This is a good place to take your kids to eat at Woodfield Mall if you are like me and don't want to go to the average obnoxious kid venues or eat hamburger and fries.
They gave my son a cute takeout carton filled with crayons, chopstick holders, and a coloring book to keep him occupied. Service is impeccable.  Very friendly,  Our server was also very cool and gave my son a dish of pineapples without charging us when he asked for one.
The food was pretty good, not PF Chang's good, but decent. a little bit pricey for what you get......my pad thai was $13.  My brother ordered the Mongolian Beef for $14, and it was mostly fried noodles.

My fiance and I have been here several times. I've also taken coworkers here for lunch. The food is usually pretty decent, but the last time we went, my meal was cold and lacking in flavor - I don't know if it's a trend in recent times, but it seems like a lot of resutaurants are lacking / slacking right now - of course being in the suburbs limits your choices.

We stopped here today after our suburban excursion out to the mall and IKEA. We wandered around IKEA forever to pick up a bookshelf for our new place. We were crabby and hungry so I suggested Stir Crazy. I haven't been here in a long time and I wanted to make my own creation of a stir fry.

We started with pot stickers, they were good but tiny. My guy had kung pao chicken & brown rice and I had create your own with chicken and brown rice. I added a whole bunch of veggies along with some pineapple. Yum! Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We may stop back if we're at the mall for another shopping excursion.

It's worth checking out if you like Asian food and you're at the Woodfield mall.  It's hard for them to compete with Big Bowl.

It's really hard to mess up stir fry.

Stir Crazy is just a fun place to eat. As soon as you walk in, you can smell all of the stir fries cooking, and your mouth will really start to water. Though the menu does have some very good dishes, I have to recommend you make your own stir fry at least once. I am partial to a calamari stir fry with thick noodles and teriyaki sauce piled high with peapods, baby corn, and water chestnuts. If you really have an appetite (since the stir fries are pretty big once they are cooked) or you are ordering dishes from the menu, then try the lettuce wrap appetizer. You won't regret it.

How in the hell did I wind up at Woodfield Mall the Saturday after Thanksgiving?  That was my first mistake...  After hunting Ikea for the perfect entertainment center for the boyfriend and one for our friends too, I was hungry and crabby.  I found myself in a jungle of concrete and needed something in a hurry.  Stir Crazy sounded like the first great idea either one of us had all day.  We walked in and were seated right away.  Our server was nice and meant well but he was the most absent minded server I have had in awhile.

We started out with the crispy sesame calamari.  It was actually really tasty although the sauces ranged from lame to very lame.  I had asked for chili hot sauce when we ordered the app and it never came.

I wasn't really understanding the concept of the restaurant, and since we were seated in the far corner, I couldn't see the "Market Bar."  When I asked the server what the deal was and how I could get a "Market Card" to make my own stir fry, I was immediately told that it was a misprint and that they didn't do that anymore.  He also explained that if I chose to make my own that I would be getting more veggies, but if I ordered off the menu I would get more meat.  That was the only explanation I got about that.  Frustrated and hungry, I ended up just ordering their Kung Pao Chicken.  My friend got the same but with Tofu.  The boyfriend ordered Cashew Chicken.

When the food came it looked pretty good.  It was a major case of looks good, tastes meh...  My friends tofu dish came out with chicken, not tofu.  Since he is not a vegetarian he didn't bother sending it back.  It took 20 minutes to get a beer.  All of the veggies were mushy and tasted exactly like the noodles.  There was no real flavor to the entree until I added some soy.  The cashew chicken "needed salt."  I don't really think cashew chicken should ever need salt.

All in all, two thumbs down.

Almost every time I go to Woodfield, my boyfriend and I stop at Stir Crazy. Their calamari is so freaking good!! And I love the sauce that comes with it.  My boyfriend loves the 3 Japanase steaks and i always steal a few bites.

And you can't leave without having the banana wotons with ice cream.

The service is good. Our waiters are always friendly and attentive. Only once did we have a waiter that was a bit of an air head. I think it was his first day or something, he had a trainee tag. So, it's understandable.

It can get a bit pricey when you order drinks and dessert

I don't ususally review chains, but I'm going to go out on a limb for this one, because I'm crazy about the food.  I've been going to Stir Crazy for a long, long time, at least since the one at the Woodfield Mall opened, and I feel like I've tried tons of dishes here.  I have my favorites--I like the cashew chicken, szechwan chicken, and the double pan fried noodles (the last might be my absolute favorite).  I think the appetizer list is fantastic--from the tasty crab rangoons, to the tempura green beans.  They're not listed as an appetizer, but I love love love to order them as one.  We've also tried the potstickers, the lettuce wraps, the chicken satay and edamame, and all of it is good.  I'm not kidding.

I've only ever had one bad dish at Stir Crazy, and that was the Pad Thai, which was overly fishy for my tastes.  But they were so incredibly nice about replacing the dish and getting me something else that a bad experience turned into a good one.

Actually, I think that if I had to choose one suburban restaurant to move into the city, it would be this one.  I do miss going there.  Last night was a treat.

It's true that the food there is excellent, and inside the infamous Woodfield Mall, so I can't really complain about the ambience.  However, I was reading one of the reviews saying it's only 8.95 for a stir fry...well, that's old...the only thing I will complain about is how much they've raised their prices over the last couple of years.  I guess it's understandable since they're usually always packed, and they have a great location, but still, that's why they lost one of their stars.

This place is the best Americanized Oriental place I've ever been to. I love their coconut shrimp but I was very upset when I found out what their Vietnamese Springs Rolls were. They were fried! viet spring rolls are healthy for you. They're not even cooked.

Good healthy food, well priced.  Kid friendly (sort of).

Try the thai wings for an apetizer, they're very good.

I say sort of kid friendly because if you have a toddler, it's not always easy to juggle a bowl of veggies, and keep him/her preoccupied while you're waiting for your food to be stir fried.

Other than that, I really enjoy the place.  I've been to both locations and had a great time at both.  The staff is friendly and good at moving people in and out so you don't have to wait long to be seated.

This is my favorite place to eat only because it costs $8.95 to create your own meal with the HUGE variety of veggies available at the stir fry bar & the different sauces you can choose from and then there are a variety of noodles/rice they let you pick to have as well.  If you don't feel like creating your own meal and having it cooked right in front of you, they have a large menu of other items to choose from.  I suggest trying the Banana Wonton drink - it's like banana wontons, only in a nice frosty glass.  Yum Yum all the way around!!!

Really good. My wife and I enjoy this place a lot. You can create your own meal or choose from the menu. Excellent fusion of all sorts of asian food.
Very few restaurants can beat this place for food under $10. Affordable, fresh and fantastic tasting.

Its not what u pay but where u go to eat.

This place is awesome!  They've got an enormous menu of thai food and if you don't like anything on the menu you can create your own meal!  They've got a bar of vegetables and you can pick your own meat, noodles, and sauce!  They cook it in front of you in their nice open kitchen.. Its perfect for the fussy eater!  They've also got a full bar and good frozen drinks!

Stir Crazy is an AWESOME place to get some great tasting food. You can either choose from their set menus, or you can make your own stir fry meal choosing your own ingrediants. This restraunt is a lot of fun. The portions are huge. Oh, and don't skip out on desert..its soo yummy!
