Awkward bay windows. That's what we have, not just a bay but one which looked impossible to fit curtain rods to. Rachael at Stitch not only got the perfect rods but our new curtains are amazing. She was super responsive, came over with a bunch of fabrics to help me pick one, got the rods put up and measured again to make sure the curtains would have the perfect skimming the floor look. We are so happy with the new curtains, they really make the bedroom feel so much nicer and the quality of the work is top notch. I know we will enjoy them for decades.

Rachael Brune of Stitch has great taste and the personal touch. I had two sarongs from an anniversary trip to Bali, stuck in a closet, and she and her seamstress turned them into a lovely duvet that now reminds my husband and me each day of that trip. At one point, Rachael called to apologize: the duvet fabric had flaws and she needed to begin again--delaying delivery. But of course she wanted it perfect. A Stitch project is not inexpensive or a quick turnaround, but the quality and thoughtfulness are exceptional. I now have a unique piece I'll treasure for a long time.

This is my first home in SF, but not my first time doing my windows. So when I met Rachael, I could tell after our first meeting she was the one I would use. She's a true professional in her trade. She has a CLEAR understanding of all types of treatments, fabrics, and their uses that could or could not meet your needs. You can be as involved as want or just let her drive. She's listening to you even when you think, "Does she REALLY know what I mean?" She puts it all together and her end products are AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL!
I used her for my living room draperies, my bedroom Roman blinds and my guest bedroom wooden blinds. I love all three, and I'm not easy to please..... -

Non responsive, I've gotten one reply after three emails and two phone calls over two weeks period. I've moved on to another business with better customer service.

Simple design is hard. But Rachael and her team took the challenge and came up with a clean and simple treatment that has proven durable as we and our 4 year old have used it daily for the last 3 months.
She took the extra time to find the right fabrics for our roman shade and block out blinds that blended well with our existing decor. She knew which fabrics to focus on from her gigantic library and she even knew that some fabrics might not be available for long as we went through a prototype phase that stretched out the timeline for our project.
Her installer came back multiple times to adjust the hardware till it was just as we wanted it.
Altogether a satisfying 'high touch' experience. -

From the moment I met with Rachael to discuss plans for the window coverings for my newly acquired and very large Victorian home, I knew I was working with a consummate professional. Upon our first meeting I was given the opportunity to review what seemed like endless swatches of gorgeous, high quality fabrics and various rod samples.
Stitch provided an extremely thorough and understandable quotation prior to starting our project and I found that any questions I had were quickly and professionally answered in a timely fashion. While I admit Stitch is not inexpensive, the importance of the aesthetic (and quality) of this project outweighed any desire I had to pinch pennies and once I met with her, well, I knew that Stitch was going to do all of the work in my home no matter the cost.
Rachael and her team did an exquisite job with all of our window coverings, paying careful attention to each and every detail. From the planning stages and inspired design phase to the finished product, the quality of the workmanship from Stitch is unsurpassed and Rachael's eye for what "works" truly sets her apart.
I have and will continue to have dozens of compliments from guests and oohs and ahhs at dinner parties because of their wonderful work. I plan to have Rachael and her team do more work for me in the future and will recommend their work to friends and family...and Yelpers. -

Rachael did an Amazing job on our window coverings for 4 huge bay windows in our new place. I enjoyed working with her on ideas to bring our rooms to life with custom window coverings. She is very creative and look forward to working with her in the future. Her ideas were great and love the end result. We went away for vacation and came home to beautiful new blinds, curtains and pillows for the bedroom.
Rachael is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her and her team! -

Rachael is not only a wonderful human being, she really knows her craft!
I had picked up a mid century chair with wonderful bones, but horried vinyl upholstery and as a designer I had very specific ideas how I wanted the chair to be done. She worked with me from beginning to end: from ordering the fabric to calling me when she thought the fabric was not exactly matching the sample before starting the work, to blowing me away with the finished piece. It is better than I had imagined or have seen in several upscale furniture stores on Valencia. I know where I go for my next upholstery project! -

What a great experience I CONTINUE to have with Rachael and the [stitch] team. Project 1 (February 2008) I was looking for modern custom window treatments for my new house and was getting nowhere with selection or service at several "mainstream" places. Rachael was quick to respond, brought tons of options to the table, offered her expertise and LISTENED - for the first time I felt like I was not being talked down to. The result was a sophisticated look that fit my taste and house perfectly - installed with great professionalism and within the time they allocated. Our next project...the second floor - windows, pillows and an ottoman. If you, like I, were frustrated with dealing with a superstore like Blinds and Design then look to [stitch]. I could not have asked for a better partner than [stitch].
Project #2: (September 2008) Modern covering for a set of second floor bay windows. Within 5 seconds of looking at the windows she suggested a sheer white modern look that maintained the integrity of the windows while also offering the appropriate level of covering.
Project #3 (March 2009) I needed furnitture covers for my outdoor space and once again turned to Rachael. She and the team immediately brought me a palate of appropriate fabrics that took the patio and house colors into consideration and what I needed to cover the investment I made in my furniture. Today I saw the results, to say I am impressed and pleased is a huge understatement. 3 projects... 3 complete smiles I wish I could say that about every vendor!
Project #4 - pillows for outdoor furniture and covers for deck chairs!!!! -

Huge windows are nice. But there comes a time when you've seen enough of your neighbours, and your neighbours have seen enough of you. After 3 years of living in a veritable fishbowl, it was time for some window treatments.
Rachael and team did a great job, working with my designer to produce some gorgeous (and PRACTICAL) solutions. Rachael went through several options with us, measured meticulously, and pointed out some of the challenges presented by my 100-year old wonky windows. She was very easy to work with, personable, charming and a great communicator. She and her installer were punctual, tidy, quick, and pretty entertaining !
Thanks Rachael and the Stitch crew, for a job well (and beautifully) done.
But I think my neighbours are a little sad that they can't see in anymore :-) -

I have an interior design firm in San Francisco - kathleen monroe design - and have been working with Rachael for several years. She is probably my most thorough vendor, and everyone is always completely satisfied with her designs and her quality.
She always brings great energy, enthusiasm, professionalism and collaborative spirit to every project. She can work with a wide range of budgets, and every project turns out beautifully!
Stitch is totally fabulous . . . can't say enough!!! -

Rachel and her team created roman shades for most of the windows in our house, including some very large bedroom and living room frames. We got quotes from several other budget blind shops and a few boutique blind vendors, but Rachel had them beat on quality of materials and workmanship. Prices were in the mid-range, but I feel that the quality of materials and stitching used justifies the big spend.
Rachel has a keen eye for colors and fabrics that will work, and isn't afraid to voice her opinion without drowning out your own instincts. After all, who ends up looking at the blinds day and night eh?
Rachel's team measured very accurately and put up temporary blinds on all our windows while the window treatments were being made. After a few weeks, all the work was done and the install went smoothly. We're extremely happy with our shades, they accent the fairly limited character in our house, and just look very clean and modern on the windows.
I only give 5 stars to works of genius like Ulysses or Waiting for Godot, but I would highly recommend Rachel and her team at Stitch for your window covering needs. Top notch. -

We LOVE, love, love our curtains!!!! I want to tell you that Stitch was such a pleasure to work with; and helped to make a bad situation turn out to be smashing! We had gotten a referral from a business associate for someone to make our window coverings and the person was a FREAK! Measured at least 3 different times, gave us very strange advice and just made us very uneasy. I found Stitch online and liked what I saw. They came out-measured the whole house professionally and quickly. The quote was broken out very clearly with options and pictures of the choices we made...what a difference. Then they delivered, installed and everything fit and looked great-- We will definitely be referring Stitch to all our friends and using them on our next property.

Rachel did an excellent job with both our extra long drapes and our electric shades. Good selection, excellent advice, on time and budget. Sometimes hard to get a hold of, but otherwise she's the one for window coverings.

It has been over a year and I still get upset looking at our very expensive, but not very effective blackout curtains. To her credit, Rachael told us she wanted to make us happy but calling me "light sensitive" doesn't d the trick. Her assistant came up with the idea of hanging a panel over the area where the sun would come in, throwing shadows on my son in his crib. It worked better than nothing but for curtains that cost THOUSANDS of dollars, it is simply unbelievable. I got back onto Yelp in the hope that I can save someone else a fraction of the disappointment I feel.

Great service and quality work. I had roman shades, pillows, window seat, and drapes produced for a client, as well as some chairs reupholstered. I found the workmanship to be fantastic and reasonably priced. Rachael and her team were so easy to work with and came by quickly to measure and soon thereafter to install. Definitely recommend.

This is a long overdue review for Rachael's fabulous work on our bedroom. I wanted to add a few elements to a very bland space, and I had a limited budget. Rachel worked with me to create a gorgeous custom headboard, dust ruffle for the bed (that term seems insufficient to describe what she created) and upholstered storage chest. Rachael patiently worked with me to select the perfect fabrics, and then her team built these pieces here in California in in less time than it would have taken Pottery Barn to ship from China. I look forward to working with Rachael again on a more substantial project and would recommend her to anyone who's in the market for custom upholstery, window coverings, pillows, etc.

Rachael and her staff were indeed a pleasure to work with. Our bay window was in desperate need of some attention and Rachael definitely came to the rescue with her knowledge of fabrics and different styles of shades; she found the perfect covering for our window and we could not be happier! I would definitely recommend Stitch to anyone looking for a very professional, great quality job in window coverings. Thanks Stitch!!
