orbital instead. I also got some fantasic saline spray for aftercare.

Three cheers for Nick - I've been fearing the crunch of the cartilage (though i'd had other work done at Black Hole - for some reason cartilage was worrying me) and he did a fantasic job preparing me and making sure it was less painful than I'm sure it could have been.

I heart you, STTP - and you too, Nick!

This place is cleaner than your doctor's office. They do the best job! Emily is really nice and cool and gentle with whatever you've entrusted her to needle. I have had 6 piercings and multiple tapers from STTP and I am very happy with all of them.

I dig this place quite a bit. I haven't been pierced here, proper BUT... I went in not too long ago to see what septum jewelry would fit in my nose these days. Backstory: had my septum pierced a few years ago in a different state. it was pierced at a 6 i believe... not a good idea. I stretched it down to a zero and then...dunt dunt dunt...I realized it was completely crooked and awful. Fast forward to STTP: I went in. They were honest. I have a crappy piercing. I "could" put decent sized jewelry in, but they recommended not to. I put in a tiny ring so my total damaged piercing wouldn't look SO bad. It was clean. It was cheap. They were honest. They seemed to give a shit. I liked that. Most places aren't any of the aforementioned. I'll be back, though my piercing days are pretty much...over.  At the least, they salvaged my damaged nosey. They hooked me up with some stuff and I'm on the way to closing it up permanently (hopefully!) to be re-pierced. I would recommend this place over any others here. And yes, it is WAY cleaner than any doctor's office. Check it out if you're in the market for a hole in your body. I dig it. Plus, as I've come to realize over the years...small ladies with delicate features need not have a giant zero gauge bull ring in their noses... though, I judge not those that do. I just can't stand them in the winter... tally ho!
