What can I say about Stein's that hasn't already been said about Valhalla?

Perched near the summit of Deer Valley, Stein's wood- and stone-work evokes the highest quality Scandinavian design. Strong, but warm.

The staff are always helpful and easygoing. They even lent us a sports car to drive over to the Olympic grounds, and would drop us off and pick us up anywhere down on Main St.

I have stayed at Stein's for Renaissance Weekend during the summer (when rooms are affordable) and also been by during the winter; it's equally serene in all seasons. If you're looking to stay during Sundance, call well in advance to get on their waiting list -- first dibs go to returning guests.

SEL has no close competitor in the area.

Beautifully appointed, fantastic dining, awe inspiring views and perfect location.

A luxury or grand suite here is the next best thing to having a home in Park City.

I've made it a point to stay at least one week here every winter since my first visit to the lodge in 2002- and co$t be damned, there is no foreseeable end to this love affair.

See you in February, mi amor.

Dined here during Sundance. Definitely a place to add to your list for dinner. Hotel is about a 10 minute drive from historic main street, but well worth it. Celebrities love to stay at this lodge during sundance so if you can get reservations chances our you will be dining with somebody. Food was very good not great, but the service was impeccable. Pricey but well backed up by the establishment. Fellow patrons may be snobby but you may play the part yourself if you like. Its a who's who.

I love the quiet elegance of this lodge and send everyone I know here for a drink in the bar.  Just sitting here and looking out at that beautiful mountain brings back many memories of my early days here in Park City.  My boys would watch the train go around the huge Christmas tree or play chess together in front of the enormous fireplace, while I listen to the classical piano player!  Life is good at Stein's!

This is, truely,  an outstanding resort.  One of the best ski resorts in the area.  Deer Valley is a beautiful, pristine area... only to be treaded  upon by the very rich.  Good lord... that room is how much?  It seemed like a dream, as it started to snow and blanketed the entire valley with a foot of new, wet, skiable snow.  AND, here I sit with a broken foot.   The squeaky noise it made under my shoe (not pleural.. on crutches)  reminded of The Shining.... but, what the heck.  I feel asleep in front of the giant Riverrock fireplace, dreaming of endless ski slopes.  The suite was unbelievable.  Check it out on their website.

I had a terrific meal in the restaurant....Duck with a orange glaze... but, their liquor situation is totally barbaric.  It is such an effort to be a drunk in Utah.

I'm only rating the restaurant.

We came here for the Easter brunch. There were a whole bunch of us, and the food was fresh, filling, and delicious. Stein Erickson's is gorgeous, and service was top-notch. Nothing to complain about :)

Just returned from a few days of skiing and the Sundance Film Festival, as well as an awesome lunch at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley. The service levels of the lodge and restaurant are the best while the food was excellent. It  was dumping powder outside and out table had a view of the Olympic torch and Trainer's Run.  We all enjoyed a fantastic meal and shared a bottle of New Zealand's Cloudy Bay before heading outside for a great afternoon of powder.

We ski every year at Deer Valley and every day we eat lunch in the bar at Stein's.  It is the best!  I have had most of the items on the menu and everything has been delicious.  Service is great.  WE LOVE IT.

No question that this is the best lodge in the world. Really.
Excellent service.
Its only problem is that you  cannot go anywhere else and have a decent time. You will always compare your experience to the SEL and  feel a sense of lacking. The treatment starts as soon as you drive up. They take it from there. They helped me with my equipment, the luggage and then hid the car. Rooms have wonderful views, the great room has fireplaces all over. Apres ski is taken to an extreme there. I feel badly about clunking around in ski boots in a nice place like this. Think 5 star hotel meets Nordstrum staff. I would suggest their champagne brunch but its really hard to ski when you are stuffed to the gills. You will be spoiled, and for all of that, if you consider how hard you work, their prices are not out of line. You really do get what you pay for.

I've not had a better resort/hotel/spa experience.   It's not pretentious or hoity-toity and there's no visible sucking-up.  Everybody that worked there that I encountered was nice and very, very good at their jobs.  The property is gorgeous

The Lodge is a part of the Deer Valley Resort, located 1000 plus feet  above Park City.  It is a combination of rooms and suites on the side of a hill.

This is not a budget resort.  During high season, the most 'economical room' will set you back over $700 per night.  Fortunately, I was there as my sister's guest during her company's annual executive retreat.

"How was the snow?", you ask?

WHO CARES!!  The company* paid for one spa treatment per day and I spent a great deal of my time there being patted, pummeled, rubbed, glossed, polished, hydrated, oiled and exfoliated to the point where I felt like I had no bones.

Beautiful!

(* My older sis' company held their executive retreat here and I was a most lucky guest)

I am NOT a fan of buffets but when I went here with family and friends for the Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet, I was blown away. This was by far THE BEST BUFFET I have ever had. There were all the Thanksgiving trimmings--turkey, prime rib, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. The real delight was the dessert table though. I went back for seconds on dessert!

To top all that off, we received THE BEST SERVICE I have ever had. Our waitress was there for our every need. The only thing that came out wrong was when I ordered a Bellini and received a Mimosa. I accepted it since it wasn't that big a deal to me but I had a feeling they didn't have white peach puree to make Bellinis. Brunch ended up being about $50 a person but it was worth every penny.

This is the place for a sweet getaway.  I've stayed here each year for the last 4 years and loved it.  I like to go here to read, write music, and sleep, its o so quiet, and the views are very inspiring.  They know their service here, oh yes  they do.  The rooms are great, with big tall beds with fluffy white duvets, marble jetted bathtubs and cozy fireplaces, slippers, robes, big fluffy towels, fluffy luxury.  I'll never forget sitting in the steamy hottub on the balcony in my room one year and watching the snow fall.

I love driving up in the dark and seeing the lights and torch out front.  You drive up, the car door is opened, oh hi, you get out of your car and your bags are whisked away, and then your car is whisked away, bye bye.  The desk folks are quick and kind.  A front desk clerk quickly staved off the crying of another guest's small child by handing him a new package of little toys, while she was helping me check in .  One bellman shot to my room within minutes and lit the fire in my fireplace at 2am when I was struggling with it - yeah!  Did i mention the service is great?  Food is mmmm lishus.  Try Stein, you will like.  but you will never want to leave.

I love the Stein Erickson. We usually come at least once a year to ski at Deer Valley. This hotel is very nice and if you need a nice romantic getaway, this is the place. Keep in mind though that like just about everything else in life, it comes with a price. If you're in town during ski season, this place will set you back a pretty penny so don't even look here if you don't want to spend the money for luxury.

The Stein has absolutely excellent service.  The sooms are of very generous size with excellent bathtubs, fireplaces and plenty of amenities. Some even have their own hot tub out on the balconey which is perfect to relax in after a long day of skiing.

If you like the best when it comes to hotels, don't hesitate to book the Stein Erickson. Quite possibly one of the best places for a ski vacation.

This was my first ski vacation and we did it right at the Stein Eriksen Lodge (note spelling of Stein, a Norwegian Olympic skier!).

Stein's service was impeccable, the concierge top-notch, natural environment breathtaking and we truly felt pampered after our visit.  The food was quite good, but for a five-star resort, I had expected a bit more creativity in options.  We had a fantastic dinner across the street at the Chateaux at Silver Lake, which I would recommend over Stein's dining room.  Nonetheless, breakfast at Stein's was the perfect way to prepare for a cool day in the mountains. Granola and oatmeal like you've never experienced before....

Details matter at Stein's, from the hardworking snow shoveling staff (amazing that the walkways stay clear in five feet of snow) to the attentive valet and housecleaning staff.  That said, one important detail lacking from an environmental standpoint:  they provide Dasani water bottles every entry/exit through the hotel lobby and during the turndown service. Yes, anyone at 8,200 altitude should stay hydrated, but bottled water--not sustainable.  I will look forward to the day that Steins replaces bottled water with water coolers--and will delightfully bump my rating up to five stars.

Yeah it's my 100th review! Anyways, I have never stayed here but eaten here, and that in itself was a five star meal. Granted my BF at the time worked there, but I would tell you had they messed anything up. They didn't. Service was spectacular... the food amazing. I had a ahi tuna that I still remember to this day. Everything they have there is fresh, amazing and well prepared. There were five of us in our dining party and to this day (several years later) we still remember that meal. It's a perfect little haven tucked away in the mountains of Utah.

By far the best hotel in Park City!  Located in the luxurious Deer Valley resort, Stein Erickson Lodge offers everything you could possibly need to have a wonderful ski vacation.  No need to drive to the slopes, because you're already there!  Deer Valley was rated the #1 ski resort in the nation by Ski Magazine.  They'll treat you like VIPs!  They even have a shuttle that will take you in to Park City for shopping or dinner or just to play.

We just stopped in for a few drinks on an especially cold and windy day, but I was not that impressed w/ ole' Stein's place.  The drinks were overpriced and small, the service was mediocre at best and the employee's kinda sucked in the gift shop (guess we weren't dressed nice enough for their approval...).  My opinion, skip this place and head to Main Street Park City.

This place is about as swank as you can get. Make sure you bring your unlimited credit limit AMEX card because your going to need it. On the other hand you definately get what you pay for at this place. Just be aware that if you run into Stein he will be arogant and say "It was a pleasure for you to have met me!"

This resort is a classic 5 star -- poeple at your service able to address your every need and thoughtful touches that make your stay more delightful. We had a deluxe room (so no mountain  view, smaller portions) and I found that it was a little cramped. That being said, there were 4 different rooms - a foyer, a washroom (just a sink), a bathroom w/ tub and shower, and then the main room with king size bed and fireplace. The bed was just too big for the bedroom -- but the bed was wonderful and i slept really well. My room also had a porch and a fireplace - great touches. My favorite touch was that their was a humidifier in the room -- i find that winter weather is very drying and usually have to call the front desk for one - but they had already thought of that. They use Molton Brown products -- which are great, and each room has a hot-tub like bath with jets. They provide bubbles and sea salt. The main lodge had a restaurant - glitterand? which is OK. They claim 5 star but i didn't find the food to be delicate or truly special in any way. I had the pot pie which was yummy. The granola, which i had daily for breakfast, was awesome.

I also tried the Spa: manicure pedicure was awesome - they use Essie polish which does really last longer. Only thing is that it is so cold it takes longer for polish to dry so plan for extra drying time by the fire. Nordic Princess - Vichy  Shower + salt scrub + deep moisture massage. It was good, not amazing. The combination is nice for dry winter skin, but if you need a deep massage this won't solve for it. The Vichy shower was cool, but also really wet in weird ways.

The one thing that does make this fabulous: ski-in-ski-out to Deer valley. This was fabulous. Truly.

Net-net: i would stay here again but it didn't knock my socks off like other higher-end places i've been too.

This resort is a nice escape nestled in the mountainous Park City region. I loved the plush cozy bed and the big lush bathroom which was made of all natural stone and granite, complete with a whilrpool tub and giant showerhead. I did not get to try the spa, but heard that they have a vichy shower...........this place delivered wonderful rest after a long day of travel

Read in the magazines that Stein Erickson is the best lodge in Park City, hence we had to go check this out.....the staff are extremely friendly and courteous! We didn't get to stay here but walking in the grounds was extremely breathtaking! The staff made way for us when we were passing her on the walkway! The pool was amazing and the property is artistically spaced and just utterly beautiful among the rolling snow mountains in the background!

Okay don't get me wrong guys there are a few flaws to Stien's. They have pretty good food and you can't get in without a reservation to their restarants. You know the rooms are great to but the only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I threw up once from eating 12 bannana fosters on my Father's birth day but  then again they did post my picture on the wall scince I beat the record of 11 but here is the thing no one has ever beaten me. Now the stores I feel they are lacking in items they have great people there and are very sporty and I need like some clothes and she doesn't give me any...
