This place sucked! The atmosphere was OK and the price was way to high for taste-less pizza. I don't mind paying a few extras bucks for a great slice, but the quality of this crap was ridiculous!!! I love pizza and it is hard to disappoint me...well Steve's did a great job of that!

When thinking of pizza places, two things come to mind. Either you want it to be a sit down place to chill with friends or just really good pizza. Steve's Place Pizza Pasta and Grill offers both. When you enter, the enviorment is large and inviting. My friend and I went and ended up spending two hours there, just hanging out. Booths are comfy, much better then the slates of wood benches others have to offer.
The pizza was reasonable priced. I believe around $20 for a large. They are semi thick and full of yummy toppings. The kind of pizza would fill a growing boy who eats all the time. While all that was tried was the pizza. However the menu also includes many different pastas and a few burger items I believe as well. A salad bar is as well a nice option. The taste of the food will make you want to come back again and again.
If a change from the normal everyday pizza's that are delivered by places like Roundtable or Pizza Hut is needed, this is a great change. More of a homie feeling when you are there, opposed to a fast food, every other on looks the same kind of feeling. Several T.V.s are placed around the facility, sure to keep every sports fan up to date on their favorite teams. The staff gives you that sit down feeling, with out the prices feeling the same. Definitely a place I shall return to for my pizza eating options.

Met some friends at Steve's tonight for a small b-day get together for an ex-coworker. The place was convenient for them, since they still work right down the street, but for me it was the Walmart parking lot from hell. There's no signs directing traffic in the lot and really no clear delineation of lanes in some areas. Kind of a free for all auto derby. Steve's itself is at the very far end of the parking lot. There was a lot of honking, braking and cursing to get from Point A to Point B.
First off, I'll be honest --I didn't partake in any of the pizza (the whole lactose-intolerance thing) but my friends who did , enjoyed it. I ended up downing two beers (they carry the regular domestics plus Newcastle, Sierra, and Blue Moon on tap) and splitting the spaghetti & meatballs dinner with a pregnant friend. It was pretty huge (the portion, not my pregnant friend) - a LARGE plate of spaghetti, 3 meatballs the size of tennis balls and a couple pieces of garlic bread. It was big enough to satisfy me and a pregnant girl, c'mon that's pretty big !
The garlic bread was bland and the spaghetti sauce was nothing to write home about but the meatballs... THE MEATBALLS were hella good! (Yes, I used the infamous NorCal "hella" to describe these suckers) I kept peeking back there to see if they had a little old Sicilian granny chained to the kitchen, rolling meatballs. If they did, I couldn't see her from where I was sitting.
The restaurant itself is fairly large and has a small room to the side that can be reserved. Maybe it was just me, but we were there for 3 hours and with the exception of the 2 girls that worked there, we were the only women in the place the ENTIRE time. Odd...
The staff there was really nice and the counter guy was pretty hilarious. He was a very sweet gentleman with a spanish accent that advised me that I smelled nice, inquired what kind of perfume I was wearing and advised me that I should come in more (what girl doesn't like a compliment?). He was also kind enough to loan us plates and a large knife for the b-day cake we had brought with us (we even gave him a slice). The fact that we almost burned down the place with our numerous candles and quick lighting matches, didn't seem to faze him.
Steve's seems like a great neighborhood joint to hit if you live out in Natomas.
5 stars for the friendly staff, 3 stars for the chow and 1 star for the hellacious parking lot.

This place is a little to pricey and I don't think its all that great. Although the breadsticks here are probably the best I've ever had. I go here just to get them from time to time. Nice clean friendly place when satisfactory food and prices which is what you may expect from look at the place. If you don't mind paying a little more for pizza then go for it!
