For the love of all that is good and decent, why would anyone come HERE?!  Especially as this very Island is World renowned for its coffee....KONA COFFEE!  Ever heard of it?!?!

Well the answer to the question above all boils down to, you guessed it, convenience......Starbucks is the ONLY coffee joint w/in walking distance to where we're staying.  

Next closest place is a 30 min drive each way ( literally )

And might I also point out that there are TWO.....right across the street from each other - in typical Starbucks fashion ....yes Starbucks has even saturated the market here in Waikoloa - how depressing!

Oh the shame of it all.......

I hate Starbucks but sometimes you really need a cup of coffee.  I went in and stood in line, with one person in front of me.  It was 3 or 4 minutes while the lady and the sales person were discussing which coffee mug would make the best present and could it be gift wrapped.  The other worker in the store could not take my cup of black filtered coffee order because he "could not run the register".  

My pals were all outside waiting so after what was forever I got my cup of coffee.  It was their new house blend it was both burnt and highly acidic at the same time.  undrinkable.  i threw it out and we went to the Island Market and got a cup of drinkable brew.
