Staybridge Suites
3 reviews for Staybridge Suites
The best deal you can get anywhere you travel is a Staybridge. I've been to this one a few times, and though it's not the closest to downtown, it's close to the hub of North Austin, including a movie theater, grocery/retail shopping, and a few high-tech companies and office complexes. it is also centrally-located and close to freeways.
The facilities are clean and well-maintained, they have a good size lobby and patio for sitting, and their staff is pleasant. They provide free continental breakfast. Last of all, their rooms are like apartments, are spacious, and each have their own kitchenette.
I spent many a night at this joint while working for a company that had it's headquarters in SF, and the engineering/IT folks in Austin. The company was falling apart, so we shifted HQ to Austin for the summer. After staying in a crappy Residence Inn for a week or so, I shifted to Staybridge Suites and was so happy I did.
Picture comfy little apartments full of everything you need for an extended stay. Every morning a tasty breakfast buffet including hot dishes like oatmeal (yay), different juices, coffee, tea, hard boiled eggs (yay), etc. At night I'd make it back just in time to fill up a pint class with a draft beer and take it and some appetizer thingies (usually fried) up to my little apartment.
Definitely recommended for an extended stay. Whole Foods is just down the street which comes in very handy.
Dropped in on some friends who were bunking here last time we were all in Austin and liked the looks of the place. We got an attractive pre-paid rate online but they didn't charge the card until we checked in, which was cool with me. The location is good, room was super clean, beds were comfy, wifi was fast and the breakfast set-up was better than average. Would definitely stay at this property again.
