Following my April 14th run in. I was arrested on April 15 th for trespassing at this, I spent all night in jail and the charge was dismissed, from the cell, meaning I did not have to go before the judge. I was told by the store manager to contact the District Manager because there was an investigation, still contemplating!

Bring your shopping cart and your raggedy blanket! Everyone else does. Oh and don't forget to jealously, eerily stare at the person across from you eating the sandwich he paid $7 for.

I go to this location to use a public restroom- its always too busy to sit and the line is always so long which is unfortunate considering the location ie:great.
interestingly enough- homeless people always find a seat.

This is the busiest and least pleasant place to have a cup of coffee in NYC. They never have "basic" items like a bag to carry away your lunch in, or napkins, or straws, milk or stir-ers.They seem overburdened if you bother them to refill the milk canisters. Also the place is seriously overrun with tourists and students and people watchers (who are they watching exactly? a bunch of rich, bored college kids blowing their daddy's money on a 6-dollar cuppa?) and people who think that this is a place to practice their bad behavior. There are about a dozen deli's within walking distance that have better coffee--grab one from there and go sit in Union Square Park for a better time.

I don't know why, but this is one of my more favorite Starbucks in the city. It's one of the places I don't mind being crowded. The only major complaint I have for them is that they need to strive to keep the bathrooms clean. It can get fairly gnarly sometimes.
I've never really had to wait in line too long for my drink, and the service seems to be fairly fast with the standard New York City amicability, or lack thereof I should say, one has come to expect. Anyway, if there are any seats at any Starbucks, you have a decent chance of finding one here. If not, try the Starbucks on the other side of Union Square Park.
The location is great and they're open late, which is part of the reason I'm giving it a four stars. I mean, this place is open hella late! I assume it's for the cute skater boys who hang out in USP at night.
All-in-all, not a bad Starbucks, but there are better ones obviously. Oh! If you're from the West Coast, they don't have our selection of desserts, which makes me cry. I mean, come on, organic nut bars, fat-free muffins, and the likes should be de facto across the board. They instead have fattier fare, but I will admit they have the espresso brownie I've come to love on my eastern seaboard visits.

There is always a line at this Starbucks. That's how many people come here. But there is great eye candy as well. That's how many people come here.
I've had work related meetings and dates at this Starbucks, it's centrally located and easy to find. Once, I even had a homeless guy who was sleeping sitting up on the bench next to me almost slump over and land in my lap. That was exciting! And that was on a date. It was more exciting than the date.

Sure, Starbucks is a chain. But they pay their workers really well. I guess they have to since they do a really good job of keeping their toilets clean. If you feel that turtle head poking out, just go to Starbucks. They're clean, they're all over the city, and you can get a cup of coffee when you're done taking a dump.
As mentioned in the other reviews, this Starbucks is open 24-hours. So every time you have that fantasy that you wish there were places that you could just go into for a quick catnap, well, this is about as close as it's gonna get. Just walk by this place at 2am and you'll see what I mean. This location also has three registers, which in the morning, really dices through the line when your body is fiending for caffeine.

It saddens me that I have a distinct preference of this Union Square Starbucks over the one across the park. I'm going to yuppie hell now.

Remember when there was only one Starbucks on Union Square? Ah, the memories. Though this location is not as mind boggling as the two Starbucks across from each other at Cooper Union, I still feel it's gratuitous to have this Starbucks, the one on the southern end, AND the one in the B&N. How much coffee do you people need??
Apparently a lot, b/c this place is always packed.
The 24 hour-ness is nice, though.

This is the Starbucks I enjoy visiting the most. They always have a line, meaning they must be good. However that can also mean your order might take a while if they slip up. It's happened once or twice to me but I can forgive and forget. As long as the coffee still tastes the same that is. I guess this Starbucks always has so many customers is because their location is ideal considering it's surrounded by a shopping center, movie theater, park, and Barnes & Nobles. How much better can it get?
I hate having to wait for so long. Last time I went they were asking people (about 10 of us) what had each one ordered for some reason. That is not the treatment you'd expect at a Starbucks store.
it's fine.
i've been coming to this location for 3 years now... whenever i'm in Union Square, i opt for the WESTSIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!
*crosses arms and throws up West Coast gang sign*
it's a chain, it's el diablo... but you can't help the fact that whenever you need a place to hide, chill, do work, use the bathroom, or drink some coffee... you can count on Starbucks. c'mon, you know you secretly like it. =)
there's one approximately across the park, too. it's closer to my work and i stop by there all the time... but the west is simply the best.

Best coffee anywhere, of course it Starbucks! There is one right across the park, but for some reason I prefer this one, usually less crowded and , I don't know, more chill
