Frank!!! You saved the day. I had an important client meeting and was so stressed out about the paperwork that I forgot to plan for the hospitality part of our meeting.
After being turned away by many establishments the night before, I set my alarm for 8:00am to call Stefano's and see if they could help me on short notice. BAM!! Frank said he could prepare two party trays for me and have them ready for pick up by 11:30.
The customer service was unlike anything I've come across in a long time. The food was divine!!! Stuffed peppers, prosciutto wrapped melon, tortellini, a huge selection of meats, cheeses and olives - and the COOKIES!! Oh, those cookies! Yummers!!!
Thank you again! I'm telling everyone about your cool little deli!Comment from Frank S. of Stefano's Golden Baked Hams 2/9/2012

After reading Bob T's review, I really had to check out Stefano's. And I'm so glad I did! I was really impressed with the great food and customer service here!
We came here during the work week, and this place was so crowded. We obviously weren't the only people who had this great little eatery in mind. This family-owned business is a cozy little deli with friendly employees and delicious food.
We each ordered the Stefano's Salad, and they were amazingly good. Our salads came with fresh greens, tender chicken, bacon, black olives and feta cheese. The dressing it came with was really tasty too. We were so impressed with how good our salads were.
Everyone who works here was friendly and helpful too. We were greeted with a friendly hello when we walked in, served with a smile, and they even said thank you as we left. They really went the extra mile.
I can't wait to go back and order a Panini on my next visit. They really looked delicious too. With great food and amazing service, we can't wait to go back soon! -
Review from Bob T.
About half a year ago I wrote, (actually cut and pasted) a line from almost all of the 85 reviews (at the time) and tried to mold it into a coherent review. It was a random idea that I had - didn't really think about it much - just decided to try. It turned out to be much more work than I thought it would be, but once I got it started - didn't want to give up! Check it out, and if you had written a review, find your line!
Since then have had some sandwiches there - they have always been good - but IMO the 5 star value of this place is the Golden Baked Ham, and the service!
Brought home one of their hams for Christmas dinner - this is the second one we have purchased at Stefano's. Both times the ham was awesome - blows Honeybaked away - I am not a huge fan of ham - except for this stuff! It's more expensive than a Costco/Sam's ham; I have tried those hams (to try to save some $) and they don't compare to the smokey sweetness of these hams. I am usually disappointed with the coating on the outside of these hams - not here, you can actually crack a piece off and eat some!
Had about 20 people for Christmas dinner - the ham was a big hit, so easy - just set it out a couple of hours early and let it warm to room temp. It's spiral cut so no problems at all - except for the guys who came to dinner an hour early and couldn't help themselves from picking at it the whole time up to dinner!
Service is great - I have seen and stood in the lines at Honeybaked; going to Stefano's was a different experience. My wife and I stopped in for a sandwich a couple of weeks before and reserved our ham. In addition, we got to talking with Frank Stefano, he and his wife are the owner/operators - a very nice guy who likes to talk food and cooking, and runs a family owned Italian deli - there's no way I'm not gonna like this guy - anyway, he gave us some great tips on roasting a duck, and he went out of his way in doing so - making sure we understood - he was happy we were trying it out since duck is one of his favorites.
A couple days before Christmas I happened to be driving by Stefano's near there closing time - I thought this would be a good time to pick up the ham - so I called and asked if it would be ok to come and get it - I did not have my reservation or ticket number of whatever - no problem - they looked it up by name and said it would be on the counter ready to go when I got there. 5 minutes later I showed up and sure enough it was ready! In less than another 5 minutes I was back in the car and on my way home! Frank was visiting with some people at one of the tables but still took the time to thank me for coming in and wish me a "Merry Christmas" as I was leaving.
I'd suggest going on their website and checking out the video - some interesting information. Whenever i get a ham, it will be one of Stefano's GB Hams,
I have recommended them to others and always recieved good feedback, so I am confident in recommending them to you Yelpers!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Used to come here fairly often for lunch when I worked in that area. Everything that I've had here has been great. I would recommend ordering ahead of time if you do plan on going for lunch because it gets crowded pretty quickly.

Best sandwich place we've gone to ever! We were at the Richard Nixon library, and were starving so looking for a quick place to eat. I looked on trusty yelp and found that this place got great reviews. Had some difficulty finding it (due to my lack of sense of direction, not that the place is actually hard to find), fiance almost gave up and wanted to go to Mimi's cafe instead but I insisted.
We finally found the place, walked in, very cozy. Ordered at the counter, they bring your food to you. I got the tuna melt and he ordered the ham sandwich. Heaven in our mouths! They do something to the bread (probably involves a lot of butter) that just makes it crunchy and so tasty. Got sides of macaroni salad that were good as well. Price was VERY reasonable. Fiance went back a few weeks later because he loved the ham sandwich that much!
Apparently they sell their hams and turkeys for the holidays and parties as well. -

This is a pretty good place. Price is reasonable, but you need to select a food well. Service is pretty good.

Alright I can't decide which my favorite sandwich is here: The Cubano Panini or The Meatball Sandwich. So what do I do? I GET BOTH! So good! Makes great leftovers. Just reheat in the toaster oven. We also have bought a honey baked ham to go. We brought some to a potluck and then made sandwiches with leftovers for days. Love this place!

Review from Ben V.
This is seriously a six star restaurant.
This is my favorite restaurant in all of Orange County. I've written a few five star reviews, but none with the praise I have for Stefano's.
This is a family-owned gem that puts Yorba Linda on the food map. The food is so good here you will literally fall out of your chair. Frank and Colleen are the ultimate class of restaurant owners, and they really care about their business and their customers. I've met people who have used them for catering and say that they were just perfect in every aspect of the event they hosted.
The location is small, but well decorated and the tables work well. If you come during lunch hour, you pay at the counter in a deli environment. If you come for dinner, grab a table and you will get a full-service waiter.
Although everything here is good, I can't get enough of their paninis. Yes, the hams are wonderful (it's in the name) and yes the rest of the menu is as well -- but the panini is otherworldly. Grab an Uncle Carmine's Big Italy panini and you'll be in heaven. Literally.
The "cherry on top" for this location is their beer selection. Unfazed by the dominance of Budweiser, Frank Jr. brings in the best local brews from the likes of the Bruery (Placentia, CA), Stone (San Deiego, CA), Lost Abbey (San Marcos, CA) and others. Make sure you ask the price though, some of the 750ml bottles are rare and can get above $10. Kick the horrible carbonated water that is a light American Lager and try something significant and tasty. Support CA breweries!
The only thing that sucks about this place is that I now live about 50 miles away!
Check it out and if you don't like it, I'll gladly delete my Yelp account.Listed in: All of the oranges are gone...

Yorba Linda, CA
I visited Stefano's with 3 other adults and 3 children, and all 7 of us left happy - which is admittedly not an easy feat.
The various options for paninis and sandwiches put others to shame; you can pretty much choose to have it any way you want it, and the quality of ingredients means it'll turn out delicious every time. The sides are also pretty tasty.
The workers here are extremely friendly and patient. Not once did they grumble about the mess from our toddlers (which, by the way, I helped clean up before we left), and they were attentive even when they didn't have to be (like offering to-go bags for our containers).
All in all a really great place, tucked away in a nice spot with tons of parking. It's only open from 11-4 on weekends, but it's a perfect lunch spot. -

Stefano's you are a hidden gem in Yorba Linda. Can't believe I've been living here forever and never noticed you till now.
I had the Pesto Panini (pesto spread, artichoke hearts, olives, roasted red peppers, and mozzerella) since it was the special for lunch. Got to say even though there was no meat in the sandwich, it was pretty dang good! I don't like olives either, but somehow in this sandwich it blended perfectly. The bread is also toasted to perfection. Great sandwiches. This place is perfect for lunch! Comes with chips~
Will be revisiting soon to try other panini's! :)Listed in: The OC

Review from Ed L.
These panini's are not the measly thin ones with one slice of meat you get some places. These are big, stuffed with meat, cheese and various vegetables.
We got the lunch combo which is about $12 for a panini, side salad, soda and large cannoli. I tried half the Devoto which is a panini with warm pastrami, pickles, caramelized onions, and bbq sauce. I also had half a Saltimbocca which is grilled chicken breast with provolone and tomato sauce. Both were good but I preferred the Devoto as the Saltimbocca was a little bland. The broccoli salad was very good with raisins and a sweet vinaigrette. The acini di pepe salad was my favorite. Tiny pasta beads with feta cheese, and grapes.
The panini was so large it was really hard to finish my meal. I thought about saving the cannoli for later but I knew the cream would probably go bad and I am not the kind of man who would let a good cannoli go bad. One of my credos: Let no dessert go to waste. And the cannoli was good indeed. -

Yorba Linda, CA
I've never been here before though I've always passed by and wondered what exactly it could contain. So, yesterday I decided to give it a try. I went in and ordered the Trevy and it was very good. Now, I've had some mean sandwiches in my day so I wouldn't say it was the best, but it was pretty tasty. The marinara sauce they use to compliment the toasted panini-like chicken sandwich was very delicately planned, or so it seemed. I would say this restaurant is more of a place I would go after church or on a day I felt like eating a little healthier, but I digress. The only complain I have is that the sandwiches are a bit pricy, I guess the quality can't be argued but being a college student means I must be froogle, and this place is not necessarily easy on the wallet. My next target is P.H.A.T. Pizza which is in the same shopping center, heard good things!

Santa Ana, CA
Frank and Colleen are wonderful people and the quality of their food and service shows the love in their hearts for those around them. The food is fantastic. The Ham better than any ham you can find locally or on the internet and has more flavor and less salt than those imitators. The party trays WOW every time. Even simple sandwiches and dinner specials are delightful. Introduce yourself and you will be greeted by name thereafter, because you will be family from that point on. Local wine and beer selections don't get any better. Follow them on Facebook for weekly dinner specials. Stefano's is the reason Yorba Linda lives graciously.

mmm...what a great find in Yorba Linda! We noticed this place while walking out of another nearby eatery and it dawned on us that this was a place we had been wanting to try out.
The next time we had an opportunity we stopped in and picked up some sandwiches to go. We got the following:
Cubano Stefano - Whoa...what a great sandwich. Exceptionally good cuban with that great tang coming from those pickles and yellow mustard, the sweetness of the ham and saltiness of the pork.
Old World Sub - Good sandwich with a great french roll.
Italian Wedding Soup - Excellent soup with a these tiny tasty meatballs.
Friendly, quick service! -

Oh Stefano's...you are Yorba Linda's saving grace. You put us on the map with your delicious sandwiches. Thank God we have you or else there really wouldn't be anywhere to eat.
I've lived in YL my whole life and I never knew about this place until a few years ago. My parents even knew about it before me which is unheard of. I didn't believe them until I read the reviews on Yelp and gave it a try. It gave a newfound love for my city haha.
I had the saltimbocca and it was to die for! The ingredients in their sandwiches are so simple but somehow, they make them into AMAZING little squares of bread, meat and veggies.
A definite must-try if you love sandwiches and most importantly, appreciate good food. -

WOW.
I was shocked. How could a genuine deli sandwich shop exist in the quiet suburb of Yorba Linda? I was simply taken by surprise.
The service is a lot quicker than I thought. The sandwich met and exceeded my expectations. I had the Cubano, and it tasted like a cubano should taste like.
I will definitely be a repeat customer -

This is my favorite spot in north Orange County to both stop in for a bite or have cater late and small gatherings. The paninis are creative, unique an absolutely phenomenal. There is a variety of pasta salads made daily like the orzo and broccoli salad. Not to mention the well selected craft beer options that will complement any menu selection.
This is a family run and owned establishment and you can tell. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. Fantastic! -
Review from alexis b.
What was I thinking not coming to this establishment a loooooong time ago! Especially since were only about 5 miles from this lovely place. Just so you guys know, its in the same parking lot as PHAT pizza off Imperial and Yorba linda blvd.
Walked in around 3 and I guess we passed the lunch rush YAY. The waitress/cashier Carissa is AWEEEESOOOOME! Seriously more people in the service industry need to strive to be like her. We sat down and scaled the menu and I couldn't figure out what I wanted, so many choices! Also looking at that case of all types of pasta salads I was foaming at that mouth plotting on which pasta salads im taking home LOL. Finally I figure out what I wanted and so did the fam. I ordered the Di'vinci panini and the spinach pasta salad with buffalo mozzarella , mom and sis made their own custom sammies.
Food came out nice and fresh , my panini nice and hot. My panini had arugula, bacon, pesto mayo and instead of using brie, I wanted provolone mmmmmm This is by far the best panini I ever had!!! The bread was perfect. Sometimes when you have a panini the bread it's so ashy and dry, its pointless BUT this bread was uber fresh. Everything about this sandwich was perfect, no complaints at all. The pasta salad is yummy too. We took the tortilenni pasta salad home and thats my fav, has little pieces of meat throughout the salad. My family loved their food very much. I seriously know when a place is a 5 star to me, when you leave the eatery and 5 minutes later you say, I want to come back tomorrow LOL. I will be back and I hope this time the owner can be just as friendly to us like he was with these alcoholics doing their wine tasting so early in the day in Yorba linda no less LOL -

I've had this place bookmarked for quite some time, and finally made it! It's located in the same plaza as Chili's and Chronic Tacos on Yorba Linda and Imperial Hwy... It's easy to miss...
Upon arrival, the place was packed! No tables available... but it's ok since I was taking it to go... The employees were super nice, and my order was taken quickly. I ordered the ham and swiss and the husband wanted the Monza... I got my sandwich with regular mustard instead of the honey mustard. Next time I actually want to eat it there, since I only drove for about 5 mins and my sandwich was already cold... The monza was really sweet... so I didn't like it as much..
Overall, the sandwiches were tasty, and we'd return to try other things.
And they cater too! -

I can't believe I didn't know about this place before!
One of my friends took me here the other day and it is amazing!
I got the Trevi panini and it was HUGE! It also tasted great!
Only downside to this place is that we went during the lunch rush and the line went out the door :(
But I would definitely go back 10 more times! -

Thank you, Yelpers! This quiet shop is definitely a hidden gem in Yorba Linda. It has a quaint neighborhood vibe and the food is delicious. The lunch specials are generous. I've tried the turkey panini as well as the cubano. Although I cannot decide which one I liked more, I can say that thinking of these sandwiches makes my mouth water. The perfectly pressed paninis have definitely found a way into my heart :)

This place is great! They have a large selection of sandwiches and they will make it any way you want! The owner is very nice and so are the other workers there.

Stefano's never disappoints. I've tried their hot and cold sammies and they're all delicious. If it looks really busy, don't be scurred! Their service is so quick! I always pick up lunch or dinner and I'm in and out in like 5 minutes!
The Turkey Panini is so delish! It's on a soft chibatta bread with turkey, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, gouda, red onion, a smear of garlic spread. Once you separate them into halves the cheese slowly drips. YUM!!
http://media2.px.yelpc...
The Caprese Salad is refreshing! Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, olive oil and fresh basil. I always order this salad if I buy a half a sammie & half a salad.
http://media4.px.yelpc...
They also serve breakfast at 8! I really want to try their mochaccino, vanilla latte, and cappucino along with a breakfast burrito. :)
The next time I dine in, I'm going to try their cannolis!!! Cannolis are my favorite dessert as of now. Plus, they have Italian Bread Pudding, YUM!!
I'm so lucky to have Stefano's so close to me!! If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out on some LEGIT PANINIS!! GET ON IT.
Must try: golden baked ham and swiss, posto al sole, positano, caprese salad, stefano's salad.

Yorba Linda, CA
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Yorba Linda- The panini's are really wonderful, and the ingrediants are fresh. It feels healthier to eat here than other restaurants. Each panini is a mouthful of heaven, and they also have coca-cola in bottles (with cane sugar instead of corn syrup). I actually enjoy watching the Yorba Linda housewives on their lunch dates. I'm not sure why, but it makes me giggle and I know that I am the one out of place. My only complaint is their hours. Nearly every time I think to go there, they aren't open. I wish they were open in the evenings on the weekdays, and until 9pm on the weekends. If they were, I think I'd eat there all the time.
They also have an interesting selection of wines here, and have purchased some fun ones as gifts. -

I'll cut to the chase...best ham we've ever had. We usually order a Honeybaked for Easter but when I took at look at the prices this time around, I just couldn't do it. My neighbor told me about Stefano's so I decided to give them a try.
I walked in without a reservation first thing Friday, no line, and walked out 2 minutes later with a beautiful 9 lb half ham for $30 less than Honeybaked. When I unwrapped it Sunday morning, the first thing I noticed was the brown sugar glaze, which I actually had to break off in some places! It was sliced much better than Honeybaked and I ended up getting way more actual ham, it wasn't all fatty or inedible parts. I hardly even needed a knife, most pieces just pulled right off. My family devoured at Easter and we finished the leftovers by Monday night, lol.
We are hoping to try their sandwiches and pannini as soon as we have the chance!Comment from Frank S. of Stefano's Golden Baked Hams 5/3/2011

ROAR! Usually I'm not a huge sandwich fan, but this place is worth it!
Too bad it's pretty far for me, but it's a good combo to take the sandwiches to-go, then go to Cinema City Theaters in Anaheim Hills, and eat lunch in the car before going into the theater ;D
Have had the:
***Monza Panini ($6.95)- Golden Baked Ham, brie and pepper jelly
Your eyes kinda roll back with pleasure after the first bite, but this sandwich is good to share as it gets a bit sweet after awhile. Who knew pepper jelly can be so good in a sammy!?
***Old World Sub ($6.29) -
We got this purely for the amount of ingredients listed on the menu. It's a lot! And it was oh so refreshing and MEATY. Good deal.
***Turkey Cheese & Avocado ($6.29)
Fairly standard. I'd suggest getting this on a french roll as it allows for more surface area for the meats/cheeses.
***Golden Baked Ham, Turkey, and Provolone ($5.99)
Also fairly standard but good overall. Again, get it on a french roll!
***Olive Salad ($2.99 for small)
I LOVE olives. And a small side had about 4-5 different types of olives in it with roasted peppers. It was delicious!! Would get it again.
I'm also amused by their sticker on the window that says "We're kind of a big deal....in Yorba Linda"
Weee! Craving this place now. -

This must be what heaven is like. I ordered Smashy's Hot Italian Beef, and it was honestly the best sandwich I ever had. The meat was lean, and it was in good proportion to the onions and peppers. I've also never had a better au jus.
Who knew that au jus could be so flavorful!
I also ordered a cannoli, but just one because I don't usually like them because most places make them too sweet or put too many chocolate chips in. This one was perfect. I wish I ordered more of them!
I can't wait to go back. This will definitely be a regular place for me now. -

This place is A-OK, but not phenomenal. I would return, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
Paninis were pleasant and a good size, so two not-too-hungry women could probably share one - the come sliced in half already.
Orzo salad was good.
Nice, clean feel inside. -

Hit this place up if you are in the mood for any type of sandwich. From hot panninis to cold turkeys, this place does it well.
This place specializes in ham. Their ham is very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. Their cold ham and swiss sandwich is one of my favorites along with the Cuban pannini. The Cuban is what a Cuban should be: great ham and very tasty pork.
Their sandwiches are around 5-7 bucks and are pretty big in portion.
I think I smell a trip back to Stefano's in my future.
