After visiting the Aquarium, we wanted to get something for the road, and this was it.

Full slab ribs: Absolutely amazing. Great smokey flavor and very tender and juicy. The sauces are fine but the ribs stand on their own without any sauce. You cannot get BBQ like this in the north.

Hickory smoked wings: Awesome. The entire family gulped these down like killer whales gulping down salmon. Rich smokey flavor. Again, good with or without sauce.

Brisket: Excellent. Not as juicy as the Texas brisket I'm used to, but flavorful and tasty.

I randomly walked in here because the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. That said, it was a surprisingly good dinning experience. It was appropriately decorated for a BBQ restaurant, and it was clean and well-maintained. The service was GREAT! The server helped me choose the right meal for me, and she even warned me not to get there new soup because it was bad. (Warning me about bad items always wins points). Overall, the menu had a great selection of wings, sandwiches, Rib platters and dinner plates. Not many healthy options though, but this isn't the place for that.

When the food arrived, my Grilled Chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly; the meat was moist and full of flavor. Plus, there was a good selection of BBQ sauces to choose from on the table. I arrived late to dinner, and despite closing, they never rushed me and were perfectly courteous.

I'm not a huge fan of this type of food, but  will definitely go back.

My mom, sister, and I randomly picked this place out of the tour brochure about downtown Chattanooga restaurants (I was SUPER tempted by the delicious-looking ribs in their picture!), and we had lunch after we finished our Ruby Falls tour. The drive downtown didn't take too long, and we were very lucky to find street parking right across the street as soon as we drove onto Broad St.!

I've always been a sucker for ribs, so as soon as I opened my menu, my eyes went to the RIBS section! There were so many choices, so the waiter recommended that I get the rib sampler - I ended up getting a full rack so I could share with my mom. The sampler came with 3 pieces each of their 4 most popular flavors (sweet, hot, dry, wet). My sister ended up getting the lunch brisket.

The service was good (the manager came by to check on us as well), but the food did take awhile...I was famished by the time we arrived at the restaurant, so I can't really blame them for taking the time to prepare our food well!
The food finally came and I was SO amazed at how delicious the ribs were!!!!! I also eat most of my food with utensils, and I was very pleased that the meat on my ribs came off fairly easily with my fork/knife. I've had ribs at many restaurants, and this is definitely one of the better ones I've ever tasted! (another one of my favorite is Phil's BBQ in San Diego)

After visiting Rock City, we were hungry!  We Yelped Sticky Fingers and headed downtown.  Very impressed with the food, especially the yellow Carolina BBQ sauce that they also sell at the gift shop.  We had a rack of dry rubbed ribs, brisket, and lots of greens.  This place makes me want to visit North Carolina, from which the restaurant was founded.  Really good stuff!

I think I can add this as a favorite-

We shared the rib sampler for 2 - in order to get a good feel of what ribs are good here. Good call.
All the ribs were fall off the bone - almost to a fault. Try cutting these to split half n half, but... "woops, bone came off the meat... well here's your rib! ;) " hah!

Dry Rub Ribs - a favorite of the mrs now. She's comin back for this one.
Wet Ribs - probably my favorite - nice sweet flavor.
Habanero Ribs - supposed to be pretty spicy - but I couldn't tell much difference from the regular wet ones. I woulda been interested if these had more of a kick.
Sweet Ribs - hmmm... i don't have much to write about the sweet ones to be honest.

    For sides we had:
Mashed potatoes  - really good gravy.
    Collard Greens - no complaints
Green Beans - beans felt overcooked, but the flavor was good.

Enjoyed the blues music in the background too.

Our third of three barbecue stops in Chattanooga was Sticky Fingers.  I realize this is a regional chain but we were downtown, it sounded good and is open for Sunday lunch, which is normally not true of the Mom 'n Pop places.  As usual, we order a broad sample and have way too much food.  So here we go...

We had two Blues Plates that included our choice of two meats.  The barbecued chicken was pink, smoky and moist.  It was served chopped, off the bone.  The pulled pork comprised very large shreds.  It was smoky and fairly good, but was on the edge of dry.  I continue to prefer the chopped eastern NC style to this.  The sausage was a surprise.  It was a grilled link of fresh sausage, like a brat that you would get in Wisconsin, but with southern seasonings.  It was good and I would order again for a sandwich.  It is not smoked like the great sausage in Texas.  The ribs were very smoky and good.  I ordered them unsauced and they were fresh, tender and moist.  The ribs and sausage are the clear winners of what we had.  For chain store barbecue, there is nothing wrong with this.

The potato salad was yellow, but mild of mustard and needed a bit more dressing.  Slaw is coarse, with standard sweet creamy dressing.  Beans are straight out of a can standard.   Collards were OK with some seasoning including garlic.  Mac and cheese was probably made with Velveeta.  All of the sides are very standard almost institutional, not full of Southern love.  So a solid three stars, pulled along by the good ribs that we had that day.

I had friends who are from Chattanooga recommend this place to me and usually they are pretty legit with their recommendations.   Yet Sticky Fingers did nothing if not disappoint.

The biggest problem with this place is the service.  The staff is aggressively indifferent to customers wants and needs. The waitress when she came to our table might have been having a bad day, but I don't think it would have been too much to acknowledge our existence.  My wife ordered a beer from the bar and it got to the table 10 minutes faster than a soda.  Then we never heard from our waitress again.

The food was brought out and it was uninspiring.  I had the Memphis Dry rub ribs and pulled pork combo with Mashed Potatoes, Deep Fried Corn on the Cob and BBQ baked Beans.  The pulled port and the BBQ beans were pretty good.  The deep fried corn was disgusting, but hey I had to try it, and the mashed potatoes were like cold concrete.

The main attraction which was the ribs were just plain mediocre.  I have always had a philosophy that good BBQ should not require any sauce.  Really good dry rub ribs should already be exploding with flavor and the sauce should be the icing on the cake.  But both the pulled pork and the ribs were in desperate need of sauce.  I think if I were a starving refugee that I could have gotten the ribs down without sauce but otherwise I believe I would have insisted on it,.

All of this would have rated at least a 3 if we could have just gotten some form of service though.  We could not get refills on our drinks,  No one could be bothered to ask if everything was ok, and it was not. Hell they could barely be bothered to bring us a bill.  We are on a tour of the Southeast and I was really looking forward to some good southern BBQ.  THIS AINT IT!

Review of BBQ joints can be unpredictable, because let's face it - sometimes you may show up at the wrong part of the day, or may get the less than stellar portion of the cut...  As a general rule, you also have the right to send it back and ask for a better cut...

Other times, it comes out to you, prepared well enough, served the right way, and yet... Yet something is still off.

That's how I felt about this place, near the Chattanooga river front area. I asked for a recommendation, and decided upon a 1/2 rack of ribs, dry rubbed, so that I could tasted the different sauces.

The meat was done well enough, slid off the bones, and the dry rub was fine as well. Its just... What's the word I'm looking for?  I guess that it lacked "love." Meaning, anything distinctive, anything that makes you say "Yes" or "Damn!" or "Holy ****!" as you take the next voracious bite out of your ribs...

I don't know... Maybe I was expecting too much.

The ribs were very tender with the meat falling off the bone and choice of sauces.  The pulled pork was equally tender, but be sure to ask for extra sauce, as the pulled pork comes unflavored.  The baked potato is the best value for sides, as its is huge compared to the portion of the veggies.

The only disappointment was that my fingers were not as sticky as advertised.  But I'll take a happy tummy over sticky fingers.

My friend and I took a road trip from California and turned it into a meat/food trip.. We truly are obsessed with Ribs and BBQ, and I think this was a ok place to try out ribs and BBQ sauce. Best pulled pork Nachos & BBQ ribs ive had. The ribs were meaty, Corn slaw with peanuts, My 1st time trying Yuengling beer here (Americas oldest brewery). We drove 3+hrs b4 arriving here and this was a good thing. We ate alot & great service.

Oh, and I really love the five different BBQ sauces you can choose from.

The only thing that redeemed my meal was the Sticky Fingers Hot Pepper Sauce.  We were a party of 3 and two of us ordered the Jumbo Chicken Wings.  Jumbo.....NOT.  DRY.......SUPER YES.  We had a 50 min wait and then we were inform right before we were seated that there was a 1 1/2 wait for ribs.  The complimentary cornbread was decent.  I will not visit this establishment again.

I call myself a connoisseur of BBQ due to a hobby turned competition BBQ team I compete on. So I feel somewhat educated enough to speak on great BBQ.

The sauce here is good - no doubt. It would not be in every single store all over the country if it was not. If you get down to the meet though it has to stand on its own.

Tonight my wife and daughter attended while visiting the Chattanooga area and we were both pleasantly surprised. The staff was pleasant, helpful, and accurately predicted our 15-20 minute wait for a table.

The ribs (my wife and I shared the Ribs for two plate) were both good and bad. Half of them were well cooked and seasoned that were very enjoyable and the other half were old and been sitting under the warming lights for too long. They had dried out to the point sauce did nothing for them.

We had Baked Beans (the worst), Potato Salad, Cole Slaw (the best), and  Green Beans. The Bakes Beans were cold upon delivery and obviously had been sitting out a while.

My daughter's kids meal (chicken fingers and fries) was good. Not tons of food like some places serve kids - but not too little that we felt we were getting ripped off.

Overall the food & service was good that we got which is why I saw "Yay! I'm a fan!"

Get those wet naps ready... your fingers will be covered in bbq sauce up to your elbows! Some of the best BBQ around town. Great place to go family style and sample a little of everything.

BBQ sauces: Memphis Style Wet, Memphis Style Dry, Tennessee Whiskey, Habañero Hot or Carolina Sweet. The sauce are laid out on the table, try them all (also available for purchase).

    1) Hickory smoked ribs, Tennessee Whiskey style - that's right folks, this is the way to eat your ribs... with a little bit of sweetness, a little kick and lots of flavor. The ribs melts of the bones and the goodness follows.

    2) Pulled pork sandwich, Memphis original - the pork was a little dry, but had lots of flavor (maybe it was from the sauce)

    3) Cole slaw - with lots of mayo and celery seed, just the way it should be

    4) Sweet potato casserole - with marsh mellow and brown sugar on top... it was so good

    5) Peach cobbler - thick layer of corn starch sweetened with peaches and more sugar... it was sugar overload and sooo good!

When I have a craving for BBQ sauce, this is the one place I request those traveling through NYC to pick up for me.

I had high hopes for Sticky Fingers.  I've seen their bbq sauce on supermarket shelves in NYC so I've always been curious abt the restaurant.  I was in town checking out Ruby Falls so I decided to drop by.   I ordered the Rib Sampler and was really disappointed.  The ribs were overcooked/tough to chew and they lazily spread the sauce on the ribs.  I mean I know its a sampler, but who cooks a full slab of ribs,  slaps 4 sauces on it unevenly and expects the customer to know what he's eating?  I did not enjoy this meal at all.  My brother and his wife said their Rib Sampler for 2 was much better but I don't believe in the luck of the draw when it comes to eating out.

Pretty good bbq before Sugars opened this was probably the best you could get in town. Now I would say that Sugars is better just my opinion. Interestingly enough I would say Sticky's has better sauces than Sugars but the meat at sugars and the sides just do it for me. If I could combine the meat and cooking of Sugars with the Sauces of Sticky's that would be super dope! If you have never been to a Sticky Fingers I think you should try it out of course and judge for yourself. There is usually some promo going on so check their website and subscribe to their email list.

I enjoyed dinner here, it's clearly a local favorite and they know how to prepare ribs. Tried the "whiskey ribs,"' they were great. Best of all though is Sticky Fingers BBQ sauces, they put a half dozen on your table and they were all tasty. So, here's my tip. Wanted to bring home a bottle, but I only carry-on, never check baggage, which means no bottles. I was pleased to find the sauces for sale inside the concourse in Charlotte,NC, at Sticky Fingers in the food court there. "Carolina Sweet" is my fav.

What I liked about this restaurant is the atmosphere - casual and comfortable for families with children. I got a nicely sized lunch portion of ribs, but they simply were not as pull-apart tender as I had hoped. Also, they were out of crayons when we were there, so our kids didn't have much to do while we waited for the crayons. My husband's salad didn't have any chicken on it (which it was supposed to have), so we had to ask for that. The service was pleasant and friendly, but this simply wasn't all that memorable.

Smoke cooking has been an art form perfected generally in the South and surrounding areas. We don't need to go into definitions and splitting hairs here. We do need to address Sticky Fingers BBQ and it's uniqueness in the realm of BBQ joints. I have dined here many times and never had a bad experience and always tasted some of the finest BBQ that can be had. Personally I prefer my ribs Memphis style, dry and with a sauce for dipping. Sticky Fingers really hits the spot. Their pulled pork sandwich is not the overly sauced or dry affair that often is served in wannabe restaurants.
Tasty, just moist enough and always filling. This establishment pays attention to the sides that are available. They are not an after thought as is often the case. I realize this is a chain, however it still keeps it 'stand alone' feel to it. Service is always good and if there is ever a question, the waitstaff are knowledgeable and helpful. This location on Broad street lends itself well to anyone who is looking to explore the city of Chattanooga, while enjoying a meal. It gets my A-OK !!!

    Best. Ribs. EVER!

When we got there, the place was packed and the line was out the door! When you make reservations, you're actually just putting your name down on the list. Still faster than just walking in though. They do have a separate section with a full bar.

I got the rib sampler for one which came with a few ribs marinaded with memphis dry, memphis wet, tennessee whiskey, and carolina sweet. Honestly, I was hungry and it was way too much food for me. The rib sampler for one can be split for two. All the ribs were tender. I didn't really like the dry ribs, as they were too dry. The whiskey and carolina sweet were ok. I liked the memphis wet the best as it had a bit of kick to it. The cornbread you can ask for is alright. In the end, we were all very stuffed and in food comas.

Service was great, very attentive and accommodating. Drinks were good. The ambiance was nice. Lights are dim and it can be a good date spot. I'd definitely come back for more if I'm in Chattanooga again.

My wife and I shared the rib sampler (~$26 for roughly 16 ribs)

The ribs were lightly coated in one of the following sauces (or rub):

Memphis Original (wet)- Solid offering, tasty sauce (4)
Dry Rub- excellent rub, applied in an appropriate ratio to the meat so as not to overpower its flavor.  (4)
    Carolina Sweet- good stuff (4)
Habanero Hot- not really 'hot' at all, just ok (3)

Other sauces available included "Tennessee Whiskey" and "Carolina Classic".  I actually liked these two the best.  (4.5 for both)

The ribs themselves were done very well- the meat was not overcooked that it would fall off the bone too easily, but was tender enough to slide off once you bit into it.

Sure, this place is a chain (they evidently sell ribs online...)- but for what they do, they do it pretty darned well.  If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely come back here.

Coming from California, I didn't realize just how close I am to other nearby states, at least not until I drove up to Ringgold for an assembly. As I lay down on my bed, trying to figure what to do, I thought about taking a peek at TN. And what better reason there is than to try other this place.

(Well, there may be other reasons, but I can only stay up there for a couple of hours anyway)

So I drove up to Chattanooga, parked and walked over to an available chair in the place.

Per recommendation by the server, I ordered the sampler. I also got a half order of onions, but they gave me two, for some reason. The server  waved it off and put it on the house, which made me happy. RIGHT ON!

(If my PT is reading, please note that I gave the extra order to a neighbor, so I didn't give in to temptation. So there!)
The sampler arrived and as frankly, all of the ribs are succulent and tasty. The BBQ fundamentalist in me thinks its cooked in electric instead of a smoker, but I put that unease out of my mind - it taste good, so what quibble?

When I am back in the area, I will come back to this place.  Now to plan a vacation up there. . .

Great location and not-so-great BBQ. The ribs were fatty -- packets of fat! They also were tough and stringy. Wack! It seems like a toursit trap at this point. It's not what it used to be. I would never eat here again. Go across the street to Sugar's Ribs. Better yet, go to the Sugar's Ribs off the highway. WAY BETTER QUALITY!

I took my wife and daughter to Sticky Fingers after a long days of touristy activities.  I had a half rack of smoked ribs, pulled pork and a side of potato salad and baked beans.  We also started it off with a free order of wings (get this coupon from your hotel, i'm sure they all have it.)

The beans were good, the potato salad was too mustardy, but the ribs were fantastic.  I got them with the dry rub, then sampled the various bbq sauces they offer.  While most of them were good, I really like the Memphis Original.  It was good enough that what we didn't finish we took back to our hotel with us.

I'd definitely recommend Sticky Fingers if you're passing through Chattanooga.

I've tried Sticky Fingers several times over the 10 years in Chattanooga, wanting to like it since it's "southern barbecue" and I live in the South.  But I have to say, I've never been impressed, in fact quite the opposite.  It's unoriginal in its menu choices, and the food has been barely tolerable each time.  I recently met some people for a quick meeting there, and remembering how disappointed I was in the past, I opted not to order any food, but rather went to another restaurant after the meeting was done.  I was confirmed in my choice when the food that my fellow diners ordered arrived.  There was nothing that any of them ordered that I wouldn't have been kicking myself over wasting money had I ordered it too.  Their food is greasy and unhealthy.  Their salads have fried foods on top and even their "grilled" items seem saturated in oil.

I understand that some people consider a good restaurant to equal piles of indistinguishable food, regardless if it's out of a can and thrown straight into a fryer.  And that's fine.  However, especially in this recession, if you want to make that $20 buy not just a dump truck of food but rather quality ingredients prepared well, I would go somewhere else.  Sorry guys!

    ~*Its about to get sticky.*~

A must-do when it comes to visiting Chattanooga! Take your classic barbeque (or barbecue) joint subtract the peanut shells tossed on the floor, add a dish towel-type hunter green cloth napkin, and some hickory to the fire and you've got Sticky Fingers Smokehouse. This traditional Memphis style BBQ stays true to the essentials: a good rub for the meat, tender pulled pork, and a watery molasses based sauce.

Located on busy Broad Street in downtown Chattanooga, Sticky Fingers has made a name for itself. From the ribs to the split chicken breasts and the traditional pulled pork, the menu is limitless if you are hankering for some good grub. Your meat of choice typically comes either dry or mildly sauced but each table contains a slew of sauce options:
     1) Carolina Classic: With its sweet mustard base don't be fooled there is a little burn that sneaks up on you in the end.
     2) Tennessee Whiskey: Hickory flavor dances on your tongue with this mellow and light sauce.
     3) Carolina Sweet: Who knew that a Carolina inspired sauce can get any sweeter, but it does! This sauce blends both sugar and hickory flavors.
     4) Memphis Original: Just as I suspected, the thick and smokey held together with molasses. (My personal favorite).
     5) Habanero Hot Sauce: What a kick in the mouth! It sets your mouth deliciously on fire.

Dining on a Sunday for lunch, there was only a 5 minute wait but that provided time for us to look at the souvenirs like clever T-shirts (my personal favorites "Our Pits smell better than Yours" and "Come lick our bones") and bottles of sauce or rub to take home. Having picked up a coupon at our hotel lobby we received a free order of Sticky Potato Skins which is nearly an $8.00 appetizer. Four potato halves stacked with pulled pork barbeque and cheese encircled a plop of sour cream. A heart attack waiting to happen. The pork was tender and infused with delicious hickory smoke making the potato underneath the pile a waste of my time. It was an interesting twist on the traditional potato skins.

For my entree I wanted to test these guys by ordering what meat lovers hate most, salad. I ordered the Smokehouse Club Salad with pulled chicken. It was piled high with chopped bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onion and Honey Mustard dressing on the side and man was it delicious!!! A+ from me. The Pulled Pork Barbecue sandwich in the regular size was fantastic and topped off with a mound of cole slaw. I am unsure whether it was a Sunday special but an $8.99 "all you can eat buffet" offering BBQ chicken or pulled pork, greens, potatoes, corn, and two desserts was set up as well.

I love barbeque and Sticky Fingers hit the spot. I recommend anyone to "get sticky" on their trip to Chattanooga.

Definitely not worth the expensive price. Told a 15 min wait for a table that took 45. A simple dinner turned in to a three hour waste of time and money.12 oz draft beer was $5.00. Sold out of ribs and brisket. Would I return... Doubtful...make that definitely not.

If you like ribs and wings then you will like Sticky Fingers! The wings are smoked and not "Buffalo" style. SF's line up of sauces complement the smokey flavor of the wings and ribs in a good way. As "homemade" as the ribs and wings were I was surprised by the fries as they seemed like the frozen kind with some sort of crunchy coating. The server offered a different side when he noticed I wasn't eating the fries. I ended up having coleslaw and broccoli-cheese casserole. The sides were very good. I look forward to going back for sure!

This is the best BBQ/Ribs you will find anywhere.  Several of the guys and I in the riding club go here just for the heck of it and to get some nice scenery in while we ride.

I always get the dry rub ribs and use my choice of the sauces to complement the flavor of the dry rub. There are 2 locations in Chattanooga and both are great.  If you love ribs, get the full rack and try to finish them off or bring some home for the day after.

You will fall in love with this place.

Sticky Fingers was one of our first stops in Chattanooga (we were hungry!), and it didn't disappoint.  I don't know how "authentic" it is, but the food was tasty.  I had the pulled chicken, my wife enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich.  The best part was being able to sample all of their various barbeque sauces.  Good stuff.

For $20 for the two of us, I'd say it was a pretty decent first meal in Chattanooga.

This is a great location and the ribs were fantastic. Two of my kids also tried and loved them also.

Service was great. Wait was great. Food was outstanding.

We eat here all the time.  It is a chain, but their ribs are the best I have ever had.  The sides are nothing special, but the ribs are excellent!
