One of the best/busy starbucks I know of.
On Christmas Day, they were open to all the people that were lined up.
And they made the perfect caramel mocha frap.
24 hour drive thru. AWESOME!
So basically, it's a Starbucks, woopdi doo. However, the baristas here don't screw up my order, are always nice, and they're open late inside so my night walking self can go in and sit for a bit before the movie that I am inevitably headed to.
I've also ordered pastries here and had them go hunt me down fresh ones from the back without asking. Score!
Starbucks is Starbucks, but this one can be a pleasant surprise. Beware parking, it can be a nightmare and it is usually crowded especially at night for the aforementioned reasons.
Great staff. They were very nice even though it was slammed. I would've been stressed out and bitter. Thank you for the wonderful service!
I am not a diehard fan of Starbucks. But I really like this one. It has great freeway access for the northbound I-5 commuter. Most of the time I roll through here at zero dark thirty so I have no problem with parking. Though at certain times of the day the parking is horrible and the back up thru drive thru can extend to the street. The baristas are absolutely great! They remember what I drink and call people by name. If the line is long alot of the times they have my drink waiting for me by the time I get to the counter. Now I believe not all Starbucks stores are the same, but this one is exceptional even with the bad parking.
I will agree with the other reviewers that this place is always busy. I have spent countless hours in the lobby and outside. I will admit that the lobby can get a bit crowded at times, but for the most part I have sat in the lobby without trouble or feeling to crowded. If you feel up to it the outdoor seating is an alternative. Keep in mind it sits on the corner of two busy streets and right near I5 so if it's a quiet atmosphere you want, outdoor seating isn't for you. But with that said, where else can you be sitting outside with friends, see an accident occur in the intersection and moments later several blacked out Suburbans fly up on the scene, several people marked with "FBI" jackets get out and clear the scene within minutes. Now that's coffee and a show! As a side note, if I suddenly disappear shortly after posting this we will know why :)
Overall I like going here and I will continue to go here. I have always had great service, the staff is friendly and the drinks are always good.
This starbucks is ALWAYS busy whenever I go there. It's pretty small compared to other Starbucks I've been to - I always feel cramped when I stay in their lounge area. Last time I went there, I sat outside with my friend but a really bad garbage smell permeated around the outside seating. I looked and saw that their garbage was overfilling! Adding to the Tacoma-aroma? No stank you.
This Starbucks is always very busy, but despite this they always right theie wrongs. If your drink takes too long you get it for free or a coupon for a free one next time. You don't even have to complain they just offer. I think I have had more free drinks there then I have paid for! :-)
