Nice menu. Great casual dining experience. Above average eats.

Charming-ish from the outside. They had all their fall decorations out. It was cute. Coming in with this whole cabin-feel was nice... but it looks a lot smaller once you're inside. The main room was full -- I did notice that all the tables and seats were HUGE. Definitely meant for a group/family, so it seemed strange to see just two people sitting in a booth that looked like it could fit 6-8. (Maybe they just assume all Midwesterners are large...)
We were seated on the porch. Just our little group of 6. It was a nice inclosed area. However, it was easy to feel like we were forgotten at times. Plus, our waitress REALLY hated that we asked to split the check. We're all coworkers, we don't want to cover for EVERYBODY. Shouldn't be a big deal -- especially not for lunch.
Everyone's food looked amazing. I think I'm going to try the over-stuffed potatoes next time... (It looked like it could have been 3 full potatoes in that dish.) The popcorn chicken looked great too... But I loved mine... I got the Stoney Burger. The meat wasn't anything to write home about... but top it with bacon, pepper jack and bbq sauce... yeah. That was amazing. Waffle cut fries -- perfectly fried.... Just writing about it makes me crave it.
Despite the service being a little grouchy and the food very slow... I'd still want to come back. I might call ahead for my order (apparently that's possible)... but I'll be back for another large helping of food-coma inducing foods. -

One of those places that looks great from the outside and you go in thinking you will have a great time and I always come away thinking, "why did we come here again?"
The service can be iffy at times due to attitude, how busy it is, and if you are seated upstairs ( which is the worst).
The food is priced higher and takes longer to get than for what you get, which is basically bar food. Its good but not great.
While they have about 10 beers on tap they all taste the same, which does not inspire me to go back. -

Bad food, horrible service. Nice looking place, seems very homey. Too bad it's a raging suck-fest for dining.

My favorite pizza in the extreme north IL and south WI area. The place has great decor but I have only ordered takeout from them. I plan to go out to eat there sometime soon.

good option to visit when I am up visiting my family. Variety of choices. The place is comfy for family or a night out.

Cute little cabin with an open interior, yet warm fireplace feel. Their staff can be quite moody and stuck up. I'm still not sure quite why, especially based upon its location (between Zion and Winthrop Harbor, hmm...) But their pizzas are crispy and yummy, coming straight from the fired-up oven. Or if you prefer a burger, they have a good amount of choices. Even though this place is large in size, you may have to call early to see if there's a wait. Just a recommendation.

My husband, one year old daughter and I went here for dinner with his parents last week. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, a log cabin type feel. The menu is pretty much what I expected - you can smell the ribs as soon as you walk in so I'm guessing this is what people typically come for. I'm a vegetarian so that doesn't do me much good. I ordered the pizza, which was not the best I've ever had but was still pretty tasty. My husband and father in law had the ribs, and they both enjoyed their meals although they commented on the lack of wet-naps offered after their meal. Our server loses huge points because not only did my pizza arrive to the table about five minutes after everyone else had already started eating, but she then proceeded to put the HOT pizza directly in front of my daughter's high chair within her reach. Hello? Can you say training?? After dumping the pizza at our table, she quickly walked away leaving me to hold my pizza while we re-arranged random empty plates on the table to make room. She came back later to clear plates and take dessert orders - as I was still eating my pizza - so everyone else was having dessert while I was trying to finish my meal. It was a rather rushed meal for me. I have to say, though, the chocolate confusion cake was really good. If I go again and the same waitress is there, I'll probably just ask to not be seated in her section.
