You know, it's not a fancy place. I almost always have to ask the server for something that was forgotten (side of mayo, refill on pop), but who cares. I'm not going here for fine dining. I'm going here because the people are nice, the food is very good, and it's nice and cheap. And that's what I get.

STEAK & SHAKE SHITTERS
Jan14, 2012 6:53 pm We order 3 Shooter sandwiches and other items. We received the WORST looking and tasteless burned phlegm (spit up) soaked with the slimmest flavoring of sauce on an areola size biscuit. Nothing but burned pieces of burger left in the grease bucket. One piece the size of a piece of Jerkey, two the size of a wheat chex which NEVER covered the biscuit/bun. I went so far as to look up a picture of the Shooter(Shitter) on their website....SHOCKED to see a photo of a tasty looking treat. I then looked at the charred remains of the real thing!!! Life does Not imitate Art. Steak and Sharks recycles their burned garbage into $$$$$ -

We had the worst experience last night. The food was horrible, service horrendous and the food, oh, god the food. We are not ever going back there.

We've recently discovered Steak N Shake restaurants and find them to be an excellent value with really good food. Three of us had lunch here for less than $22.00, including tip. The portions are probably smaller than other sit down restaurants but it is enough for each of us to leave feeling full and satisfied. Hamburgers were juicy and fries were hot. Very good service from out waitperson, too.

Steak n' Shake is one of our favorite spots to go on Sunday mornings. Every time we've been here the service has been extremely friendly, personable and courteous, which includes all of the servers we have had but particularly Gus and Pepper are the best so far.
We never order breakfast, rather lunch -- single steakburger, fries and chili and usually the turkey melt or chicken sandwich with fries. Everything is cooked to order, the way we like it.
We leave full, satisfied and usually smiling.
