Stephanie Inn deserves the praise it gets. This was one of our favorite stops on our honeymoon. Our room had a stunning view of the ocean and Haystack Rock. We fell asleep every night to the sound of the crashing Pacific and cool ocean breeze wafting into the room, while the fireplace, kept things cozy inside.

The staff was genuinely nice and very helpful. The coffee/tea bar is a nice touch - who doesn't love a cookie jar? The complimentary wine offered every night in the lounge was well-done: there were about 5-6 wines offered and they changed each night we were there. Prie fixe dinner is prepared nightly (at additional cost) and was very good. I suggest dining there at least one night. We also used their complimentary shuttle service to try the nearby Growler Street Bistro and Newman's 988 (Newman's was _very_ good). An (again, complimentary) nightcap was offered in the lounge after dinner.

Breakfasts were perfect. Buffet style, but very high quality: with the offerings changing a bit every morning.

In summary: probably the most expensive place in town, but you _do_ get what you pay for here. We will be back!

It's been almost two years since we've stayed at the Stephanie Inn, but it still comes up in conversation about the fabulous one of a kind experience we had.  I got lucky when I called to make a reservation because they asked if I wanted to join the wine taster's dinner.  They only do it a couple times a year.  I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was somewhere around $150 for the two of us.  Sound expensive?  Well, not for what we got.

The special wine tasters dinner is a partnership between the Stephanie Inn chef and a NW winery.  This particular evening, we were pleased to meet the son of the owner of Erath Vineyards.  Before each course, the chef and son of Erath would address the dining room guests with an explanation of the food and paired wine.  I don't remember the entire menu, but I do remember trying caviar for the first time, proscuitto wrapped something, lamb, risotto, salads, prawns, dessert, and yes, EVERY course came with a different glass of wine.  This was free pour, no little tasting pour.  By the time the evening was over, we had way more than any one person's share of wine, but God it was fantastic.

It was a lucky thing we were staying in that hotel that night because we never would have made it to the parking lot, much less to be able to drive anywhere.  In fact, I think that they only allow folks who are staying there or are within walking distance to attend the dinner.

The room was beautiful and we had a fabulous ocean view.  They also have a free wine and hors d'eourves happy hour in the hotel library.  We met some nice people and had an enjoyable time.

Upon check out we were given travel bags that had a freshly baked cookie and a bottle of water.  The cookies are available all day by the way!  Dont' forget to look in that cookie jar on the front counter.  Yummy!

We have wanted to go back but with three kids, we just haven't found the time to make it happen lately.

If you are looking for an Oregon Coast location to get away or dine at, Stephanie Inn should be at the top of your list!  Sunday, Marcy my wife and I came home from a weekend at their property.  From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out we experienced professional hospitality, a quiet atmosphere and unique amenities!

Upon checking in we were provided with an informative tour from the bellman who escorted us to our third floor balcony room.  After a relaxing walk on the beach we ventured back to enjoy the wine tasting event held in the Stephanie Inn library.  We were under the impression that this event was merely a "tasting," but were presently surprised when we received full classes of our choice of wine!  We opted to take our selections back to our room where we enjoyed them on our spacious balcony.

For dinner we opted to stay on the property.  After being addressed by Executive Chef Crystal Corbin, we immersed ourselves in our delicious bottle of 2004 Basel Cellars Reserve Syrah (purchased on our first trip to Walla Walla together).  I came to the conclusion that this is one of the best wines I have ever had the pleasure of drinking.  It was simply delightful!  After being presented with a peach, gorgonzola and balsamic starter, the warm, fresh and delicious Tillamook white cheddar and chili bread made its way to our table.  Soon to follow were the Cesar salads and savory seafood stew, infused with chili oil and micro celery.  For my main course I opted for the garlic and rosemary rubbed beef tenderloin and my wife chose the wild salmon.  Her salmon was fresh and nicely presented, but my beef tenderloin cooked in the Chateaubriand style, accompanied by creamy polenta, spinach and mushroom sauce was absolutely delicious!  To finish the meal, Oregon berries and cream were presented in a caramel cup and topped with loganberry sauce.  This was a perfect end to a fantastic meal!

By taking advantage of the first (6:00pm) dinner seating, my wife and I were able to take another walk as the sun went down.  Upon our return we relaxed some more and prepared for the "night cap" liquor selections available in the library.  Once again, we returned to our room (Port in hand), and enjoyed one of the complementary DVD's available through the front desk.

The following morning we participated in the breakfast buffet, which offered everything from eggs to granola and yogurt (again complimentary).  Immediately following a quick bite, my wife took advantage of the Stephanie Inn massage services and thoroughly enjoyed her experience!

Although the Stephanie Inn will set you back more than the average ocean front hotel, it is worth the stay.  The employees are kind and professional and everywhere you turn, there are thoughtful amenities and details.  Coffee, fresh chocolate chip cookies and lemonade are available in the lobby.  In addition, guests are welcomed to use the Cannon Beach Athletic club, a shuttle service to town is available, a long list of DVD's is at each guest's disposal and the wine/spirits flow twice a day!  Most importantly, guests are provided with a quiet atmosphere free of early morning maid service that you find so often at other properties.  We will definitely be back!

During our dating days my wife and I visited Cannon Beach many times. The summer before we were married we were heading down to Mo's at Tolovana Park for lunch. I turned off the main road early, keeping toward the ocean, and we spotted the Stephanie Inn.  We stopped to take a look at this sparkling jewel and our jaws dropped as we read the prices in the brochure.  We were set to be married the next summer and my then wife-to-be decided on the spot that the Stephanie Inn would be one of our honeymoon stops.  That January I called and made a 3 day reservation for the first weekend of August. After our first stay, we have gone back every year for our anniversary.
There are so many wonderful things I am resorting to a list:
- Fresh cookies, pastries, coffee, and tea at the front desk, 24/7
- 4 PM Wine and Cheese Tasting (we drink 2 glasses in the library, then take a glass to our balcony)
- Jacuzzi tub in almost every room (ask when making your reservation)
- Thick, luxurious towels and robes
- Terrific views in the ocean facing rooms (a couple of rooms have crappy views, ask when making your reservation)
- Wonderful buffet breakfast. While the selection is not expansive, everything served is wonderful.
- Turndown service with little chocolates
- Convenient parking, I've not used the valet service
- High-def LCD TV and DVD player
- Wi-Fi (I am not vacationing if my laptop can't connect!)
- Complimentary passes to the Cannon Beach Athletic Club
- Amazing dinners in the restaurant (Separate review to come)
- No pets or smoking in rooms.  So they smell fresh!
- Children over 12 only (makes for little or no screaming)

What is the value of dependable excellence? To us, it's worth returning every year. I would rather spend 2-3 nights here, than a week at any other hotel in Cannon Beach.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon two years ago, and have been wanting to go back ever since. It feels like home to us; we fell in love with it the second we laid eyes on it. We LOVED the ocean view; we were on the bottom floor, facing the ocean-right on the beach! It was beautiful! We fell asleep every night, listening to the waves crashing outside our windows. How truly relaxing! And the food--that was truly a work of art-sooo delicious and creative! Our tastebuds finally woke up and experienced something truly unique. Very classy and fun at the same time! Not only would we recommend having dinner at the Inn, but also, get up early and have breakfast, too. It is so yummy! And all home-made. Paula Deen would be jealous. :) The wine tastings are great-very generous and much variety. The cookie jar is totally cute and very much appreciated by my husband. The jacuzzi tub is wonderful and the room is beautifully appointed. It inspired us with our own home decor later.
We plan on going back as soon as possible, and would recommend it to anyone. It is SO worth the price!!

My wife and I stayed at the Stephanie in September and the weather was beautiful. We had a wonderful room, not a water view, but nice an cozy. The place is really great. When we checked in, they asked if we wanted some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The inn is right on the beach which is amazing. We walked down the beach for dinner each night of our stay.
