9 reviews for Stash's Grill
Are you another yuppie that has moved into the Rox and need a place to get great classic pizza (none of this gourmet-z upper crust stuff)? STASH is my man. Not only do they have delicious and affordable pizza but other great yummies on the menu including a wonderful greek salad (get it with chicken) and chicken fingers.
Pizza has a medium crust that's not greasy and not dry. Sundays and Mondays offer a great special: Buy 1 pizza and get a small cheese for free.
Reasonably priced. The only down side is they don't deliver. I love this place!
I'm happy to see all the reviews Stash's got. This place is always clean. The food is fresh. The gentlemen behind the counter has a great personality and is always upbeat. I appreciate that due to the fact Dudley can be grimy at times. Nice A/C in here for the summer too. You can park easy up the block. Stashes comes through consistently over and over for me. Good spot. Recommended for sure.
I.LOVE.STASHES!!!! delicious food, none of that mediocre "sub shop" food that's usually served at these typed of places, the food is ALWAYS made fresh! i've tried basically everything on the menu and have never been dissapointed!
You know Sal's Famous from Do the Right Thing? It's now called Stash's and it's in Dudley Square. Well, except for the racial violence. There were a couple of signs posted about not responding to ignorance and promoting peace. Pretty cool!
There's a friendly, playful guy behind the counter taking orders and phone calls, and a clientle made up exclusively of black folks from the neighborhood, people serving jury duty and police officers. There are about 4 standard pizza place booths, but don't count on getting a seat during the lunch rush. It's definitely not a date spot, unless you're 14. But the food is good, fresh and cheap. A small chicken parm sub (which felt like a large) was just $5 and definitely held its own. Next time I'm called for jury duty, I'll go back!
So I had, like an hour and a half to kill in between jury duty (See my review of the Roxbury Court House) and I didn't want to stray to far (I am white after all! I would have stood out like a sore thumb) so I made my way to Stash's. The place is not a looker, let me tell you, but as long as the food is good, I could care less. The guy at the counter was pretty nice, considering he seemed to be fairly busy. I got the small tuna with everything on it except lettuce. Small sandwich + soda = $6.50 = happy me. The price alone made me love it, but when I opened it, I was thoroughly impressed. The sandwich was quite the bargain in terms of size and it was equally tasty. They did not skimp out on the tuna AT ALL which is awesome. The bread was soft and chewy and really really nummy.
If I ever find myself in Dudley Square again (and let's just be honest here, would probably only happen if I got jury duty again) I would definitely come here again.
This place is my usual lunch spot on workdays. I and everyone else in my office is ADDICTED to the "spicy fries" they are divine! Amazing, "they put crack it in" is the joke because we are so hooked on them. The other day I went there for my usual garden salad and I heard someone order "a slice." Granted, I was starving and would hate myself later for eating a slice of pizza but, was .it. worth. it.! Wow. Not too greasy nor dry. It was one of the best "fast food" pizza I have ever had. In the past I have gotten zita w/ marinara sauce, you have to watch how much cheese they put on it... granted, the more the better but you can get by on a little cheese, but the best part of the getting ziti is the GARLIC BREAD. "WOW!!!" is the word. I swear on weeks I have been super healthy, I totally indulge myself in the garlic bread. It is too good to pass up.
This place is close to where I spend half of my time, and I haven't been cooking a lot when I am home, so I will pop in here now and again. They have good salads (I like the grilled chicken caesar) and good dinners and calzones. They do make everything fresh to order, and they focus on quality, so it can take a little bit.....I would suggest calling ahead if you're in a rush. They have huge portions, so it can go for a few meals. It's good, simple pizza joint food that's a little bit higher quality than you usually find.
Have your cash handy.....they charge a "fee" when you use one. BLAH ON THAT!
Stash's grilled chicken ceasar wrap is really good and their staff is great. We always order food from here and they always get it right and so are their prices. MMMMMM......Grilled chicken ceasar wrap.....mmmmm....See you Friday Stash's!
This place is pretty good. The location is perfect for in town folk. Its open late and the food is great. I would recommend the chicken cutlet large ( enough for two people, BELIEVE ME ). The prices are average for a pizza place. If your looking for a nice quite spot in town for a date or just to talk with a friend or some friends then this place is perfect. I would definitely suggest this place over most places pizza places in boston. The service is good, the guys don't smile but who would want to working till 12:30 on a Saturday night. Well remember to chew twice once for you and once for ME!!!
