I have been to Stover Bros Cafe a couple times already. I liked that their menu offers interesting options for sliders, so I went to try several of them (at different times).

Spicy chicken salad: was not the classic chicken salad that I am used to and really enjoy (cranberry, almond, chicken, mayo, celery). It was a slightly spicy mayo sauce covering the chicken, and did not much else (it may have had raisins or cranberries, but I don't remember too well). I asked for lettuce and tomato on this. This slider was not bad, persay, but not what I was looking for. A pass.

Tuna salad: classic tuna salad. They give you a LOT, like a whole ice cream scoop's worth on the tiny slider bun. Was simple tuna salad. Good, simple.

Meatloaf cheddar: probably my favorite of the sliders. Melty cheesy goodness over a tasty, tangy, sweet, savory meatloaf. Again, the filling's are generous. Grilled onions were good too.

Dr Pepper Pulled Pork: my BF said it was oddly sweet

Southern Comfort: good, but lacking something so not my favorite

Cranberry turkey: same as above, but a bit better

All the sliders come on this really good onion slider bun. I really like this bread.

Peach cobbler shake: I was disappointed. I was expecting a lot more peach flavor, but it tasted only like vanilla bean. Vanilla bean flavor is good, but i bought it for the peach flavor not the vanilla. They use Blue Bell ice cream and peach sauce or syrup or something, not real peaches :-( . If you check in on Yelp, you get half off, so it's only $2 afterward. Not a total loss...

Broccoli salad: kid's side of broccoli side was quite a good amount. I like the plump golden raisins, the bacon, and the crisp small bites of broccoli. Good sauce too.

Pot roast sandwich: BF had this. Super messy but tasty.

      Service is often slow...

Having arrived in the BCS area just a few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I (both veg) have been fiending for some veggie burgers -- And I don't mean a lukewarm Gardenburger patty that has been sitting in the back of the freezer for a year. I'm talking quinoa, black beans, rice, good seasonings all smooshed together into a patty that morning.

This is a hard town to be vegetarian in, no doubt. But Stover Bros has some great options! We shop at the Village Foods regularly, and had looked over the menu a couple times previously. Tonite we went in search of the famed Hatch Black Bean Burger. After discussing (and sympathizing) with the chef about the challenges of making "Good Veggie Options", we were informed that the Black Bean Burger was no longer on the menu! However, in its stead was a delicious portobello option with all the same toppings -- (amazing) grilled onions, hatch green chile, pepper jack, all on a delicious bun. Not the burger we were looking for, but a darn good alternative! The chef said that he had smoked the mushrooms just that morning and we were the first to try the new sandwich, and seemed genuinely concerned as to our opinion, which was two thumbs up as we stuffed our faces.

The shakes are also noteworty -- probably the biggest shake you'll get for the price, with great flavor options (I had chocolate cinnamon). We also got the Eternal Spring side salad, which was pretty standard fare (the Candied Ginger Pineapple Vinaigrette is great though).

The downside to Stover Bros, of course, is the fact that you are eating between the soda aisle and the dairy section. But ambience aside, it's great! We'll be back for sure.

Stover Bros burgers are pretty good. Extremely filling, with just the right amount of gloppiness. They're wetter than say Grub's burgers, and it doesn't have Grub's huge list of variations. Stover Bros are basically just straight-forward burgers, nothing extraneous. Though the Brunch burger (with it's egg on top) is rather good. If they would add the option for tasty whole wheat buns I'd probably give them five stars.

Fries aren't bad...they make steak fries, a style that I'll never believe are all they're cut up to be, but the Comino fries have a tasty spicy coating and a good dipping sauce. The sweet potato fries are also pretty good, but I always ask for no seasoning because I don't need the sugar on top.

Shakes are ok, but not the strong point...the one I tried was a bit chemical-tasting.

They also have blue plate specials, but I've always wanted a burger instead.

Service has been uniformly excellent. The only problem is when there's no one there or they're hit with a large party and just don't have time to do everything. But they'll do special orders, they'll answer any questions, and they'll fix any problems without complaint.

So, if I'm just looking for burgers for myself I go here over Koppe...but I'd probably go to Grub over Stover Bros unless I was also interested in doing a bit of grocery shopping at the same time.

I loved this burger. This is easily the best burger I've tried in BCS. I don't feel the need to be more thorough as others have already done this. Just look at the pictures. Or better yet, go order yourself a bacon double cheeseburger.

Probably the best burger I have ever had. Hand formed patties, thick sliced, freshly cooked bacon, thick sliced deli style pickles, a nice thick slide of cheddar, soft jalapeño cheddar buns and a unique sauce. So amazing.

Tip: I have found that the girl with the blue hair makes the best burger.

Tried the ribs today and they were pretty good. They were so tender I was pulling the meat apart with a fork. The dr pepper glaze was excellent. Also had the jalapeño Mac and cheese. It wasn't hot like I expected. Which is a little disappointing since I like spicy food. But on the plus side it was baked with a nice cheese crust on top and not boiled like other places serve

Glad to see Stover Boys re-incarnated as Stover Bros Cafe. It's in the Village Foods grocery store and they do pretty good business in there. They still have the awesome burgers and have expanded the menu to include other salads, sandwiches and daily specials like meatloaf, chicken & dumplings, etc.

The cafe is towards the middle in the back of the store. There is plenty of seating.

I tried their meatloaf with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. It was excellent. BTW., the portions are huge. Probably enough for two people.

My son had the kid's hamburger meal and enjoyed his meal. I had a bit of his burger and it is basically a slider. The bread is a little sweet but still very good.

I am going to be going back often for their specials :-)

Support local chefs that care enough to make good real food. Doesn't hurt when it tastes as good as this!

We tried this thanks to the reviews on Yelp. It's a cafe inside our local grocery store. We were a little wary at first. My wife and I got salads. They were great. I know what you're thinking: "Salads at a cafe that is inside a grocery store? Crazy." They were among the best salads we have had.

I had the Texican. They were made fresh right after we ordered them. The staff accommodated all our customizations, and they were really nice. The lettuce was fresh without any wilted bits. It was a great mix of romaine and other greens. The chicken was tasty without being too spicy. The pico was fresh and crisp.

      We will be back soon.

Vegetarianism in BCS can be a sad, lonely, and hungry endeavor. But Stover Bros. takes the sting out with well-crafted, totally delicious options. And the best milkshakes in the history of the world.
