I really like Starry Nights wines, but don't worry about that right now, because I'm not exactly knowledgeable about what makes a wine good or not.

More importantly, Starry Night has been gracious enough to have tastings at several of our Monarch Interiors in-store events and they've always been kind, friendly and generous about the amount and variety of wines they've poured.

I found a couple Starry Night wines at a shop and really enjoyed them. I planned to visit the area over the weekend so I called ahead to make an appointment. The man on the other end of the line explained that they were in the midst of harvest/crush so they wouldn't be able to arrange a tasting. Nevertheless he encouraged me to stop by if I wanted some bottles. He also explained that if anything was open, he could pour us some tastes.

We dropped in a couple days later and flagged down a worker. We weren't able to taste anything but we did end up buying two Zinfandels for around $20 each. Both turned out to be tasty. I'd recommend attending this winery's annual tasting event in December because they make good wine but seem ill suited to host regular tastings.

If you are looking for a  BIG, YUMMY Zinfandel then get the Lodi Old Vine Zin. (You can get this at Paragon too). The Tom Fenney is also excellent. If you want a nice table wine, try the Adara. You pretty much can't go wrong with their wines and at a $15-40 price point, it's a great wine to bring to a dinner party.

The Russian River & Lodi Zin are a great value. We did some barrel tastings here this past weekend during their "open house". They were pouring their current releases. But the pours were tiny, not even 1oz. so it was hard to really taste most of it. I did leave a new wine club member and with 6 bottles. The event had 20% bottles, a good deal.
