Oh yeah!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY 'Belle!!! This is based off my alcohol tainted memory of the place. It's not that big, but considering that all we needed was a portion of it to set up food and shots...how much room do you really need right? The most amazing part of it was that they allow alcohol here. Now you know what I mean by "oh yeah!!!!" Plus our location was close enough to daisy chain electrical chord to Boob's house so we could play the radio. WOOT!

Minus 1 for the picture that was taken of the bathroom.....

my kids and i had fun with the "cool yelpers" here at this park.  Serbelle Rocks!!!

Definitely a clean and not so crowded park.  It was actually a nice, overcast afternoon at the park last Saturday (5/31/08).  A place for the kids and "kid wannabes" to go playing on the playground like swinging (hmm), monkey bars (another hmmm)..etc..etc

Across from this park is a school (to help u find the place)

Beautiful park with plenty of seating, clean facilities, and plenty of  waste bins to toss trash after a long day of chillin in the park! I love the fact that this park is small enough to watch your kids run around from afar without having to worry that they are going to get lost. Mateo and I had such a wonderful time helping Serbelle celebrate her 21st birthday this past Saturday! My little Mateo had fun running around trees with John Michael, playing on the playground, swinging, being shot by the paparazzi (aka Cobber), and playing in the bouncy castle. I should mention- the bouncy castle is not always at the park-you have to call and hook that up yourself!

Did anyone get a pic of Serbelle frolicking on the play ground with her beer? That was classic!

Good times!

Confession of a shooter.
-------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------
It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon when I spotted a family gathering going on at this park. Not sure what gets to me, could be the sun, the wind, but most likely the Extra Stout. I pull out my 35 and start shooting!

YES! I shot them all! The kids, the girls, the guys, even their dogs! I shoot them while they are eating, napping, swinging, flipping, kissing, but the ones I like the best is when they are looking at me and I shoot them right between their eyes!

Few of them are pretty lively! Have to shoot them multiple times, and they just keep on bouncing up and down!!

And this one, I heard others call her Serbelle, keep calling for shots even after I shoot her like twenty times! Gee, by the time I got done with her my finger hurt!

Yeah, it was a good day. I shoot them all and nailed them good!

I once lived in this neighborhood  and used to drive by this park daily.

Starlite Park is a gem of a park that is nicely maintained by the City of Milpitas. A cool playground area for little kids (and big ones!), clean bathrooms (but needs soap) and lots of mature shade trees.

Great place to gather to have an outdoor BBQ - perfect place to help Serbelle celebrate her special day and to hang out, bask in the sun with fellow Yelpers.

Always a clean park, easy to get to, parking around the street. Often times there's been a volleyball game going on, but not this past Saturday.

Typical big toy.... had as many adults on as kids -- but that was due to Watani's acrobatic demonstration. Cirque de Soleil? More like Cirque de Wind on Saturday!

The only down side to this place over the weekend was the weather!
Can't blame the park for that.  It can get cold in the shade, but those same trees can provide lots of welcome shade in the summer time.

The bathrooms were clean as was the park overall.

Starlite Park is one of the oldest neighborhood parks in Milpitas dating from the late 1950s.  Generations of kids have played in the park and it has seen many family birthday parties, graduation parties, and other reasons to picnic by the local residents.  At a tad over 4 acres, it is not big enough to start a good pick-up game of soccer  but if you are careful to avoid running into the two volleyball poles in the middle of the grassy area, a small game can be managed.  There are also two horseshoe pits but we have never actually seen them used.  There is also a memorial to a homeless man who used to hang out near the park and who was beaten to death there by two youths in the late 1990s.  It may be the only park in California with a memorial like that to a homeless person.

There is a short video about Starlite park that shows occasionally and without warning on the Milpitas Community Cable Access Channel 26.

When you visit Starlite Park, expect to see big trees, green grass, four picnic areas with barbeque grills, a modern plastic equipped tot lot, flush toilets, and a sign that has "Park Closed" in very large letters - but in the fine print underneath is written the hours it is closed.  There is no sign announcing when the park is open.

Starlite Park is located across Abbott Street from Anthony Spangler Elementary School and serves the Manor neighborhood.

-it's a really cute park, just big enough to keep things intimate
-"This 4-acre park has 5 picnic tables, 3 BBQ pits, horseshoe pits, restrooms, play equipment."
-it would be nice if they had soap in those restrooms, so we placed bar soap in both
-a few yelpers on the playground was fun
-announcing/proving i wasn't drunk to my sister over the picnic tables cuz i wasn't giving head to watani in the bathroom was just classic
-having yelpers (and their kids) sitting on the beautiful grass ontop of blankets was such a delight to see
-giving the sorbetero guy some pancit while he was lounging under the shade
-mateo (yvonne's little nino) eating his spiderman icecream from the sorbetero with gumball eyeballs (good thing noelle didn't see that or she would have stole them from him)
-cobber taking pics of "objects"
-bruises from the jumpy house does not mean i am old with thin skin
-the tall trees provided shade but it was gorgeous out in the sun
-getting a long awaited and longed for hug infront of the restrooms was priceless

I grew up living and going to school right next to this park. I loved it...for a while. Then the homeless would crowd there. It was rumored that a school mate had a run-in with would-be kidnapper there. From the daycare center at Spangler school, I saw multiple times the cops coming by to arrest the homeless causing public disturbances. Including setting some stuff on fire.
