This movie theater has been renovated for some time now.  As it is part of a larger entertainment complex, you should probably also look at the reviews over there.  But I will write here about the theater itself.

This is my preferred spot for when I am going out to the movies.  First of all, their visibility is terrible.  Most people do not seem to realize that there is, in fact, a theater at the corner of Alpharetta Highway and Holcomb Bridge Rd.  You can't see it from anywhere.  There is a sign for Startime, and it does have some scrolling movies on it, but no traditional sign for the theater.

The end result of this:  If you want to see a movie the night it opens, go to Startime.  Trust me, it is not sold out.  Not even close.  As a bit of a secret, there will only be half the people here as if you go to one of the sizable chain theaters nearby.  The unfair part is this:  I want Startime to do well, but my draw to it is that the attendance is lower.  You also save $1 over the usual movie prices nowadays.

The theaters themselves DO have stadium seating.  On the whole, they are not as clean as a chain theater, but on the other hand, those aren't really that clean, either.  The bathrooms are have been fairly well cleaned on my last several visits, so that seems to be a problem they have put in their past.  Yes, concessions are expensive, but no more so than any other movie theater.

In addition, you can sometimes get movie tickets combined with other Startime services, such as game cards or mini golf, at a bit of a discount.  And while the place can be overrun with children, after 10 PM there are no minors allowed.  So it is actually good for families, but you can also avoid the children and high schoolers if you go late enough.

Like many who reviewed Startime Entertainment, I too remember when this place was actually "cool."  Unfortunately, this movie theater can now be summed up in another word: "gross."

They're in the process of remodeling, but I never see any workers, just multiple theaters that are now gaping black holes with boards haphazardly nailed over the entrance.

The bathrooms are disgusting; you'll be lucky to find one toilet working.

The reason for the second star?  It's the only place you can see a movie for under $7.

What a rip-off. $9 for a ticket, and $6.50 for a drink and box of candy bought me a non-air conditioned theater in 96 degree weather, a theater that had not been cleaned, bathrooms that were disgusting (no soap, trash all over), a broken seat. This place reminded me of the $1.50 show in SC. So why was my ticket so much.

I am not sure I can explain why I don't care for Startime, but I won't even go there to watch a movie.
