Worked with Julie at Stern Mortgage, and couldn't be happier. As a prerequisite, she's very knowledgable about the loan process and easily answered all questions. The five stars comes from her communication style (quick to respond to emails and calls, works after hours), and her creativity (advised me to move a loan from a rental property to my primary, where I could save some interest rate). In addition, she's the only one that let me make sure my loan was approved before ordering the appraisal - thanks for looking out for the client, Julie!
As Yelp says, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!". Highly recommended. -

My wife and I are more than pleased with our decision to use Stern Mortgage when we purchased our home in Los Altos. We found them to be knowledgeable, professional, and to have top notch customer service. Julie Fukuhara, in particular, went out of her way to make our experience pleasurable - taking our calls after normal business hours and on weekends, and bringing all paperwork to us in person when it wasn't convenient for us to drive to her office. Stern Mortgage's reputation with lenders was also important to us, as they always seem
to get the best terms on the loans they process. We recommend them to all our friends, and will certainly give them our business again in the future. -

I recommend Julie Stern Fukuhara *very* strongly. She came through for me on my refi with service above and beyond what others would have done. In fact, 3 other attempts to refi went nowhere thanks to dropping values, newly stringent lending practices and less-than-helpful brokers and loan officers. She really made it happen for me. She's competent, professional, quick, friendly, and HONEST. When there was a small misunderstanding, she actually took responsibility and did the right thing - saving me money and impressing me even further with her integrity and professionalism. Wow, if only everyone did business like she does. I got the terms that I wanted and better service than I expected. She came to my closing and followed up after. Simply the best experience I have had with a mortgage or refi. Highly recommended.

I had a loan refi that was difficult to get funded (title seasoning issues)- I talked with more than 6 banks or mortgage brokers in total, and Stern Mortgage was one of only 3 that said they would even be able to do it, and of those 3, Stern Mortgage was the only one that had a good interest rate (all the others were several percentage points higher). It was a rather long loan process (which I can't fault Stern Mortgage for, as it was more the lending institution that kept coming back for more and more information) but, Stern Mortgage came through in the end and helped me get through a difficult refi with a great interest rate. I worked with Julie Stern Fukuhara, who I can say is an outstanding mortgage broker, a great person to deal with, and is someone that I trust (a rare quality amongst mortgage brokers).

I've worked with Julie on 2 re-fi's & been really pleased with her work. She's efficient, explains things simply and is quick with all follow up. She also keeps you up to date of rates in case something out there is beating a current rate.
I look forward to continuing to work with her on any re-financing needs.

Julie is a savior! After eight (count them, 8!) failed attempts with struggling mortgage companies, Stern Mortgage came to the rescue. Not only did Julie find a suitable lender for us, she negotiated premium rates! This is on top of the diligent follow up and great customer service that Julie and her company offer. HIGHLY recommended!

I went to Stern based on Yelp reviews and worked with Julie, who was great: easy to get ahold of and talk to, very knowledgeable, good up front process. Though I ended up refinancing through my current lender, I really appreciated the quick response and ease of doing business.

I would highly recommend anybody at Stern Mortgage company to help you in buying a home. I was a first time home buyer, and not knowing much about the process but Tommy F. was a great person to know and have on my side. A lot of hard work and effort, and overtime was spent on getting approvals pushed through and everything taken care of on time. I will use them for all future mortgage needs!

We used Julie Stern Fukuhara to refinance a mortgage on a second home and have nothing but good things to say about her. She aligned herself with us as clients from the start, used her knowledge of the business to our benefit, and made sure everything went through smoothly, despite delays we had with loan processing. Todd Flesner, in particular, made it very easy for us to get through the application process and to close on the refinancing. This is the 3rd time we have used Todd and Stern Mortgage for our loans and refinancing over that last several years. Stern Mortgage's reputation with lenders is an important advantage, as they always seem to get the best terms on the loans they process. Julie Stern Fukuhara of Stern Mortgage offers excellent customer service with a personal touch. I first contacted Julie when I wanted to know whether it would be worth it to refinance. Even though I let her know that I wasn't ready to refinance quite yet, she was happy to spend an hour talking with me. She questioned me about my goals and discussed several innovative options with me, including the mortgage accelerator loan, which just recently came to the U.S. Therefore, when I was ready to refinance a year and a half later, Julie was the only mortgage professional I considered. Julie was very knowledgeable about the mortgage industry, rate trends and the application process; in fact, the book available from Stern Mortgage will give you a basic introduction to the important facts. Julie acted as an advocate for me by making sure I understood my options and helping me choose the best loan type for my needs. She also went above and beyond the call of duty by monitoring the rates on a daily basis and calling me when they dipped, which allowed me to get the best rate during this tumultuous period. If you want a stress-free mortgage application process, I recommend Julie at Stern Mortgage.
