The Stoughton Sports Center is right on Route 138 in Stoughton.  It's a smaller bowling alley which has definately seen better days.  The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars right now, is because it was recently purchased by the same people who own and operate the Needham Bowlaway, and they know how to do things right!

The Sports Center opened back in 1938, and was originally a truck garage!  It was sold in November of 2007, and hopefully will have much better days ahead of it.

Modernization is underway as we speak!  It has 10 lanes of Candlepin Bowling on one level.  It has free parking adjacent to the building, and more in the neighboring bank after hours.

The Sports Center has a Glow bowling package which is being updated along with the rest of the place.  The sound system is decent, and the light show is pretty good.  They are the first place (to the Guru's knowledge) to project a moving colored oil lamp image (think Austin Powers) on the wall above the pins!  Okay, some of the other aspects of the place are a little rough around the edges, but the place is clean, and the Guru expects that this place will be at least as cool as the Needham Bowlaway in a short time!

The Stoughton Sports Center is a "Family Friendly" place, but don't let that scare you away!  The place is fun for ALL ages - even those as old as the Guru!

It can be a tough house to get big scores in.

They do not have a game room (yet), or pool tables.

They *DO* have bumper bowling for children.

They *DO* offer "Glow" or "Cosmic" bowling.

They use paper scoring for the public.

Stoughton Sports Center is "smoke-free"
