this particular starbucks in inside target. which makes this particular target all that more attractive to me than the PH location.
Depending on Reno's Whiney Factor, we either go before we do our Weekly Target Run, or after. I try to do it after, much more relaxing.
So, this starbucks, being inside another store, is a bit different. no wide-screen telling you what music they're throwing at you (quite possibly no music!,) less logo, less starbuck-y.
This starbucks has the nicest barristas ever. They welcome the mom with kids and the extra time it takes to decide between the blueberry muffin and the berry scone ("Reno, it's reaalllly dry, you'll hate it, I swear!!!") The drinks are ready lickety-split, the tables always clean. Plenty of room to *park your cart.* There's even counter seating for some luscious WC parking lot people-watching. -

Once I have a Starbucks Soy Peppermint White Mocha on the brain, there's no stopping me.
Service here was mediocre, so I was expecting a mediocre drink. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of peppermint syrup the barista added to my drink. I was pepperminty fresh for the rest of the day!
I don't frequent Walnut Creek often, so I doubt I'll come back anytime soon, but the haughty service won't stop me from ordering again if I were to return. -

Of all the Starbucks in Walnut Creek (and there are way too many), I prefer this location the most, as it's the least Starbucksy. No phony couches or dudes surfing porn on their laptops. It's real people stuck at Target, needing their fuel before the battle.
I much prefer Peet's Coffee, but when in Target, and needing coffee, it's the best Starbucks in town.
Plus you can get pizza and kiddy treats at the snack bar right there. -

If Enterprise Rent-a-car ever screws up your reservation for Berkeley, and you have to come to Walnut Creek in order to find a car for rent, and then you get bad directions and spend 90 minutes lost, and end up back in Walnut Creek, and find that now it's 6:30pm and too trafficky to try leaving the Bay Area, well...this Starbucks is a nice place to come relax, pee, get a soy misto and check GoogleMaps.

I like the location and the service and the coffee here. It makes the best cafe mocha in town.
